We were a party of five, including one child under 12. We arrived very early for our departure. The gentleman directing traffic made me drive all the way around another lane, even though there wasn't a single car behind me, just so I could pull up next to him. It seemed unnecessary, but not a huge deal. The first real disappointment came at the ticket window around 6:30 a.m. The woman working there was incredibly rude, short-tempered, and dismissive. A smile or a simple "good morning" would have gone a long way. If working with people has become that frustrating, perhaps customer service isn't the right position. The ferry ride itself was fantastic! The boat was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The restrooms, both at the terminal and onboard, were spotless, and the crew on the ferry was friendly and professional. The ride to Key West was one of the highlights of our trip. Unfortunately, our vacation was cut short when one member of our group experienced a heart-related medical issue, forcing us to return a day early. We called the company and were told we could take the Sunday evening ferry back, which sounded accommodating at first. However, we were then charged an additional $60 per person--including the child--even though we already had round-trip tickets. On top of that, we received no refund or credit for the parking. We had prepaid $40 for two nights, but because we returned later than planned, we ended up paying for a third day as well. Considering the parking lot was nearly empty, some flexibility or goodwill would have been appreciated during a medical emergency. We were instructed to arrive after 1:00 p.m. to pick up our boarding passes for the 6:00 p.m. departure. We arrived at 1:30 p.m. and were immediately told we were "late" and would now be assigned to Group B boarding. The woman at the counter was shockingly rude. She rolled her eyes, spoke to us in a belittling tone, and even stated that she was "over 65 and doesn't give a s*** anymore dealing with people." I've never heard a customer service employee speak that way to paying customers. The experience only got worse. When Group A boarding was called, I stood up because I thought it was our turn. The same employee actually rushed out from behind the counter waving her arms and motioning for me to sit back down, as if I had done something wrong. It was embarrassing, unnecessary, and completely unprofessional. It's unfortunate because the ferry itself is excellent. The boat, the ride, and the onboard staff deserve five stars. Unfortunately, the employees at the ticket counter turned what should have been a wonderful experience into a stressful and unpleasant one. We travel often and understand that emergencies happen. A little compassion, professionalism, and kindness would have made all the difference. Instead, we left feeling like we were an inconvenience. Sadly, despite loving the ferry ride itself, our entire group agreed that next time we'd rather drive the seven hours from Sarasota than deal with the ticket office again. 2/5 stars One star for the wonderful ferry ride and onboard crew. One star for the clean, comfortable boat. The remaining three stars were lost because of the consistently rude, dismissive, and unprofessional customer service at the ticket office.

We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go, but it was still quiet and relaxing when we were back at the hotel. The property was clean, charming, and well maintained. We enjoyed the breakfast and coffee each morning before heading out for the day, and the staff was friendly throughout our stay. We happened to be there for my birthday, and when we arrived there was a birthday banner hanging in our room, which was a fun surprise. They also had ear plugs available in the room. Neither is a big thing on its own, but together they showed an attention to detail that we appreciated. Overall, it was the perfect home base for a few days of exploring Key West, eating great food, and enjoying island time. We'd gladly stay here again.

The staff member who cooked breakfast was also quite personable and set up a very nice buffet breakfast, which was delicious. Fresh croissants, scrambled eggs, pancakes, fresh fruit, yogurt...the buffet breakfast and the complimentary sangria between 3-4 were among the highlights of staying here. The rooms were fairly typical Key West, somewhat small, some bathrooms were updated and others were not. We stayed during an unusual cold spell and had to use the wall heater. It was loud and put out an unfavorable smell. It took some time, but it did eventually burn off. We could have used some instruction on the various remotes. One was for the air/heat wall unit, one was for the ceiling fan and the other for the TV. We never could figure out how to turn off the fan. The room was decently clean, but needed a good dusting. Overall, we would stay here again. The location, food and drink are really good, the bed is comfortable, but the room could use a bit better cleaning and instructions for using the remotes. The area outside our second floor room was large and private with chairs to relax in. That was nice, too, as well as the pool.

Walk to moon dog!) Pros: *LOCATION location location Right off duval - can't beat it but again it depends on what you're looking for (Duval = noise) *PARKING!!! Absolute pro When it comes to key west, parking is expensive and at times difficult to find For being off duval, having a designated parking lot a couple steps away with in and out privileges included in the price is rare and an extremely big bonus *Walgreens right next door for drinks, snacks and anything you forgot *fridge & microwave in room *coffee machine *ice bucket & ice machine *water cooler in hallway *room stocked - sounds silly but I appreciate it when there is plenty of tp, cups, et There were 3 rolls of tp, plenty of drink cups, plenty of coffee cups, and rolls of trash bags in both trash cans along with tissues and 2 pool towels *25 yrs old and up to check in We had room 201 facing duval Cons: - noise Even with our sound machine, music from Willie Ts could be heard It didn't bother us much but only because we had the sound machine to drown it out The room above us had the heaviest foot guests There was a loud boom with every step I would have definitely preferred to be on the top floor It was worse noisewise over the duval noise - incidental fee 300$ !?!? It was not mentioned when I booked Seems extreme to me - cleanliness Nothing to make us leave (bed and towels clean) but the bathroom shower wasn't fully cleaned (hair) & there was hair around bottom of toilet Empty water bottle under bed Stained decorative bed pillow that should just be tossed Stained (moldy?) terrace chairs that need to be replaced - tv = low resolution cable channels If you're a tv snob like me, this is a con Tips: Put the sign on your door for service or no service For a three night stay, we didn't need/want anyone to come in It was a bit surprising that they came in while we were out the first morning there Some people like that, we prefer to not have anyone in the room while we're gone As for art deco - do not expect to see that in the renovated rooms The only art deco aspect I saw was the exterior of the building

Beware of bugs in every bed!…read more I'm not even a customer that typically writes reviews, especially complaints. However, if I could give zero stars I would, this was by far the worst hotel experience I have ever had. I was a returning customer to this facility, but never again. We visited last July (same time of year) & everything was great. Upon our return we could not have had a worse experience. This hotel should be ashamed of the staff that they employ. Rude, dismissive and unhelpful. Being a tourist destination, hospitality should be the bare minimum and this place is a poor excuse. The staff hides in the back office instead of addressing the problems at hand. All employees also divert to Michael who was apparently management, but not available after multiple attempts of visiting the front desk. At our arrival there were bugs present in every bed. When I went to the office to report the bugs I was told these conditions are normal for Florida and there is nothing they could do except for send housekeeping in and "spray" the next day. I was told that infestations happen and maybe it won't happen the next day... but there was no way for them to know. I was laughed at when confirmed by staff that their cleaning and spraying wouldn't fix the problem. The staff even stated that this is a common occurrence for their property and that nothing would be done. I was offered a $45 refund for "daily amenity fee" from their management- Michael. What a joke, we got the amenity of free bugs in our bed. When housekeeping was sent in, sheets were changed, but there were multiple bugs still present. When I addressed the problem again I was dismissed by the office staff, who proceeded to leave the front desk and sit in the back office unless he saw other customers enter on the camera. I was offered no refund or offer to change rooms. Please think twice before ruining your vacation and booking with such an atrocious establishment.

Susie acted as though she got me a great deal on a hotel room and time was of the essence. According to her, it was half the price as normal. I agreed to the price and gave her my card info. Turns out, all she did was just take my card and book the room online (I could have easily done this). She never emailed me any confirmation info and just said "all set." Then texts me a screenshot where she used HER contact information for MY booking. When I asked if she could coordinate an early arrival she declined saying she doesn't contact the hotel for her guests? What a strange way to respond as a TRAVEL AGENT. I, myself, took the whopping 10 minutes to call and confirm the booking, and arrange an early arrival, with zero help from Susie. When I got to the hotel, it turns out it was actually $100 more than what Susie had quoted me!!! but by then obviously it's too late. Post vacation, I asked Susie yet again to email me confirmation of my stay so that I can use it for my records and now she has just stopped responding. Congrats, Susie, on taking a "well deserved commission" on my behalf. Steer clear of her services, save the headache and just book your own room online, that's all she does anyway.
