This place was a recommendation and craving from one of the friends. He has been itching to have Indian food and it had to be at Ambala Sweets & Snacks! Here we had Dani puri, pani puri, kaju kathali, samosa chat, and a few mango lassis. Everything was DELICIOUS. However, beware as the samosa chat can be spicier than expected. The mango lassi had just the right kind of sweetness! Dropping by for a quick snack definitely got us wanting more than what we intended to get. Definitely worth a visit!

Very delicious quality of Indian sweets and snacks. We ordered some pani puri to eat inside then took some sweets to-go. The pani puri was excellent, the pani had so much flavor. They had a variety of sweets, all made fresh. It's a small space and you order at the counter with the kind uncles.

We wandered into this bustling shop for a sweet treat after lunch. One of the staffers happily provided sample tastes of various items including a diamond-shaped cashew confection, and little orange puffed lentil balls. Both were delicious without being overly sweet. My friend ordered the popular doughnut in a sweet honey sauce. Paired with hot chai tea, it was the perfect ending to a great day in old town Artesia. Highly recommended.

Two boxes in photo, because after shopping around the city, I went back and bought more. Regret not buying even more.

From the service to the quality of the sweets, everything at Ambala is amazing. I wish I had purchased more. I will be returning soon for more milk cake, more ladoo, more everything.

Once upon a time, another Yelp-worthy find! What a wonderful place to enjoy sumptuous desserts. We ordered the yogurt ice cream and two lovely cakes. Not a crumb was left! Highly recommend a stop here. The end.

I started eating here in the 80s, when a friend from South India took me there. I've been going back regularly ever since. I almost always order the same thing, which is the #2 Combo. It includes perhaps the best Chana Masala I've ever had, a truly remarkable Samosa, a densely delicious semi-savory cake in yogurt, a mix of pickle (lately, they've been adding lemon pickle, which is divine!) and raw onion, a choice of flat breads (we got the Poori), and a pillowy cake floating in a pool of sweet milk. The combo also comes with the classic red/green sauce (tamarind and cilantro[?]), which makes everything taste better. I almost always get a chai tea. The menu is vast, which can feel daunting until you realize that half of it describes the various confections, and savory snacks, on offer in the case. Most are sold by the pound. Be courageous, and try something. If you've never had golob jamun, for example, prepare to have your mind blown. I'm particularly fond of the Chilli Pakora, which is a whole breaded deep fried chili stuffed with seasoned potato. I'm also fond of their spiced cashews. Their mango lassi is very popular, and I'd get it if I weren't so lactose intolerant. This place is super casual. You can order at one of two kiosks, or at the counter. The owner, Mr. Singh, is often there in his elegant red turban, always happy to answer questions. All of the staff is friendly, and everything comes out quickly, brought out on cafeteria trays, and served on paper plates with plastic cutlery. Bussing is self-serve but, if you need anything, just ask. They recently upgraded the tables and chairs, which are quite nice, and even added a few outside for alfresco dining. (We used to bring our dog, and he'd sit outside with us.) Inside, they've gone out of their way to make the place look festive, with brightly colored garlands, and other beautiful decorations. Ambala Sweets & Snacks has reasonable prices, excellent food, great service, and a super casual vibe. Definitely worth a visit!

The service was okay, not nice but gets the job done. The place is pretty crowded and the area for sugar and such hasn't been cleaned in a while. The chai was honestly not even chai, like flavored milk. Please don't get it, no amount of sugar helps it. The sweets are okay but the experience is very overwhelming.

The parking was pretty empty and there was no line, so why not? FYI there is overflow parking next door so do not fret if you can't find one in their little lot. The restaurant itself is like a cafe with pretty cool waitresses and bussers. There is a cute electric train that runs around the top ledge of the dining room which I thought was pretty cute. As for the food, I had the chorizo and eggs plate. It came with tortillas and refried beans. It was delicious and was simple but great. If needed, they have a soyrizo version too. Overall, pretty chill cafe and affordable. We will definitely be back.

Inside, the place is clean but definitely could use some updates - 6/10. Staff were very nice and friendly, though I wish coffee refills were automatic - 7/10. The food reminds me of home cooking. I really enjoyed their Mexican dishes but preferred the breakfast menu overall. The hobo omelet and breakfast potatoes had great flavor. However, the biscuits and gravy were disappointing, tasting like store-bought biscuits and canned gravy--probably from Costco or Sam's Club. Coffee was very good, but I wish someone would walk around constantly refilling cups. Overall, a decent spot with some room for improvement.
