This place was a recommendation and craving from one of the friends. He has been itching to have Indian food and it had to be at Ambala Sweets & Snacks! Here we had Dani puri, pani puri, kaju kathali, samosa chat, and a few mango lassis. Everything was DELICIOUS. However, beware as the samosa chat can be spicier than expected. The mango lassi had just the right kind of sweetness! Dropping by for a quick snack definitely got us wanting more than what we intended to get. Definitely worth a visit!

Very delicious quality of Indian sweets and snacks. We ordered some pani puri to eat inside then took some sweets to-go. The pani puri was excellent, the pani had so much flavor. They had a variety of sweets, all made fresh. It's a small space and you order at the counter with the kind uncles.

Wanted to try pani puri and I found this spot. Really worker taught me how to eat it. I usually don't like sweet chutney but this one was great not overly sweet. The prices are quite reasonable, also grabbed a half pound of assorted desserts. Not too busy of a store, you'll find parking easily or street parking. Overall great experience I'll come back if I'm craving snacky Indian food.

We wandered into this bustling shop for a sweet treat after lunch. One of the staffers happily provided sample tastes of various items including a diamond-shaped cashew confection, and little orange puffed lentil balls. Both were delicious without being overly sweet. My friend ordered the popular doughnut in a sweet honey sauce. Paired with hot chai tea, it was the perfect ending to a great day in old town Artesia. Highly recommended.

    Love the desserts!

Once upon a time, another Yelp-worthy find! What a wonderful place to enjoy sumptuous desserts. We ordered the yogurt ice cream and two lovely cakes. Not a crumb was left! Highly recommend a stop here. The end.

Great good as always. Tried aloo tikki and pani puri, will definitely get them again.

Two boxes in photo, because after shopping around the city, I went back and bought more. Regret not buying even more.

From the service to the quality of the sweets, everything at Ambala is amazing. I wish I had purchased more. I will be returning soon for more milk cake, more ladoo, more everything.

Been coming here since I was a kid myself and omg they food flavor and everything remains deliciously amazing. The customer service is always on point and they really give you the flavor of back home. This place has so many of my childhood memories and now my kid loves this place. This place is thumbs up forever and ever. The owner is super sweet and caring about his customers. Lovvvvvveeeeeeee everything about their food and the hospitality they offer.

The owner, Mr Singh, is a kind and friendly gentleman.

I started eating here in the 80s, when a friend from South India took me there. I've been going back regularly ever since. I almost always order the same thing, which is the #2 Combo. It includes perhaps the best Chana Masala I've ever had, a truly remarkable Samosa, a densely delicious semi-savory cake in yogurt, a mix of pickle (lately, they've been adding lemon pickle, which is divine!) and raw onion, a choice of flat breads (we got the Poori), and a pillowy cake floating in a pool of sweet milk. The combo also comes with the classic red/green sauce (tamarind and cilantro[?]), which makes everything taste better. I almost always get a chai tea. The menu is vast, which can feel daunting until you realize that half of it describes the various confections, and savory snacks, on offer in the case. Most are sold by the pound. Be courageous, and try something. If you've never had golob jamun, for example, prepare to have your mind blown. I'm particularly fond of the Chilli Pakora, which is a whole breaded deep fried chili stuffed with seasoned potato. I'm also fond of their spiced cashews. Their mango lassi is very popular, and I'd get it if I weren't so lactose intolerant. This place is super casual. You can order at one of two kiosks, or at the counter. The owner, Mr. Singh, is often there in his elegant red turban, always happy to answer questions. All of the staff is friendly, and everything comes out quickly, brought out on cafeteria trays, and served on paper plates with plastic cutlery. Bussing is self-serve but, if you need anything, just ask. They recently upgraded the tables and chairs, which are quite nice, and even added a few outside for alfresco dining. (We used to bring our dog, and he'd sit outside with us.) Inside, they've gone out of their way to make the place look festive, with brightly colored garlands, and other beautiful decorations. Ambala Sweets & Snacks has reasonable prices, excellent food, great service, and a super casual vibe. Definitely worth a visit!

The inside is small with about handful of tables and "earthy " decor including a wooden trunk!! The Loco Moco was definitely a standout. The flavors, textures, and presentation were all on point. The only recommitted loco moco is ask the gravy on the side meal was overtly drench with the sauce. We also tried the "fish tacos" (vegan version, of course) and were really impressed and taco was crunchy, but my only complaint is it was messy eating after the 2nd bite -- the fillings seemed to be falling apart and out of the taco shell. The food is flavorful and honestly makes you forget you're eating vegan. The service was great---friendly staff and fast service. Whether you're vegan or just curious about trying plant-based comfort food, I will come back to Mustard Seed a try the burritos next time.

Customer service was also ON POINT, there was A LOT of traffic upon walking in therefore I KNEW there was a strong possibility I was about to get my monies worth and taste buds were gonna be happy right along with my tummy! People were seated and coming in and some coming out I LOVE THAT! also the woman who took my order TOOK MY ORDER and the woman who brought my food out to me... I need to make this update: Me and my husband ate here again today (8/30/26) This is his 4th visit…read morein the last 3 weeks; two of which I went with him. He said that it has declined with each visit... Nobody was at the counter to take our order when we walked in. We waited for a few minutes then said "hello" to see if anyone came out. They did not. We ended up ordering on the kiosk (which we don't like doing, we'd rather order with a human). The guy finally came out, took someone else's order after us and his food came out within a couple of minutes. No joke. Meanwhile, it took our food 12 minutes; which isn't terribly long but we were already turned off at this point... I asked for more water (they have a self serve water jug), the guy didn't fill it. I asked for water again when our food came out (different guy). Then several minutes later the original guy said he filled the water. Ate our food. My bean and cheese burrito was meh. Kind of bland with not much cheese, and the cheese it did have was all clumped in one spot, not spread out evenly. My husband got his usual three tacos. He was very unhappy with them today. He upgraded to the homemade tortillas. They feel apart. He said it reminded him of tamale masa, they just crumbled apart. CONSISTENCY matters. We left unsatisfied and likely will not return. It quickly went from "wow this place is amazing, we found a new awesome taco spot" to "well, that was short lived". I'd also like to mention his 3rd visit with our daughter. They ordered. Waited 25 minutes. Still no food. He asked about it and they never put the ticket in to be made. UGH.

Now, let's talk about the food: The Secret Salsa: Absolutely hit the spot! Savory with just the right amount of kick. Chilaquiles: My dad ordered these and was blown away. He got them with two sauces, and he particularly loved the red sauce, which was al estilo Oaxaca mole. They cooked his eggs exactly to order and accommodated his request for extra raw onions alongside all the delicious classic toppings (sour cream and queso fresco). Drinks: They have a great variety of soft drinks, including Diet Coke and Coke Zero. (If you're looking for coffee, definitely stop by right when they open, as they might be replenishing inventory later in the day!) A quick heads-up for first-timers: The dining area can run a bit warm and there are no public restrooms at this location, so plan accordingly. However, that wouldn't deter us for a second--the chips, salsa, and overall quality are way too good to pass up. It was great seeing local regulars picking up to-go orders while we were there. Working just down the road on Studebaker, I know I am going to be a frequent regular from now on. Classy place, amazing flavor, and wonderful people--we will definitely be back as often as we can!

You'll think, wow, I'll probably need a box to-go, but somehow you'll eat it all in one sitting! Sometimes you have to write your name down at the check-in stand out front in order to get a table. But I've never had to wait too long. The servers really pay attention to anything you might need without rushing you or asking lots of questions. So I think that's how they keep the wait time short. The vibes here are just 10/10 for a family breakfast. Our toddler likes watching the model train that circles the upper windows of the restaurant. It's busy so there's lots of pleasant background noise. You can watch the traffic go by on Lakewood Blvd. Prices aren't too steep. I've ordered takeout and delivery from here as well and never had any complaints. Parking can be hard to find in the lot right next to the restaurant but can usually be found right away in the back lot. Overall, just a nice neighborhood spot to eat.
