A week ago Sunday was my third time getting manicures and pedicures here. Each time I've been less than pleased with the results. This time I received gel nails on my hands for my son's wedding across country the following Saturday. By Wednesday, one nail was chipped. Thankfully the other 3 nails didn't chip off until after the wedding. Seems they didn't do a good job buffing the nails to accept the gel. Real cute place. Got a male tech who was really great, especially with making my acrylic tips nice and round. I paid $45 for a pedicure and acrylic set. So the reason I gave the 3 stars is b/c I could have gotten my pedicure and a gel set for the same price at another place. And ontop of that, it REALLY cost me $50, but the man who provided my services took off $5. Love how my nails turned out, but I usually get gel sets where I usually go and it's much cheaper so I don't think I'll be back here. read more

The customer service is lacking and the quality of work is average. The last two times I went for a pedicure, no one walked me over to the drying station or even pointed to it, no one offered to help transport my shoes, and they hold and watch you sign the credit card receipt. Customers beware, I am not sure if it's because of the quarantine that these people are being dishonest. But what they are doing is unethical. Today I went in for a scheduled pedicure I picked out a nail polish color. I was asked if I wanted to get Gel polish instead I said no. The guy proceeded to do my pedicure. He then asked if I wanted callus removal which unbeknownst to me is not a part of a regular pedicure it was an up charge of $5. Then he asked what color polish I was getting. I pointed to the nail polish that the lady placed next to him. He waited until it was time to paint my nails to say that they were not using the fans at this time to dry my your if you are using regular polish. So I said okay fine I'll do the gel. After he finished my gel pedicure/manicure he asked how I was paying. I told him with my card. He said okay let's go to the register. We get to the register and as I pull my card out he said "we have a limit on our credit card machine" I was so confused, so I asked for clarification. I also asked if the machine was broken? He said well we have a daily limit and we have reached that limit for the day. I said it's 11 a.m. and you guys have already reached your credit card limit? He then said can you send it to my cash app. I said I do not like to use cash app what is wrong with the machine. He insisted that I pay through the cash app because of the daily limit again while stuttering. And because I did not want to argue I paid through cash app. I never write bad reviews but I felt that he was lying to me because he wanted his money in cash. Why would you not tell the customer this before you perform services. What if I had no cash and was paying with strictly a credit card. That to me is being dishonest. So just beware of the shenanigans that these people are doing. Do not let them touch you before asking these questions. This is information they could have shared when I booked my appointment and when I showed up. These people cannot expect for the community to support them reopening when this is the way they conduct business. If you are unprepared then do not accept appointments. read more

To be clear this review is for paradise nails by wise supermarket on Gorman avenue.....There is only ONE nail tech in this entire shop that has done quality work for me, and that's Peter. Everyone else who I've given a chance to do my nails did a terrible job. Ive had nails completely different shapes, lengths, polish on my cuticles. I even asked for a bow to be drawn, and it looked like a dog bone! Someone even asked me "is that a PS4 controller" Not to Mention the RUDENESS of the youngest nail tech in the shop, (Kim I believe IDK her name either) all because I didn't know my nail techs name. Woooootie fuckin doooo. Luckily I had my daily scripture that day, and raised above the stank ass attitude she gave. I've noticed when this establishment gets busy they began to rush through their work, and with prices they dish out they definitely can't afford to do so. I pay my due plus tip HEALTHY I expect nothing, but greatness. So peter will be the only one touching my nails at this shop when I decide to come back. read more

This place deserves 0 stars!!!!!!! They have ruined my entire Sunday. I came in at 11:00, two hours later they have trudged their way through and as a customer I'm not pleased and deeply regret trying a new place. My color change on my toes look as if they've been done by a toddler. I had to ask them several times to go over it, and to clean excess polish from around my cuticles, and they act as if they're bothered to do so. Now, as for my nails, they jacked my fill-in all the way up. With the assistance of 3 people, they managed to screw up a simple fill-in. At the very end after several corrections, they tell me they don't have my color. Clear example of a money hungry establishment. I've been getting my nails done for years. I know how it works and this AINT it. They aren't concerned with your satisfaction in your nails or in their work but just your money. I asked several times for them to stop and wait to hear me out about what I wanted done, but they trudged through but if I would've left and not paid, then it would have been a problem. I needed a quick pedicure before going out of town and I made the mistake of coming here. The shop was a little busy but I was told to pick a color and sit at the pedicure chair. A male tech ran the water for me and then I sat there for almost 30 minutes in lukewarm water until someone started working on me. An older lady worked on my toes and I could tell she was rushing. She cut me while clipping the cuticle and then did an awful paint job. Since it was just my toes and I needed something on them I let it slide. What prompted this review is that it has been less than 3 hours since I left the salon and my polish is already screwed up. If you want to just throw away $35... go here. If you want a quality nail job...go somewhere else. read more

I spent $142 here last week for a basic manicure and pedicure for myself and a gel manicure and basic pedicure for my mom (they overcharged me). The young nail technician that worked on my nails was very rude and did not seem to have any experience at all. She could not file my nails properly and I told her I wanted to keep the almond shape I have but she still kept doing whatever she was doing and ruined the shape of my nails and when I complained she told me do it myself(which I did). Also, she only put two uneven coats of nail polish on my nails and it was very transparent so I told her to put another coat of nail polish on and she refused to do so. The mani pedi I got was very low quality and I was so disappointed I spent so much money here and got horrible customer service with very rude employees. If I'm spending that much money, I expect to be treated with respect. I would not recommend anyone to come here. read more

The person who did my pedicure was fine, but lacked proper polish skills. The, owner, who was doing my manicure was very unprofessional. She didn't want to cut my nails down and didn't properly clip my cuticles. When she started polishing my nails, I complained because they weren't beeing dine properly, at which time she got up and walked away. Another gentleman took her place and did them over. At mo point in time did she say so.eone else will do them, she just walked away. Upon trying to pay, they kept insisting on cash and told me to use their atm machine. I told them I have a credit card and I'm not paying cash advance fees and they finally accepted it. This was my first and last time attending this salon. I am truly tired of businesses with poor customer service you work hard everyday and expect to be treated and rewarded with at the minimal least reasonable customer service. However this was my fault for returning after I got bad service the first time I went but silly me for believing in second chances. I Always believe in that how you carry yourself speaks volumes, so yes as a grown heterosexual male not just getting my hair cut and beard trimmed I get my hands manicured and feet pedicured also. I went to this place once before and not only did the tech cut me on my foot twice she also cut my finger and it was a deep cut. That alone should've been strike three hell I was even nice enough to give her a small tip I must've been out of my mind that day. Then she had the audacity to tell me to come see her again. Silly me I went back today and was asked to leave because the techs were busy and they didn't want to take anymore customers that day in so many words. I looked at guy who told me this with a bewildered look then shook my head and left. I'm so over businesses feeling like you can just treat people any ol way it's not right at all. First time there, waited an hour before someone serviced my daughter and myself. Sat in the pedicure seat for at least 45 minutes. They tried to overcharge us on the services rendered...2 pedicures and gel acrylic nails. Second time overcharged my daughters gel fill in and tried to act like she didn't understand. I visited this place last Friday and already my nails are chipping. The guy basically did not pull back cuticle, did not put a base coat on, and did not fill the nail thoroughly. Today, was my first time here as I searched and visited numerous Laurel Nail Salons and was told it is extra this amount to remove the gel polish off my acrylic tip nails since I'm not getting gel anymore. Sigh! Well, now that everyone is adopting the pay for extra services trend, I found a place that only charged me $3 more. Good I suppose but hey it is a business and the purpose is to make money. I was greeted upon arrival and asked what service I need. I informed the young lady that I wanted a fill-in, but did not want gel anymore plus I had a nail repair as well. I was told the price in a breakdown which I like and asked to pick a color. This nail salon has a lot of OPI, my fav, so I was pleased and the colors were in order by shade. Immediately after I picked my color and sat at the chair where the nail tech was, she told me that my nails are lifting up a little too much and asked me where I got them originally done at. I told her and she continued her work. My one nail she had to repair was done quickly and efficiently making it look just like the others. Brownie points!!! Within the next few minutes my fill-in was complete and polish was being applied. It was good that they had Matte but after seeing how shiny my OPI picked polish was, I decided not to use it. I then asked for a polish change for my toes and got my eyebrows waxed. While sitting in the chair to allow my toes and nails to dry, Luke (I take it he is in charge and was the person I talked to on the phone.) asked me how did I like my nails. I told him I liked them and he said well come back again. I nod in agreement. Once I paid for my service with my credit card. The nail tech, Melissa, told me that next time when I pay in cash I will receive 10% off. I was like cool. Sounds like a plan to me. Saving dollars and coins are very important to me especially when other nail salons cross eyes at discounts. Overall, my first experience was great. They are pretty pricey but you get what you pay for and believe me I have had my horrible experiences paying a pretty penny so I'm skeptical anywhere I go. I recently moved to Laurel and have been looking for the perfect nail salon near me, and I saw this place is really close to my place, probably the closest. I've been here a couple of times, and the staff seem nice and all but the service was just...EHH! this last time that I went was the last straw...I went in to get a gel manicure French tips and I asked for a design on my ring fingers..the guy did my nails and it was going pretty well..but when he was about to finish, this other customer walks in that he knows and she sits in the chair next to mine and complains to him that her thumb got ruined and the polish chipped off! and I guess she's a regular (considering I've only been here like 3 times) he rushed finishing mine to go tend to her, which I was already fine with cuz someone else started doing the design on my ring finger, I thanked her and complimented her design that I loved it, she then proceeded to tell me to put it under the UV light and after she just said okay all done and told me to pay and that it was $40...regardless I left the husband and wife (from my observation and hearing) a $10 tip, but SERIOUSLY THOUGH?! I AM SO DISSAPOINTED WITH THE SERVICE AND TREATMENT THAT I GOT. last time I checked, EVERY TIME I've gotten my nails done ANYWHERE, I get a little hand massage, NOT EVEN LOTION, my hands were pretty dry considering the work they were doing,...and I'm asked and considered if I need anything...but here, NOTHING. my service was rushed because a "regular" walked in! THAT IS NOT RIGHT. DEFINITELY NOT GOING BACK HERE. I'd rather drive 30 minutes back to where I used to get my nails done all the time in the city than to step foot in this over priced and inconsiderate place. the 1 star I gave was just cuz this time, they did a good job on at least putting the nail polish on my nails.
