Great food at amazing prices, a great break on a bike ride, or a destination all on its own.

Great food selection - we over ordered as the portions are huge. We got the nachos, amazing with real cheese everywhere, the pretzel, HUGE and delicious and the walnut salad which was exactly as it should be and didn't disappoint either. Great service and now we are stuffed and ready to go back to our hotel.

Ordered the "President Salad" which is their take on a caesar, and I'd ignorantly forgotten a few months prior they shut down due to health code violations. At this time, I was fasting so this was positively the only meal I had eaten the entire day. Later that night, I was awoken with what seemed to be the wrath of God within my stomach; what followed was the worst I've felt in the entirety of my life, food poisoning from the overpriced quirky bar in Lawrenceville. Do not get food here. I hesitate to imagine what kind of demonic entities lurk within the kitchen, and the slack-jawed Sloth from The Goonies clone washing dishes and cleaning glasses can't be any better.

She knew how to handle a large table. The kitchen did too. Cocktails were pretty good. I started with a pumpkin espresso martini which was great, although the pumpkin was lacking a bit. The margarita was also good, as was the old fashioned. I was mixing it up literally! For appetizers, the pierogis were a great choice, but that pork belly was the winner! That was so good and perfectly crispy with no chewy fatty bits. Great choices! That Yinzer Salad was awesome. I love fries on a salad and it was pretty good with the grilled chicken instead of the shaved steak. I loved chicken since I started eating these things at King's (RIP). Some others had the steak and wow, it was a nice thick cut and they were cooked perfectly! Usually steak at a place like this is a pass, but I'd think about it if I returned! It's in close proximity to PNC Park and Heinz Field (it will always be called this, sorry acrimonious) and we walked from a nearby hotel. I would imagine parking is challenging during baseball playoffs, but I guess we'll have to keep imagining that. I'd go back for sure!

The service was slow, and our server seemed like they were having a rough day. As the place got busier, our food and drinks took quite a while to arrive. On the bright side, my Hugo Spritz was solid, and my husband enjoyed his Old Fashioned. The beer list was a nice surprise--plenty of unique options you don't see everywhere. We tried the hen of the woods "chicken" nuggets, which were just okay, and the burger, which was decent. The mac and cheese, however, was a disappointment. It was not very cheesy and lacking flavor. I probably wouldn't return for a full meal, but I might stop by for a drink at the bar.

Bonus points for being in Mount Washington, which allowed us to ride the Monongahela Incline up and the Duquesne Incline down. Yes it was a bit of a walk but Bigham Tavern was worth it! It was a Monday night, so there was also live music. Crowd was reasonable and we were seated at a comfortable table with a good view of the television. Our waitress was awesome, so patient! Her patience was tested because we don't drink much and wanted to order the food gradually throughout the game. We benefited from happy hour pricing for a tasty pickle dip and glasses of wine. We added some outstanding wings, so many great flavors to choose from! Next phase was an outstanding gluten free pesto and mozzarella pizza! Crust was too good to be true! The game was rough at first but turned around in time for me to order the Big Ham sandwich with a side of kale salad. The sandwich was delicious and served on a pretzel bun. The kale salad was an awesome side dish, tons of flavor! The game kept improving and we enjoyed the rest of it in the bar area with some great fans. Lots of televisions. Great neighborhood vibe! Will gladly return when we're back in town!

However, the current owners named it after its original name (Bigham Tavern) paying homage to its historical value on the Mount. The food is always good (if you like wings, they're known for them) and the brews are always cold. It's a true representation of a Pittsburgh neighborhood with its food, decor, and people. They host events like trivia nights and other things. TV screens for the big games. They do a great weekend brunch.

Our server (I believe his name was Cody) was genuinely one of the nicest guys ever!! Incredibly amazing energy and super kind to answer and questions or provide recs. We tried the White Sangria and they had a Pina colada both delicious and so refreshing! We have recently tried the Pesto pizza (I sub chicken on top instead) and the brisket mac and cheese which was probably the biggest mac and cheese I have ever seen and super yummy. If you haven't checked it out yet I definitely recommend it to everyone I know!

I tried a black cherry ale that was delicious. My husband got a Vienna lager he enjoyed. He got the black and gold pizza with potatoes, garlic sauce, pepper, res onion parmesan, and provolone. It is fired in their brick oven with a crispy crust. He enjoyed it but it was a little over done and it was hard to distinguish the toppings as the char was heavy. I got the carbonara. It was definitely not traditional. The sauce was very thick and almost floury. They serve it with pork belly, which does not give the same punch of flavor to cut through the sauce as guanchali or bacon. The papardelle noodle were dry and clumpy. The dish was very heavy. Do not recommend. The place is chill. It is close to the theater. I might try it again if in the area.

The dirty martini was fairly pungent and strong so not sure I would get it again but I'm also not big on dirty martinis so probably just the wrong choice on my part. But the food was the star of the show. We ate so many good dishes- starting with the rainbow platter. Loved the baba ghanoush and the roasted cauliflower - those were my favorite of the 7 dishes on the platter. We also ordered the labneh, hummus with chicken and lamb shawarma, and the kafta kebabs (rolled up in some sort of tortilla) which were all fantastic! If we come back (which we will) I would just order the baba ghanoush instead of the rainbow platter, all the other dishes we ordered, and maybe one additional plate. I felt like I didn't really need the Israeli salad (tomato and cucumber) or the pickled cauliflower and radish that came on the rainbow platter. The hummus was SO soft and fluffy. This was some of the best food we've had in Pittsburgh. After having lived in a Philly for 4 years, we know good mediterranean/lebanese food and I'd be surprised if you can find better in Pittsburgh. Service was also very good.

We got drinks and 4 mezze / small plates. I liked my kiss my anise cocktail. It's rye based and was peppery and lightly sweet. My husband's cocktail was slightly sweeter and smoky. We shared four plates. I thought the stuffed grape leaves were a little slimy, but otherwise delicious. The Pierogi peppers were the most interesting item for me. They were pierogi filling in a sweet pepper with crispy onion on top-kudos on that dish! Out other two plates were the seared ahi tuna which had a nice savory crust and the chicken souvlaki, which was pretty standard. Our server was friendly and pleasant. The space was beautiful. Would highly recommend coming here for cocktails and small plates, the pizza at other tables looked pretty tasty too!
