I go to Paris Baguette regularly and overall really enjoy it. The baked goods are always fresh, and as a germaphobe, I love that everyone gets their own tongs instead of everyone sharing the same ones. It is a small detail, but it makes a big difference for me. They also run different deals through the app, which definitely keeps me coming back. The drinks have been consistently good. The matcha, coffee, and other drinks have all been a hit. I appreciate how adventurous they are with flavors. The salted caramel pretzel flavor has been one of my favorites so far, especially in coffee or matcha. The only downside is customer service when an issue comes up. I had a small issue that I was told was fixed and refunded, but it never actually was. Not a huge problem, but it is something they could improve. My favorite location. It's always clean and love the open floor plan. read more

I've passed by Paris Baguette in Chinatown so many times and always said "next time." Well... it finally happened. The second I walk in, the smell hit me. Butter, sugar, baked things everywhere. It's kind of impossible to ignore. What makes it funny is that it's a French bakery right in the middle of Chinatown. It just works though. Staff was super nice. Smiling, patient, didn't feel rushed at all. I ordered a hot chocolate and the Chocolate Supreme Croissant. Hot chocolate was good. Sweet, comforting, did the job. But the croissant... that was a moment. Round, flaky, crispy on the outside and on the Inside Chocolate custard heaven. Then more chocolate on top. And those little crispy pearls. It's a lot, in the best way. Every bite was crunchy, soft, rich, and messy in a good way. Straight-up chocolate overload. I can't believe this place has been here all this time and I barely noticed. This spot in Chinatown is always a place we drop by. They have a really good variety of pastries and we honestly haven't been disappointed by anything we've tried. The setup can be confusing if you've never been to this kinda place before, but you just grab a tray and tongs at the front and pick what you want from the cases. When you're done, they've got you covered at the register. They also have a grab-and-go case plus full cakes and more elaborate slices if you're in a rush or want something a step up from the cases. The staff is super nice and always asks if you want anything heated up or if you prefer it packed to go, which I appreciate. There's a fair amount of seating, but it definitely fills up fast. My personal favorite is the crab croquettes. They're savory with a subtle sweetness that's really nicely balanced and not something you see everywhere. Worth stopping in. read more

Which is a soft donut filled with soft custard cream, rolled in powdered sugar!! OMG it was amazinggggggg!!! The donut itself melted in your mouth! After dim sum, we opted for something sweet to take home and stumbled upon Paris Baguette. The selection here is better than the one located in Hmart. We got a mix of sweet and savory. The gist: Its so good, we're going back! The details: We came to Paris Baguette while visiting Chicago to get a cake to celebrate my sister and brother-in-law's wedding anniversary. There were so many options that looked appealing. In addition to cakes, there were pastries, lattes, milk tea, etc. We went with the red velvet cake. It was delicious! Super moist, very fresh and they packaged it well. They let us pick it up right then and gave the option to have a message written plate. They also gave us a cake cutter and candles. For our individual desserts, we settled for cookies as our initial preferences were sold out. Note: Go early. We initially went in Paris Baguette around 2pm but decided to explore Chinatown first so that we would not have to carry the cake around. By the time we got back, around 4pm, most of the pastries we'd seen earlier were sold out and had been replaced with cookies. We were a little disappointed, but those cookies were absolutely delicious! That said, we decided that it's definitely worth a trip tomorrow to try some of the more unique items like the Biscoff cruffin, blueberry yogurt cake, and strawberry & Nutella pizzetta. Good service. Charming French pastry shop located in the middle of Chinatown, a bit crazy. But what a variety of treats, including traditional French pastries and not so traditional items, like mochi donuts. Some of the tables could have used a wiping down, but we did see someone going around wiping them down when we left. If you love croissants and croissant pastry type treats, this is the place to go. They also have breads and other lovely baked goods, but those croissants, cruffins, and the like were the prettiest things that looked absolutely delicious. Hubby bought a loaf of sourdough and loved it. It was the traditional sour sourdough, of which I am not a fan, but he loved it. Bought a soft strawberry cake, which was good, but not really special. Should have sprung for the croissant type stuff I've mentioned, but it was quite pricy and we have some great croissant bakers in northern Michigan, so I wasn't feeling the need to have it. Well unfortunately I was going to head up north to argyle and Broadway and I was hoping that old Chinatown by cermak and Wentworth would have had Vietnamese rice cake on any of the bakeries. Unfortunately they did not and I was really craving for that. So I chose this one because it was the only bakery that had a sit down. The other bakeries I'd probably have to head back to the car and eat it which I did not want to on the semi cold day. Anyways, the pastries were just meh ok. What the castella de meil cake was similar to eating a Filipino sponge cake called mamon that I could get from Red ribbon for cheaper and then spending almost $4.49. I also ordered some croissant and two fruit pastries one was with blueberry and the other one was a strawberry lemon croissant. It was just okay there is nothing I would do cartwheels for but it wasn't bad either. Service was pretty quick. Ambience was quite noisy with a lot of the younger crowd in their 20s or 30s if you may say a millennial or a gen z. Otherwise my disappointment is that not just this bakery. But all the other bakeries did not have Vietnamese rice cake I guess cuz it's Chinatown they used to have it. We always visit Paris Baguette when we are in Chinatown. On our first visit, we tried a Coffee Croissant Donut; holy cow, yum... that darn donut is what gets us back in the door. We have tried many sweet items; our faves are the almond croissant, the Feuillete au Chocolat and the Coffee Croissant Donut. We also have tried many savory items and enjoyed them all. The coffee drinks aren't bad either. The shop is clean and when we have been there, it's been crowded but seating is always available. Service usually with a smile. We decided to stop here for a sweet treat and I'm glad we did. I've never been in a pastry shoppé, nor somewhere that you grab a tray and go grab everything that you want yourself. This was a cool experience just to do and also it being in Chinatown was cool as well. First time I've eaten macaroons and they were awesome! One being red velvet and the other strawberry shortcake, as well as a stuffed chocolate crème donut, which had far too much filling. Also got the little strawberry donut and the ball is like a churro, but said red bean filling? Not sure what that was about but it didn't really taste like anything. The cinnamon on the outside was good though, again just like a churro. I literally ADORE this spot! It's so cute and everything looks so yummy and I crave everything in there lol I want to try all the cake slices if possible. Their blueberry chiffon cake.. WOW! I have always enjoyed going to Paris Baguette. Went to the one opened in Chinatown and quality is still exceptional and did not disappoint. Selections offered are great although prices are a bit more expensive than other bakeries but you get what you pay for. The space is quite large, clean and plenty of sitting area and just bright and airy with lots of natural light. As with everything in Chinatown, there is no free parking bur ample paid street parking. Then why the 3 stars? Service, or lack thereof. The place was fairly empty when I went there on a weekday mid morning. I lined up to pay and the cashier that attended me could not have been more disinterested! No greetings, took a few times to open up the paper bag as she had very long nails which made it difficult for her to grasp the paper, essentially dumped the items I bought (remember the very long nails) and just rang me up. I kid you not - there were no words uttered from her. This really soured my experience with this particular store and sadly, makes me hesitant going back. Hope management would do better training their staff. A simple hello and a smile would have made a world of difference to a customer. 5 for food, 5 for ambiance and 0 for service. read more

I am glad that Paris Baguette is open in Chinatown, now I can enjoy my favorite Almond Croissant and Americano close to home. The interior is nicely decorated with many tables along the other side of the room. There is free wifi and a few plugs along the wall. Was being a tourist and had to go to the restroom. Apparently this is the only place in Chinatown that allows people to use the restroom. Decided to buy something since they were the only ones allowing tourists to use the restroom. Lucky me I was able to find a dairy free item! I was shocked as most Korean bakeries don't have anything dairy free. I bought the honey bread that is individually prepackaged. The bread was so good! So fluffy and tasty that I thought it had dairy. It didn't bc I didn't get sick at all. Had I known it was going to be that good I would have bought more to go. Place is nice and clean.
