I was so pleasantly surprised in finding this salon. The salon is so nice. No strong smell which I really appreciate. Decorated in a fun style with a terrific vibe. The pedicure was fantastic with a wonderful massage of the feet and legs. Lots of color choices. Also, the massage chairs are great. Everyone was extremely friendly and accommodating. My husband and I went in for pedicures on 06/30 and spent over $100. 2 days later, his big toe is red, swollen, and very painful. By day 5 it is much worse, so we go to the doctor. He has a Cellulitis infection that was caused by his pedicure. It's very frustrating to have spent all that money, plus money for doctor appointment and 2 prescriptions all because something wasn't properly sterilized. We also have to carefully monitor the infection because this type can turn dangerous, and sometimes deadly. Never going through this again. read more

Sorry, but I was disappointed. Went for the $56 pedicure. It was few lotions, an oil, fast foot and leg massage and that was it. I kind of expected more for the price. I knew she was told to hurry up because she plopped on that nail polish. My feet or legs didn't have that fresh feeling or finished look when I left. I've strayed and always end up back in her chair because she really is the Best! I get pink and white's and my friends always complement me on how pretty my hands are! I have been going here for well over 10 years. I may have even left a raving review previously. Because The spread of Covid has SLOWED down I decided to to start going again regularly. The first few times everyone were using masks. Yesterday that was not the case. Customers & techs are not using them and my nail tech was inches from my face doing my nails. If you are still concious about Covid and are using a mask I would not recommend. We are so close in there, no ventilation door is not even open. Oh my. Whoever said these folks were nice, friendly, chatty whatever maybe had their tounges and smiling muscles cut out. No, just kidding yelpers!!!! Actually, not kidding. Go to Paradise Nails if you would like a short trip to hell whilst getting your nails painted. I took a friend in for us both to get nails and pedi done, and I swear the guy who did my toes wanted to kill me. Not kidding. Hey guy, I know my feet are not the cutest, but they are clean, darn it! I tried smiling. He just stared at me with shiny daggers in his eyes. "Ok, I will just watch tv." Better. The girl who did my friend's nails was no better, she said. In fact, every single person in the joint was actually grimacing. Oh and what salon doesn't accept credit cards?? We have come up with some theories, like maybe they do not actually choose to work there but are paying off debts or something. Whenever I feel like being around miserable people who let me sit with no shoes on for 15 minutes waiting for them to turn the water on, or whenever I feel like I'm up for the most intense staring match of my life, I'm gonna go back to Paradise Nails. I first started coming here on the recommendation of a friend. I have been to salon after salon and just received so-so service, so I was skeptical as usual. Now, after coming here regularly for over a year, I can say that Jeannie is the nicest person and always does a job above and beyond when I go in for a pedicure, manicure, acrylic tips, whatever. I have since brought other friends in and they all have been happy as well. My advice is to avoid weekends and/or evenings if you can at all help it because they are usually pretty busy. Why are they busy? Because they are GOOD! If you do decide to go in when they are busy, bring your patience because they take their time to do things right! read more

A wedding to go to. I took one look at my nails and decided that it was time for a mani/pedi. I called and made an appointment. Showed up for my appointment 15 minutes early and was told my appointment was made for the next day. WTF? Long story short, much of my time was wasted. Out of necessity I stayed. Manicure: Traditional french. Cuticles are still a little raggedy. They seem to be more into hurrying you in and out then really cleaning up. But the paint job was on point and I got many compliments on them all day. I hope they hold up. Pedicure: Didn't charge me extra for OPI, didn't shave off my protection (calluses) at my request, massage was minimal, but the color was applied nicely. Overall: They really seem to rush you in and out of here, polish is applied well, cuticle care is poor, they seem pretty clean, and the prices are pretty cheap. I'd come here again, but I'd also shop around a little more. read more

Yes I am a guy and yes I get my nails done. I'm not sure how many stars to give. For the manicurist, Julie, I give 5 stars, for the shop I give 2.5. I'll begin by telling you about 5 Star Julie - I started going to Paradise Nails about 3 years ago because the rough area around my nails prevented me from tying my silk ties! AAAAAhhhhhhhh. So I walked in off the street and received a manicure from JULIE. I told Julie about the problem I was experiencing. Julie gave me a manicure and the problem was fixed!! My nails were cut and looked great! After that I'd get a manicure every couple of months but eventually I started going once a month. I can't do it the way Julie can. So Julie has always done me right. I'd recommend her and I'll keep going to her. Now the Shop part. I'll just tell you my two concerns: In the summer the shop is warm. Not sure if the AC does not work or is turned up. Second concern: cash only - no credit or debit cards. The shop is clean and well light and all that. The owners are fine. They always say hi, bye and thank you to me. Some people are more outgoing than others. Last part - PLEASE do not tell anyone. About a year ago I began getting my uni-brow waxed. Julie does a good job with this as well :-) I can't anyone that I'm going for a manicure and wax because they will make fun of me. read more

I visit Paradise Nails on a fairly regular basis. It's clean, conveniently located and fairly priced. What is evidenced by the wide range of Yelp reviews, however, is what it is NOT... The quality and service at Paradise are widely inconsistent. Some days, I am greeted with a smile and friendly conversation. Other days, as another Yelp reviewer mentioned, I'm pretty sure that guy would hack my pinkie toe off if given ample opportunity... I've had excellent leg massages and a quality paint job on one visit only to come back the next time to cold pedicure water, weak wristed leg massages and diluted, cheap polish that chips off as soon as I shower in the evening. That said, I'll continue to go back because 1) it's cheap, 2) they ALWAYS take me as a walk in, and 3) it's VERY conveniently located. Where else downtown can I decide, spur of the moment, to have my toes painted on the way back from the grocery store? The price is right, and if I want to be REALLY pampered, I know to go... I have going here with the occasional stint to Alhambra Nails since I can remember. The negative is the quality is not the best and sometimes my nails chip faster than at other places. On the positive side I can usually get an app pretty quick and the location is convenient. I have also been really happy with the nail art. So the first time I went here I was very hesitant. It was a weekday around 10 a.m. The place was empty. I asked for a gel manicure and a pedicure. The pedicure was a mop-n-glo, wham bam pedicure given by a gentleman. I was basically paying for a foot soak and some polish. The gel manicure was from a woman and turned out awesome. I was pleasantly surprised and I received numerous compliments on my nails. The only thing that works for me is a gel or shellac manicure. Any other type of manicure or acrylic nails will not work for me. So the second time I went, I was obviously served by two completely individuals. My pedicure was the same disappointing result. My gel manicure was rushed and within an hour after I left, my nails were chipping. If you are familiar with gel manicures, they do not chip. The polish lasts for a minimum of two weeks and your nails are hard as rocks until you have the gel polish removed. The girl was very nice, but very rushed. It seemed as though she did not let the gel polish dry long enough each cycle under the UV lights. They say they take credit/debit cards, but when you try to pay, they only want cash. So after two visits they got $120 cash out of me including the tip ($50 + $10 tip each visit). I was originally turned on to gel polish after going to an actual "Spa" and received a first class mani-pedi for the same price these people charge. I won't be going back. read more

Worst customer service ever, I did a walk in and wanted a manicure with regular nail polish and the nail technician kept insisting I get gel polish. I kept declining afterwards she seemed upset the fact that I didn't wanted to get gel polish. She seemed money hungry and lazy. She was the youngest looking technician there. Getting gel polish is just a lazy way for them to make their money fast, I don't see any reason to get to done if it's just going to peel off or grow out within 2 weeks! A friend and I went to Paradise Nails last week for a mani-pedi. We showed up without an appointment and were helped right away. They are cleaner than most nail salons in Sact'o. They appear to use mini versions of nail buffers and throw them out after each customer. The man who was doing my nails was OK. He did a much better job on my pedi than my mani. My mani had lots of air bubbles in it. The foot and hand massage were divine. The mani+pedi ended up costing me $30. They don't take credit or debit cards but there's a Rite-Aid next door where you can get cash back if using a debit card. read more

The woman next to me got a massage on her legs for about 10-15 minutes while my lady only massaged my legs for 5 minutes, was very rough, and rushy, then before I could tip her she requested a tip, I literally had to say "thank you" 4xs just for her to say "your welcome" and I still gace her rude self a tip, what happen to customer service? I usually go to Greenhaven Nails but they open at 10, this will be my last time coming here! Oh and she kept telling me to walk barefoot and I kept asking for the slippers they give you but it took for another worker to tell her to give me the damn slippers, why have them if you don't want to give them to every customer? Had the most horrible and uncomfortable pedicure experience here today. The male employee did my pedicure and he couldn't be bothered that I was making complaints about his service. I got the deluxe pedicure package which is the most expensive package and the results were below basic. He rushed through the whole pedicure and did not once rub my feet at all. He rubbed the sea salt grains deep in my sheens so much that it is still burning my skin 9 hours later tonight. After I asked him to stop rubbing the grains on my sheens and put it on my feet and he snapped back at me that this was the procedure. When he finally did put the sea salt grains on my feet, he took what little was left in the bowl and rubbed on a little spot in the center of my feet then washed it off a few seconds later. Everything was done on my sheens and nothing other than the wax treatment on the soles of my feet. When he did massage my legs (again, no massage on my feet), he was so rough and impatient I had to tell him to cut it short and move onto painting my toe nails with nail polish. I'm so disappointed and I will NEVER return to this place. Definitely do not go here if you're looking for something relaxing and results worthy. read more

My boyfriend brought me here for a surprise pedicure after work!!! They did an excellent job with my toes. I also speak Vietnamese, so I was able to chat it up with the women who worked there. They are fast, efficient, and very clean. I recommend coming here to get your nails done. I would have to agree that it is slightly more expensive, but you get what you pay for. I'm surprised that there are so many bad reviews since I've been here quite a few times and have had only great experiences. Friendly people, clean, good finished product. They also have shellac which is the best thing ever. It goes on like nail polish but cures under the light and is dry in 60 seconds then lasts for at least ten days. No chips!! Love it. didn't even get to get my nails done. i was a solo walk in trying to get a set of acrylics done, i was pretty much the only person in there, they greeted me and had me sit down and pick out a color, two other walk in groups came in after me and the employees sat them and started working on their nails first. the other groups did not have appointments just like me. not sure if they figured they would get more money from the groups rather than a solo person but i sat and waited for 25 minutes while they started on the other girls nails before i ended up leaving. the other walk ins tried to get them to do my nails first and said they didn't mind waiting because i had come in before them but the employees wouldn't. they just kept telling me 5 more minutes the whole time i was there. very unprofessional and frankly pretty rude. i don't usually leave reviews for places but this was so weird i had to. just couldn't believe they set me up, had me pick out my color and everything and then just moved to the people i guess they assumed would give them more money smh read more

My pedicure was rushed I paid for the wax and it's was all done 20minutes the water was cold I asked for hotter water he didn't do it. He rushed so fast there was no one waiting. And the package says 35mins not 20mins. I needed a manicure done however I have more hang nails today than I did yesterday..... I will not go back here ever again. I call this "Paradise Lost" because our experience here was anything but. I recently move to Sac, and now have to find a nail place and a hair place. My daughter and I walked in, she wanted a pedi, I wanted a pedi and a fill. NO AC, was hotter than Hades in here. The woman who did my pedi was terrible, hardly any foot scrubbing, crappy massage, and didn't even smooth the edges of my nail after clipping them! I even asked her, and she said they were fine. They ended up snagging my sheets that night! And my fill feels thick and bumpy. This is THE fastest the polish has ever come off-the next day! AND, as previously mentioned, they only take cash. I was looking for a new nail salon, and after seeing all the good reviews on Yelp! I chose Paradise. I had never noticed it before, but it is walking distance to my home in East Sacramento. Today is a Wednesday and I went in about 10:30, there was no wait for my pedicure. I was more than happy to pay $20 for an excellent pedicure. I don't think this price is bad at all. They only take cash so I walked next door to Rite Aid and picked some up. I tipped 25% because Vicky did a great job on my feet (they were a mess) she also didn't speed through the leg & foot massage part, which I REALLY appreciated. There is only one good manicurist in this entire place and her hame is Jeannie. She is awsome with with customers, and very friendly. She does an amazing job on Gel and fiberglass nails, that will last for 3 weeks. I have had nails done by the owner Mary, and they were the worst gel nails I've ever had. She did not say one word to me and hurried my out. She was also yelling at the other employees. I felt really bad for the other girls that work there, and they seemed very nervous.
