    Birthday treats

We had such a lovely birthday weekend at this hotel! As native Chicagoans, We chose this magnificent mile location to celebrate as I truly love the attention to detail that a luxury brand brings to hospitality. They absolutely hit the mark. At check in we were notified that we had been upgraded complimentary to a high floor suite. The room was beautiful and well appointed with a soaking tub and a striking view of the lake and city. The concierge team, initiated by Casey Frankel, also sent up complimentary sparkling wine and cake. Every request was met quickly, and everyone on staff seemed to truly enjoy helping us. Attention to detail is so imperative in properties that charge a premium, and Park Hyatt left us feeling celebrated and honored to share our birthday weekend together. Well done! We will happily return and recommend.

We stayed in the Chicago Avenue Suite for an early 20 year anniversary treat. It was a beautiful room with a nice cityscape view and a really comfy bed. And a tub. And a living room with a sofa and table. Everything you could ask for. Everything was beautiful and set the right mood for our special occasion. There were a few hiccups. 1. as clean and beautiful as it was, the tub was dirty and had hair. I had to rinse it down before using it, and that put a damper on the experience. 2. The pool and sauna - it's great having a wet sauna... until it isn't. An exploding sound goes off every few minutes when you're inside to let the steam into the room. I've been to many, many steam saunas. This is NOT normal. The staff tried to tell me that it was normal, just how the steam gets into the room, but no. That's not how a steam room sounds. It doesn't make the experience relaxing. I had to leave after trying for about 10 minutes. It was more disappointing bc everything except for the exploding sound was so nice. 3. Ordered a curling iron on their app in the room, and had to call after the wait time had come and gone, since I had a dinner date to get to. When it finally arrived, it was a flat iron, not a curling iron. Little things that you kinda have big expectations for when you are staying in such a high end place.

Let's face it, this a pretty iconic hotel with beautiful art deco touches woven into its design. It feels like the recent renovation was highly methodical and tasteful, but interestingly enough the common area feels small; lacking the sense of grandeur. When I think of iconic repositionings of hotels this is certainly one. The hard product is excellent. The park suite is in my opinion perfectly designed minus the small windows. It is the only floor plan where the bathtub shares a wall of partial glass. The globalist breakfast is also pretty elite - on weekends you can get a lobster handheld. So you may be thinking is the four star review a mistake because the location is also excellent. However, the biggest area of opportunity was consistency around service. Having traveled to 10 plus park hyatts this one's service fell short particularly at check in the attendants demeanor was off putting.... It felt more like I was checking into a holiday inn express. She was rather dismissive. But hey this could've been a one off and this hotel has a lot going for it.

Beautiful hotel. Back for the second time and still stunning. Conveniently located, excellent staff, and clean rooms that are luxurious. Suite was excellent with a larger room. Early check in wasn't available due to demand.

I think this has been the nicest hotel I've ever stayed in. We spent one night here and got upgraded due to our status. I won't even say how much we would have paid for room if it wasn't for the status upgrade. The decor in the room is what I aspire my house to look like one day. The bed is super comfortable and you can easily fit two people in the bathtub. The shower stall has a huge rainfall over head and I think I literally stood under it for 15 minutes. Pretty much A++++++++ stay here and hope one day we can come back and stay here. The hotel is right off Michigan Ave, so you can spend your day shopping on Michigan Ave and come back to the hotel to relax or have a drink at their bar.

This was my first time staying at a Park Hyatt hotel. One of the main reasons was the location of everything. It's in a good area with good foot traffic. The hotel itself was very nice, and the customer service was exceptional. The room we got was nice and considered an 'upgrade'. I liked that you can control the curtains with a push button. The bed was very comfortable. We were also able to get a late checkout, which helped a lot. Overall, it was a very nice hotel with superb customer service.

Beautiful 5-star hotel situated right next to the Water Tower and conveniently located near all the top attractions. Rooms are clean and modern. Service was courteous and attentive. The only improvement I could think of is that the lobby could use a little more wow factor. Other that, I highly recommend this hotel when visiting Chicago!

This is a solid choice for Hyatt rewards, but this category requires 25000 points a night. The hotel is nice, but some parts of my room were worn and showed age, perhaps the rooms could be inspected for defects. For instance my towel hook was barely hanging on and the vent was off over my bed, and some areas require painting. The amenities are top notch, Nespresso pods in my room and Le Labo products. The spa was closed and I did not have time to use the fitness center. The front desk service was adequate. I needed to borrow a charger and was informed the cost would be $35 to keep the charger...Parker the Pug lives there and she's awesome, every hotel needs a resident pug. I would consider staying here again, but only with points.

I love this hotel because there's a cute puppy that lives here and wanders around. The staff is amazing and make you feel at home. Even basic rooms have plenty to offer yet we still tend to upgrade. They even have a Tonal room with the workout mirror that we want to stay in tomorrow night so if we do I will add the pics!

This hotel was located within the loop near the river, shops, bars and restaurants. The hotel rooms are basic and small. We were fortunate to get an upgraded room with two queen beds and an amazing view out the window of the city. The window was large and clean. The beds were comfy with ample pillows. Four pillows were provided. The hotel set up is a bit awkward. Room is best for one person as lacks storage for large luggage. Plus there is not a defined bathroom. The shower is within the bedroom. Fortunately the shower was frosted but you walk right into the bedroom so you must be comfortable with those you stay with. Plus the room does really have a deck and chair to work. The desk is a fold down from the wall. The chair for the deck is located on the wall and not really suitable for long term working on sitting as does not have a back to it. The best thing above this hotel are the staff. The front desk staff are super friendly and accommodating and aim to please. The bartender was super friendly and attentive as well. Lastly parking is not available right at the hotel. You have to walk two blocks. Plus parking cost 59 dollars and that's the discounted rate. Also not really a suitable place to drop luggage off. If you pull up to the front door, you are blocking traffic. Base on price of 400 dollars the night we stayed, I would say it's not worth the stay. Maybe it's worth 200 or less for Chicago.

While searching hilton.com for a hotel to stay at on the day of my birthday, Hampton Inn Majestic…read moreChicago Theatre District was the first to pop-up within Chicago. I want to say that I have had my eye on this hotel for a while now after looking for Hilton hotel locations with a peloton bike, which this one has. Other than that, I loved that the location of this hotel sits in the heart of Chicago, surrounding a plethora of activities which made it the perfect choice for hotel stay to celebrate. Okay, it was an experience going up to the lobby area to check in at this hotel, a blonde moment as I am known for if you follow my reviews. The lobby is located on the 4th floor, so be sure to choose "L" for the lobby because there is no 4th floor button listed in the elevator. Me and two other hotel guests had an adventure going up to the lobby area after trying to figure out where the 4th floor button was. My experience with the receptionist working behind the desk was nothing less than professional. Since my room was already booked through Hilton Honors, the only thing check-in consisted of was a verification of my information, a briefing on what is offered, and the receptionist giving me my room key. For your information, check-in starts at 4:00 PM and check-out ends at 12:00 PM! If you have the Hilton honors application, there is the opportunity to check in with the application, choosing your room, and receiving a digital key, which will allow you to go to your room contactless without seeing a receptionist upon your arrival. I have not used this method, but if you are interested in no contact whatsoever then you can use it with the Hilton Honors application. After locating and entering my room, I thought to myself this is fancy once I took notice of the design and interior color which appeared so elegant! There was a variation of vibrant colors in the room from its curtains to the headboard of the king-size bed, the carpet, and a gold chair that looked like something out of your grandmother's house. Out of all, I just could not take my eyes off the curtains which reminded me of cherry blossoms because of the colors. Inside the bathroom there were liquid products by Gilchrist & Soames Zero% attached to the wall. Throughout my travels, I have noticed that hotels have completely dealt away with the mini shampoo, bath soap, and conditioner products that made great travel hygiene additions. Along with those notable things inside of the room, it met my cleanliness standards. I had no issues whatsoever getting comfortable in the king-sized bed during my stay as my head was engulfed in between the comfortable pillows. While utilizing the shower, I really enjoyed the water pressure; its soothing pressure made me feel very cleansed during each usage. It was wonderful toggling with the spray patterns, with the addictive feel of the pressure hitting my face and body. Other things the room came with that I noticed were a comforter, an iron, ironing board, blow dryer, safe, comforter, a coffee maker (Hamilton Beach), a mini refrigerator, microwave, and USB and AC plugins attached to either the headboard of the bed, lamps, or the television cabinet, which added a nice touch to the room. And the Wi-Fi internet was easy to connect to and not once did I have any connectivity issues with it during my stay. Hampton Inn Majestic, as expected, had an exceptionally beautiful inner interior! As a fitness enthusiast, it was great having a fitness center onsite because it allowed me to keep up with my fitness routines during my stay. I must say that I was pleased to see several dumbbell weights, medicine balls, kettlebells, a decent selection of workout machines, and two peloton fitness bikes which charmed me out of my panties once I spotted them. And oh, honey did I enjoy it on my birthday with the lovely Hannah Frankson as my peloton instructor, who put my legs through torture during her low impact workout. Having the complimentary breakfast was a relief because I did not have to worry about finding a restaurant for breakfast in the morning. And I was highly satisfied with the quality of what was presented. It is served daily from 6:00 AM - 10:00 AM. For you all visiting the city of Chicago, there are plentiful sights, activities, and restaurants within a radius of Hampton Inn Majestic. As a resident, a few that I adore are Willis Tower, Millennium Park, and the Art Institute of Chicago! Next door is the CIBC Theatre, which I noticed upon my initial arrival at the hotel. And if you are looking to explore the city or outer part of the city, the Chicago Union Station, and CTA Train Station are very accessible to-and-from. I would surely book Hampton Inn Majestic Chicago Theatre District again due to my experience with it because the hotel met my comfort needs, and I loved that its location is within an accessible distance of things of interest in downtown Chicago. ~ Live every moment ~ Thomas G
