Thought we'd check out the Rose City Pub. It's in our neighborhood and it has been a long time since we've been there. In fact, the very first time we went to that location, it was called 'Sir Loins'! His grandparents used to take us there, and after Sir Loins, we went back once, but were not happy with their steak. Years later, we'll give them another chance. Hubby ordered a glass of Merlot, and said it was excellent. For his meal, he ordered the Surf and Turf, which was an 8 ounce sirloin steak and large fried shrimp. As his side, he ordered the loaded baked potato. A green salad was also ordered. We were quite frankly blown away by the food. The steak was cooked exactly as requested and was as tender as could be. The potato was hot and loaded, and came with additional butter, sour cream and green onions to add on. Toasted cheese bread was on the plate. The salad with ranch dressing was just fine too. All that for a very reasonable price. Service was quick and friendly. The vibe of the pub was friendly as well. I got Rueben Sandwich with fries. We shared the salad, above. The sauerkraut with my Rueben was far more better than one I had recently! Half of everything, was set for another meal. read more

Verlinda has been holding down the bar every Wednesday-Saturday since I met her shortly after the pandemic. I made it a point to come and see her in the afternoon, in the middle of my own workday, for lunch, every single week. Towards the end of 2024, she went on a medical leave. Now that she's back, she's working Saturday-Tuesday. The fact that she hasn't been given her original shift completely blows my mind, and it affects the service. This isn't anything personal against the rest of the staff, I absolutely adore everyone. But coming in on Wednesday and Friday afternoons were essentially, rituals. I recognize that someone covered her shifts while she was away, but the fact that she is being required to work a different schedule after returning from a medical leave is absurd. Although V is the most senior employee at Park City, she holds that place down! I hadn't been to the pub in two months and finally came in today and was shocked to know she doesn't have her weekday shifts. Who do I need to talk to and advocate for her? Everyone LOVES Verlinda at Park City. I'm seriously hoping this has nothing to do with her age, because I will raise HELL about it. Give that woman back what she's worked so hard to build! Let me start by saying, it all about the waitress, great personality, and even better service. We had breakfast, usual eggs hash browns and links. The biscuit was small and really small. Val's Pancakes and scrambled eggs were delicious, and the bacon was crisp. We've driven by this place for so long but never stopped in. Hubs is vegetarian and we are not sports ball types so we just figured this place wouldn't be for us but decided to go because we saw they have good reviews. Boy are we glad we did, bar food yes but excellent bar food. My first time in I had the French dip and onion rings and hubs had the veggie burger and fries. Everything was excellent but my rings, oh my god these are the rings u hope to get when ordering rings. Hubs loved his fries too. Another time we came for breakfast, it was also excellent. Not my favorite coffee, server was alone and forgot to turn our order in but we don't care. The owner is always so awesome, everyone seems to care about serving good food. Yes this place is loved and lived- in but everything is clean including the beer taps. I've been in plenty of old times places and you can smell their taps from the street. This place is not that. Its time to update my review. I was a Yelp newbie when I wrote my first review. Honestly. It was a bit unfair on my part. This place is a decent sized bar and grill. It has a couple of pool tables and a few slots. The bar area is rather large and the restaurant area is decent. On Friday night the place was popping. Everyone seemed to be having a great time! The service was very good considering all the people that were here. We had a drink in our hand before we knew it. Our food orders were quickly taken. This was one of two AWESOME dining recommendations we got from the desk attendant at the nearby Howard Johnson's. Walking distance from that and another motel, this place was EXACTLY what we were looking for on our soooooooo sad last night in Oregon... A comfortable, cozy, "neighborhood" place, nothing fancy, but full of character, a great hangout with surprisingly good food and service!! When I'm traveling, I'm torn between wanting to try something completely new/exotic and craving "all the comforts of home." I think this place is a great mix. While wishing we had more time to explore some more interesting nooks and crannies in and around Portland, we were sort of "stuck" in the area of our motel on our last night here in the city. Park City Pub was a great choice, in walking distance of our hotel, and offered up some familiar AND unique menu choices. My patty melt and tots hit the spot, and the Mr. was real impressed with the extensive choice of local brews. Philly Cheesesteak is the marque item and it's one of the better in town! The Burger is old school simple: 1/4 lb, potato Franz-like non-grilled bun, special sauce, raw onions, dark cheddar, l&t. For this type of burger their version is excellent, and $7 including fries is a good deal. The chicken fried steak combo was good, but somewhat unmemorable. For this type of breakfast I prefer Katie O'Brien's or Holman's. Waitress is typical "Flo" and who you expect to find at such a place. read more

Came here with some friends a little while back. Friend ordered a fruity drink that had little black specks in it -assumed they were fruit seeds. Upon closer inspection, they were literally ANTS. DEAD ANTS. At least 30 of them, just floating in her drink. She showed the bartender, who then pulled out a bottle of grenadine that was just FULL of dead ants. Absolutely disgusting. He offered her a free drink and excused it by saying not many folks order things with grenadine, so he hadn't seen the ants in my opinion her entire tab should have been comped at the very least. It was truly disgusting on so many levels. Have to wonder what the food is like if you don't notice all the ants in your mixers. Park City Pub was surprisingly cool. It has a locals vibe - not a dive bar, but not full of clubbers or gawking tourists. I came in, and the bartender helped me pick out a local IPA and the nachos special. I haven't had a pile of nachos in a bar in a long time, and this was an AWESOME mountain of chips, chicken, cheese, olives, jalapenos, salsa, guac, and more. In the end, while I managed to strip mine my way to see plate in a few places, I was unable to devour the whole monster. But it was tasty tasty stuff. And since it was the Thursday special, it was like 6 bucks. Big beer selection. They have sports on TV, grunge and 80s on the speakers, two pool tables (one of which was in use), some video lottery games (something that a lot of Oregon establishments seem to have) - also in use, and a patio area outdoors.
