We were I. Portland for meetings. We came to Escape Games PDX for a team building outing…read more The staff here was nice and explained the games to us before we went in. During the game play we could ask for clues, we needed many, ha, ha. The clues they gave were helpful and helped us push on to eventually solve it with only less than a minute on the clock. We did the Tales from the Attic room. I won't give away any of the room, I will only say it was kind of like a mystery game of hang man to fill in the clues as we found them. It was different than other escape rooms I have done, but it was fun figuring out the clues to fill in the puzzles. I believe they have 4 different escape rooms here and I am sure they are all just as fun. If you are looking for a fun group activity, work outing, birthday party, etc. I would recommend an escape room and if in the Portland area check out Escape Games PDX. If you solve the game, you can pick a little key trinket as well and go up in the leader board if you solve it fast enough. We unfortunately did not make the leader board. Enjoy!

We did the Prison Heist room because a couple of us had never done an Escape Room before and it seemed like a perfect starter room. Loved that the room is non-linear and the clues were all cohesive. You had a choice of dressing the part as they had inmate costumes readily available. The door is never locked so you can get out if needed. Also, for this room, there is no clock. Your gamemaster will let you know once you have 30 and 10 minutes left. Jake gave us fantastic clues and didn't make us feel like idiots for asking. I feel like we asked for only maybe a handful of clues. We escaped with about 11 minutes to spare. Loved that they had merch for each specific room. Makes it easier to grab a souvenir. We also were able to pick out a tiny key as our prize for escaping. Cute touch. Good job, Escape Games PDX!

We loved how easy it was to get started, how comfortable the VR headsets were, and the amazing variety of games available. The selection gave us a wide range of VR experiences, and we appreciated how this setup encouraged movement and prevented motion sickness. Jason was incredible--he guided us through the process over the microphone whenever we got stuck or confused and was so generous with our booked time. He also captured lots of great photos and videos for us, creating a warm, fun, and comfortable environment for VR. We'll definitely be back again!

Despite having a large group of 10 people, found it challenging and everyone had a chance to keep themselves busy. Unique puzzles and locks, awesome story to accompany, and a great game master. When you see the entrance, you already know they put in effort to make this whole room work and you're going to have a good time. Great attention to detail, everything was in working order (with exception of getting in but that's not their fault as someone recently broke it, but this had nothing to do with the game itself and was more a novelty which was cool). Highly recommended and have not been impressed like this in a long time. This unfortunately set the bar unrealistically high for some first timers in our group haha, but now they're hooked to try other games too.

The young female working the front was very nice and patient with us when we had questions while she was explaining the rules to us. The puzzles were clever, challenging, and required real teamwork, but nothing felt impossible or unfair. There were a few twists we didn't see coming, which kept the whole experience exciting from start to finish. We were able to get out of the escape room in 47 mins! This is definitely something I would recommend doing with friends or even with family. They have a couple kid-friendly escape rooms that we want to bring our friend's teenage daughter to do.

When you've done a number of escape rooms, I feel as though they can sometimes become formulaic and you're just trying to solve puzzles in the same way as you always have. This room required us to think outside of what we knew about prior escape rooms and had solves that we hadn't seen other places. Our Game Master was also very friendly and even gave us a few extra minutes to escape the room since one of the puzzles had not functioned properly and because we were very close to escaping.
