Been hearing a lot of things about Short Pump's newest bakery and had to check it out! I love the style of serving yourself and that everything was labeled. We had family with us and they mentioned how helpful the labels were listing all the ingredients because of allergies. We also ordered coffee and they were so quick with the coffee orders. I ordered the Korean Milk Coffee which was amazing. The decor of Paris Baguette is so cute and I love the style of flooring and chairs. I will say we went on a Saturday morning and it was a lot of people and the line got pretty long so just be prepared for that, other that that, pretty nice spot! read more

Paris Baguette is pretty decent and as solid as any chain eatery. The ambiance is corporate cute, and the service is friendly. When you enter, you're welcomed by printed directions and trays used to self serve. Several shelves offer pretty looking treats. Once you've filled your tray to your heart's desire you check out at the counter. My favorite was the souffle cheesecake. It was light, airy and the sweetness that wasn't over powering, and the fresh strawberries really drove it home. The New York cheesecake was also light and tasty. The matcha cruffin was earthy with a gooey center that didn'twin me over. The Coffee Bun was wonderful, soft, airy, and balanced. The Smores Belgian waffle was solid. The fruit pastry had a welcomed tang in conjunction with fresh fruit and soft pastry, but not really for me because it had an Imbalance of custard for my taste. Overall, Paris Baguette is decent. Not a place I'm chomping at the bit to visit again, but it would be solid after a day of shopping or a good after meal spot with friends or someone special. This PB is on the smaller side compared to many larger locations in NoVA. Their selection reflects the store size. One of my savory go-tos is the prosciutto and fig sandwich (good toasted), which I unfortunately did not see, along with some other pastries I'm used to seeing. In my experience, PB normally has mediocre drinks, bordering on bad. We ordered the iced mocha latte w/ whole milk and it tasted as expected; a bit like a watery chocolate milk with a bitter aftertaste from the coffee. From what I remember, the one exception is their matcha blueberry iced latte is pretty good. Their smores supreme croissant is yummy. The croissant seemed fresh, and the chocolate and marshmallow fluff ratio and flavors worked. The service was friendly but a bit slow. There are a good number of workers there but they seem to be doing multiple things at once, the cashiers took breaks from the register to pack pastries or make drinks before taking more orders. It took a couple minutes to take my order despite not having a line when I arrived. The location is clean, bright, and seems quite popular with a lot of traffic around late morning/noon on a weekday. There is a decent amount of indoor seating and outlets that make for a solid wfh spot. read more

After I'm done being pregnant I can't wait to try the amazing looking coffee. It's definitely a busy place but the service is fast. If you're looking for a quiet bakery this is not the place. I was excited to try Paris Baguette as I've heard good things about it. There are several pastry cases when you walk in. You grab a tray and tongs to choose your items which is pretty standard. They also have a cold case with prepared sandwiches, salads, and bottled drinks. I saw the salad on their site, but didn't realize it was something that was already packaged and not made to order. I got a chicken curry bun and a cheese tart. Neither had much flavor. I'm honestly super disappointed. I bit into the curry bun thinking it would be as flavorful and full of protein as brecoteas. That was not the case at all. First bite and got a whole lot of air. The cheese tart has zero flavor too. I'd call this visit a bust to be honest. The store was clean and there was someone restocking pastries while I browsed. Everything was fresh. The tables were all full. I'm glad business is going well. She said they're hoping to have online ordering soon. It's in a shopping center so there's plenty of parking. read more

If you've visited the bakery at Lotte you will understand this setup. My husband and I were up early. I was going to go to exercise but wasn't feeling it this morning so we decided to try the new Paris Baguette near our house. They open at 6 and we arrived around 6:30. Most of the cases were still empty but they had some stuff out. They also had trays loaded on a cart so I think they were still working on set up. So you grab a tray, put a wax paper liner on it, grab some tongs and pick what you want. I picked a sausage in a croissant, my husband got an apple pastry and we bought two Nutella pastries for our daughters. For drinks I got a coffee, which was delicious, and my husband got a latte. I downloaded the app so I got a free pastry with purchase. I had her heat the sausage croissant and it was delicious but I only ate half and made my husband eat the rest. He says that's why he doesn't always order food because I never finish what I order. ; ) This is a chain. I don't mind that as long as the food is good. It's a franchise too so that means someone owns it and not a conglomerate (at least that's how I want to think of it). It was a little pricey but to me it's not a place to visit daily or weekly. I decided to stop by this morning to try some of their pastries as I'm a big fan of croissants and other French baked goods. It was packed when I arrived and a bit confusing as after standing in line for a while, we learned that each person had to get out of line, get a tray, pick out their items, then get back in line to pay. The line was so long that we couldn't get to all offerings without losing our place in line. I opted for a pain au chocolat, a pain aux raisins and a raspberry almond croissant. I noticed after I got back in line that they had sandwiches and salads, but I didn't want to lose my place in line to check them out. I also would have loved to have gotten a drink and sat down to eat, but there were no seats available. Here are my thoughts on the items I purchased: Pain aux raisins was doughy instead of being flaky and lacked flavor. Pain au chocolat had hardly any chocolate in it and was very bready instead of being flaky. The raspberry almond croissant was the best of the three, but again, was bready and not flaky. None of the three tasted like they were freshly made. Instead, they tasted like they had been made prior and then refrigerated. I know they just opened and have some things to work out, but it's obvious that this is a chain with baked goods that are made in advance. read more

I enjoy Paris Baguette but my experience overall tells me this location lacks the attention to detail. The place, it's small and the layout is terrible for when there is a crowd. Why would you put the cashier and drink pickup at the far end where the bake goods come out of. I basically stood in what I thought was a line, then got to the cashier and ordered my drink and then walked around a table of pastries to the other side to wait for my drinks with other people standing around carts of with trays full with pastries, barely covered. And what else was bad was that both drinks I ordered, a lemonade and a coffee had residue of whip cream around the cups. However I did ordered a cake that was behind the counter and it met expectations of what I've experienced at other locations. I hope they will still be around in a month or so and the crowd dies down so that I can try to have a descent experience. read more

a tragedy has occurred... I came here with my family and it was wonderful. It was like i was truly in France! The ambiance made me feel like I was in ratatouille and I am not even a rat! Or a cook! The pastries were delectable and I could've eaten it all if I had the willpower! I adored the chocolate Nutella croissant and the fruits! Oh~ yum yum yum! The fruits! They were delicious! I love love love fruits! The strawberries were heavenly! When I die and go to heaven, I hope they have the fruits from the Paris Baguette!! (Especially the strawberries!!) but, I was in line with my family and I asked, "can I get a mango smoothie?" And you would NEVER expect the response I got. SHE SAID NO. SHE SAID NOT THIS TIME. Outraged, I say "but what if there isn't a next time?!" And she didn't even respond to me!!! A million questions were going through my head like, "why not?" or "but i deserve this?" and "how on God's wonderful green earth could you possible say no to ME?!?!" Goodness me I was defeated. Hubby abd I were very excited about trying this new bakery as it is all over my Facebook feed with high marks. We arrived around 130 pm so this may effect the quality as I am unsure if they are cooking all day. They were busy and offering were scarce. We bought 5 items to try. Sadly, all were submitted par. Croissant soft but had layers. Blueberry cream cheese pasty soft slightly sweet but had no flavor. Butter cream bread bland. Baguette was adequate but if kroger quality. Then the mystery item.. forgot what it said it was but when we tasted it was not what was listed um guessing. It had the best of the bunch on the outside. Crispy sweet with some very strange interior sweet with what tasted like seaweed in it. All in all will stick with sub rosa when we feel like the drive. read more

We ordered 5 things for breakfast because it was open early. Donuts, croissants, and cronuts. They were 100x better than dunkin, which my kids insist on. I expected better than dunkin or Panera and got what I expected; my kids said 5 star and want to come back tomorrow. We'll be back. read more

AMAZING!! it is so nice to finally have an incredible bakery in short pump! Paris baguette is iconic to both adults and kids. The Nutella raspberry stuffed croissant is to die for. The Caprese sandwich and Korean barbecue grilled cheese was outstanding! The best part of this Paris baguette is the staff. It is a small location so they have to work incredibly hard to keep the shelves full for the huge demand they are having. People need to have patience and remember that kindness goes a long way. You may have to wait a little and your favorite pastry may be out of stock, but isn't that a good thing?? It means the business is doing well and it will be around for a long time! All new businesses that supply amazing products will have a hard time initially keeping up with demand. I have been there three times and will continue to go and will continue to tell everyone I know that they need to head over to the Paris baguette in short pump!
