I bought a pair of extremely expensive sunglasses at the store in Scottsdale Fashion Quarter. At that price, I thought the store would make them fit comfortably and stand behind the product. Not so! Once you buy, no refunds, no exchanges, and . . . worse yet . . . no service. I returned to the store 6 times (and I live out of state) to have the glasses adjusted. Each time the owner made me feel like I was a nuisance and a bother. After all, he already had my money. Save yourself the trouble, and shop elsewhere. read more

When I first thought of writing a review about a bad experience at Paris Optique I thought maybe I was overreacting. However after reading the many, many bad reviews, I realize that my experience was accurate. We first used Paris Optique about 7 years ago when my wife purchased new glasses from the Scottsdale Quarter location. At the time we had a very good experience and she was thrilled with her glasses. She recently had a change in her prescription and went back to the store. We were informed that the frame was still good and new lenses could be made and then installed in the same frame. When the lenses were ready, the technician broke the hinge on the frame when he was installing the lenses. He placed a temporary hinge until a new hinge of the correct color could be ordered. When we returned for him to place the new hinge we were informed that there was a charge of $107. At no time were we informed that there would be a charge as they had broken the hinge. They would not give my wife her glasses back until we paid the $107 and in the process the salesperson was rude to us and insinuated that we were lying that we hadn't been informed of the charge. The salesperson was the rudest I've ever seen in a retail establishment. This was enough to keep me from ever setting foot in a Paris Optique location again. I sent an email to their customer service but they did not even give me the courtesy of a reply I hope this review will help in keeping customers away from this company read more

Purchased frames and lenses one year ago, actually 5 days less than a year ago as it turned out. One lens was scratched so I took it in to be buffed. The lady at the Fashion Square store said it could not be buffed out and checked my file (She had to call the Scottsdale Quarter store where I purchased them to check the file). She told me that because the lenses were less than a year old they would replace them at no cost - something I had forgotten. She said it would probably take into next week to get the replacement lens. She was wrong. It took only three days. I was called to come in and after waiting just about an hour the glasses were set to go. Completely satisfied with the service - and that they took the time to call the other store and told me about the one year replacement. S.G. Scottsdale read more

I have been wearing prescription glasses since I was 10 years old and have purchased eyewear throughout the US and Europe. I have never had a worse experience than I have had at Paris Optique. They don't know how to fit eyewear for progressive lenses or bifocals. An improper fit on a progressive lens will literally make you sick. The owners (husband and wife) become nasty and hostile at the suggestion of impropriety on their part. The wife has literally started screaming at my husband and me for complaining about our ill fitting prescription lenses. If you're looking for new frames, you can consider shopping here but DO NOT PURCHASE. The proprietors are not only dishonest but are, seriously, the worst opticians! There are plenty of other optical shops that can order frames you might find at Paris Optical. Consider yourself warned! read more

This store has wonderful 'non-traditional,' dare I say 'cool' frames. The customer service has been very good in the past, but the last few times I've been in the store, it has not been good. The trouble seems to rest with the owner/manager (I think) who is a rude, sneering french-speaking woman. This is not the cultural divide, this is just plain old nastiness! If you have the stomach to handle it, go for it. Otherwise, find another high-end optical shop. You'll be happier. read more

A lens fell out of my $280 sunglasses when I was cleaning them 31 days after purchase. I took them in... receipt, box, broken glasses...all in hand to make sure I had everything they would need. When I started explaining what happened and asked about a replacement pair, the associate cut me off and said he couldn't do that and quoted their 10 day exchange policy. I told him I thought this was a warranty issue, but he said no and just offered to tighten the screws. I asked if he knew whether or not this was the problem, and he replied "I have no way of knowing that". My frustration turned to anger when he started lecturing me that "screws can fall out of almost any product at any time", and "we've had this policy in place for 30 years, and that's why you sign the receipt". I about lost it when he walked to the back and started griping to his coworker. Thankfully the manufacturer is covering directly, but I would never recommend Paris Optique. read more

This is the place for extraordinary glasses. I have never seen such a wide variety in eyeglasses and sunglasses. I will never shop anywhere else for my glasses again. The gentleman behind the curtain are by far the most knowledgeable I have ever encountered shopping for the perfect fit frames. They demonstrated a team oriented passion for their profession. A French woman claiming to own the multiple location independent business was a gem. She was confident and so patient with me from the start. She knew exactly which shapes and colors would compliment my face without any hesitation what so ever. Finally, a sales person who didn't show me twenty or thirty frames to choose from and twist my arm to make a quick sale. Paris Optique I am faithfully yours for many years to come. Outstanding Customer Service ! I had a problem that turned out to be an incorrect prescription. The staff was only concerned that i was happy with my glasses and went to great lengths to figure out my issue. In fact, if it hadn't been for their diligence and caring attitude my problem would have taken much longer to fix . i will be a long term customer. read more

After an extensive vacation nightmare, this establishment really went out of their way to demonstrate pure talent when it comes to Fashion style and Optical expertise. My husband who is one of the most difficult men in the world to fit glasses was custom fitted by an extraordinary gentlemen and young woman. Within moments, my husband and I knew they had been in the business for some time. Their knowledge of Fashion and the finest detail supersede themselves. Ordered glasses on a Friday afternoon and picked out a frame that was scratched. The bill was almost $900, so we asked if we could have a new frame, not the store sample.The store clerk promised to order a new frame, but could not give us any time frames. We called the owner, Fanny, on Monday at around 1:00 PM, after having to argue with her daughter for 10 minutes to get her name and phone number.Fanny informed me that 5 minutes after we left the store, they realized the frame was not scratched, just dirty, and they decided to use the store frame to make our glasses.I asked her if she didnt think it would have been appropriate to call us and let us know that they had decided not to get us a new frame. I never even got to ask about the time frame of when the glasses would be ready. Fanny was arrogant, rude, and screamed at me in French and English. She lectured me that she has been in the business for 25 years, and then went off on this random tangent about how her employees had watched her give birth to her children? Not sure what that was all about, but in the end she screamed some more, and I asked for a refund and she hung up on me. It was a big waste of time, and I would say go anywhere but to these stores - they are all owned by the same woman. read more

The owners and workers at this company are expert at arguing. They will argue, gang up on me and shove a mistake down my throat until they drive you out of the store dissatisfied but having paid through the nose. I have never experienced a business so fixed on forcing customers to accept their mistakes while laying the blame on the customer. I bought several very expensive frames for glasses with prescription lenses from them. They have made mistakes in the script and then blamed me while stating the script is correct and just saying it was my fault because I didn't know how to look out the glasses. They have sold defective merchandise and charge me to replace the defective parts only to say a year later that they no longer carry the brand because so many of their items were defective. Mind you they still charged me the $1100 for the frames with lenses; several $150 repair fees for the defects and all the while blamed me for this. Then the coup de gras was with new lenses that were supposed to be anti glare lenses that I was charged $165 extra for. The lenses did not have the anti glare coating so they tried to pulll a 'kings new clothes' on me and tell me that it in fact was anti glare and the glare I was seeing was normal for anti glare lenses and that they in fact were anti glare but the lenses were not so I asked for a refund on the anti glare that they didn't provide and they stated that there is no refunds. Meanwhile two of their workers, one an owner's child, the other a salesperson came out on the floor to argue forcibly with me in loud tones leaving me to shout back. I am appalled. I have shopped at this store many times with satisfaction, as well as the rest of my family and I was a good customer. However, when I was last there I was looking at a pair of Cartier glasses and got an emergency phone call my son was going to the emergency room and was in a medical crises. He passed a few weeks later. Needless to say, I had to rush out and they asked me if I wanted them to hold them. I said yes, but I wasn't thinking clearly and needed to get out of there,and they were aware of what was happening, and they handed me a receipt, and then they ran it on my credit card as a purchase. Look closely at the bottom of your receipt for small print. If they hold anything - it is a sale. I had to pay $1,300. for a pair of sunglasses I wasn't even certain I wanted to purchase. They have horrible customer service. I fought this sale for months. I will never re-enter their store. And the glasses they sold me, to be made as prescription sun glasses should not have been sold for that purpose. They are curved and wearing them makes me dizzy the way the prescription was put in.
