Had the opportunity to try out Paris Baguette after a great gym session with a few friends . I was pleasantly surprised that it was serve your self. Which did not help with my indecisiveness. I wanted to try everything! The selections of pastries and breads looked heavenly and fresh. I selected a chocolate croissant, a hash brown bread( which would have been amazing if it was toasted and warm). Apparently one of the workers said that they were working on getting a toaster for some of the items. I think it would be a nice touch. Stopped in, as we were looking for someplace else. It was a great decision. Everyone was friendly and the 10 tables were mostly full. We chose a ham & cheese panini and a caprese. The staff heated them on a press, and my companion got a coffee that she said was very good. The sandwiches were great. The cream puffs were great. The atmosphere was great. The slices are left out on the counter for hours, unrefrigerated and uncovered, which allows bacteria to grow. Glad to finally try this location after its long awaited grand opening. There's always a line when we stop by but it doesn't take too long. We came here for coffee today but once we got to the cashier at the front of the line, she informed us they ran out of cups :( I guess they're still trying to figure out how busy it'd be. I tried the hot dog croissant and it hit the spot. The interior is bigger than I expected and has a lot of seating. Came in around 7AM today for a birthday cake and had a terrible experience with two female associates who worked at the time of my visit. Here is my experience with PB, Monrovia on Tuesday, 02/04/2025 that I would like to share. 1. They were keep chitchatting to each other without any greetings or acknowledging. 2. They even did not know what it was, when I said blueberry chiffon cake so that I had to tell them where it had been placed in the cake showcase. 3. They do not know that PB provides a guest who purchases a birthday cake with complimentary candles and a plastic cake knife: Most PB associates normally ask their guests first, such as this, "Do you need candles for the cake?" rather than saying, "We do not provide candles." 4. One of the two did not know how to charge my credit card through TOAST(POS). She did wrong way for several times. Therefore, I had to demonstrate how to swipe the card correctly. I know. Can you believe it? 5. In addition to their poor performance of guest services as well as ignorance of the product knowledge, they were literally insolent. Conclusion: Unfortunately, I will not return to this location. NEVER. read more

We've been waiting about four years for this place to open. We went really early about 7:15. It was so cute inside. I loved that they designed the cake decorating area in the front window. My girlfriend picked up a few items from the self-serve bakery area and ordered a slice of rainbow cake as well. Right away you could tell that the cashier helping us was clueless. My girlfriend pushed the wrong button for the receipt, so she asked the girl to print it out for her. She didn't know how to do that and had to ask the manager/shift lead. She put all of my girlfriend's breads into a small paper bag and handed it to her, signaling the transaction was finished. My girlfriend asked, "Is my rainbow cake in there?" Keep in mind, there was no point in time that she left the register or told anyone to grab the cake. She said, "Yes." My girlfriend looked at her and asked again because there was no way a cake was going to fit in that small with the three bread items she purchased, "My cake is in here?" Barely even paying attention to the question, she responded, "Yes, everything is in all there." So my girlfriend walked away with her toddler to find a table for us. In the middle of me ordering, my girlfriend comes back on over and said, "There's no cake in the bag," showing her the receipt. This girl is absolutely lost, like she cannot even remember ringing up the cake. Her response was something like, "Huh? Cake?" Then looked at the receipt and said she would get it after finish taking my order. So I ordered a simple vanilla latte with oat milk and asked for whip because I saw it overhead on the menu. She told me, "We don't have whipped cream." I gave her a look and said, "No whipped cream?" The same manager was still there next to her ringing someone else up, so she asked her, "We don't have whipped cream, right?" It almost looked like the woman didn't want to give too much of reaction to her question, said in a low, clipped tone, "We have whipped cream." "Oh," was all she said. She asks for my name, which I literally SPELL OUT for her. I then waited for her to grab my friend's cake, which came in the standard individual cake box-- in other words, no way it would've been in that bag. As she hands me the cake, she tells me that they would "call my name" when my coffee was ready so I didn't have to stand there. So I'm at the table with my friend and her daughter and I'm just waiting for the longest time for this one little latte when I told my friend, "I feel like my coffee is ready and they didn't bother calling me for it." I turn around to look at the counter and there is a small drink sitting there. So I walk up and see the receipt and the order is my exact drink but it's not my name. The receipt reads, "Hailey." The same cashier saw me looking at it because the counter space is right next to her register and she came over to see what I was doing. So I told her that was my order but not my name, so I didn't want to just take it. AGAIN, the utter confusion on that girl's face. I could not understand how I spelled out "K-E-R-A" for you and you typed out "HAILEY." The store was barely busy during that time but she was so slow doing everything that a line started to build up quickly behind my friend and me that they had to open up another register. So I just don't get why this girl was screwing up left and right. It's not like she was being rushed. The coffee was good. My friend gave me one of her ham and cheese croissants. I didn't eat it until a couple hours later because I really didn't want to since I hate cold croissants but it was absolutely fantastic. I can't imagine how good it would've been if I heated it up. They carry one of my favorite cakes, which is the Blueberry Chiffon, so I'll be coming back for that some time soon. This is not my first time at a Paris Baguette. I used to be a regular at the former Westfield Santa Anita one. Our first time experience with this particular location was soured because of our interaction with this specific employee but we will be back again. I recently visited this area and saw the opening of this café. A violinist was playing near the entrance, which was a breathtaking sight. I was already impressed. When I went inside, I saw freshly renovated, stylish interiors, leaving a very pleasant impression. I spent a while exploring their selection of baked goods and cakes. Everything looked incredibly appetizing, so I decided to try something in the café and also ordered quite a bit to take home. All the pastries were very fresh and delicious. First customer in the door this morning. Not all items are available when they first open up. Otherwise there is a fabulous selection of sweets, breads, and packaged sweet items. Pleasant staff that can answer questions (more staff than customers). Employees had either blue logo tee shirts on or white bakers shirt. The young lady who's probably the manager was very efficient and kind. There are several tables to sit at, unfortunately two are taken up with management's items (laptop, paperwork). My treats and coffee were excellent, were overpriced but definitely better than Starbucks. I will be recommending this restaurant to friends and neighbors! Paris Baguette is my go-to whenever I'm craving something sweet (or honestly, just anything good). The pastries here are next level--flaky, fresh, and super addictive. I keep telling myself I'll just grab one thing and somehow walk out with a full box every time. The strawberry shortcake is insane--light, fluffy, not too sweet, just perfect. Their croissants are buttery and crisp, and the ham and cheese croissant? Chef's kiss. I've even grabbed their little sandwiches and salads on the go and they always hit the spot. Also, the place is always clean and the vibes are chill. Staff is nice and super quick, even when it's busy. Honestly, if I lived any closer I'd probably be here every day. I stopped in to pick up some pastries for my friend I was going to go visit on Saturday. He said the pastries were great (which they were). My only issue is the one that seems to be the constant on here....which is the staff. The girl that waited on me was very slow. She was the only one on register and the line was getting long. She was packaging my pastries, dropped one (it was a fruit tart so fruit went all over the box). She insisted I go get another one...I turned around and there was at least 6 people waiting. I said it was fine and I would take it the way it was.....I said it at least 3 times it was fine and others were waiting. She also forgot the cake slice I ordered and I had to grab another girl to get it for me. Bottom line is the girl needs training. She seemed nervous, overwhelmed, and slow on the register. I was a little hesitant to leave a review, but after seeing all the other reviews regarding the service at this location, I see I'm not the only one. I was visiting my mom in the area and on my way wanted to stop by a get an iced vanilla latte. I get this drink all the time at the Diamond Bar location, so I knew what to get and I don't add anything extra and keep it simple. I got parking in the front and there were a few people inside, but no one in line or waiting on orders, so it wasn't busy. I went to place my order and the woman helping me was kind of off. I placed my order, paid and then she told me "ohh it's going to be a while I'm cleaning the machine." I asked how long and she said a few minutes and I was ok with that. Just found it odd she told me this AFTER I had already paid. During that time I walked around the inside, which is very clean. I noticed this location is a bit smaller and had a bit fewer options than the other locations I've been to. When my drink was finally ready I grabbed it and asked for a straw and was told to go to the other counter, just felt really brushed off. My drink was all milk on the bottom and espresso on top and not mixed. It didn't look like the drink I normally get so not sure if she made it wrong or just didn't like me, but I was pretty disappointed with how it tasted. I felt coming here the service wasn't that great and with the cashiers personality I didn't want to bother to ask for my drink to be remade, I was over it. I really love Paris Baguette and am so happy Monrovia now has one. I was really looking forward to coming here and just felt everything fell short. I did not like my experience and sad I wasted my weekly latte deal for a bad tasting drink that I ended up throwing away after only a few sips. I've e tried this place a few times since I work a few blocks away, and they never fail to disappoint. Today was the last time. I grabbed a caprese sandwich (which was mostly just bread) and did not contain any basil or even spinach. Instead it had spring mix. Gross and flavorless. The peach tea was also flavorless and the pastries are blah. 85 degrees is so much better! Too bad there isn't one in Monrovia. The service is also not good here. Stopped by this location on a Sunday evening around 6:45 pm. I saw a worker catching a fly with his hand from the closed off glass area that contains the baked pastries (it looks like there are other reviews that also mention flies - gross). Another worker Nathan K who was working the register was pretty rude to myself and my friend when we were paying. He needs to work on his customer service skills. Overall, I won't be coming back to this location. Very disappointing store experience. Also the pastries were not crispy or fresh-tasting. They tasted a little soggy and stale, probably because they had been sitting out since the morning. read more
