This resort was a great spot for finding the nice balance between gentle relaxation and fun activities. This really is a nice resort offering lots of great activities without needing to leave the island. This includes a nice little sandy beach, yummy food options, a little market, reservable sports activities, spa treatments, kids activities, and more! I loved that the island had little nooks and crannies to explore. My favorite morning activity was heading to the morning cafe, ordering a coffee/light breakfast, and walking by the shoreline. There were two restaurants available and they both had delicious options. I believe one of the spots offers live music on select nights. During the day, there was also a little market which offers snacks, clothes, s'more necessities, and more. Additionally, I took advantage of the sports activities by booking the pickleball court. I picked up the equipment (paddles + balls) and headed over there with my group. We had a great time! There pool facilities were also wonderful. There's a few different heated pools and they hosted a little movie night with free popcorn on one of the nights. Lastly, the staff was really great! Everyone I encountered was nice and could answer my questions. No complaints at all! As for the surrounding area, there are fun spots (Seaworld, restaurants, etc.) all within driving distance. The islands a little isolated, but there's lots to do around the city. Would definitely go again!

I really should have checked this place before just going off trust me bros! I got sold on this place bc of tiktok but even then the main thing that was highly confusing and a deal breaker was the fact that they only had one bar for their five pools and the only bar isn't located in the adult pool but rather in the family pool! Okay, that wasn't that horrible we could always come by there and get dranks. There isn't pool side service which wasn't any fun at all. We ended up leaving to go to OB for food smh. We come back for a swim and some dranks and the only bar isn't located closed! Mind you, it's a Saturday night I it was only 8. I'm not sure when their bar closes but this is just for families and not recommended for rich aunties lol. Now, I can say I had a great swim! One of the receptionist recommended a pool that isn't that popular and I got a great swim in, that's one of the reason why I went there! I really wanted to swim like I was a kid again, in a pool, just for fun, doing water tricks. Actually I will give them three stars for that and the pools are heated. They could be a tad warmer in my opinion.

Tried it again.. so prices of course are quite a bit more... booked a premium lanai room it is spacious but was in the backend of the resort and this is a big property. Can only park one car in the space. They do have a lot of amenities, room service now that is reasonable as far as room service goes.. restaurants on site the island market. Mini golf that is free and several pools. We did have some hiccups.. Keurig didn't work, phone was down.... They did fix it once I called the front desk from my cell. It was pretty crowded this weekend so they did the best they could. Check in is at 4:00 so that's pretty late. If you book you need to do 2 nights to enjoy it.. we did it for a staycation and Easter. Next time it's a bayside room.

Stayed in a bungalow with fire pit & cove view for two nights. A great place for a staycation, family or couples trip, or even a solo getaway! Beautiful property with several pools, and a variety of things to do such as mini golf, tennis, pickleball, yoga, and options to rent bikes, boats, kayaks and more. Although this was a definite splurge ($49 daily resort fee and additional $49 daily parking fee on top of the room rate) I recommend coming here at least once. The grounds is open to the public, with public beach and cove access and a free public parking lot (but no overnight parking). We had a wonderful time with family and friends celebrating my husband's birthday.

Such an underrated place to stay and indulge. Check in was seamless (wish check in staff they would've mentioned the treasure hunt for a prize on the back of the map). Parking is available in the lot next to the conference center or right in front of your room (depending on the room you book). HUGE property, you'll definitely get your steps in. I believe it's over 44 acres. Lots of seagulls, turtles, ducks and other wildlife roaming the property. Great views of the bay and several ponds along the property as well. They have mini golf, sound baths, yoga, bikes and more available for your excursions. The room was lovely, plenty of space, a semi private patio, parking right in front the door, a separate kitchenette (microwave, fridge, sink, coffee maker) a dining table, a walk in closet and spacious bathroom.

We had a great time staying at Paradise Point Resort for the weekend. We stayed in a Bayside Bungalow in the cove area. The room had a sofa bed, coffee table, end table, dining table with 4 chairs, entertainment center with TV, and a wet bar. There was a separate bedroom with a king size bed, two end tables, a desk, and a full size mirror. Both the living room and bedroom had sink/vanity areas and closets. The bathroom area was positioned in between with a tub/shower and toilet. We really appreciated this setup and it worked well for having people stay in the bedroom as well as on the sofa bed. The room was great at first glance, but there were some missed opportunities to make it fantastic. Some easy cosmetic fixes could have really elevated the experience, and it's really surprising that they were overlooked given the cost of the room. The light in the shower area is problematic. I don't know if there's a trick to it, but we each had the light turn off on us while in the shower. If there is a specific way to prevent this from happening, it should be communicated. There is one dedicated parking space right outside each room ($46/night). Our room had an open patio on the bayside with two chairs and a small table. Stepping off the patio, there was a small grass area before reaching the sand on the beach. This was super convenient as we had our dog with us. There was a bonfire pit on the public beach directly in front of the room, which we used to have a get together on one of the nights. We had drinks at Barefoot Bar and Grill, which were really good, but insanely expensive (over $40 for two mai tais to go in 12 oz cups full of ice). I had the breakfast burrito one morning from the food delivery menu. It was a little over $20. It wasn't bad, but I found it to be bland. The salsa that came with it didn't help at all and had zero spice, like no peppers had been used at all in making it. There are several walking paths around the property and lots of birds and turtles in the water, with plenty of areas to sit and watch them. There is also a tower to climb. We didn't have a chance to participate in the activities offered, but there are a lot. Among them - miniature golf, several swimming pools, tennis, a marina, and bikes.

We decided on a whim to drive to San Diego for the weekend. We chose paradise point because it's right in the middle of everything and I'm so glad that we did not only was service. Amazing from start to finish. They have two restaurants on site. A dock where you can walk out and rent kayaks, etc. two accessible beaches on the property and to me the best part is you can book your own bungalow, which is what we did. It had a nice garden view. It was so quiet and peaceful. We didn't hear anyone while we were inside. There are five pools . The only downside is only one of them had an outside bar. I thought that there would be more considering it's considered a resort, but of course they do have room service and all that we love the barefoot bar and the bartenders they even remembered our orders from the night before when we came back we decided not to dine at the fancier restaurant and went out instead. In all honesty if you had kids, you could probably spend your entire time at the resort and not need to leave. There's a store that stays open till about eight. There's a day spa all the pools the restaurants it was great. The views of the bay were nice. The room itself was nice very clean. Beds were comfortable even the pillows. There was a couch and there as well and a large shower. They even came to make up our room even though we were only there two nights. I'd stay again in a heartbeat. We had a great time..

They couldn't follow simple requests you have made before coming,Bugs, dirty sheets, dirty towels, dirty walls, horrible service at the bare foot restaurant( don't make you feel welcomed), Dust, broken things. They don't take your issue seriously. For being a paradise resort would have expected much much better. Instead left disappointed. Don't recommend, unless you really want to spend your time with the bugs. Lights weren't working outside also the electrical outlets don't work either. The time wasn't even on right. Just bad have more pictures but wouldn't allow me to post past 20

I kayaked, I jetskii'nod, I bonfire'd, but most importantly, I ate. Paradise Point is situated in what has been called a man-made island. Our room was awesome and the barn doors leading to the restroom was a nice touch. The pillows were a little too soft for my liking but I just stacked it on top of the pillows from the other bed that we didn't use. Our patio had a nice view of the...parking lot. I did love having to only send a quick text over to the staff for any questions I had as opposed to calling over for a simple question. Setting up reservations for dinner and water activities was easy enough. A QR code can be scanned at the Island Market and my party was able to reserve the amenities pretty easily. However, reserving the rooms entailed a lot of follow ups as there was a lot of miscommunication. Fortunately, the staff was friendly enough to remove our parking and resort fees for the complications that arose. SeaWorld is right next to Paradise Point so you can watch the fireworks from the beach at night if you prefer. My party had a bonfire dinner and finished off the weekend with fireworks. The staff are friendly, the water activities are fun, but reserving the rooms and checking in was a bit of a hassle. I wouldn't mind coming back here again, though.

Close to SeaWorld and other attractions! Private beach! Pet friendly!

I've been a hotel GM for over twenty years, and I don't say this lightly: what Rudy did is the kind of service you can't train into someone. Anyone can transfer a call or take a message. Rudy actually followed through, made sure I felt heard, and took ownership of a request that wasn't even his department. That instinct -- to go the extra step because it's the right thing to do, not because a script told him to -- is something you either have or you don't. Rudy has it. If you're looking for a resort that combines beautiful scenery, family-friendly amenities, island-inspired charm, and outstanding service, I highly recommend the Catamaran Resort Hotel & Spa. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back!

The entire facility was beautiful, spotless, and very well maintained. Our room was clean, comfortable, and exceeded our expectations. We had dinner at A.R. Valentien, where our waiter, Ryan, and the entire staff were attentive, welcoming, and provided outstanding service. The food was absolutely delicious, light, fresh, and beautifully prepared. We also enjoyed breakfast at The Grill. My 9-year-old son absolutely loved the pancakes, while my husband and I both ordered omelets that were incredibly flavorful and perfectly cooked. Every meal we had was excellent. One of our favorite parts of the stay was relaxing by the pool and enjoying the gorgeous views. The hotel also made the Fourth of July extra special for families by hosting a fun celebration with crafts, cookies and lemonade, cookie decorating, and kites for the kids to fly. Our son had the best time, and we loved the warm, family-friendly atmosphere. The valet staff were also wonderful: friendly, helpful, and always greeted us with a smile. This was truly a memorable stay, and we can't wait to return next year. If you're looking for a beautiful hotel with exceptional service, delicious dining, and a welcoming family atmosphere, we highly recommend staying here!

It was incredibly thoughtful and so appreciated. After that we all had a very relaxing time at the spa, and I had a great prenatal massage. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable, and ours offered a wonderful view of the bay and even the ocean beyond, with a clear view of Point Loma. Down below was Roy's Restaurant and the pool area. While our bay view king room did not have a balcony, the window did have the ability to slightly open if we wanted to hear the sounds or get some fresh air. With the window closed, the room was very quiet, so we had no noise issues. We also didn't hear noise from any neighbors, with the exception of the occasional person talking the hall or letting a room door close. Though the beds were not the most comfortable we've ever had, they were comfortable enough for both of us, though the pillows weren't my favorite because they were the kind of feather pillows you need to bunch up so they aren't too thin. They aren't very soft or spongy. Nonetheless, I was able to sleep on them sufficiently well. We can be a little picky about beds and getting good sleep, and we slept fine. Unfortunately, like many hotels, the sink, toilet, and shower/tub are all in one room, making it less convenient for two people to be doing things at the same time, especially since there is only one sink. There was a decent amount of lighting and space for toiletry items. We had no major complaints about the room, but we did have a broken toilet paper fixture in the bathroom on the wall next to the toilet that resulted in the toilet paper falling on the floor several times. Service was super friendly, but it was difficult to reach the front desk at times without a very long wait on the phone. When I called down to request a luggage rack for the room, I was told someone would bring one up, but it never came. I had to walk to the front desk to ask for one, which was later delivered. They do have an automated attendant that lets you request a limited number of items, and I was able to request a robe for my wife that way. While we were there, the elevators were a problem for a lot of people. For part of the time we were there, some in our tower were not working, causing relatively long waits for the remaining elevators and sometimes multiple stops on the way down or up at peak use times. The hotel said they were working on it, and things did seem to improve a little by the time we checked out. The property itself is beautiful and laid out well for its limited space in this part of town. Once inside, and even outside when walking the grounds near the pool, you are in a bit of a protected oasis that doesn't make you feel like you are sandwiched between the bay and the street out front. We ate outside every day with the conference, and the area we were in was super pleasant. There are a number of restaurants on property, but since we were usually eating with the conference, we didn't have time to try any except for the Marketplace. It was very expensive for most items, but the quality was really good, and we never had much of a wait. They serve Starbucks coffee here, but you can probably save a bit of money if you get that (or mobile order) from the on-site Starbucks, which is in a different part of the building. The food served at the conference was of good quality. If you go to many conferences, you'll find it to be competitive with any of the better resorts, though, in my opinion and as one might expect, it doesn't outshine the Ritz-Carlton or certain J.W. Marriott facilities. The food service staff for the conference were excellent, helpful, and fast. The hotel is in a very convenient area downtown on the bay next to the San Diego Convention Center. Traffic in the short distance between here and the freeway can be bad depending on time of day or events happening at either the convention center, downtown, or at Petco Park, where the Padres play, but the distance is short enough for it not to be much of a headache in most cases. I doubt you'll find very many cities with access this easy from the hotel to the airport and all of the local attractions, including, in this case, the Gaslamp District, Little Italy, Coronado, the bayside attractions, Balboa Park, the San Diego Zoo, and more. Hotel parking is expensive, of course, so if you don't really need a car, I highly recommend using Uber or Lyft or walking to get around to the nearest things. Overall, I would certainly stay here again, and I do highly recommend this hotel if you are attending a conference or vacationing in this part of the city and can afford the price point.

Staff says I check in a lot of people I don't remember you. After a little bit more discussion, she says your luggage is right over there confirming she did remember us. A little bit more petty bickering from Marriott employees than I'm used to and reluctance and resistance to take accountability for not providing up to Marriott standard service she gives us our room. I tried to add this to my TripAdvisor review, but it wouldn't let me. I had stayed at SD Mission Bay Resort for work and was so impressed that I convinced 14 of my closest friends and family members to stay here for one of the biggest weekends of my life. Our group spent well over $10,000 at the resort between rooms, restaurants, drinks, pool service, parking, and other purchases. Unfortunately, the weekend was one disappointment after another. The issues started immediately and never seemed to stop: * I was promised a bottle of Prosecco that never arrived, despite asking **four different employees** throughout our stay. * We experienced significant check-in issues because the primary person on our reservation was delayed, and there seemed to be very little communication or flexibility regarding our group reservation. * The parking gate and key system rarely worked correctly, making every trip in and out unnecessarily frustrating. * One room had a soaking wet floor and bed upon arrival. * I encountered a bathroom attendant who was surprisingly rude during what should have been a celebratory weekend. * On our final day, I was locked out of my room while we were trying to prepare for departure. * Most frustrating of all, we experienced a complete billing and payment fiasco. Because we had 14 people staying in four villa rooms, we worked out the financial arrangements before arriving. We specifically discussed billing with staff and were repeatedly assured that the credit cards on file would **not** be charged because we had already determined how expenses would be handled. That isn't what happened. Unexpected charges began appearing on cards that should never have been charged, creating complete chaos. Instead of enjoying time together, members of our group were trying to determine who had been billed, who still owed money, and how to untangle a situation that should have been straightforward. For a group this large, financial planning doesn't happen casually. We had already done the work before we arrived, which is why this breakdown in communication was so frustrating. What was most disappointing wasn't any single issue. It was the constant feeling that there was **always another problem**. Every time we thought something had been resolved, something else went wrong. It also became clear that communication among staff was severely lacking. We repeatedly found ourselves explaining the same situations to different employees because information simply wasn't being shared. Your bachelorette only happens once. I chose this resort because I wanted a seamless, relaxing weekend to simply enjoy time with my closest friends and family. Instead, I spent much of the weekend troubleshooting avoidable problems. I understand that no hotel is perfect and that isolated issues happen. But when you're hosting a large group celebrating a once-in-a-lifetime event, attention to detail and communication matter. I'm genuinely saddened because I truly loved this resort after my previous stay. Sadly, after this experience, I would **not** stay here again, and I certainly would not recommend this property for weddings, bachelorette parties, reunions, or any other milestone celebration that requires coordination and communication. I sincerely hope management takes this feedback seriously so future guests don't leave with the same disappointment that we did.

After dropping off our car with Mike and the guys at valet, Juan and Maxine took care of us at the front desk, putting us in the Del Mar suite with a view of the pool. Our room was a full king size bed with a living room and two full bathrooms with closets included. We also had an extra door to come in and out of as we pleased. We had a balcony that we enjoyed our pastry breakfast on the first full day there. It was nice to be back at the adults only pool, and we were helped by a nice server named Paige. Every day, she brought us water and our alcoholic choices. We also enjoyed a delicious hamburger, and guac and chips. On a short walk to the other pool, we enjoyed the tacos from the cantina and they were very impressive. One mushroom, carne asada and chicken street taco. Logan and the guys there were nice to find us and bring our lunch. From ten to almost 4, we spent a day, relaxing, playing crosswords, and betting on the ponies at Del Mar from the comfort of the pool. It was again a relaxing weekend with a little mix of celebrating with two bottles of champagne. A special thanks to the room service crew bringing us ice a number of times. It kept the bubbly cold and my wife with ice for her Pepsis when we ordered in at night. Juan again helped us check out and the guys at the valet got us going home. Pros: - the facility itself is impressive and the grounds were well kept - the live musician was talented and even engaged with some kids dancing up front - some of the small bites were quite good including 1 of the 4 savories and most of the sweet eats Cons: - the service was atrocious. The timing and attentiveness of service was some of the worst I've had. And this is unreal because that is essentially what you are paying for on a Mother's Day tea party - service and attentiveness. I couldn't believe for an establishment such as this that the management would accept the awful service. - Timing: We were seated ~30min past our seating time. We were not spoken to for the first ~15min after seating. They didn't adjust the sun umbrella until ~20 min after seating. The food took a forever back and forth due to issues (see below). Then to get our required valeted car - the line was over a 45 min wait (the line occupied the entire front of the hotel)! - Attentiveness: We were seated in the direct sun despite requesting to not be. We informed them of a walnut allergy for one of my kids via the OpenTable reservation. Then we had to inform the host as we were seated because they didn't know. The host wrote it on the back of a ticket. The waiter picked up the ticket. Then the person came to get our tea and he asked if we had any allergies. We mentioned the walnuts which he had no idea. Then, they brought us out food with walnuts!! haha. Unreal. We informed the delivering waiter (a different one than the rest). They took the kids tray away and then finally delivered a tray for our kids that had about half the original quantity. They didn't even serve the whole course to the non-allergic child. It was unbelievably inconsiderate. You can imagine how happy our Mom was on her special day as we all sat wondering what would happen to the kids food. - Tea: It was nothing special with one completely bitter. Never again. Advise to avoid on Mother's Day and go anywhere else.

Waited in front for five minutes and the doors opened! I felt like putting my face against the window while I waited and say, "open, open, open". I was greeted by a lovely young woman who checked me in and walked me around the grounds to show me around. As I came so early, I had the place to myself for the first two hours. I used the gym, took a swim, went in a couple of Jacuzzis until my girlfriends arrived at 9:30 AM. I'm more of an introvert, so it was perfect. Altogether, we took a yoga class at the beautiful yoga pavilion. We sat by the pool and had a lovely lunch. The food was excellent, including the complementary treats and banana bread. The only negative about the pool was that we were told if we left for more than 20 minutes our belongings would be removed. We couldn't hold our chairs for the day. That was news to us. It was a warm 90° day on a Friday in March and the community and hotel is allowed to use the spa grounds and they all showed up. Every lounge chair was full. Note to self: come Monday through Thursday. The massage: I'm going to say it's one of the best massages I've ever had in my life (and I've been to other five star spas). Pure bliss. Jackie was my masseuse. She listened to me when I asked for stronger pressure and then from there, I went into another world of goodness. She had such love in her eyes when it was all done. This is the most expensive massage I've ever had in my life. Around $400 for a 60 minute massage (with tax and tip) not including lunch. But treating ourselves once in a while is worth it. Depending on my energy level, I will sometimes take a yoga class prior to my massage. If this review were solely for the Spa, it would be hands down a 5 star! However, it is also for the restaurant by the pool where most of us go post-treatment for lunch. Yesterday I had Lila, & as soon as I put in my order, she had asked if I were staying there & since I was not a hotel guest, she asked me upfront for my card on file. Typically when I have gone there for lunch, they wait until the end to charge you out and/or assist you with the bill. It felt a bit off, considering that after I sat down, another Caucasian lady and her daughter found a spot to sit near me. Alex was their server, & as he took the order, he didn't ask if they were hotel guests &/or if he could put their card on file. Later I happened to walk by the bar area where the servers hang out, & I asked to speak with Lila. I let her know I have been coming here for years & no one has ever asked for me to give them my card on file upfront. I asked her if they have had a few Dine n' Dash situations? She let me know she has been there under a year but she has been asking for cards b/c some people think their food is taken care of when they leave the pool & then check out for their treatments. As a result, they are out of tips and can't go after the customers. I told her it is disappointing to hear that at such a nice place at Rancho Valencia that people would do such a thing. Even if people are coming for the first time, most humans would ask what is the best way to charge out and work it out with the waiter and/or when I have been there, the waiter or waitress will ask if I need anything else, and if not, then they will bring me the check (or I tell them hey I am ready to cash out). I had just had a fabulous massage with Noel (who is my new favorite therapist there) so to have this awkward experience when I am ready to eat and relax by the pool was really not great. To be fair, there are regulars who go there, but it was clear that she didn't recognize me & so decided to ask me upfront for my card. Whereas Alex another server, helping customers next to me, didn't ask the Caucasian lady for her card upfront. And what is so funny is that when the Caucasian lady got her food, the order was all wrong - they put dressing in her salad, put tofu on the side, and put bacon in her salad when she asked for bacon to be taken out etc. Alex was super apologetic for the mix-up in the kitchen, and the whole time I kept thinking, I wished he were my server because he was so nice and treated the lady next to me the way I have always been treated -when I have come here. Lila was more defensive and kept saying "Oh we ask for cards here and you can speak to my manager etc." I didn't come out and ask why there was a disparity from how she asked for my card upfront versus how other servers just took orders like a normal restaurant and then let guests relax and pay at the end. I still love this SPA and will come to get a treatment, but the inequality I felt from being asked for my card upfront was a subtle jab that made my overall experience not as pleasant.
