Visiting Honey's was on our bucket list for our weekend trip and we're so glad we made it! The omelettes were delicious. The latkas were...not quite what we expected? The hard exterior made it difficult to eat and many of us gave up on it. It was also very well seasoned, perhaps even too salty. The pancake special was huge. I feel the menu could specify how many pancakes each item comes with. Overall a good diner experience. We came in for a quick bite to eat and they were empty. We were seated and proceeded to watch 3 people that work there including some management stand around talking and never come over to even get our drink order. As we've never been here before, I called to see if they served breakfast all day, as another restaurant promptly handed us lunch menus at 11:30am, when we had gone there for breakfast and told them before being seated, after waiting. I was met with someone either having a very bad day, or just plain grumpy. She said on the phone, "we serve breakfast all day every day!!!" and hung up. I get that she must be tired of repeating that, but customer service!?! We went anyway, got there at 1pm after some errands. Upon entering, I asked the woman who came over if they were seating in the train, which they are known for - she replied, "we serve breakfast everyday all day!!!" HUH? That was not what I asked! There was only 1 other table occupied, yet she wanted to seat us next to the door, it was rainy/cool out that day, so I asked for a different table - we were then seated in the back by the bathrooms, yes away from the door but there were others available - I moved to a different table, which was sticky from syrup, and the floor had a smashed small milk cup. Of course we asked the waiter to clean it, the table was still sticky after he sprayed cleaner on the table right next to our faces, instead of on the cloth away from us. All that said, the food was plentiful, the lump crab eggs benedict tasted good. I had asked for the Hollandaise sauce on the side, the small cup had congealed sauce - not good! My husband got what turned out to be a giant omelet with a latke. The latke was nothing like we'd ever seen - a very high, large piece of shredded then baked or fried potatoes. Tasted like home fries, nothing special. The clincher was that the waiter, who didn't have a single other table and was not going off duty, put our check down on the table when we weren't even haflway through eating. He never asked if we'd like anything else. Needless to say, we won't be going back, and will not recommend this place. read more

Very cute spot for a brunch. There are outdoor seating options and you can sit inside of an old train car. We sat in the train car which was a unique and cool experience. The food was very visually pleasing. The blueberry cream challah French toast was fluffy and decadent. We did notice an overwhelming flavor of cream cheese in the blueberry cream, and the topping was not made with fresh blueberries. We also had the kielbasa omelette with latka and toast. Breakfast at the beach...Honey's Farm Fresh Gourmet Kitchen has a lot of different menu items. We had two omelettes, the western omelette and one with kielbasa. They were both delicious. The western omelette had ham, cheese, onion and vegetables. It came with your choice of hash browns or potato hash. The kielbasa omelette had big chunks of sausage, green peppers, and onions. My son really loved the kielbasa omelette and the western was my favorite. The chocolate chip pancakes were yummy. Huge, warm, and full of chocolate chips, it melted in your mouth. We also ordered the French toast and it was made on a thick, rich bread. It was tender and not too sweet. The maple syrup was tasty too. We took our order to go and everything was hot and well packed, when we brought it to the house. I would definitely go back, when we visit again! read more

Found this great little spot near Bethany! I loved how the restaurant was set in a renovated train! Felt like we were in some sort of movie set and added a lot of charm. The food was also great and well done! I got the Chesapeake Benedict and it had a generous amount of crab on it with perfectly poached eggs. As you can see from my last review in September 2023 this is one of my local favorites for breakfast, brunch or lunch. I arrived here with my family of eight including two children around 11:30 am. The first rail car, which I prefer because of its original old style design, was full of customers. We had to wait about 5 minutes for the staff to set up a table for eight in their second rail car, which is less impressive than their first rail car. We were the only people located in the second rail car, therefore, we enjoyed our quiet private dining privacy. I started with their bloody Mary for $10. I also enjoyed my traditional eggs benedict with latka for $17. My total bill was $188 less gratuity. Jen served our table very well. We all agreed we will continue to return here. read more

Mostly it is family friendly but I would not say it's good for large groups of people. This restaurant is located away from all the hectic craziness of the downtown area. It also offers free parking in a lot that has significant amount of free space. Our annual return (2nd) to honeys always brings a smile and joy to our family. All the kids love the kids meals from pancakes to eggs. And all the adults indulge in stuffed French toast and enormous omlettes. The staff is super friendly and always courteous. They check to make sure we're all good with our meals and that our coffees are full. Pancakes, stuffed French toast, omelets and Benedicts have all been super. Great for families and groups. This place got 5 stars for me because their food is amazing and service great BUT when a restaurant has great FRESH juices and home made ice teas, it takes it over the top for me because they go beyond great food and service. We ordered a peach strawberry lemonade and it was delicious. Way too sweet for me but, I don't eat a lot of sugar. We ordered a glass of sparkling water and mixed the two, making it an amazing summer spritzer. It was a hefty $9.50 for a non alcoholic beverage but it was delicious. Diluted it could have made two drinks. We also ordered the mint ice tea which was the best I have tasted in any restaurant. Also freshly brewed with free refills. That was $3.50 with inflation and refills, worth every penny spent. The food was definitely comfort food, delicious with large portion sizes. I am used to eating spicy flavorful and ethnic foods so it was all under seasoned for me BUT, I would imagine for their clientele it was perfectly seasoned. The restaurant itself is close spacing because it's made from two old train cars. An old time quaint feeling. Their potato latkes are different. Is it a restaurant? Is it a defunct train car? Funny enough, it's both! It's also one of the most original and delicious breakfast joints you'll have the pleasure of eating at the Delaware beaches. The morning of Memorial Day, we drove up to what looked like a train station, confused and hungry, to find a line and an hour-long wait to be seated. I put my name down with little hope we'd stick around. But time flies at the beach and it wasn't long before we were called and seated. And this is where the magic started: the host led us down into a classic train car that gave me all the Harry Potter feels - a burgundy, black and gold interior with charming details. Every dining table offered a window seat with a view of the station platform, which doubles as the restaurant's "patio seating". Once we took it all in, we placed our orders. I was so inspired that I ordered the Nova Scotia Eggs Benedict (a rare dish for me) with smoked salmon, accompanied by a latke. For my daughter, pancakes with a fried egg and home fries on the side; a cheese omelet for my husband; crab omelet for my dad; and the Florentine cheese and spinach omelet for my mom. It took another 30 minutes for the food to come out, but the wait was well worth it. My Eggs Benedict were to die for - perfectly poached eggs over thick, smoked salmon and a toasted biscuit, all topped with a delicious Hollandaise sauce. The latke was a nice complement - a fat slice that looked more like a slice of pie than a potato pancake, with a distinctive taste of oregano in every bite. Heaven. Everyone at the table felt the same about their plate. Even my 3 year old devoured her home fries, eggs and pancakes without protest. A good friend recommended Honey's for its breakfast. I had the Nova Scotia Eggs Benedict with home fries. The Benedict was very well done with a good slice of salmon, tomato and lovely hollandaise (which I could always use more). The eggs were poached perfectly and with a slice oozed warm goodness. The home fires were excellent quarter potatoes well spiced and totally yummy. My wife had the home fries too and the Farmer's Market omelette with bacon, onion and cheese which she loved except she prefers her bacon crispier. We asked and the server told us next time to request the bacon be made first and separate to get that extra crispness. I wasn't crazy about the ambience. We sat at a table you know the one near the door so that whenever it opens the cold comes with it. The train car area was not open when we visited and it looked like only the front of the restaurant was used. Fair enough. At least we could look out the windows at the falling snow. The potato latka as a side is a must get. Just an all around quality place here in Bethany - they're under new ownership but really doing a great job.
