Is it fair to rate an outlet based on one product--in this case their Portuguese egg tart (pastel de nata)? It's a pretty recent addition and costs $2.49 individually bagged in plastic. I don't expect extreme authenticity from a bakery chain, just something good to eat. What I got was a slightly sour taste like the custard filling starting to spoil, and the pastry was not crispy crispy at all. The second is unfortunate but the first is inexcusable. Is it ok for a supermarket to sell spoiled milk? No, and I would give the supermarket a bad rating based on that spoiled milk, so I am giving this outlet 2 stars based on their Portuguese egg tart. My husband and I dropped by the Forest Hills, Queens Paris Baguette location which is now open after being closed for a few months due to Covid19. We purchased a few loaves of bread and I gave the cashier my 'baked loaf' reward card which was full to redeem one free loaf of bread. We were then told by the cashier they have stopped honoring the reward cards. This does not make sense as customers had no chance to redeem them because they temporarily closed. There is no expiration date on the card and no communication before they closed. We asked if our card can still be honored since it was full and there was no opportunity to redeem it due to the closure. The cashier called the boss to check and she refused. We ended up paying for the 2 loaves of bread and the 'boss' decides to come out and stand behind the cashier to watch the transaction. What a strange and unreasonable way to treat customers for such a large and popular brand! Small things sometimes can make a big difference. This isn't about the money or a free loaf of bread. It is the principle of the matter. This pandemic did not only affect businesses. It affected individuals too and things like reward cards brighten up people's day. This incident made me feel like this brand only cares about the bottom line and profits and does not care about or appreciate their customers. This used to be my family and friends' go to place to purchase bread, cake and pastries since the day they opened. Now we will take our business somewhere else. Paris Baguette, you have lost a bunch of long time customers due to your poor customer relations and service. ----------------------------------------------- So just an update on how the 'follow up' went: I did indeed get a direct message asking for my contact info so a manager can reach out to me which I supplied. To date, no one has reached out to me. As you can see in their response (see attached) they claim they are very sorry for what happened, they appreciate my business and customer service is their 'top priority'. If that is the case, why don't they just fix it and allow me to redeem my reward card? What is so complicated?? What else is there to discuss? I clearly stated what happened and showed my full reward card. I also read some of the other reviews and it seems like Taylor just copies and pastes the same generic response to all negative reviews. I suspect the DM message is also a template so they can look good on social media but not really fix anything. I ordered a cake for my son birthday's through DoorDash and was charged. I arrived at the store, showed my order detail and credit card charge, and they did not have my order. I called DoorDash and they see my order in my account but was told there was a system glitch that prevented from sending the order to the store. DoorDash noted they would send an email to the store manager about the order to get it resolved but was never done. After 40 minutes of nonsense with DoorDash, the manager and his team helped me out immensely by providing the cake but unfortunately DoorDash was dishonest and never fixed the issue. No outdoor dining. No delivery from this location as far as I can tell--the Yelp link just redirects you to other branches. I got the chicken Caesar baguette and soft cheese cake. The baguette was nice. The cheese cake wasn't really cheese cake as I expected, but rather Japanese cheese cake. This was a terrible time after all the outings I spent here with my family. My husband ordered a turkey sandwich & we spent alot of time picking it out because he hates sauces & a majority of them came with sauce. Warning!!! Always double check the pricing at Paris Baguette should you choose to spend your hard-earned money there! Not going to return! Very disappointed with my visit in the evening of Nov 18, 2018. The caprese salad was priced as $7.95 in the showcase. The cash register showed $8.25 when the staff rang it up. When I questioned the inconsistency of the pricing, the senior staff told me that the pricing was wrong in the showcase and in the cash registers?! The actual price, he explained, should be $8.25+ 8.875% tax =$8.99! Eventually, he honored the $7.95 price tag I saw and had to add NYC sales tax on top of it, so I had to pay $8.66, more than the initial price, $8.25 requested. This was all very confusing to consumers when Paris Baguette didn't have correct price tag at the showcase and not in the cash registers. How can we consumers trust the bakery? Their cakes are always well-designed and they have a variety of flavors that fits the asian palette perfectly. Their sweets are also not overpoweringly sweet that makes for a nice and light dessert after dinner. They also change their cake designs every so often and have special ones for special holidays which is nice and fun variety to come year after year. read more

So if you are searching for your shot of espresso or foamy cup of cappuccino, either patronize the law enforcer or cross the street to Dunkin Donuts. As the other outposts, Paris Baguette offers a variety of Francophile pastries, bread, soups and sandwiches, a bit more premium than FayDa, a Chinese bakery a block away. Although there are numerous sugar-clad shops within a small radius from each other, each does offer different cultural, culinary specialties. Starbucks does coffee best (opened for debate on this topic) and pastries and sandwiches are there for quick grab and go along with your cup of joe. Came here on the first day this location opened and it was quite busy! The line was wrapped around the store. It would've been nice to have someone directing the line because it blocked the pastries in the display windows and people were trying to access them. I originally wanted to order a fog latte but the told me that the espresso machine was not in yet - not a big deal to me, especially since they are new. Since the fog latte was not available, I ordered an iced chai latte. The iced chai latte had a unique creamy taste to it.
