Probably my favorite banh mi in San Diego. Solid portion size and meat to veggie ratio is fantastic. The bread is perfectly baked and ppoit doesn't tear apart the roof of your mouth but still has that nice crunch to it.
Paris never disappoints. Sandwiches here are affordable and service is quick. Usual go tos are the special or the pork bbq. The last visit I wanted to try the sardine one but they didn't have it that day. I'll just have to come back and try to order it another day. The coffee here is just right, not too strong- perfect amount of condensed milk and coffee. Spring rolls are always fresh and delicious, shrimp egg rolls are also very good. Place is on the smaller side, some tables outside and they get pretty busy during lunch hours
After hitting all three spots I finally have a favorite, and honestly it's not this Paris Sandwich location. Not to say it's bad, it just comes in last for me. I've had better service, better vibe, and overall better food at their main location and the newer Point Loma spot. I've been consistent and ordered the pork belly banh mi at all three so I could actually compare, and this one just didn't hit the same. This one is tucked into a quieter part of the plaza away from the main Target area so parking is pretty easy which I appreciated. It was steady when I went, people coming in and out, but nothing too hectic, so it felt like a quick in and out stop. Inside you'll find everything you'd expect, Vietnamese drinks, desserts, grab and go items, plus the same menu across all the Paris Sandwich locations. I ended up getting the spring rolls which come in a pack of three and they look pretty big at first. When I got home and ate them, they were good and satisfied the craving. You get that crunch from the veggies, soft noodles, and that chewy rice paper texture, and the peanut sauce was solid. The only thing is the shrimp and meat were cut super thin, like almost to the point where you barely taste them. From the outside it looks like you're getting good pieces, but they're just really thin. Still enjoyable though, especially because the veggies were fresh and it was a satisfying bite. The pork belly banh mi was just alright. It didn't have that depth I've had at the other locations where the flavors really come through. The pork belly itself was hit or miss. The skin was a little too thick and kind of hard to bite through, and some pieces of the meat were dry and even a little cold, which made it feel off. The veggies were actually good and fresh, but overall the sandwich just didn't come together in a way that stood out. It was fine, just nothing I would go out of my way for. So yeah, definitely not the strongest out of the three for me, but I get why it's still a local go to. It gets the job done if you're nearby and want something quick.
Today (4/20), the restaurant was closed due to parking construction. Taking a day off is completely understandable , no issue with that at all. However, it would really help customers if this information were updated on Yelp and Google so people know before making the trip. Parking in the area is currently very limited because of construction, and we had to park far away and walk quite a distance, only to arrive and see a closure notice posted on the door. This was our first visit, and unfortunately we didn't get to experience anything yet. Seeing the restaurant listed as "Open" online while it was actually closed felt a bit frustrating. Clear online updates would greatly improve the customer experience and help avoid unnecessary inconvenience for guests.
This place reminds me of OC where all the retired uncles gather outside drinking coffee and eating. It's located opposite of Vinh Hung in the corner. They have a second location in Point Loma. We ordered take out and each banh mi was carefully wrapped and labeled with a sticker. Jambon ($7.45) - lots of meat (basically ham), one type of meat not like the "house special" where it came with variety of meat Crispy pork belly ($10.50) - crispy pork, it had a sweet and sour sauce that was tangy House Special ($7.95) - this was one hefty sandwich. It was heavy! Tons of meat, different variety of meat. A bit bland that we added more soy sauce. Chicken pie/Pate so ($1.40) - tiny square pastry. Flaky exterior and flavorful chicken filling. The bread could be better. It was a bit hard and sharp that it cut into my mouth. They sell desserts (Che) in the fridge. Pre made food on the counter like banh beo, spring roll, etc. 11 drink options on the menu and 16 bánh mì options. Overall, generous meat filling and the bread could be softer. But I'm biased towards French bread not baguette for my bánh mì.
Every time my husband and I are at Mira Mesa we always stop here to take some delicious food. Our favorite is their bang mi. We normally order 5 to go. They're great to eat during the week. Service is fast and easy. We normally go in and out.
Got the Dac Biet, aka special combo sandwich. i'd give it a 5/10, personally their sandwich didnt give me that wow factor for a dac biet. I expected a yummy Pate flavor but mainly got flavors of the veggies and mediocre cold cut meats in the sandwich. I've definitely had better authentic special combos. It just didnt wow me. It was ok. Service was quick and greeted with friendliness. Ambiance of this cafe was Minimalist and clean. Simple décor that keeps the focus on the food. Pretty small.
My dad had some friends over for lunch and they all wanted a sandwich, so I picked up some banh mi for all of us. I got the đặc biệt (special) for all of us and had some requests, which were all correctly prepared. I didn't want any mayo and one of my dad's friends didn't want the pickled veggies. The banh mi was absolutely delicious and hit the spot. The baguette was crispy on the outside and soft/chewy on the inside, perfectly baked! The sandwich was a good size and was generously packed with meat, pate, and pickled veggies. If you have a big appetite then you could probably finish the sandwich on your own. Otherwise, it's great for sharing! Honestly, half was quite filling! My dad is already asking when can we get this again, so for sure we'll be back for more! The shop was clean and the staff who helped me with my order was friendly and efficient. I didn't have to wait too long for my 5 sandwiches to be made to order. Great value, fresh ingredients, friendly service, very satisfying!
This is a counter style, Vietnamese sandwich and kind of like a marketplace where you can get your sauces and you can get à la carte eggrolls and Vietnamese buns and what I loved was the banana leaf rice wraps. I did not get any sandwiches, but I will definitely try the braised pork belly sandwich next time or the sausage and egg because they look delicious and pretty good prices at 7 to 8 dollars. I would say they also are selling smoothies that look delicious and worth trying out. I gotta come back here and try this again because they have sugarcane juice which is a really popular staple in Asian countries. There's plenty of parking and I would say that you can grab any thing you see and like pretty easily.
While leaving the Vinh Hung Supermarket I saw Paris Sandwiches nearby & decided to give it a try after reading some good Yelp reviews. This is a small busy Vietnamese sandwich shop. Order at the counter. It seemed like several people were buying a baguette to go with their sandwich order so I grabbed 1 too. Glad I did because the bread gets an A+ Fresh crusty on the outside & soft inside...I ordered my sandwich without mayo. The banh mi sandwich comes with picked veggies, a splash of cilantro & a bit of thin jalapeño. I am not a picked veggie fan but the grilled pork & bread were mighty tasty.
Couldn't eat here unfortunately. Too many smokers outside and can't be around smoke. Sister location(City Heights) has amazing bread and sandwiches. Hoped this place would be good. The bread was arriving from city heights, so pretty sure it is. Will try again another day.
This is more convenient for me to get to than bale French sandwiches. Both are great in their own ways. They increased the prices slightly since I last came. Large selection of grab and go items. There was an issue with my order, they had left out a sandwich, thankfully I noticed and they corrected and made the missing sandwich. I like the location, the sandwiches are delicious, it's tucked away in the back towards the Asian market. It can get cramp inside, there are tables outside on the side.
Yum! Just came from here & the service is super quick. They had my Vietnamese iced coffee & sandwich done in less than 5 minutes. I got their special dac biet and it did not disappoint. The Vietnamese coffee could have been a little less sweet, but it still hits the spot. Will definitely come back when I'm out doing errands.
This place is a GEM!!! I love all the authentic Vietnamese foods they have. One of the best banh mi I have had in SoCal! We tried their spring rolls. The one ready to purchase has a peanut sauce, but due to food allergies, they made us a fresh one with a side of fish dipping sauce (nuoc mam) instead. The pate chaud (puff pastry with chicken) is also a favorite of ours. The staff are all very nice as well. I wished we lived closer to one because I would come here weekly to eat! Sooo good! Note: there is not a lot of seating, but it seems like most of their orders were to go, so we were able to get a table outside. read more
Fresh bread, good stuffing ( #1, grilled pork, crispy pork add $3, not chicken), crispy pickled carrot and daikon, slices of jalapeños, mayo, pate, cilantro, soy sauce. Ok service. Ordered at counter, picked up to the side, open kitchen so you can see how they prepare the food. They have other to go snack available right at counter. In and out so not much ambiance. Do have one table in the front if you want to sit down. Also sell fresh pressed sugar cane juice and other drinks. Not over the top but solid bánh mì to go place. read more

I came here around 4pm on a Friday and they still had a ton of stuff to pick from. My cousin recommended this place as his favorite banh mi spot. I ordered his go to, the #15, crispy pork belly banh mi. Bomb.com. The bread was crispy but perfectly soft, and the pork meat moist w/ crispy skin. The whole sandwich was so flavorful. The mayo & pate was yummy! Probably one of the best banh mi I've had since I moved back to Cali. Yea I said it. lol. I did get some of the banana leaf wrapped savory items, & some frozen banh bot loc (clear rice shrimp dumplings.) Hoping they're all as good as their banh mi! Great service, clean restaurant, & easy parking. This will be my go to for banh mi from now on. Can't wait to get more of the pork belly banh mi. It was so good I almost went back for a second one before headed back home. read more
Shout out to Adonis Eats (@imadoniseats), who is a Bay Area foodie, for doing a San Diego tour of eateries and featuring Paris Sandwiches on his tour. Check him out on Instagram for foodie related vignettes, but the clips I watched of him were at my fave Filipino restaurant R&B Filipino Cuisine and Paris Sandwiches, which specializes in Vietnamese Bahn Mi sandwiches. This was me and my wife's first time grubbing here and after mimicking Adonis' choices of the #1 House Special and the #15 Crispy Pork Belly, I can definitively say that we'll be visiting this sandwich shop many times. Paris Sandwiches is located in Mira Mesa specifically within the Target shopping center on Mira Mesa Blvd. This shopping center is one of the bigger centers in the area, so there is plenty of parking. The shop is located on the east end of the shopping center across from the Vinh Hung Vietnamese supermarket and is one of the tenants in this strip of businesses. It's a short jog away from Golden Island Dim Sum restaurant and O'Reilly Auto Parts; a few doors away from Domino's Pizza; Trining's Bakery is in the same spot; and it's next door to LHK Noodle Bar. The only negative about Paris is the lack of seating to enjoy their incredible sandwiches. There is a plank of wood facing out the windows where people can dine in and there are five stools for customers. There is one outdoor table with three chairs, so take out will be the preferred method to enjoy their sandwiches. The decor is minimal with one television showing an Asian show, a plant on top of their cold box that holds cold drinks and cold food, and a ceramic Virgin Mary and smiling cat. I've indulged in Bahn Mi sandwiches from Vietnamese Pho restaurants here in San Diego, but after watching Adonis' snippet on Paris Sandwiches, I made sure to include this sandwich place on my Yelp's Want To Go list. I imitated Adonis' order of the #1 House Special and the #15 Crispy Pork Belly. When you order the #1, make sure to ask for extra pâté, which is a spread of finely chopped or pureed seasoned meat. What will capture your attention from first bite to your last will be their fresh baguette. The vessel alone that holds everything is a standout by itself and I'm sure would be tasty with melted butter. Combine the bread with each of the different components and I can unequivocally say that the #1 and #15 were two of THE BEST Bahn Mi sandwiches I've ever eaten. The #1 House Special comes with a combination of cold cut ham, pork roll, pork belly, and with the pâté, it was tasty, fresh, and a satisfying sandwich. The #15 Crispy Pork Belly comes with roasted crispy pork belly and sweet and sour sauces. What I enjoyed about the #15 was the little kick it had with fresh jalapeños, the crunchiness of the pork belly, and once again, the freshness. My wife and I had the day off to chomp on these sandwiches and we seriously had difficulty deciding which of the two sandwiches were our favorite. For me, I loved both and would order both in a heartbeat. Paris Sandwiches will be our go to Bahn Mi sandwich joint and we can't wait to introduce our kids to these two delicious sandwiches. My wife and I decided to order the #1 and #15 and split the sandwiches, so that we can taste each sandwich. Next time, I'm going to order one of each just for myself. This is a great place to order Banh Mi in Mira Mesa. The ingredients were fresh and flavorful. I tried the crispy pork belly and it was a prefect balance of savory and sweet, on a perfectly baked baguette. I appreciated the fair prices, prompt service, and the convenience of this family owned restaurant. read more
Pretty good Grilled Chicken Banh Mi for my first time. Good size sandwich in my opinion. Ordering is very straight forward, I was in and out for a to-go order under 10 min. Although a tasty sandwich, I can't say it's my favorite in town. Can still see myself coming here for my banh mi fix from time to time. Pretty busy around lunch time but again, very speedy. been craving a good banh mi spot in san diego and this def hittt!! the crispy pork was sooo good, had a really good crunch and i lovedddd the sauce they added to the sandwich, so yummy!! the amount of meat they gave was decent, but for me i wish they gave more pickled vegetables. bread was toasted well and overall a great banh mi place!! yummy rating: 8/10 read more

Paris Sandwiches is a humble takeout eatery in Mira Mesa. This local gem specializes in banh mi, and it is one of my favorite places to grab a Grilled Chicken Banh Mi! THE FOOD The baguette is the star. The thin bread combines pillowy softness inside with a crisp, flaky outer shell. The moist grilled chicken is complemented by sweet/sour pickled vegetables, a kick of heat from sliced jalapeños, and creamy mayo. At $7.05, the value is high. SERVICE The service is pleasant and no-nonsense. The order taker demonstrated excellent throughput efficiency, managing the queue and getting customers processed and fed rapidly. OVERALL A local favorite for grabbing a high-quality, budget-friendly banh mi for lunch or a snack. read more

I freaking love this place! I'm very loyal and this is the only place I will go eat Banh Mi me sandwiches in San Diego. I've been here plenty of times but today I was a bit sad because I didn't know that they would close early on MLK day. I got here right at 5 PM which is when they closed. It didn't say anything on their Google page. Oh well. Nevertheless... I highly recommend this place. They open really early and have a good timeframe for store hours. I live about 13 to 15 minutes away... I wish I lived closer lol. They have a great variety of sandwiches and it's always so fresh and flavorful. They even have sugarcane juice! So fresh. Next time I come here, I'll be sure to take photos of my food and post them every time I eat here. I can't wait and I'll eat it within like 5 to 10 minutes of ordering lol. The ambience in here is pretty chill... Nothing too fancy but that's OK. It doesn't need to be! They do keep it super clean from what I have seen so I'm happy about that. I'm unsure if they have public restrooms, but I hope they do! Parking here is always so easy to find and I love it! read more

This is the newest Vietnamese sandwich shop in Mira Mar. Overall, the counter service is very good, and our banh mi has been prepared quickly. Banh mi are good, but the rolls are toasted too much. Prices are slightly lower than other shops, but the banh mi selection is more limited, as is other items such as spring rolls. This is a single store front with some counter-height seating inside and 6 or so tables outside, which need to be cleaned between customers using them. The shop is conveniently located to the east of Target, and parking is good. read more

The sesame balls are a must try! They are a childhood favorite of mine and instantly brings nostalgia feels and makes me miss my mama. It has yellow mung bean inside instead of red mung bean like most dim sum restaurants serve. I quit pork recently so I love that they have chicken egg rolls instead of pork and Their steamed buns/Banh baos are also chicken instead of pork! My husband loves their thit nuong pork sandwiches. Packed with meat, veggies and spread. Their bread is always so fresh and not toasted twice like most other Banh mi places. And HALF the cost compared to others in the same area. That way I can get a few extra wrapped fried shrimps! I eat them all on the drive before I even get home lol. Small family owned, always packed and busy but super fast service. all the Chu's be outside playing card games or Chinese checkers giving all the childhood feels like when the OGs be nhau'ing at the pho shops lol. Really authentic feel and have some great sandwiches. They even have the heo quay (roast pig) banh mi which isn't easy (or cheap) to come by. Portions are great, flavors are spot on, would come here again. read more

There is a minimum charge of $5 for credit card payments. I got two sandwiches: dac biet and crispy pork. While the dac biet was pretty standard, the crispy pork was amazing; the perfect combination of sweet and tangy flavors. Additionally, both sandwiches are generously filled and quite sizable, making them a satisfying option. read more
Hole in the wall treasure!! If there are groups of soldiers, aunties and uncles enjoying their banh mi's at 9am, that speaks volumes about the establishment! - Grilled Pork Banh Mi ($7.50) !!!!! - Crunchy, chewy baguette filled with sweet and succulent marinated grilled pork, pickled daikon and carrots, and a creamy sauce! Each bite was tastier than the last, my friend and I split the banh mi and finished it all too quickly Big portions for such a fair price, and even better than some in LA!! - Chicken Pot Pie ($1.30) !!!! - So so juicy and perfectly flaky!! So reminiscent of home in LA, and although the taste isn't strong, it's a perfect bite and great price, excited to get more With fresh bread, authentic sweets, and a wide selection including sticky rice, as a foodie I'm enticed by all the tasty treats!! Staff are super friendly and even faster, our banh mi came out in less than 5 min!! I've already visited the restaurant two times in one day after a full day of moving, and am excited for my next visits to try the rest of their menu!! read more

I wasn't even hungry but I decided to go here while my grandma gets her haircut next door. I just went in for a Thai tea, but I walked in and immediately knew the sandwiches are fire.... So you know I had to get one! It definitely did not disappoint. The onlyyyy thing I was bummed about was the boba... is it just me, or does anyone else not like the boba here?
