Very clean place fast Service great food hospitality was good very professional and OK price for the food

I haven't been to a Bakers Square in YEARS! But while we were out looking at Christmas lights, the nostalgia bug hit, and I decided to take my kiddos! This is a very family friendly place! There is a fair amount of free parking and when you first walk in, you are greeted by what feels like a bakery, small kitchen feel! Love the upgrade! The hostess was very sweet and quick! For my over weight friends that worry about fitting into a booth, there are also tables!! :) The place was very clean! Our server was wonderful but honestly all of the servers seemed to be helping one another and everyone that came to our table was just great!! There is a kids menu to crayons! Both of my boys ordered the chocolate chip pancakes! One got a side of rice and the other got a bacon strip. The pancakes are large! Honestly they could have split the 2 pancakes and I could had added another strip of bacon! Just know you can split these meals as there are generous portions! I got the stir fry pita- the veggies and chicken were delicious! The pita was soft and I got some ranch to dip! (They have good ranch here!) the fries were crispy and had salt and pepper on them! On Wednesday, they do free pie!! Talk to your server but I believe you just have to get a meal! We got pumpkin, banana cream and French silk! All were as good as I remember! The server was not very good. She was abrupt while taking our orders, she acted as though we were an inconvenience, she didn't follow up very well. The food had to be sent back because it was not prepared how it was requested. Took a long time to get our pies to go. She sent someone else to finally give us the bill. She didn't come to us so we tried to pay at the front and we're sent back to "pay the server at the table " she was again giving a not pleasant attitude, impatient, crabby. This place was a pleasant surprise and it reminded me of my grandson's favorite place in Colorado. We drive by here all the time but have never stopped by. We wanted breakfast one morning before we drove downtown. We were seated quickly and our waitress came by almost immediately. She was friendly and ready to answer any questions. My husband had the California skillet and I had a veggie omelette. I was so impressed with my omelette. It was full of vegetables. There was just a bit of cheese which was perfect for me but if you like a cheesy omelette I would suggest getting extra. It had kind of a homey feel. People seemed very comfortable. There was a variety of people. We will definitely bring our grandson when he visits this summer. read more

Not too many of these locations left. Still has the old nostalgia of a family restaurant with the best pies! The menu is still traditional family friendly American food. The customers are older and in family groups. It reminds me when I used to come here as a kid. I still love the pies! Tried the seasonal Cherries Jubilee. Stopped in for lunch with friends. The food was okay We all had the Reuben sandwich with various sides. The sandwiches were okay, but in the world of Reubens, these could use some work. 2 of the 4 had big gristle chunks. Our server was good, personable and prompt. The ambiance wasn't anything special but the restaurant seemed clean, so that's a win. Probably best as a pie stop. read more

Ok... we lucked out and showed up on Free pie Wednesday and the place was super busy! Food is as I remembered it from 15 + years ago... I always got the chicken avocado melt with fries and on wheat bread. I was so happy it stayed consistent and still on the menu! The interior was a blast from the past too... not many locations left. We had an amazing server! He was fast and efficient. Plus he reminded me of Patrick Swayze. (Yes, I told him that) hahaha but he did! Overall, we might be back for free pie Wednesday when I get a craving for my sandwich again. Their wheat bread is so good and it has a chicken breast, avocado and mushrooms... it's not overly flavorful but comforting and that bread! Sis and I wanted Sunday brunch. After striking out at 2 other places in Anoka, we remembered CR has a Baker's Square. Even though the parking lot looked busy, we were still able to find a parking spot. And after a short 15 min wait, we were sat at a clean booth. Our waitress, Beth, was friendly. We looked at the menu during our 15 min wait, so our order was taken right away, along with our beverages. And we didn't have to wait long before our food was delivered to the table. Sis got her eggs benedict. She was happy with it and her perfectly crispy hashbrowns. I wanted to try biscuits and gravy and found them as an option when ordering the Baker's Four. Pick 4 of many listed options. I did 2 scrambled eggs, 2 sausage links, breakfast potatoes, and the biscuit with gravy. It was good and served its breakfast purpose. The potatoes were soft inside and crunch outside but could be seasoned just a tich more. The gravy was okay but I've had better. Even though I saw ground sausage in the gravy, it lacked depth of flavor, richness. Paying the bill was easy table-side with a handheld CC machine. read more

Went in today, was rudely talked to for whatever reason the manger GLORY was going through, never had a problem with the workers, we came in and when we was up next to place a order to go she walked from us to go help the white people that came in after us to be seated and when we told her we was here before them she got loud and started getting smart as if we did something ti her, then I spoke with the male manager telling him the issue that accrued he seems as if he didn't care looking at me with a blank stair and I asked for corporate number he told me he didn't know which he does because he's a manger. read more

I could not believe one still around The stores are old. Worn chairs, booths need shampooing on the back upholstery and pies got smaller . The original pie oven in front very worn. Display case nice but limited variety. There is a limited selection now and some of the original menu items. But not the same. No music on, Service was good. They use plastic plates now. Sugar all over booth seat. We took two pieces home. It $5.25 per slice and the pies are now 8 inch not 10 . Once home we ate Banana crème which was exactly like original pies just smaller. The oven screams. The high pitched whistle that comes from their pie oven is horrendous. I'd you are not deaf it will bother you if you're not in the very back of the restaurant by the bathrooms. The food isn't great. Service is slow because they've been understaffed since about 1998. This is corporate food at its worst. I live in a senior living community. An occasion occurred during the holidays, which invited the residents to bring a dessert to a festive celebration. Not being able to bake at the moment, I purchased a pie from BAKER Square pie to go. I was so embarrassed when that power was cut. I love Baker Square normally. But usually I go there for dinner, when the service is always very good so is the food. Today I stopped for lunch and it was not as good as normal. The server was somewhat in attentive. I was there for 10 minutes before anyone even brought me a glass of water. I had a crush burger, which was mediocre Best. The bun was a little stale, and it was not the best burger that I've ever had. Our server wasn't overly attentive, even though the restaurant was not very busy. There was maybe six or seven tables full and there was at least two servers and maybe more. Once we were done eating it was almost 15 minutes before I could get her attention and get our check. This gets 5 stars because they have great staff here, always warm and welcoming, which is kind of hard to find nowadays. Also, the food is always served hot and fresh at a reasonable time. They have a great breakfast menu, and the time we went for dinner was great as well! My wife and I also come here for single slices of pie after dinner. The French silk pie is exceptional, and my go to when I'm craving creamy chocolate. But the country apple pie is my absolute favorite. I miss Bakers Square. We used to eat here weekly for work and seen it slowly slipping and slipping. I was suppose to bring pies for thanksgiving so I ran over to grab a pie(s) and now they close early. Was going to grab a sandwich. Nope no food. Only pies to go. Ok. Where's the menu for pies. Here. Why is it only 1/3 of the stuff on there? Cause we don't make it any more. No pumpkin? Yes we have that but it's not on the menu. Wow. Supposedly this is the place to go for the best pies in America -- well I beg to differ. They obvious never tasted any of my Grandmother's pies. We came here solely for the pies and nothing else. So my review is limited. But I will say the pies are ok at best. They are too rich in sugar, baked with artificial ingredients and just too sweet. The staff are lovely, which helps to wash down the overly sweet pies. And because of them I'll give this place another try (someday). read more

I ordered take-out and they sent me the wrong food. So I called Baker's Square and talked to a woman. She causally said, "Sometimes these things happen." What infuriated me is that they offered NO compensation for my inconvenience. So I decided NOT to be a returning customer. You know. "These things happen!" A different manager called and apologized for the wrong take-out order. He also sent me a certificate for a free meal. So I decided to give them another chance and a much better rating. read more

I have to upgrade these guys to 3 stars. My wife and I stopped in today because we were getting new tires installed next door. So we had an hour to kill. The pie was great. But the hot food was pretty boring. It came out quick and hot. But it's about what you'd get at Perkins...or Embers...or Baker's Square. You get the idea. The service was very good and the staff were all super nice. I don't know how Baker's Square is still in business. I drive by all the time and there never seems to be anyone here! The management is missing a golden opportunity not trying to market--somehow--to all the people getting their tires changed only about 100 feet away. When my wife and I were at Discount Tires at 3:15pm, we counted 9 people sitting in the lobby looking very tired and very bored and probably very hungry! Bakers square is always a great place to go with a large group. They have large booths and tables so accommodating large parties is easy! The location in Coon Rapids is always crowded on Wednesday's for pie night (free pie with a purchase of an entree) but otherwise the wait is not bad. I ordered a Hot chocolate to start and it came in a nice mug with whip cream on the top. If your looking for something warm but don't want caffeine I would recommend this! For dinner I got the stir fry. The vegetables were tasty but the chicken seemed cold and lacked seasoning. They have a variety of menu items which is always nice in a big group. Every time I come to this place the service is great, and so is the food! Usually get the bacon lovers BLT but, the grownup grilled cheese is also good, and the hamburgers are delicious as well. I would recommend this place if your looking for a peaceful breakfast or lunch. read more

The pies are great! The french silk is to die for. The food is a good price for what you get. The honey mustard sauce is particularly good. The service is friendly. When we went, there was a face painting station and an Easter bunny walking around, pretty fun. Good family restaurant. read more
