To start off, coming here I already had low expectations. You guys have to understand there is no mixed food buffets out here in San Diego anymore. Especially now that Barona is gone! I was a little skeptical to try the sushi section at first but glad that they roll it in front of everyone. Yesterday, August 3, 2026, I visited this buffet for the first time after being invited by my elderly parents and several of their friends, who are all in their late 70s and have spoken highly of this restaurant over the years. We were celebrating my mother's birthday and arrived around 2:29 PM. The restaurant was busy with many senior customers, the buffet offered a wide variety of food, and it seemed like it would be a wonderful afternoon. Unfortunately, our experience took a very upsetting turn. While we were eating, a manager or owner approached our table and, in a loud voice, accused my elderly mother of serving herself lemonade from the beverage machine without paying. My mother calmly explained that she had only filled her cup with water and squeezed fresh lemon slices into it. Instead of quietly resolving the misunderstanding, the manager brought over cups containing lemonade and continued insisting that my mother had taken lemonade from the machine. This created an embarrassing scene in front of our entire table and nearby guests. I respectfully asked if we could step aside and discuss the matter privately, explaining that we were not trying to take anything without paying. I also mentioned that my parents are longtime customers and that this was my first visit. Unfortunately, the conversation remained confrontational, and I left feeling that the situation could have been handled with much more professionalism and compassion. The experience was especially difficult because my parents are elderly. My 87-year-old father became extremely distressed, and what should have been a joyful birthday celebration for my mother turned into an uncomfortable and embarrassing experience for everyone at our table. The buffet offers plenty of food choices, but after being publicly confronted and embarrassed, it's hard to enjoy a meal. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this restaurant. Every customer deserves to be treated with dignity and respect, especially senior citizens. If there is ever a concern, it should be addressed discreetly and professionally rather than through a public accusation. I sincerely hope management reflects on how situations like this are handled in the future so that no other family has to experience what ours did. read more

First time here. Was in the area so I thought I'd give it a shot. Should have went to Chick-fil-A. Completely overpriced, even the Senior prices are no deal. Orange Chicken was disgusting, and was extremely spicy, should have noted that. The Beef Broccoli was a close second, and had a fishy taste to it. The Pot Roast was average, mashed potatoes were terrible, corn was mushy. Best part of my meal was the Apple Crisp with Vanilla Ice Cream on top. They couldn't even get the Soda right as I tried to get Coke Zero at both stations, and Lemonade came out. Joined my cousins for dinner at this local buffet. Normally I wouldn't post anything but the food is pretty decent and the offerings are better than the most. I don't have local Chinese buffets near me that offer Prime rib anymore so it brings back memories of hometown buffet. The pizza is decent compared to most chinese buffets and so are the carrot cake. I was so happy when I found this buffet restaurant. After the pandemic there's not many buffets out here in San Diego. This has been my go to for the past year since I discovered it. The food is good, lots of variety, I really like their wok station it's my favorite! The price is great. Seniors get discounts, my parents are regulars there. Must I say i haven't ate at a buffet for a long time. We came on a Sunday. There was a lot of ppl actually. I feel like a buffet is nice cuz it you can decide what you wanna eat you have quite a few options! The inside definitely has a lot of seating and was a bit dim. But honestly we came to eat. And despite it being full we found a table pretty quick!!! For food I tried a little of everything. Personally I give it a 3/5 for overall food. My aunts and uncles gave it a 5/5. On 01/06/26 2:30pm I went to paradise buffet the line was long and the line was inside noticed there was two lines side by side. I got in line, a lady from the register walked up to me and in a very stern rude voice said the line is outside & she was only telling me and my friend. Another lady walked up to us manager Diana came up to us and was very flustered and yelling said the line is outside. She then opened the door and was telling the clients as they were walking in. I mentioned they need to have a sign and better organization & she was very rude and aggressive manner speaking loudly and you all don't listen. I couldn't believe the aggression & the way they were treating us and all the customers that were in line. Manager obviously should not be a manager if she can't handle customers in a decent professional respectful way. We asked to speak to a manager she said she was the manager her name is Diana. We asked to speak her supervisor or to the owner or someone above her and she refused to give info. We also asked co workers no one wanted to give owner info. What is that? Totally unacceptable and aggressive way to treat customers I have never felt so uncomfortable and so harassed. When we were paying all the workers working around the salad sushi area and the register rallied around all the customers in line all yelling and screaming at us to shut up and we don't listen it so unbelievable & outrageous! Check the cameras please it's all recorded. That's if the cameras work or were deleted. I wish could've recorded it and sent it to BBB and report it to the owner. They have cameras I hope the owner and review the footage and fire these all these aggressive violent co workers. You seriously can't beat this buffet. Especially on weekdays in lunch, the price is incredibly affordable, and I appreciate the commendations for military and senior citizens. The restaurant itself is extremely spacious and easy to seat yourself. I've been here numerous of times and never felt too overcrowded or busy. Food isn't always great, depends on who's working the kitchen, Usually Saturdays are better. Service though, horrible! The busses do nothing but chit chat and walk back n forth or wipe down tables that have already been wiped down. Unless there's a pile of 6+ plates, they won't bother to clear dirty plates. I've had to put them on tables next to me or put them in their little cubicle thing (where they clear plates) for them! They'll watch me make a tower of plates and keep gossiping and laughing. This is the only buffet that I am aware of that you have to physically go in and leave a deposit to reserve a table(s) for a party of 10 or more people. I guess that's okay if you're local, but I have never had to leave a deposit anywhere. I know now why they do this. I went in to leave a deposit. They tell you over the phone that it's $50. I told them how many people were attending. I go in and am ready to leave my deposit of $50 only for them to tell me oh, it's $100 dollars because it's over 20 people. I suck it up, knowing I'll eventually be reimbursed by knowing it'll go toward the final cost. Don't do it! Don't do it unless you're the same person who will pay the final bill on the exact same card. Someone else in my party decided to foot the bill, so I wanted my deposit refunded. They charged that someone, the cost per person, the gratuity and added the $100 on top of that because "someone else paid the deposit". At the time, they said it was "taken care of", so I was hoping to see a refund in my bank account. Nothing. A month later, nothing. I already know it's my fault for not following up. I can tell you now I won't be going back unless my group will be less than 10 people. I'd rather my money go to the food and not the reservation. read more

I don't know if I just went on and off day or what, but I was sorely disappointed by the lack of selection. We showed up around 3:30pm and waited in line for around 20 minutes, payed for 2 adult and 2 children's buffets with water, under $50, and went on our way. It was fairly crowded for a Friday afternoon but I assume everyone was trying to get the lunch price like us. We got about half way through our meal when someone finally came by to pick up our dirty plates and I asked if we could get our waters. She said the gentleman at the front should have given us cups and we were to fill them ourselves (different procedure than the regular buffet we go to) so I had to walk back to the front (we were in the back) and get the cups that should've been given to us when we first got there. Small inconvenience, I know, but worth noting if you plan to visit. As far as the food goes, after looking at the YELP pics I was excited for their meat selection, unfortunately there was no octopus, no prime rib, no pork chops or crab as shown in pictures. The only red meat they had to offer was pot roast, which I'd rate 2/5. The sushi selection was ok, lots of verities offered, but it smelt odd (almost like cilantro, which was off-putting for sushi), and was room temperature, I'd rate 3/5. The fruit selection was disappointing, canned peaches, sliced oranges and jello; I know this isn't a big deal to most, but I had bribed my youngest with watermelon and strawberries (because our normal asian buffet has them) I'd rate 1/5. Honestly, the hibachi grill is the only real redeeming aspect of this place, 5/5 for that. The day we went it was only in the low 60's outside but probably in the high 70's inside the restaurant. I asked the lady clearing the plates if the AC was on and she simply said she didn't know and walked off. It was definitely warmer than I like, but it is what it is. The only thing that had me somewhat hopeful as I ate dinner was the desert selection, it looked promising, multiple cobblers, ice cream, a decent pie selection and I saw a cotton candy machine and assumed someone would start making that since we were getting into the dinner hours. Unfortunately I was once again disappointed, by the time we went to get dessert, the ice cream machine was "out of order", the pies were room temperature, which might not bother most, but it was pretty offputting for the cream pies especially when the dining area was as warm as it was, and no one ever came to make cotton candy. Now I will say, the things I saw people complain about in the reviews on here were dirty plates/utensils/cups and dirty/odd smelling restrooms. I didn't encounter issues with either. The plates/utensils seemed clean, as was the women's restroom. Unfortunately I don't think we'll be coming back, while the price was nice, it was only about $6 cheaper (for my family) than my regular asian buffet, and I think I rather pay a little more for a better selection. read more

One of my favourite buffets so far and highly recommend if you just came from sesame place with your kids because that's what we did. We had a long day at Sesame Street place and their food was absolutely awful there and extremely over priced. So we decided to try this all you can eat buffet 12 mins away from the park after and were not disappointed! It was only $19.99 for an adult and $1.95 for kids under 4 and only 4.95 for my 4 year old kid. TOTALLY WORTH IT! The best priced buffet for what you get I think. They had sushi, prime rib, roast, ceviche, traditional Chinese, things for kids like macaroni cheese, pizza, ice cream machine, cotton candy maker. And of course they are known for their special make it fresh Mongolian bbq. Their food was really good for buffet food! Comparable to Las Vegas I would say. However, I did find a hair in the carrot cake so I would suggest they double check their bakers are wearing hair nets.
