June 2025 menu

Found this place on yelp. Been wanting to try meat jun and was excited to see this on the menu. Ordered meat jun and the katsu chicken plate. I called in a to go order and it was ready pretty quickly. I asked for extra katsu sauce and I don't know if that threw her off but I think the meat jun was supposed to come with a sauce too??? Disappointed in the meat jun but I'm also a saucy girl, It was plain to me, meat battered in egg. It comes with a side salad and side Mac salad and rice of course. Chicken katsu & Mac salad were good. It's a small space with some indoor seating inside, located in downtown. There's limited street parking. Probably a parking garage nearby. Places closes early at 3p and closed on sundays.

I'll be honest I didn't come here with the best expectations cause the reviews weren't great but WOW LAU LAU The food here is onolicious!! My husband said the service was quick and he got our food in no time!! There was also plenty of seating to choose from inside and out. He ordered me the spicy teriyaki pork plate with over easy eggs and meat jun (not photographed cause I inhaled it ) and it was BOMB.COM!! The meat was flavorful, the kimchi had just the right amount of bite and the mac salad was killahz!! We were there for work so it'll be a while til we can come back but if you're a local to the downtown Phoenix area I definitely recommend checking them out

Small mom-n-pop, with a simple decor and tasty food. I would definitely recommend this place for a simple and yummy lunch.

Teriyaki Chicken Plate I found a hair in my food. The chicken was dry and overcooked. I ordered Teriyaki Chicken, but it didn't come with any sauce. I had to go back and ask for it.

New ownership and amazing improvements. First the dining area is so much cleaner and welcoming. The staff who work there are also very welcoming. They got the Aloha spirit. And the food is so ono (delicious) I got the terry beef bowl last time, this time I got the shrimp tempura plate. Very delicious.

Went for lunch, food came out pretty fast and it was super good. The rice was delicious and they gave a big portion of chicken breast which was great. The teriyaki sauce was thinner than I was used to, but it still packed a flavor punch and was great. Would come again, and I recommend you try it for yourself!

Pretty good Hawaiian BBQ. The ribs were freshly grilled. They smelled and tasted fantastic. The chicken katsu was lightly breaded and very crunchy. The teriyaki chicken was well seasoned and had good flavor. The macaroni salad was well seasoned and surprisingly light. It was lunch hour so there was a bit of a wait but they were very professional. There were about 20 seats available for indoor seating. It did feel a little cramped with everyone placing lunch orders.

We decided to eat at Paradise Hawaiian BBQ while in Phoenix towards the end of our trip because we missed eating "rice"! Because we were there for a convention, it was crowded because they are walking distance from the convention center. We decided to do a phone call order. As i called, i get yelled at over the phone "HOLD ON!" So i hold on... she finally comes back on and says "what do you want to order?" I'm kind of used to this type of yelling, because when you go to a L and L, this is exactly how they talk to. We decide to order 4 plates. We walk over to the little shop and stand in line. The one cashier seemed overwhelmed so another lady comes to help her. We get to the cashier and they know we ordered over the phone, again the lady who took the order was a little rude. So i decided to ask, who's from Hawaii? She said i am. I said wow, that's nice that you decided to open up a restaurant here. Again she was a little standoffish. So we informed her we were from Hawaii, and she looked up at us and her whole attitude was a lot different, very nice. Whether your from Hawaii or not, everyone should receive the aloha spirit. As we waited for our food, we met this guy that sat at the first table doodling on a napkin. I went over and spoke with him, come to find out he was a architect and created some of the buildings in hawaii! How cool is that. Our food then came out, everything was good.

K-dish, jjampong and kimchi rice with egg.

Servers were so nice and friendly. Food is amazing! We had the Kimchi Rice with Egg, K-dish, and Jjampong and everything is delicious.

I hate when you order extra sauce and you get back to your desk and it is not there. The food is decent but if they forget again I am done.

Is this place still open? It no longer appears when searching for it on Google Maps.

Yes, itʻs in downtown phoenix now on Adams Street and they are only open for lunch time, I think from 10am to 3pm (Mon-Fri) and no more the cold korean veggies :-( But, they still good

They also seemed to have won best Hawaiian Food in AZ 2024 I can't wait to come back to try their kalbi and ahi poki. It's tucked away in the corner of a strip mall, and I've probably passed it a gazillion times and never even noticed it was there. My friend had called the day before to see if there was anything gluten-free on the menu. They were so helpful when we showed up. They had remembered her call and could tell her exactly what was gluten free. This is a very casual order at the counter kind of place. The dining room is simple, but that's okay because the focus is on the yummy food. They have single plates and double plates on the menu. I got a plate that had kalbi and kalua pork. It was served with white rice, macaroni salad, and kimchi. It was amazing! The pork tasted Smoky and delicious, the kalbi beef had just the right amount of sweetness to it. The macaroni salad was also perfect. I got quite a bit of food for my money. I was able to make it into two meals because there was no way I was going to finish it in one sitting. I really like Hawaiian food, and this one is so much better than some of the chain restaurants. It's slightly more in price, but it's 100% worth it. We sat and talked for a couple hours at least. While we were sitting, there was a period when every table was taken. So it does seem like quite a few people know about this place and come. I highly recommend it!

From the prices to the generous portions and food quality, everything was amazing!! It's been a while since I've had Hawaiian BBQ this good outside of Hawaii. Inside, there is plenty of seating. Orders are placed at the counter, and they call your order number when your food is ready. They also have self serve fountain drinks. Kahu even has a drive thru for added convenience. We started with the Crab Rangoons (4 pieces for $3.59). For entrees, we ordered the Kalua combo ($13.59), which comes with Kalua pork and your choice of chicken. I chose Teriyaki chicken. We also ordered the BBQ & Katsu mix ($14.59). Each plate comes with two scoops of rice, one scoop of Macaroni salad, and vegetables. The Macaroni salad was phenomenal and ended up being our favorite part of the meal. We loved it so much that we ordered five additional scoops ($7.99) to take home. We also ordered an extra side of steamed rice (2 scoops for $1.99) to pair with our leftover meats, along with an order of Fried dumplings (8 pieces for $6.99). Even without the additional takeout sides, the two original plates were more than enough to turn into another full meal later that night. I was excited to find out there is also a location closer to where I live, and I already can't wait to dine at Kahu again. Thank you!! Visited 5/10/26
