Paris Baguette has become the go-to-place for celebratory cakes for our family. Thus to celebrate my nephew's graduation and my mom's birthday, we got cakes from this Paris Baguette in Chinatown Houston. The cake is usually chiffon and uses real whipped cream, vs the thick and heavy buttercream sugar frosting that many other chain bakers use. Both cakes were delicious and a hit. Paris Baguette has a decent website, where one can preorder (and prepay) cakes. I ended up getting a simple mini strawberry cream cake $39.95, and a reg size rainbow cake ($45.95). I needed it to be ready by 9 am on a Sunday. It seems as if the cake is written with the custom message once the customer comes in, can be redone (in fact, they will ask you if you are satisfied with the writing once complete). They were out of the mini strawberry cream cake, but let me upgrade to the bigger size (since I had already paid). The decorating is pretty minimal, with writing done on the packaging. It always comes with a throwaway cake cutter/server and long thin matches. My son-in-law came in with me, and bought some donuts/mochi for us to eat for breakfast. I got to try a bit of the Dubai chocolate mochi donut, and its absolutely a winner. Cakes in Texas are considered to be groceries, and thus are not taxed even when purchased from a franchise baker like Paris Baguette. My purchase on their website reflected this, which did make the high price (a little) more palatable. What made it more so, was how much the guests loved it. Ordered a Red Velvet cake with a chocolate plaque online for a pickup at 1:45pm. When I went to pick it up around 2:15, the cake was still not ready and the staff had to pack the cake and put the chocolate plaque on the cake still. What could've been an in-and-out pick up turned into 10+ min of waiting for the order to be finished. Additionally, the ratio between cake and frosting was very off. Instead of getting more cake, we got more frosting instead (3:7 ratio). If 2 of the icing layers were replaced by cake, it would've been great. The chocolate plaque was also just a message written in gold market on a piece of dark chocolate. Unfortunately, all-in-all, I am disappointed by the cake we received. read more

The fusion of French classics with Korean traditions makes the most beautiful and delicious fusion pastries. Egg tarts. Milk bread. Sweet potato bread. Tiramisu tarts. Salted caramel pretzel croissant crisps. Salted butter twist rolls. Pick up a tray. Line it with Paris Baguette wax paper. Grab a pair of tongs. Then add some sweet treats. My last trip yielded an almond pain au chocolat and a strawberry peanut crumb bread. Delicious. Grab a chai latte. Ask them to add extra milk so that it won't be so sweet. Such a cute cafe. We came in to redeem the BOGO Cake Slice reward and tried the Fig Jam Layer Cake and the Mango Coconut Cake. The flavors were good, but the quality control definitely needs attention. In the fig cake, they used whole figs because I ended up biting into not one, but two rock-hard fig stems. It hurt my teeth, and it was really disappointing. I wish they had removed the stems before mashing the figs into the jam. For the mango coconut cake, there was a single massive piece of mango, about the size of three or four quarters stacked in the cake. It was impossible to cut through with a fork, and the piece was unripen and tough. It really threw off the texture and balance of the slice. If it weren't for the BOGO deal, these slices are around $7 each, so I'd expect much better quality control. On the positive side, the staff were friendly. When you walk in, you ring the bell, let them know what you want, and they assign you a number. Someone takes your order, and at the register you just give them the number, which does make the checkout process quicker. read more

Let me preface this review by saying that we did come to try out their bakery goods in the evening. So, I was going to give them a by if the texture of the baked goods was not at its peak. But, the issue I had was really these baked goods lacked flavor. We tried their fluffy cheesecake and coffee cronut. The fluffy cheesecake tasted only like angel food cake with no cheese flavor. I was chewing the cronut for a while to see if I could taste any coffee flavor - nothing. Their original mini croissants tasted fine, but just nothing different than the butter croissants I get at Costco. I think because of the price point of these baked goods, it's just pricey for what it is. Granted, I haven't tried all their pastries, I'd give them another go next time I'm in the area. I needed to pick up pastries for a brunch I was hosting at home. My family had mentioned Paris Baguette before so I decided this would be a perfect time to try. I got there around 8:30 am Saturday. I was quickly welcomed in. The cafe was very spacious and a separate dining area which looked very clean and tidy. The decor was pretty. There was a huge selection. It took me a while just to walk around and look at everything. The Dubai chocolate items were all gone. There was also a refrigerated section with macarons, cream puffs and cheesecake. I was out one day for lunch and a friend of mine happened to notice Paris over just yonder while we were passing by, and as someone who LOVES their food and content, I said that we must stop before we go back to work and stop is what we did!!! I hadn't been to one of their locations before, I had only gotten to try them through a prior event, so I didn't even know where to start! We walked around and gazed upon all the cases to see what would catch my eye, but everything, and I mean everything did! We walked in circles for about 10 mins before I finally said, we must choose!!! Hah, so you grab a tray and some tongs, and you pick out the items that you'd like. I went with two items, one was a chocolate croissant, it is my favorite and a classic go to. The second was a chocolate something of a pastry, a lot bigger than the croissant I had, and could've been a cross between croissant and donut, I don't know, but looked amazing. I took my food up to the counter, where the cashier greeted me promptly and asked if I found what I was looking for and if I'd like to order a beverage. I told her no on the beverage, but next time will definitely try some of the espresso options, and was sad to not be walking away with more, but I didn't need more!!! I need a reason to come back! We made it back to the office with our treats. My intent was to give one pastry to my son, and eat only half the chocolate croissant, but when I warmed up the croissant, it was so friggin good!! I couldn't stop eating it. The chocolate was just the right amount, and the bread was so soft and delicious and buttery and flaky, and before I knew it, after each bite, it was gone!!! Gone!!! I first tried Paris Baguette at a baby shower when a friend brought a good selection of different pastries for everyone to sample. I was hooked! Everything I tried was delicious. Fast forward a few months, I finally stepped into an actual Paris Baguette and was overwhelmed by the number of delectable pastries and cakes the store had to offer. There were savory pastries, different types of croissants, fruit pastries, donuts...something for everyone. They even had pre-packed sandwiches that you can just pick up and go. I wanted to buy the whole store to try everything! However, one only has limited funds and limited stomach real estate, and we had just finished lunch, so we opt for a few favorites, including the sausage pastry and strawberries croissant pastry. Despite having just ate lunch, we still devoured everything on site. The pastry was buttery and flaky, so so good. The strawberries paired perfectly with the custard that was just the right amount of sweetness. Everyone left satisfied. On a side note, we sat on the couch area with a beautifully decorated ceiling foliage on top. Definitely appreciated the details that Paris Baguette put into their store ambiance and decor that really elevates customer experience. If you are a pastry lover, I highly recommend this place. Out of the 4 locations I've visited so far, the Bellaire one is the BEST in terms of space and selection. Once I got hooked onto Paris baguette, I could never go back to any of the other bakeries like tous les jours and 85 degrees LOL. Paris baguette has good beverages, bread, pastries, cakes. The tiramisu cake is one of my favorites - light and creamy and not overwhelmingly sweet!! As for drinks, I recommend the iced milk coffee and their flavored lattes! Their cronuts will always be my top choice along with their berry/fruit pastries. Service is great, and the employees are extra friendly here! Super spacious inside, and I think they even added more seating in the back with couches. Parking can be iffy since it's Bellaire, but there's usually a spot somewhere haha. read more

I really loved the vibes of this Paris Baguette location. The interior was spacious, clean, and there were many tables and nooks for both those that wanted to sip and yap and those that wanted to get work done. Paris Baguette offers many pastries, breads, deserts, drinks, and more. We got a tray full of goodies and almost everything tasted just as good as it looks. Some of our favorites were the fruit tarts, croissants, and the sticky milk bread. Finally got to try the new Paris Baguette! Walking inside is so airy and open. There's lots of seating and lots of options for pastries and breads. A lot of the sections were empty, so maybe as the store gains popularity, they will be adding more to their selection. I ended up going with the sticky milk buns and the Matcha croissant. Love, love the sticky milk buns! The top has sweetened condensed milk and the bread is soft and sweet. Delicious! The Matcha croissant has matcha cream in the middle and on the top is Matcha powder. The powder is somewhat bitter and the cream has a strong Matcha flavor and is not that sweet. I think I was not expecting the Matcha flavor to be so strong, but it was still good. I also ended up getting a pumpkin spice oat milk latte. This isn't really advertised, but I saw a picture of it on yelp so I decided to order it. Not bad! The cake itself looked beautiful -- they really do a great job with presentation and the winter theme was super charming -- but the flavor didn't match the price. The cream tasted very simple, almost like straight milk, and while the roll was soft and decent, it definitely felt overpriced for what it was. I also tried the almond and coconut croissants, and both were a letdown. They tasted a bit stale, and the fillings again had that plain milk flavor instead of something rich or nutty. I have been waiting for Paris Baguette on Bellaire Blvd to open for months ever since I heard about DiHo Square was going to add a new bakery with seating (move over Three Uncle's Handmade Toast, Nikko's Cheesecakes and The Artesian 360). This being my first time there. It reminds me of 85°C Bakery & Café, but better. Maybe it was because not as many people and everyone seemed to be friendlier than other bakeries in Chinatown. I always welcome new businesses to my neighborhood. But I was sticker shocked by everything they sell. I can't afford to eat here often. Another thing, they are selling more fried donuts than baked breads. I ordered a vegan muffin and it was too moist and started choking me. I have been to this specific location on many occasions at different times and days since it first opened, too many times as some may say. Anywho, this is my favorite location of all their locations in Houston and Houston-metro area. I haven't been to the one in Spring Branch yet. Between Katy and Chinatown location, I prefer this location due to it's cleanliness of both inside and outside seating area. Plus, it's spacious inside - definitely give you the Paris-feel. It's been too hot to sit outside but it's cute with all the lights, especially at night and just people/car watch. A girl's vibe? A romantic vibe? Whatever you want to call it. Coffee was just okay, it's better than the one on Westheimer. Most bake goods are pushing $5 and premade-to-go sandwiches are around $10, so it's quite expensive compare to many other bakeries. Something to note, some of the cashiers are new so they may overcharge you if you're not careful. It happened to me, especially early in the morning on weekends and when you get a lot. Most of the time, the cashier doesn't know what the pastry is and just guess. You basically just grab a tray on your left, add paper on top, grab a tong and grab whatever bake goods you want! Display is really pretty throughout the day and you get more options around 10 AM - 1 PM. They do sell "old-day bread." I have been here as soon as they opened and you're risking buying old pastries. I saw people bring out trays of desserts here so it seems like they bake them in-house however some of the pastries tasted stale and old. The fruit tarts, egg tarts, and the creme brûlée donut were good - not out of this world or life changing but good enough. The lemon donut was far too sweet and their savories (pizza and quiche) were cold and soggy. They definitely need a way of warming the savories up. Coming back from a trip to Asia just months ago, I was so happy to see a Paris Baguette finally open locally! The pastries were just as fresh and tasty as I remembered! There were even a few items I did not expect and was pleasantly surprised by! The overall space was also clean and welcoming. For a popular brand that is newly opened, I was glad to find open seating during peak hours. The service was also quick that made waiting in checkout line unnoticeable. My only complaints would be two minor inconveniences that likely can be fixed quickly: 1. The straws available are way too short for large cup drinks. My straw kept falling in, and when I asked the staff if there is longer straw, they admitted that it was the only size they had. Please add longer and wider straw options to cater to the drinks options. 2. I was seated in the store for quite a while when I was trying out different pastries, and during that time, I saw the staff go by surrounding tables to pass out samples and they unfortunately ran out when they got to my table, the only table remaining. I thought that they might go back to get one more and return, but disappointingly, they never did. It didn't feel very nice to be excluded, and the staff just avoided eye contact when walking past me instead of being in any way apologetic. Please calculate accordingly when passing out samples to surrounding tables in the future so no one has to experience the exclusion I felt ever again. Really tasty! both egg cluster tart was so good! One had a croissant crust and the other had a tart crust. Both excellent but I leaned towards the croissant crust! Probably the best I ever had! I tried croissant filled with cream and fresh strawberries and the cream was good. I recommend eating the pastries same day because the next day it doesn't taste the same. The best thing I tried there was the croissant garlic butter sausage pastry. I got only one ans wish I have gotten more! The sausage was chewy juicy and so good in the pastry! Buttery. Garlicky and so good! Next time I am getting more!! By far my favorite item there along with the red velvet cake. I was not a fan of the coffee croissant donut. Weird texture and filling. Their chocolate pastries, like their nutella crossant is to die for if you like that type of thing and the different options are so fun to try. I also love a good fruit tart or spin on a fruit tart so I had to try those. I got so many pastries that by the time I got to the cakes there was no room for them. Brought my young family here on a Saturday afternoon around tea time. I'd seen this place from the outside but finally had a chance to check it out. The outside was eye-catching, but the inside was beautiful. There is nothing like this in Chinatown. The high ceilings and elegant decor really brings about a feeling of a breezy day at a cafe with a latte and a sweet treat in the streets of Europe. There is a wide variety of desserts, ranging from chocolate to fruit flavored, something for everybody. They have a good selection of both hot and cold drinks. The kids definitely enjoyed their fruit tart (as did their dad). Will definitely be back to seat ourselves in the seating area tucked away on the side and maybe come without the kids. It's located in a pretty busy shopping center so parking can be a bit annoying but worth it. As for the pastries...it was hard not to get everything and try everything. However, they were already up and running with piping hot bakery goods ready to go! One lady staff was so nice to me. I thank her for making me so welcomed to the store.
