We've been taking friends here since it first opened. The atmosphere is great and we love that it's accessible by water. But with each visit, the service gets worse. We brought a group of friends last weekend and sat down at a table. Our server took about 10 mins to come by the table for our drink orders but we didn't mind. It was pretty busy. With each drink or ketchup request, it seemed like our server would get more annoyed. Long waits between drinks, was frustrated that we paid check with more than one card, etc. (get over it- we tip 25%). This weekend we gave it another chance. Huge mistake. Went on Friday- wasn't busy. Sat at the first bar off the docks and there were 3 bartenders behind the bar. One was actually working. One young woman stood there with her sunglasses on and constantly texting while her customers needed drinks. The gentlemen messed up our drink orders right away and didn't seem to care about our experience. Lots of employees hanging around at al times. Where is a manager? During a previous visit, a bartender made a comment that their boss doesn't care about her (it was a really hot day and I suggested she put a fan on to cool down). To the manager- if you don't care, your employees will know, and neither will they! You are wasting a money maker opportunity. I'll be taking our large check, 25% tipping group to hammerheads next time. We will try again next year- hope PG managers get it together. read more

We stopped in on a Monday night, it was burger night so I thought I should stick with the special. The food is about the same quality you would get at a bowling alley. Frozen patties, small simple menu. We also got the pulled pork sandwich, it went bun, pork, bbq sauce dropped on top, and then bun. Mix the sauce with the meat, how long would that take 30 seconds.. Come on!!!! They should honestly be embarrassed by the food they serve. This place is huge and has an amazing venue. Beautiful views, sand under your feet, cute outside seating, tikis, great staff. We have been to Paradise a handful of time by boat and by car. It's absolutely a beautiful place! However I would say it's expensive with very high wait times and average food. After several attempts at eating dinner I would really only recommend coming here for entertainment and drinks. Great play area and ice cream for kids just too long of a wait for lunch or dinner. Nobody mentioned this place is at the back of a glorified trailer park. It's a pretty cool spot though. We arrived at 5:00 on a Saturday. Wait for a table was 45 min. It was fine though since we were able to grab a few drinks from the bar while the kids waded in the bay at the little "beach" there. Then we were seated and we saw first hand why there are so many bad reviews. The service is pretty horrible. The food took forever to come out and looking around, we weren't alone. Seems like the place is so big, the kitchen probably has a hard time keeping up. The wait staff also needs better organization and management. We rarely saw our server and she seemed very inefficient in working her tables. Don't understand why since there were food runners. Anyways...long story short...great place for drinks and hang out. This has become a pretty hot spot for locals and folks that want to avoid the crowds in Rehoboth/Lewes/Dewey. Location is stunning, though parking was already getting sketchy at 6pm on a Saturday. Had a grapefruit crush which was a tad weak. Shared some Thai wings to start; a touch over cooked, but still good. I had linguine with clams which was fresh, but needed a little punch to balance the garlic and parsley. My wife had a crabcake sandwich which she enjoyed but certainly wasn't the best she ever had. $52 for our two entrées and the appetizer plus my drink. Service wasn't glowing, but wasn't a detractor either. I would go back there as a social outing with friends but not necessarily make a date night out of it. read more

Gave this place another whirl and made sure to eat before hand. I will say it's really nice next to the water. This day was almost 100 degrees so they had no frozen drinks due to it being too hot for the drink machines. Um, hand blend? I guess that is unheard of. I can see when it gets really crowded not being able to do that but we got a table right away and there were empties all over. We had to walk up and get a frozen drink at a lime a rita station. it was 14.00 when you got the extra floater! it was strong but why did some drink machines work and not the others? It was all very confusing and I had to track someone down to get my bill. No hurry to go back here. read more

Wow. Was service horrible... 8.29.16 @ raw bar the slowest moving bartenders. Ignoring multiple people, they had to ask twice for their drinks or change etc. . I am hoping they are new .. We were at the raw bar at 2 pm which would seem to be a slow time ... Dewey beach bartenders crank out double this crowd with a smile. Very disappointed with service and atmosphere a bunch of old heads. On the bright side nachos were good. And easily shared by two people. read more

The only reason this is getting two stars is because of the atmosphere and live music. Great place to go to if you're looking for a bar. There was a reasonable 45 minute wait considering we arrived at 6pm on a Friday. All of the food we ordered was almost marginal. We had clams, shrimp and mozzarella sticks to start. Chicken fingers, grilled chicken deluxe, Ahi and some other stuff were all a disappointment. Not one meal was eaten fully. Waitress and staff were very pleasant and the place is very cool. Ok so we have eaten with this group ( they have this location and are on site at Massey's Landing campground). This year they have taken the clam strips off the menu. First thumbs down. We ate at the grill twice in the past week. I got the crab bisque ( good portion of lump crab but the base needs work) and the salmon with jasmine rice and a curry cream( first, the filet was a nice size but deep fried!!! There were little slits all along the top, so the deep frying make the entire filet crunchy. The cream sauce was so-so, not a lot of flavor. The rice..... MUSH! All my excitement deflated, especially with a $23 price tag. Second trip was yesterday. Last day of Flouder Pounder. Now they have been marketing this tournament as the "largest flounder tournament in the world" for months so they clearly know that there is a huge turnout for the week and especially the final day. They had a very young girl working the hostess stand (11 years old max) who got into an argument with me over whether a table was available for seating or not. I found a manager and was told "we are so understaffed that I have everybody doing everything " we waited an hour and a half for a table when there were tables wide open the whole time. You know it's a huge event, make sure you have the staff. Now I am not at all unfamiliar with the restaurant business. I worked back and front of the house through high school and college in high volume restaurants. Ok back to the food yesterday. Our server was fantastic!!! Crab dip. Now this was a one and a half thumbs up. Bread bowl was scooped out with a darn good amount of tasty crab dip. But it's served with tortilla chips. MD crab soup, tasted like vinegar water as if they had a added water to stretch it out. But once again had a lot of crab, mainly claw, but still a lot. The bistro salad was huge ( btw the portion at the spot at ML is half the size for the same price) tons for shredded Asiago and walnuts and four slices of Granny Smith apples. My BIL got the Chesapeake burger, it was so dry that the ton of crab dip on top couldn't make-up for it. Sister got the crab cake sand and said it was amazing. read more

This used to be a really nice place to go with your family. The service has always been lacking but the food was decent and the target market was still centered on families. It seems like the last 3 visits (summer 2017) it's turning into a Long Neck wanna be "Secrets". A lot of intoxicated early to mid 20 folks with NO filters for little ears. It is a shame that with so many large communities so close by that Paradise would make this switch. The food and service was horrible (all 3 visits), however, it is a GREAT place for watered down, expensive drinks. We went to get ice cream after dinner (because I sent my meal back 3xs and just gave up) and there were drunken half dressed girls at the ice cream parlor smoking cigarettes, so we left. During the summer the place is pretty crowded. The attraction is the water view, and the fact that you can pull your boat right up. Atmosphere is great!! Can't get better than waterfront, sand and palm trees!! Drinks are ok. I expect the drinks to be on the pricey side, but it's worth it for the atmosphere. The band playing on the stage was not very good. No one dancing. Hard to dance to Me and Bobby McGee. I have been there before where the band ( 3am Tokyo) was so good, they had everyone on the floor, including the children. Where I deducted the two stars is because of the over priced food. There is no way to justify over paying for mediocre food. The crab dip came out cold, the chicken (5.99 extra) on my salad was almost non existent. Even the ice cream shack has gotten more expensive. Having read some of the reviews I can imagine that the long waits and average food can be a terrible experience. I was there on a thursday night after labor day. It was quiet. Staff service was intent, polite and aproachable. Atmosphere was awesome. Food was good and tasty if not exactly original. I had a burger cooked as I wanted it. Pulled pork and fish and chips were well received by other members of my group. Beer comes in plastic cups and the cups are small...which seemed a little lame. My girlfriends and I had an amazing time here this past weekend! The stage was like nothing I have ever seen before at an outdoor venue. First we had dinner and our server Sergei was really sweet, funny and attentive ! He was running around like Usain Bolt to take care of us and aton of other people! We spilt abunch of Apps and, each one was better than the next! We really enjoyed the nachos, and steamed shrimp! After Dinner we headed over to the bar area to watch the band and,we had amazing time watching the band and fireworks. Our Bartender Johnny was really attentive and fun to he made us these huge drinks in abucket called Paradise Potion and, they were so good especially on a hot day Highly recommend checking it out ! Food is absolutely terrible. Great local spot for drinks and nightlife which is why I'm giving it 3 stars. Its basically a mini Secrets in Ocean City, Maryland; minus the tourists and rude PA and NJ crews. They close up early so be prepared to end the night around 11:30-midnight due to the community rules. We went on a Tuesday around 4. The place was dead but filled up quickly. The place is huge and the view and atmosphere were gorgeous! The staff was extremely friendly and very attentive. We ordered a margarita and an orange crush, both were very watered down! We ordered crab dip that was delish. It was served in a bread bowl with colored tortilla chips...I thought it was better with the bread bowl rather than the tortillas. The best Bar/Restaurant in Long Neck. It has a wonderful vies of Indian River Bay with plenty of docks, so you can come by boat. The staff is very friendly and do a great job service wise. I'm a glutton for punishment ----- despite my repeat requests for it hot, it inevitably comes old cold (no, not even room temperature) and have to send it back...again and again. Today I thought we had a sympathetic bartender and she walked the order, and the subsequent return of the order, to the kitchen. The concept of Paradise Island is a great one! Unfortunately, they do not have the staff to support it. Our waiter accommodated our large group by providing separate checks pairing parents with their children. The issue was, that we were told by the manager, that the waiter forgot to enter several orders into the system. The waiter did not want to throw his manager under the bus so he just apologized. The food came out in shifts, so our group ate in shifts. Unfortunately for 4 of us our orders did not get entered. By the time we got our meals they were closing the restaurant. Food was cold.
