This was just an okay Indian spot off Topanga Canyon. I came with a friend for dinner Thursday night around 7:30 pm and it wasn't crowded at all. Just one other table was occupied. There's limited parking in the back alley. We were planning to order an appetizer but they were quite pricey, in many cases the same price as the entrees, so we skipped that and went straight to the entrees. We shared the paneer tikka masala ($15) with one tandoori roti and the Hyderabadi chicken dum biryani ($18). The flavor of the paneer tikka masala was good, but it didn't have enough paneer pieces imo. It was too much gravy. Same for the biryani, which didn't have enough chicken. It came with a ton of rice and only two small chicken pieces and no other veggies. The flavor for the biryani was okay, but personally it was a bit too spicy for me as I'm a complete wimp when it comes to spice, so I was struggling to eat it. This restaurant has never, I repeat, never, disappointed me. I'd rate them higher than any other I fun restaurant in LA. If you want authentic indian flavors this place is a must. I remember in the early 2010s paradise biryani used to have commercials during cricket matches to attract desi crowds. That strangely worked on me and I've been a loyal customer since. Typical run of the mill Indian restaurant with similar interior like many other Indian restaurants in the SFV, but their food is hand down the best. Have almost tried all their dishes over the years and the quality is surprisingly consistent no matter the item. Definitely a go to for the price and deliciousness. One of the authentic South Indian food in the valley that serves meat dishes. Their chicken tikka masala and egg curries were delicious. They are typically on the spicy side. If you like spicier food, this is the place. Their dum biryani and different types of naan's were flavorful. On the flip side, their service is awful. Typical of an Indian restaurant. You must keep getting the waiter's attention even when they are not Busy. You have to ask for water, utensils, etc. I prefer to pick up rather than eat there. Most people order for pickup. read more

Paradise Biryani has pretty delicious food and you can also find some special South Indian Non-Vegetarian dishes here. My family's go to appetizer at this restaurant is the Apollo Fish and they make a decent quantity to be able to share with others. We also often get their Chicken Chettinad - this is a non-vegetarian dish which you probably won't be able to find at North Indian restaurants. On our most recent visit, we tried the Paradise Shrimp curry which was decent. I think they could work a bit more on their garlic naan - it can be a bit thin and needs to have more garlic. Service can also improve as well here since they forgot to bring us our rice and we decided to have it removed from our order in the end. However, I do think this a pretty decent place to get authentic Indian food in the valley! read more

This updated review of Paradise Biriyani Pointe is at the same level as my past review about this Indian restaurant that specializes in biryani and other dishes. This time we tried vindaloo chicken curry, explosive flavors with great taste. We also had chicken Karahi, which was superb. The chicken just melted in your mouth. The cut Mirchi (deep fried, battered chiles cut into pieces). This is one of my favorites at any restaurant, and that came with a green chutney, which was fantastic, and of course the special Paradise chicken biryani was exceptional. My only complaint about this place is related to me. I do not visit this place often.....I seem to have forgotten how excellent this restaurant is .....and can be a class by itself. read more

Glaring Looks with a Side of Racism Served Free! Our party of 4 professional African Americans stepped into the restaurant and immediately received "the look." You know the one you get when you enter a room you're not supposed to be in? It came from the dining patrons AND the staff. Wouldn't know what they had on their menu because we never received one. We were waved over to a cramped table closest to the door. Everyone else was being served. It was busy, but not once did we receive a "hello," "welcome," or "be right with you,"- nothing. In fact, not one staff ever approached our table. While waiting, a couple came in and was immediately greeted, seated and given menus. They were light complected Asians. At this point, I walked to the front and asked for menus. The man who waived us in, jumped, acting frightened, and another who was dishing plates said he'd be right with us. After another 5 minutes it became apparent they were not interested in serving us because they continued service to others and the menus STILL didn't come. We walked out. Total time wasted, approximately 20 minutes. I'm a 58 year old, black female entrepreneur from the South who moved here 6 years ago. There's no mistaking this type of behavior for what it is. Had a chance to try their newly launched buffet (12/8) at 1:30PM I called in earlier to check their menu, the person who answered the phone seemed very distracted and paused talking in between and started humming songs. I came to the restaurant by that time only 4-5 people were having their buffet. Their menu had a maximum of 10 items and Tandoori chicken/ desert/chicken biryani were not refilled. Ordered chicken biryani and shrimp varuval yesterday (4/28) . The biryani was stale and the shrimp had no taste or salt. We have ordered a few times in the past couple of months and honestly it's a hit or miss. I agree with some of the other reviewers on the freshness of food. All I can say is "delicious!!!" I would actually eat at the restaurant because the biryani is fresh. I ordered the goat biryani and it was fantastic. It was perfect. Downgrading to 1 star. We ordered on the phone to pick up, and on the phone the man who answered sounded super distracted. I asked him to repeat the order, he never responded and hung up. We went to pick up our order, and they had totally messed it up. We always check before picking up, and he had given us Chicken 65 when I had clearly asked for Gobi 65. That's fine, mistakes happen it was over the phone. He didn't even BOTHER to apologize for the mistake, nothing. He was super careless. I will never return to this place. This is the one biggest negative about most Indian places. Customer service is the worst. They don't care about how they treat anyone, because others go to their places anyway. read more

I am a regular (generally takeout) here (special biryani is my fav) but today I decided to eat in the restaurant. Firstly, terrible service. After waiting for 30mins, when asked upon twice, my food arrived and chicken lollipop (used to be one of my favs) was burnt from outside. They were black (see attached pic). We have been eating in this restaurant the last two years, and Off late the food has been inconsistent. However, always have them the benefit of doubt since I understand the kitchen can have bad day every now and then. We ordered take out of Paradise chicken fry, Chettinad chicken curry, Garlic Butter Naan, and Gobi Manchurian on 26th December for dinner and to say the restaurant has gone from bad to worse is an understatement. They just don't seem to care anymore about their food now. The so called specialty- 'Paradise Chicken Fry' was so bad that we threw most of it in the trash. The chettinad chicken curry was supposed to be spicy like we wanted but it was under seasoned and had no taste. I had to season it myself to make it edible.
