Have been to Paradise Grill five times, arriving by boat. The deck hands are handy and welcoming. The atmosphere is fun and tropical. This place has expanded greatly this year, I'm sure that has been challenging. In spite of the expansion and frequent full houses, we have experienced nothing but friendly and attentive service. The food is good, but we mostly go for the atmosphere. Kids love the play area and ice cream bar. The new open-air restroom is phenomenal! We will return often. Three stars for food, four stars for atmosphere and service. read more

I like Paradise Grill because it is on the water, offers free boat docking, is large and has a nice layout, has good music, and the buildings are of quality materials and construction. I don't like Paradise Grill because the food is not very good and over priced, and even though there are usually several open tables in multiple sections, you have to put your name on a waiting list, and the hostesses aren't very friendly. Paradise Grill is located on the beach with tons of fun activities to do such as a playground and cornhole. They also had amazing live music. It was very busy and our wait was 40 mins, luckily we walked over to the bar someone was just leaving at a bar table so we could take that one. The service was fairly fast and the people were very nice as well. The food was great but the food was very expensive. First time visiting your place Saturday September 16. Unfortunately it was not a pleasant experience. Had to walk almost a mile from where motorcycles were "allowed" to park due to discriminative restrictions. Not cool, but we respect. We were met by "chief of security" and asked to again move our bikes which were already in that segregated area due to impending employee shift change. Though another inconvenience, in his defense, he couldn't have been a nicer person. Again, we complied as we respect. We were told bikes are not welcome in this community due to its "elite" environment. The walk through was anything but elite. Overgrown trees, unmaintained landscaping and scattered trash surround your mobile home (trailer) community. Our motorcycles would have actually added a nice touch of curb appeal. Several residents on golf carts passed and were very friendly. We asked at least 3 for menu recommendations. All 3 rated the food about a 2 on a scale of 1 to 5. We arrived at the restaurant and were told to seat ourselves though we witnessed local residence being escorted by hostess. As we sat while waiting for our order we witnessed a large mouse make it's getaway from your kitchen area. No shuttle was provided to or from the restaurant though we were told they are available. We suggested to the friendly "golf cart" residents they should seriously consider doing their own shuttling service next year as we "bikers" would more than tip them well. The atmosphere was wonderful, the staff friendly and accommodating. I went during happy hour and enjoyed $1.00 oysters at the raw bar and discounted drink prices. I highly recommend the passion fruit punch! The view from the bar was Breathtaking! The breeze from the bay made you forget it was over 90°. Being at the beach you expect higher prices. On the other hand the food wasn't brought out correctly and prices didn't reflect expected quality. Uninterested serves who would rather countdown to go home then worry about making a living, they hire 15 year olds that don't understand any work ethic at all, overheard many young girls working at the tshirt stand complaint they didn't tell them they were closing yet, funnel cake stand and ice cream stand all closed early but only had to offer pre made funnel cakes but wouldn't serve anything else with in their business hours, mind you there was a line and they totally would have made a profit but I guess they don't care about that. I understand the prior reviews on the food, and while I have to agree with some, I will say they are improving. They are adding specials everyday and what goes over well, might go onto the permanent menu. I had the pastrami special today and it was the best pastrami sandwich I've ever had. You could smell it cooking from the parking lot and it was yummy and lean! Please keep trying new things Paradise, and when you get good feedback, stay with it and don't change it. If you don't have good food, you will lose your customers (no matter how good the atmosphere)! read more

We had heard some positive comments about this place and decided to try it out today. On the positive side, the venue is beautiful, right on the water with beautiful views. It reminded us of bars in the Keys. The food was awful. The fish and chips consisted of a piece of 'fish' that was 75% greasy breading with a slimy white coating on the 1/4" thick piece of fish that was well hidden inside. The tartar sauce was right out of a jar of commercial bulk bottles of bland sauce. The fish sandwich was equally bad with a big kaiser roll and a big piece of greasy deep fried over battered fish. The salad was mediocre, the drinks overpriced and the service was awful. My recommendation: go for a drink and the view, then find someplace else to eat with decent food read more

Stopped there over the summer, was a little disappointed when I pulled in and saw the sign no motorcycles,since I was on one, but figured what the hell can only throw me out.....I pulled up to the place parked the bike and went in. The atmosphere is beautiful! The wait staff is very friendly. The food is the worst ever. My family has been coming here for years. We recently stopped in on Friday, June 28, 2019. I was shocked at how small the menu was from previous years. We ordered nachos and the Chesapeake burger. The nachos had very little cheese and the cheese had not taste it was some sort of white liquid - horrible. The burger was dry and the crab dip was runny and tasted awful. It felt like a huge lump in our stomaches after we ate. We walked around for over 30 minutes to help our stomaches feel better. The band playing on the main stage was terrible. The man singer was the worst we have ever heard. While walking around we went to the smaller bar and listened to the Girlfriends. They were incredible and should have been the main act. Unfortunately, while walking to the small bar area there are two steps my sandals caught on something on the top step and I fell. I didn't get hurt but I would recommend some small railing to be put up on the pylons to the right of the step to help someone if they should fall such as I did. If there were a railing I would have been able to catch my fall. Please bring back the old menu and cook. read more

Cool find in the coastal area of DE. Hit the happy hour with my family and it was very relaxing. Good scenery, atmosphere, drinks and food. Access from both land and water. This past weekend we stayed at a friend's house who lives in Pot Nets Bayside which is where Paradise Grill is located and we decided to have dinner Friday night at Paradise Grill. We're currently looking to buy a home in the area and after driving around on the golf cart it was really nice and especially convenient to be able to pull right up to the restaurant and have a nice dinner. We had to wait about 20 minutes for a table which was perfect since our significant others hadn't arrived yet and I got the impression that the entire party needs to be present in order to be seated. We got the Bruschetta with crab meat on the side since my friend doesn't like seafood and it was delicious and they definitely didn't skimp on the crabmeat. For my dinner I went with the Pan Seared Scallops at the suggestion of our friend and they were absolutely amazing. I've been on both a scallop and asparagus kick recently so I was thrilled to see that this dish came with grilled asparagus and was served on a creamy risotto. Hubby ordered the crab cakes and ate them so fast I never even got to try a bite but he said they were very good. I love Orange Crushes so I ordered one of theirs and had it served in the 32 oz Paradise Grill Bucket, it was okay but had a little too much soda and needed a lot more alcohol, for $16 and the size of the bucket I should have felt a little something after drinking it but I did not. The restaurant is located right on the Indian River so the view is breathtaking and you can sit at the beach and watch the sunset or take the kids to the playground area. They also have 2 stages and live bands plus they have Funnel Cake and Ice Cream Stand. This is definitely going to be a regular stop once we move here, so convenient and I would never need to leave my development. read more

Paradise Grill has a terrible management staff and they do not go above and beyond for their paying customers. For anyone that's paying their tab with a credit card make sure you SAVE YOUR RECEIPT and double check your bank statement because they added $10 to their tip after I paid even though my fiancé had paid our tip in cash. When I called to try and get a refund for the money their employees stole from me they had me running around calling different people who never returned my calls. I have been trying to resolve this "issue" for over a month now and even though I have the copy of my receipt showing what I actually paid, their management staff doesn't care and told me they can't refund money back even if they are the ones that made the mistake. I'm aware that it's only $10 but you don't take it upon yourself to just add money to someone's bill after they've paid. Extremely dissatisfied and I will be letting everyone know about their poor customer service. read more

We had dinner at Paradise this past Sunday evening. To read the menu the food sounds very good. I order the Shrimp Salad sandwich. It said homemade with Old Bay. It came I looked at it it was either canned or frozen shrimp. Tasted it was gross! I understand it is a bar night club. But the food needs to be better guilty, for what you pay. We would be regulars, but we are better off to cook at home. read more

We loved this place so much, we went 3 nights in a row. The natural scenery and beach bar vibe cannot be beat. We watched the sunset in beach chairs with drinks in hand. Only two complaints - 1 beach bar, but no mojitos. Huh? Also, as the week progressed, we heard more and more (and more) country music. Why? We are in Delaware, last I checked, lol. My aunt took me and bunch of childhood friends and their parents here, it was about 12 people. upon arrival, my uncle was told there would not be a table for our party on the side we wanted to sit on with the live music. no one would tell him why or reason with him. my friend was also feeling sick and they wouldnt allow her to sit down on a bar stool because she wasn't 21. then we waited about 30 minutes then decided to split up to sit at 2 different tables. a woman who appeared to be in charge told us she had us covered. our server took drink orders, then we ordered. waited about 45 minutes to an hour for food. our server never once did check on us. he seemed not to care about getting tipped or not, lol. fries were cold. they brought the check out immediately. when, we got home, everyone was stuck in the bathroom. only good service was from the awesome bartended who made my margarita. nice environment, really bad service and the food made us sick. read more

My wife and I live in Pot-Nets and the Paradise is just a short walk. Normally when we go out to eat we go to other restaurants near the beach or we go to Ocean City. This day we went to Paradise Grill. The atmosphere is nice but the food, uh, not so good. If I had to rate it on a scale of 1 to 10 I'd have to give it a 3. Fried Flounder, tasteless, I guess the cook, I can't say chef, doesn't know to use seasoning. Came with out any tarter sauce, hum, that should be a given. By the time we got it everything was cold. Why is it that the local restaurants on the water are complacent and don't make the effort on the food. Great location, beautiful water views comfortable surroundings, A tired clone of Ocean City's Seacrets. Our server was very nice as was everyone we met that worked there. The food was the quality of a restaurant that would soon go out of business. There is no excuse to serve a poor crab cake in this area. The internet is loaded with good recipes. Crab meat is expensive but diners at this restaurant will pay a necessary surcharge if its good. This one had special grade meat, lots of filler and no flavor. A triple play. we ordered jerk chicken and it wasn't that great. My Caesar salad wasn't dressed which is traditional and an insufficient portion of dressing based on the huge amount of lettuce and croutons. I noticed the menu had a number of menu items that other local restaurants have mastered and made popular. No creativity here. read more

The atmosphere is great. Wasn't too packed on a Sunday night in season. However, the overall experience was lackluster (considering the hype). We were scolded for taking drinks (both alcoholic and non) from a bar to the dining area. A party of 9 and a high chair was seated at booth meant for no more than 8 people. A manager noticed and told us that it shouldn't have happened. She told us she would do something, disappeared, and never returned. The food was not great. We will not be returning.
