From the service to the quality of food this place is an excellent date night for an excellent family night :-) we ordered the shrimp tacos, the children's chicken strip meal and cheese quesadilla meal as well as the ceviche and queso. HAPPY HOUR!! Our group sat in the bar area and had a round of margaritas and ordered off the happy hour menu. Margarita was as well mixed without being overly sweet. The complimentary chips and salsa was placed on the table as soon as we sat down. The salsa was delicious, hot and fresh. The guacamole was tasty and had large avocado chunks. We stopped by for lunch after a little shopping at the mall. We were promptly greeted and sat in a booth with a good view of the restaurant. Our server came by and greeted us with a friendly smile. I ordered the sweet and spicy ribs as an appetizer and OMG! They were so tender and flavorful. They were right up there with ribs from the best bbq places in town. Do Not sleep on these ribs. I had a ceviche as my main course and it did not disappoint, as usual. It was fresh and cold! The service was impeccable as well. Typical pappasito's food and drinks. We sat at a 4 top with 4 adults, each couple shared a plate of fajitas. We had zero room on our table, it was very uncomfortable and annoying, there was no way our food would have fit if each person had ordered an individual dish. The drinks are not what they used to be and the margaritas were weak, thankfully, we had good company, so it didn't matter. However, if I'm paying $15 for a margarita, it better be strong and it wasn't, I want to see tequila floating on the top and it was not there. Ambiance was not bad, but the servers were steadily trying to turn our table and even though I realize that is their job, it became a nuisance after the 5th time of being interrupted mid conversation. My experience was terrible. Several things happened (1) we were seated with no menus, only kids menus. After about 5-10 mins of waiting I had to go get my own menu. (2) The waiter forgot my wife's drink smh. (3) I wanted the Red Snapper Ceviche as an appetizer but we were informed it was never made after I asked when was it coming. (3) When the food came he took the salsa and chips away and never asked were we done eating them. (4)We ordered a taco dinner and never got the whole order. To start, I love Tex-Mex. I've grown up on it my whole life. Saying that, Pappasito's does an amazing a job at tex-mex. I've never had a bad meal here. The enchiladas, the tacos, fajitas, have all been great. The chicken tequila-lime salad is probably the first time I've had a salad and thought (this is amazing) for a salad. Service is almost always great. The few times service has been poor is when I've sat at the bar, and the bartender (guy) pays more attention to women at the bar instead of taking care of everyone. However, I've also basically stopped coming here. Pricing is just outrageous. There's no world where a taco plate and quesadilla is worth a 100 bucks (not including tip), granted, we each had a margarita, but still, it's not worth it. Nearly 30 bucks for a quesadilla, 25 bucks for tacos, 25 bucks for enchiladas. gtfo here with that pricing for tex-mex. There are way too many places in the Houston area that does great Tex-Mex for far better pricing. read more

My husband isn't the biggest fan of Mexican food, mostly because of the grease, but he was craving a margarita for his birthday. I'm so glad Pappasito's now takes reservations because there's almost always a wait. Having a severe gluten allergy, I informed my waitress who took incredible measures to make sure my food was GF. The manager came to the table and brought baked chips since the ones they initially bring out are fried in the same oil as the meat, so there's a chance for cross-contamination. My food also came out marked as GF, and they ensured there was no contact with gluten items. I truly appreciate all the measures the Pappa's chain takes for those with gluten allergies or Celiac. They're always at the top of our list when debating on where to go for dinner since I know I won't get sick eating here. read more

While visiting friends in Houston, we stopped at Pappasito's for dinner after they picked me up at the airport. The interior of Pappasito's is huge. It was pretty lively for a Thursday night. Since it was my first time dining there, I was overwhelmed by the size of the menu. I decided on a large sized margarita first and we ordered queso for the table. The queso was a big portion and pretty good - they also brought out additional salsas for us so we didn't have to try to share the one small bowl for 4. The tables at Pappsito's are pretty tight, so once all of your food and drinks arrive, there is barely any room. For mains, my boyfriend and I shared the beef & chicken fajitas. For $40 bucks, I thought it would be a bigger portion. The fajitas were fine - nothing special. I feel like the pricing overall was on the pricier side for a Mexican chain restaurant, and that says a lot coming from someone who lives by NYC. My other issue that night was that the service was pretty slow - it look a really long time to get water and drinks. We ordered a second round of drinks and by the time they showed up, we were ready to leave. It seems like our waiter was covering too many tables. Probably wouldn't come back here again. read more

We got the beef and chicken fajitas, and not only were the meats extremely juicy and tender, but the portions were generous too as a medium size was more than enough for the two of us. Skylar was also truly an example of excellent service. He was upbeat, attentive, and extremely detail oriented. That being said, I don't drink alcohol here. Drinks are insanely overpriced, overly sweet, and not strong. Stick to Topo Chico. The fajitas are the best in the Humble/Kingwood area but the menu is pricey. Salsa and green sauce are always good and I love how thin the chips are.
