We've been wondering when they would finally open and today was the day lol! I arrived mid morning and the line was out the door - totally packed so I guess we weren't the only ones waiting to try Old Town's newest bakery. The store is very new and clean with sleek French vibes. Staff were all very friendly and welcoming and you can tell they've been training hard bc they were handling the rush VERY well. This was my first time at a Paris Baguette and I was surprised at how much variety was available. They have a large case full of sweet pastries in the middle of the shop, a second pastry case with a mix of sweet and savory pastries, and a third refrigerator case containing prepackaged lunch items like salads and sandwiches. They also have a drinks menu with a wide variety of coffees and other drinks. My vanilla latte was excellent and not overly sweet. We also enjoyed our savory Hash Brown Bread pastry - it's a soft roll with ham, cheese and hashbrowns inside and is savory and yummy. The sweet pastries we've tried haven't been our fave. Everything looks beautiful and is presented excellently but the flavors and textures weren't great. We bought the raspberry pastry bites, a strawberry croissant, raspberry almond croissant, and a king cream donut. For the raspberry pastry bites - the raspberries weren't fresh and had a very strong, unusual aftertaste and the flaky pastry was hard as a rock. The king cream donut was just ok - a little bland and extremely sweet. The strawberry cream croissant had nice strawberries in it and the croissant had nice light texture but the cream was bland with an odd aftertaste. The raspberry almond croissant was the best of the sweet ones but had way too much raspberry jam in proportion to the croissant- still had nice flavor and texture - although it's extremely sweet. Their prices are another issue - their pastries and food items are quite expensive in comparison to the other area bakeries. But their drinks are priced competitively. Paris Baguette is a large worldwide chain and is rapidly expanding across the US. I'm glad Monrovia is getting more options but I hope it won't affect our smaller family owned bakeries in the area that we love. Parking is all street parking or in public lots around Old Town. The anticipated wait....the bakery is now open at the Monrovia location. You can find parking on the street or nearby lots. It's a beautiful spacious spot. When you enter there are cases and casea of breads and cakes and pastries. It's quite a selection. All very pretty. There is also a menu of drinks I didnt get to try. The breads and cronut were good. I didn't care much for the curry croquette tho. They have indoor seating on one side of the bakery. Nice spot to just hang out. Restroom was clean. read more

What a beautiful coincidence that my family happened to be going by the Monrovia Library today to return and check out some books when the librarians told us about an event happening at the new Paris Baguette across the street! We made it just in time to experience the end of their soft opening, and got to see the brand new store, everything is clean, well laid out, and a great location off of Myrtle with plenty of parking in front and back. We were greeted by the owner, Oksana, who was SO sweet and offered each customer the opportunity to try a couple of the pastries and a regular drink. The fall flavors at Paris Baguette are in BTW! I got the lemon croissant donut, it was light and flaky, with a peach tea. My husband had the ham and cheese croissant which he loved with a chai latte. And our daughter got the lavender matcha latte with a curry croquette. Everything was still fresh and the service was quick and friendly despite how busy and hectic it was. I was both excited a nervous to see a large, popular bakery chain open on Myrtle Ave. This building has been vacant for too long and this bakery cafe is a wonderful addition to Old Town Monrovia. I loved how the murals on the walls reflected local landmarks. The pastries are, of course, delicious and they offer a nice selection of lunch items like sandwiches and salads. I enjoyed my chicken sandwiches and savory curry pastries for a late lunch today. Service was a little slow at the register, but I think this will improve with time as everyone gets used to the flow of the store. Some customers are unfamiliar with the self serve flow and it was unclear how to queue as some people would try to walk right up to the register to order beverages while others would walk around the pastry area. Excited for this place to be open finally! It has plenty of seating and a few outlets so perfect for studying. They also have guest wifi and a bathroom! Staff is generally pretty friendly and the place is kept clean. Some feedback - The calories on the menu is different than the ones on the app. Their cold brew drinks are awful. I've gotten it twice (the Nutella and Butter Pecan) and both times, they taste incredibly artificial. It's also pricier than their other coffee drinks. I would opt for the latte next time. Also there is a typo on the signs of Ms. Bear and Mr. Bear. Calorie amount is swapped. read more

It's been a long while since I've tried anything from Paris Baguette. The last time was when the location at the Santa Anita mall was still open. The hazelnut latte was pretty good. I didn't try any of the pastries so can't speak to how they were. I was a little surprised that the order menu was mostly beverages, as I distinctly remember there used to be made to order fresh sandwiches. The ambiance was ok, though the space is a bit small. I saw some other Yelpers commenting on the less than welcoming service. Nothing was glaringly off, but didn't give off a warm vibe or even a smile when I was greeted. Maybe it was an off day. There was an "all sales are final, no refunds or returns" sign as well as a "right to refuse service." I completely understand that from the POV of protecting the business and its workers. But then I would expect a higher standard of customer service and food & drink quality to adhere to if there's going to be that kind of signage at the checkout counter. Might come back for an occasional latte, but this place wouldn't be my first choice when I'm in the mood for a croissant & coffee. read more

So excited to finally see Paris Baguette open up in the heart of Monrovia!! It's been years watching this place get built. Paris Baguette is a higher end bakery and coffee shop. They also have amazing cakes, but just know it's a little costlier than your typical Asian bakery. I always enjoyed their pastries and was bummed when it closed in Arcadia years ago. Their pastries are always fresh and they also have fresh coffee via Lavazza, tea or smoothies. The smoothies was honestly way too sweet for me- so might personally skip and go to a local smoothies shop for that instead. But tea and coffee are no go great options here. They have two cashiers so depending if the line is long, you might wait a little bit, but nothing too crazy especially since the drinks are made to order. I love how each locations try to capture the uniqueness of the city it's in. So at this location, it has a mural highlighting some of the landmarks of Monrovia. They definitely try to present a laidback, clean, Parisian design. You can definitely spend your morning or afternoon here and relax. Come by and check it out! Customer service has really been disappointing us. My husband and I have been here so many times. We like the product, but the employees are killing the morale. Stopped by in the morning and purchased a croissant breakfast sandwich. We asked the employee if she could warm it up (the wrapper says it's great warmed up and to request that). Employee said the oven will be a few minutes I said not a problem then she said it's not working. I clarified 'is it going to be a few minutes or not working?' She said not working. So we ate the sandwich cold. As soon as our drinks were ready, my husband saw them using the oven and asked if it was miraculously working and they said yes. Mind you this is like 60 seconds after the employee told me it was broken as my husband picked up my iced yea from the front counter. My husband also asked for a cup holder because we purchased several drinks and the employee didn't say anything to him, just grabbed a stack of cup holders and threw it on the counter so he could grab one. Keep the attitude at home. Honestly there's a great employee, Cesar, who helps us often. But some of the other employees need to understand that customer service is a part of the job. read more
