This was my second time here. Delicious and varied spread - the menu changes often. All their preparations are tasty - some sabjis are oily (the okra is yumm but quite oily). Always enjoy their kadhi. Chaas is also served. The unlimited thali also comes with a dessert. I got their rose falooda ice cream (the ice cream was good; the presentation and quantity were ok). We ordered two (unlimited) thali, pulav, a mango lassi, and Falooda ice cream / Shrikhand for dessert. I loved all the food and buttermilk drinks we got! It was my first time trying the buttermilk drinks. I also really appreciated the finger bowls/napkins we were given before dessert. Service was really courteous and top notch. Great restaurant serving up traditional Indian food served Thali style (multiple different dishes, breads, and sauces served on a large round platter). This place serves a set vegetarian menu daily which provides an opportunity to try multiple soups, curries, breads, and sauces and it's all you can eat. My favorites were the Roti Bread, bhajia, and potato curry. They also allow you to choose from one of many desserts to end your meal. Even if this style of food is new to you the staff is very helpful and welcoming and will walk you through the process. Definitely check this place out. P.S. Our family and friends have gone to Rajdhani at 18525 Pioneer Blvd Artesia, CA 90701 many times over many years. Unfortunately, recently the quality of the food has gone down. The buttermilk is more watery, the food is cooked and fried in canola oil which is a petro based product, and the variety of food is more limited. The mango dessert no longer has saffron. :/ Otherwise, dishes do commensurate with a $30.00 per person price tag even though overall quality has diminished. In addition, we like our table cleared of dirty dishes and napkins before enjoying dessert. However, when the server removed the dirty dishes but left the pile of dirty napkins for a table of four, we asked the manager to please clear the dirty napkins, she just outwardly blew us off. Then we asked the owner to please have the pile removed and she blew us off. When we asked a service provider, he said to just leave it there! :/ No trash cans were visible so we could discard it ourselves. When we insisted, a sever came with a dirty trash can promptly us to throw it away ourselves. :/ The bathrooms are unsightly with no paper towels and the air drier is right by the door in which whoever opens the door to enter suddenly will bang your hands dangerously so if you don't quickly remove them. Finally, the manager lady herds customers like cattle with no curtesy whatsoever! Very disappointing experience. read more

I said "excuse me" multiple times and we were intentionally ignored. We were told the wait would only be 15 minutes and instead ended up waiting almost an hour. The staff is very friendly and they keep refilling with the rotis and curries until we stop, and that is very important when we sit for Thali. Bumping up my star level, because this really has become my very favorite place for Indian food. I've returned a handful of times since my review in 2019 and it still is as good as ever. The price has increased, so it's no longer the deal it once was but you still get a lot of food. My favorites have been the potato, mixed veg, blackeyed pea curries. I also love the breads, roti and pani puri that they offer. The bhajiya fritters are also always quite good. The service is still good, always asking if I want more of something or there to refill my water, but it does seem like they are doing this in attempt rush me out of there. read more

It was their first time trying Gujarati food and they loved it! This is the perfect place for traditional Gujarati food. Even the mini thali is a large enough portion to fill you up, with 3 puri and roti, 3 sabji, rice, many little snacks and appetizers, daal, and dessert. Vegetarian paradise, but we consistently feel like it's too spicy. The number of items on their unlimited refills thali (around $25 per person) is mind boggling; from buttermilk to drink to pakoras & dhoklas for starters, chapati or poori & 3 side dishes for the mains, followed by rice and a selection of desserts (can pick from gulab jamun, falooda ice cream, carrot halwa etc). But despite all this, we leave the establishment feeling a tad dissatisfied... bec of the high spice level in most dishes and cost. It's almost impossible to be vegan and not consume the buttermilk (made of yogurt) cause the spice level is hiiiigh. It's a nice ambience (indoor and outdoor available) and service is usually excellent. Recently found out that they have a mini thali which has a smaller selection of items (without unlimited refills), and is more cost effective. Fantastic place to eat. The flavors are so rich with spices and very healthy. There are some gluten free options, and the all you can eat menu is fit for a king! Authentic vegetarian Thali food is very delicious. I came here with my family and I have to say that you must taste the flavors first and then ask the waiters how to eat everything to get the full experience to enjoy each dish. Everything tasted good though. I almost can't critique anything. You are served a salted yogurt drink in the beginning and for anyone who hasn't tried it, just make sure they fill your cup halfway. It's an acquired taste but I believe the probiotics in the drink will aid in digesting all the spices from the meal. Therefore I recommend taking a gulp or two first. The breads/naan/roti, are light and airy which go so well with all the chutney's and curry. The desserts at the end was also satisfying and for my order, I enjoyed the rose basil ice cream which magically took out all the spices from my mouth. The decorations is beautiful and the restaurant is clean. They definitely look bustling on weekends and have a strong local crowd. I came here on Wednesday which is their slowest day for lunch, and I thoroughly enjoyed the privacy of my meal. Although it did start to fill up around 1pm. Will come here again with vegetarian friends another night just to enjoy some authentic Indian Thali flavors. This place is amazing for vegetarian food lovers. They serve traditional Gujarati style Thali. Gujarati people usually are foodies and this place serves their appetite well. On any given day, this place serves full/unlimited thali, mini/limited thali and kids meals. Full thali comes with 3 curries, dal, kadhi, roti, puri, farsan, chutney, dhokla, rice, khichdi and chaas. Mini thali has pretty much all of these with options to pick one from roti/puri, rice/khichdi and all is one time serve. Both thalis come with one dessert serving at the end. The service is very prompt once you get the table. It took us about 15 minutes to get the table as they were busy. The servers are continuously coming with the items and checking if we want any refills. Th ambience is also really nice. It is lively with lot of people talking while eating and servers running around with the items. I have been visiting this place now for more than 15 years and it has never disappointed me. I was eager to introduce Thali to two people who had never had it before, so off to Rajdhani it was! The restaurant is located on the second floor, so you have to find the specific stairway/elevator that takes you up. There was quite a crowd of people (mostly Indian customers) waiting when we arrived around 12:30PM on a Friday. We put our name down on the list and waited on the patio deck area (nice views). We had to wait about 30-40 minutes for a table for a party of 3. Once we were seated, service was prompt with explanation of the two meal types (unlimited or limited [one-time] thali). The metal platter was squeaky shiny clean, and food started coming to our table quickly and regularly. We thoroughly enjoyed the delectable breads, rice, pakora, sabzi, and vegetables, full of flavor and several packing a punch (spice). The buttermilk was a bit salty for me, but you also get water. Food was fresh and hot, and you definitely won't leave hungry if you opt for the unlimited thali! Price as of November 2021 was $21 + tax for unlimited lunch thali, which is fair. Note: this is a vegetarian Gujarati restaurant. You only get one service of dessert per person, but there are 5 options. The dessert was a bit too sweet for my tastes, but I appreciated the warm bowl of lime water to wash up before dessert. I am by no means an Indian food expert, and can understand some other Yelp reviewers' complaining that Rajdhani no longer offers papad/papadum or salad, but overall I think that Rajdhani offers a really cool thali experience, and few places offer unlimited thali food. read more

Rajdhani isn't a meal; it is an experience! After having this on my list for years, I finally arrived to Artesia this weekend to try out Rajdhani, a Gujarati restaurant serving vegetarian Thali. For $19 per person, it's all you can eat of whatever food they have for the day, including a complimentary dessert of your choice. I had coworkers from India who recommended it to me and also warned me it was authentic (i.e. very spicy!) This place is popular among Indian guests, and there is usually a one-hour wait (I was told by staff), but we got lucky during Saturday lunch and were seated the second we walked through the door. I had barely taken my seat when the first server approached to ask, "Are you ready to start?" and he was ready to go that instant. I can't remember a time when I was served right away like this, wow! Immediately the large silver platters and empty, small bowls that would hold the Thali dishes were placed before us, and huge arches were poured spectacularly into silver cups for water and buttermilk (thin white liquid to temper the spiciness and aid with digestion). Next came a series of servers who approached with trays and bowls, bringing out different Thali dishes and freshly-made breads in a quick, organized fashion. The curries that day were okra and onion (the least spicy but still spicy for me), potato (burning hot spicy!), and lentils (medium spicy). There was also a warm, white yogurt soup and a red colored lentil soup with peanuts. I enjoyed how the servers kept coming back to offer and dish out seconds and thirds, whatever you could fit in your belly! As a first-timer, the staff explained the dishes and how to eat them. The best part were each offering of fresh steaming roti (unleavened whole wheat flatbread that stretches big and which was carefully folded twice before serving on my plate); piping hot puri (puffed wheat bread); and the dhokla (bright yellow lentil cake cut into perfect squares). The breads went well with the curries, which we were encouraged to dip into. The dhokla was incredibly light and fluffy, a feat not easily achieved! I felt like royalty with the endless, friendly service. The final course included two different rices which are served after you've had your fill on the curries, soups, breads. There is a yellow colored biryani style one that pairs with the yogurt soup and plain white basmati rice that goes well with the lentil soup. We finished our meals with falooda ice cream, which was rose flavored and topped with basil seeds, super refreshing given all the spiciness and the mid-90s hot weather outside. Overall, it was such a fun experience and great exposure to Indian food and culture. I recommend trying it at least once! Pretty surprised with all the good reviews at this place. Maybe there is a big veg community that frequents this, for whom this is perfect for. If you eat non-veg this will not be satisfying as the veg dishes are pretty plain. And not worth the money. Service wasn't great upfront but better at the tables. Surprisingly bad food options for a Saturday lunch. Concept is great. It's all you can eat, and they will serve you. Could have been really good if their food selection was better. Served with salt lassi. They got rid of the salad/papad, which should be there at bare minimum. Dhokla was the highlight. Puri, roti, and khichdi were fine. The veg selection was bad as most of the dishes tasted similar or it was just bunch of different kinds of dal. One was a brinjal dish. Nothing stood out. The saddest part was the bell pepper pakodas. Batter did not coat everything and was undercooked. A simple onion (or really any other veg) Pakoda would have been so much better. And probably would have been cheaper for them to make. We had shrikhand for dessert. It was fine. Service and ambience: we asked if we could sit outside, and were told they weren't allowing. I realized it could be because they do outdoor/indoor in batches as they serve everyone at the same time. They make you wait to get in once they have enough people to sit down (to serve at once). They did constantly bring out fresh food, and the servers were great. COVID precaution: they wear masks and there is sanitizer upfront. What a treat. My friend is vegetarian so this was her pick. My mouth is very happy. Watermelon curry. Potato & fenugreek and yellow dal. Pakoras. Dhokla (steamed chickpea flour cakes. It has muatard seeds in it.) Kadhi- yoghurt curry and sweet dal with peanuts. And two kinds of rice(masala & plain). Every day the menu is different. The service is constant with the wait staff bringing treats, more Chaas (buttermilk with spices) and cold water. All included. I love Indian food but this is very different. I was there yesterday and loved every single thing they served us as part of thali. They keep changing the veggies but whatever I have eaten in past few visits has been delicious. Don't forget to save some space for the dessert. I love the mohanthal. A few things to note is that they only offer fixed menu thali where they will serve you as much as you can eat. Dessert, unfortunately, is not unlimited and you get only one serving of it. They have a couple of options in the dessert menu. They also serve chaas that is really cooling. If you're not super hungry, you can order mini thaali where you're served everything but it's not eat as much as you can. Regular thali costs $26.99 and mini thali costs $19.99. Visited this place for lunch with a group of friends as it was highly recommended. We walked in on a weekday and the restaurant was relatively empty. As a Gujarati, I was intrigued by the idea of eating homestyle Gujarati food. This restaurant follows the "thali" model - whereby you get a large plate and servers will walk around offering servings of different dishes, ranging from appetizers, sabjis, daals to rotis and puris. There's also 1 complimentary dessert included in the thali. The host/servers were friendly and prompt with their handling of requests, making sure you were never left with an empty thali! Food was delicious and with the variety, there was something to appeal to all taste buds. I was pleasantly surprised by the authenticity. Overall, we had a great experience here. The worst dining experience ever. The owner of the restaurant kept watching us as if we are some criminals. Because of us didn't order the unlimited thali. So the entire staff kept watching us if we are sharing. The food was too oily and cold. The service was so bad. We had to stand up and ask for items. We made a 40-minute journey to savor the Gujarati thali. Opting for outdoor seating meant we were seated right away, while indoor seating had a 20-minute wait on a Saturday lunchtime. The patio is pleasant on sunny days. The thali was served promptly, each dish explained to us, and every item delighted our taste buds except for the chana dal, which was less to our liking. Our only critique would be the excessive oil in the dishes, but the flavors were outstanding. For dessert, the Gulab Jamun and Shrikand were sublime. This is definitely going to be a harsh review. To begin with, they are rude and have less or no customer service. On top of that they charge you 20% default Gratuity for 7 people which is completely wrongful if them. The suggested CA law is 15%. They don't serve you some foods which were served before due to inflation, in fact they tell you that on your face. On top of that they have increased their per person cost for their unlimited thali. I would not recommend anyone as their cleanliness is 0%. Their chairs are nasty in fact the chairs have black stuff all over. When asked, they said "They don't have time to wash them" and I was like WOW! They are very rude when asked to serve water or even asking anything extra. There is absolutely no customer service. Our total was $262 which had 20% and I am not kidding 20% gratuity. They charged us $23.99 for adults for unlimited thali and mind you the food had no taste, the dal (lentils) had access salt, it was a complete disappointment and a disaster of $262. Never recommending nor never coming back. If you guys ever want to try Indian Traditional Gujarati food, DM me and come over. My mom makes amazing Gujarati cuisine she would be happy to feed guests. Rajdhani is my go to spot for Thali, staying true to my Gujrati roots :) The authentic flavours transport me back home. The puris, dal, khaman, guvar dhokli nu shaak, khichdi-kadhi, bhajiya, undhiyu, mohanthal, aam - ras, chaash are spot on ( I wish they would add fried papad/fryums as well)!! They have a fixed menu for every weekend and the sabzi's/curry's would vary every weekend, however I've loved all of them. It is a vegetarian's paradise. You can opt for the unlimited/fixed thali options. The main course is unlimited servings, however, the dessert which has 4 options is a single serving. Also, you would have to order the aam ras (creamy mango puree. P.S - it's not mango lassi/mango milkshake) separately from the Thali. The service is spot on - the servers will ensure your plate is always full and you're well fed! You will definitely need a nice afternoon nap after savouring the food here :P. It gets busy during the weekend - there's a good 45 minute wait at times. They don't take reservations though, it's first come, first serve. read more
