This location of Paris Baguette recently opened where Radio Shack used to be as many other reviews mention. It has almost everything other Paris Baguette locations have drinks and pastries wise, with only some bar style window seats and 4-5 small tables with a cushioned wall seat. The prices here are slightly higher as compared to their locations in flushing, but its worth the extra 20 cents! Not sure if they have a restroom available for customers (didn't seem like they did), and it's not as much of a place to study like other coffee shops. I live in the neighborhood and am personally thrilled PB opened here. It's super clean, has a nice assortment of breakfast pastries and good amount of seating (compared to Starbucks and fay da). I grab a quick pastry in the am before grabbing my morning latte at Starbucks and good to go. Unlike other posts, I've had nothing but great and friendly service. read more

Decent bakery in the neighborhood. I usually visit solely for the yummy loaf breads and the soft spongy cakes. Definitely come early in the day for the freshest selections (also more variety because the good stuff buys out fast!). Customer service is very poor. When something is not available, you should just apologize and offer something else. You do not just go in the back and make "try" to make up something less than what it should be. Manager is also not very responsive when engaged. If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. They have the worst baguette I've ever tasted. They put SUGAR on their garlic baguette!! When I went back to exchange it for a regular baguette or get a refund, the manager started arguing with me stating that's how their made, nothing I can do. I had to argue for 5 min. After waiting two weeks, I replied to the customer service email address it came from and got delivery failure. Basically they are not interested in you as a customer. This is by far my favorite bakery in NYC to pop in quick and grab some pastries. They have a self serve case of pastries that are fresh daily. The croissants melt in your mouth and the fruit pastries are to die for. I've tried almost every pastry they offer, and I've never been disappointed to say the least. Everyone I've interacted with that works there has been super kind. It's always clean and cool. While the bread is the same quality as other Paris Baguette stores, they are priced more expensive. I went to purchase several pastries and the prices they rang up were about $0.20 to $0.30 more than the prices they had posted in the store. When I complained, the cashier made up some excuse about how they're adjusted to this being the "Forest Hills" store. I absolutely love Paris baguette but this one is not the greatest. The cakes look miserable compared to other Paris baguettes and the thing that turns me off so much is the amount of flies surrounding the pastries. Why are there so many flies? I visited Paris Baguette for the very first time today. Very happy I found it. It's bright, clean, and has a beautiful selection of French delights. The prices are very reasonable. I was quite surprised, actually, as I'm used to paying exorbitant prices most everywhere else. My new go-to spot for cakes - decently affordable and guaranteed to taste good. Not to mention they are absolutely gorgeous. I've been going to Martha's because there aren't many options in this area but their cakes are heavy and very sweet (of course delicious). PB offers lower calorie options and you don't feel completely guilty after having a slice or two. Also their regular iced coffee is probably laden with sugar and creme but it's delicious. Rarely do coffee shops have a pre-mixed coffee already so it's a nice old school concept. read more

Placed right next to the major Starbucks of the area, it's not clear why this cafe opened in Forest Hills at all. The staff supervisor I spoke with when they were first opening was rude and dismissive even though the place was basically empty except for our group. We ended up not placing our major pastry order. There are SO MANY other places in the neighborhood with better prices and more courteous service. The coffee is nothing special. Why walk out to a place with confused staff who can't take a simple order and a rude manager? Hopefully the space will turn over soon, as so many places on the block have. read more

My favorite bakery! I come here for cakes for birthdays, or for a nice breakfast before work. I've gotten the sponge, tiramisu, and the sponge with the strawberries in it and theyve all been hits so far! I personally love the sticky buns, rice donuts, twisted donuts, and their strawberry creams with the almond choux. Definitely have a customer for life there. Its a clean bakery smacked in the middle of 71st. It gets alot of traction and you'll see alot people during lunch and afterwork hours. The food is really good depending on what you like. I personally like the cheecake bites which are like Portuguese tart (Cantonese made Portuguese Tart) but instead of yellow custard feature a cheescake filling. They also have mini raspberry tarts which are fantastic. They also serve breakfast food and thats always a tossup. They feature something called eggs and bacon which has eggs in it like the bacon wrapped egg with mayo tasted weird and old to me, so id definitely skip that. Their croissants however are fantastic. They are light and fluffy and delicious. The mini croissants are not the same and will disappoint you. The mini garlic ones are sweet underneath and oily and just straight weird. The sandwiches (avocado bacon chipotle sandwich) is great! This is a really great addition to the neighborhood that made its way in 2 years ago. If your in the area i highly recommend it. read more

My husband ordered a birthday cake yesterday and picked it up today. The cake is super dry and the fruits on top all have a darker color than normal. It seems like it was made 3 days ago, clearly not fresh. I will never buy any birthday cake here. Imagine if you serve your guests with this, they might not even want to eat it. Different locations have slight differences or extra kinds of choices.. however, the service here at times a bit off and unfriendly and inattentive, but recent visit, has me thinking of not patronizing this location. A small thing like their Rewards program points are capriciously not honored on certain items even though the P.B. corporate advertisement says no such thing. Please bring back the vegan muffins! Both chocolate chip & blueberry were very delicious and reasonably priced at 2.50. It was literally the only vegan option they carried and was pulled at least 2-3 times now. It's sad because the employees i've spoken to say A LOT of people request this item because of not only veganism but also because of food allergy's. read more

I went on the first day when there was only a few items but the store was clean and it had a nice feel to it. I found this place very unsanitary. There are glass cases where people help themselves to pastries and croissants. As expected, people handle them with their hand and put them back. Disgusting. Plus, the pastries are not very good anyway. This is like a bakery version of McDonald's. read more
