I spent my birthday weekend here on a solo retreat. Absolutely loved it. I won't show pictures of the whole suite since you can view the 360 on their website to do that. A lovely spot for a spendy staycation. Very friendly and accommodating staff, from the valet to front desk to maintenance. We had wonderful room that looked directly east, over the MCA and on to the lake. Very large, with a dining table for 2-3, and a spacious bathroom. Spend the extra money on the lake view, you won't regret it. The bed was one of the best hotel beds I've slept on - low profile, soft and enveloping. The room has nice touches like auto lights and doorbells. The only drawbacks is that the walls were thin and the TV reception was glitchy. Superb restaurant. We would return. read more

We stayed in the Chicago Avenue Suite for an early 20 year anniversary treat. It was a beautiful room with a nice cityscape view and a really comfy bed. And a tub. And a living room with a sofa and table. Everything you could ask for. Everything was beautiful and set the right mood for our special occasion. There were a few hiccups. 1. as clean and beautiful as it was, the tub was dirty and had hair. I had to rinse it down before using it, and that put a damper on the experience. 2. The pool and sauna - it's great having a wet sauna... until it isn't. An exploding sound goes off every few minutes when you're inside to let the steam into the room. I've been to many, many steam saunas. This is NOT normal. The staff tried to tell me that it was normal, just how the steam gets into the room, but no. That's not how a steam room sounds. It doesn't make the experience relaxing. I had to leave after trying for about 10 minutes. It was more disappointing bc everything except for the exploding sound was so nice. 3. Ordered a curling iron on their app in the room, and had to call after the wait time had come and gone, since I had a dinner date to get to. When it finally arrived, it was a flat iron, not a curling iron. Little things that you kinda have big expectations for when you are staying in such a high end place. read more

Let's face it, this a pretty iconic hotel with beautiful art deco touches woven into its design. It feels like the recent renovation was highly methodical and tasteful, but interestingly enough the common area feels small; lacking the sense of grandeur. When I think of iconic repositionings of hotels this is certainly one. The hard product is excellent. The park suite is in my opinion perfectly designed minus the small windows. It is the only floor plan where the bathtub shares a wall of partial glass. The globalist breakfast is also pretty elite - on weekends you can get a lobster handheld. So you may be thinking is the four star review a mistake because the location is also excellent. However, the biggest area of opportunity was consistency around service. Having traveled to 10 plus park hyatts this one's service fell short particularly at check in the attendants demeanor was off putting.... It felt more like I was checking into a holiday inn express. She was rather dismissive. But hey this could've been a one off and this hotel has a lot going for it. read more

Park Hyatt Chicago is the most luxurious Hyatt Hotel you can possibly stay at in Chicago. It is situated right in front of the Magnificent Mile on Michigan Ave. but also in front of you is the Historical Water Tower that survived The Great Fire of Chicago back in the day, as well as The Water Tower Mall & John Hancock Center. You are situated at the very beginning of Mag Mile with thousands of restaurants and touristy spots way ahead of you as you travel down Michigan Ave. The Chicago River is also just blocks away. There is dog by the name of Parker that meets you when you enter in and also Valet service. They provide you with umbrellas if you need it as well as 5-star service with there Canada Goose jackets when it's cold. The restaurant Nomi is very delicious, with a Japanese - Filipino fusion because the well reknowned chef is actually Filipino Drinks and food are simply amazing. Now, lets talk about every single room and suite at this Hyatt Property. It is listed as a Category 6 Hotel which is the highest in its class in Chicago. I've stayed at other properties with Hyatt Category 8 as a Globalist in Maui, Hawaii such as Andaz in Wailea but this property at Category 6 delivers the most absolute comfortable experience. They cater to you with their TOTO seat warming toilets as well overhead rain showers. There are slippers and robes for you and your loved one. They also accomodate big families by having suites conjoin if you choose to do so. The minibar is well stocked and the views of the Water Tower, Lake Michigan as well as the City of Chicago are all too breaktaking. They have a spa located within this hotel as well a technologically advanced gym and a serene indoor pool, which was heated. read more

I think this has been the nicest hotel I've ever stayed in. We spent one night here and got upgraded due to our status. I won't even say how much we would have paid for room if it wasn't for the status upgrade. The decor in the room is what I aspire my house to look like one day. The bed is super comfortable and you can easily fit two people in the bathtub. The shower stall has a huge rainfall over head and I think I literally stood under it for 15 minutes. Pretty much A++++++++ stay here and hope one day we can come back and stay here. The hotel is right off Michigan Ave, so you can spend your day shopping on Michigan Ave and come back to the hotel to relax or have a drink at their bar. read more

My daughter and I spent a fabulous weekend at the Park Hyatt a few weeks ago. Although it was a busy weekend, we were treated as though we were the only guests they had! Check-in was a delight! Our room was ready at 1pm!! And what a room!! Beautifully appointed and the view!! The Water Tower and Lake Michigan...what a treat! Spent an evening at spa with wonderful massages! Absolutely every staff member we came across, from room service to house-keeping was friendly and seemingly happy to be at work. This was my first time staying at a Park Hyatt hotel. One of the main reasons was the location of everything. It's in a good area with good foot traffic. The hotel itself was very nice, and the customer service was exceptional. The room we got was nice and considered an 'upgrade'. I liked that you can control the curtains with a push button. The bed was very comfortable. We were also able to get a late checkout, which helped a lot. Overall, it was a very nice hotel with superb customer service. read more

This is a solid choice for Hyatt rewards, but this category requires 25000 points a night. The hotel is nice, but some parts of my room were worn and showed age, perhaps the rooms could be inspected for defects. For instance my towel hook was barely hanging on and the vent was off over my bed, and some areas require painting. The amenities are top notch, Nespresso pods in my room and Le Labo products. The spa was closed and I did not have time to use the fitness center. The front desk service was adequate. I needed to borrow a charger and was informed the cost would be $35 to keep the charger...Parker the Pug lives there and she's awesome, every hotel needs a resident pug. I would consider staying here again, but only with points. read more

They have a nice and warm pool inside the hotel which was perfect for the boys to swim. The decor in the rooms are so nice and the rooms are spacious as well. We were in Chicago for a few nights and wanted to stay at the flagship Park Hyatt for a variety of reasons. This is the original Park Hyatt. The Hyatt brand is based in Chicago so this is the one city that they have a large footprint in. Also, this hotel recently underwent a multi-million dollar renovation and we wanted to see how it turned out. We flew into O'Hare and Uber into the city. Be advised that on the Uber app they will drop you off in front of the residence and not the hotel, but if that's the case all you have to do is walk around the corner. The hotel entrance and the residence entrance is separated by a Canada Goose store. Once we entered we can see the renovation starting from the lobby to the front desk. It's not the largest lobby in the world, but it is enough for you to wait comfortably for an Uber or a cab if there's weather. We checked in and the front desk recognized by Globalist status and offered us an upgrade to the Chicago Avenue Suite. From their standard suites, you have 3 options (the NoMi Suite, the Park Suite and the Chicago Avenue Suite). The Chicago Avenue Suite is the largest of the 3, but the Park Suite does have a bathtub that overlooks the park, if that interests you. The lovely lady checked us in and walked us to the elevator explaining to us our benefits. The restaurant, spa, pool and patio are all located on the 7th floor with the hotel located above and below that. You should also be aware that those we reside in the residence do have access to the amenities of the hotel, so plan accordingly if you want to workout, go to the spa, have breakfast or swim. The Chicago Avenue Suite is about 700+ square foot of space covering two rooms and two full baths. In the rooms is where they put the money into the renovations. Everything is automated and you can control everything with a tablet that's located bed side every panel has numerous options. Both bathrooms offer the Toto Japanese toilets, but these are also even more amazing as it's self flushing if you forget to flush or you can use the remote control to flush. Both bathrooms have the traditional Le Labo Bergamote 29 amenities that you'll find at every Park Hyatt around the world with the exception of the Park Hyatt Tokyo, which uses Aesop. Both are fantastic and smells great and if you need more the housekeeping staff is happy to give you more small bottles or refill the larger bottles of shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. The bed was king size, but like every Park Hyatt it felt like a California King. Very comfortable and easy to sleep. No complaints about the room whatsoever. The service at this hotel was top notch and it should be being that this is the flagship Park Hyatt. They remembered your name and addressed you by name, which surprisingly a lot of high level hotels do not. Breakfast was served at NoMi, starting at 6:30am and with our status we each had a $50 credit so $100 total for the check, not including taxes and tip so if you have the free breakfast credit, spend all $100 as it won't cover your taxes. However, at NoMi it was pretty simple to spend $100. As always, I will note if you don't have the free breakfast credit, go somewhere else as it wasn't worth $100. However, the service at NoMi was great. We had an early flight out and they were kind enough to open up a few minutes early to make us coffee and a smoothie for our ride back to O'Hare. With that said, there were a few flaws to the hotel and that was mostly in the common areas. In NoMi, it was pretty clear the tables were the original and wasn't replaced in the renovation. The inside of the elevator was the same as the wood paneling was dated and showed its age. Also, the room had two wonderful rainfall shower heads that were fantastic except for the carbon build up which made the flow really uneven. A couple of the jets didn't actually have water coming out until I cleaned it myself. These are just little things, but often it's those little things that separates a good hotel from a great hotel and I hope that the Park Hyatt can correct. This is a fantastic property, situated right at the corner of Chicago Avenue and Michigan Avenue with unobstructed views of Lake Michigan and the Water Tower. It's a great location for the winter holidays and it's walking distance to almost everything in the city and definitely worthy of the Park Hyatt name. read more

The Park Hyatt is located in probably the most scenic area of Chicago with spectacular views of water tower, the lake and sparkling winter tree lights. The rooms are gorgeous and hard to believe they will be going through a 6 month renovation of the accommodations... I don't how how they could make it any better. I usually don't sleep well in hotels, at least the first night, but the bed and pillows were so comfortable I had a hard time rising in the morning. The only reason for not giving 5 stars is that they had wifi problems and I couldn't connect even after several calls to the front desk. read more

I enjoy it here but it's also not my favorite. The guy checking us in was a little wooden and some of the staff were not the friendliest and the big problem is the price. So, first and foremost, I need you all to know that a pug lives here. YES, an adorable precious pug, Parker, is not only a resident of this hotel, but a mascot and has stuffed animals made in its likeness. Pugs are my favorite dog, so I was sure to love this place solely on the premise of an in-house pet. I stayed here for a work event, with my organization, so they selected the accommodations and I was pleasantly surprised! My room was a corner room on the 14th floor. It was way larger than I expected it to be with a large hallway, and a bathroom bigger than my guest bedroom in my apartment. The decor seemed a bit outdated, but still relatively modern. The hotels is located right in Chicago's historic Water Tower and within perfect proximity to the "magnificent mile" of Chicago, close to so much luxe shopping, restaurants, and even a walgreens. Furthermore, staff was friendly and accommodating. I utilized the board room for 2 days worth of meetings and the catering was fantastic, with high quality entrees that were well beyond basic fair (i.e.: fried yuca with "mojo sauce" for lunch!). I live in Chicago, so it is unlikely that I'll be back, but this Hyatt is easily someplace I will recommend to visitors, and some place that was fun to visit in my own city :) read more

After a year I still haven't received my breakfast refunded. I am Globalist and they still charged me full price. When I ordered a breakfast there was no limit on how much I am ordering and upon checking the bill they didn't take anything out. I found out later $45 is max per person. And because I only checked in as 1 person they wanted to only take out $45 per day per person on the invoice. And I am not suppose to have breakfast room service when they told me I could. I sent probably over 10 email and fax but there still is no communication on my refund and it's very disappointing to say the least. I have been very patient but then they could careless. Let's see if this review will help bring this to closure. Update: Amy Miller is person in charge. She has decided to keep the money which belongs to me (few hundred dollars) and since it's been over a year there isn't much I can do. I will now open a case with BBB and leave more more neg review with other outlets so that customers will understand what they are getting into at this hotel. read more

She was super helpful about getting around, tips on booking a cruise, and a surprise upgrade for a minor room issue out of anyone's control. Tony and the rest of the bar staff were super attentive and friendly. Charlotte at the bar area concerierge as well as everyone else there were so nice. I wish I stayed longer and will def come again. Oh the pool and hot tub and sauna were amazing! I'll admit, was a bit hesitant on what review to provide within our initial few hours at this location. It wasn't that the service or the rooms or the views or the location wasn't good, it just wasn't great. That all began to change as our stay progressed. Service is an A+ here, with the staff outside of the hotel being particularly memorable and helpful. The interior of the rooms are slightly outdated and need a fresh coat of paint and carpet changes. But other than that, everything was very good. This is an amazing location, right in the heart of Chicago, you have direct access to all the tourist and shopping locations. The hotel provides complimentary bike access if you would like to explore that way. Amenities are top-notch, even having toothbrush and toothpaste ready within the room if you forgot yours. Again, it's the small things when staying at these hotels. The bed's are very comfortable and they provide blackout shades which are controlled by devices on the sides of the bed. The views are amazing and you can opt for lake or city views. Beware, if you do bring a car, parking at the hotel is a steep $72 per day. There is a parking station about a block away that goes for $46 per 10-24 hours. I'd recommend not bringing a car unless you are traveling outside of the city limits. Overall, a very nice hotel, great amenities, and very good service! read more

I had the pleasure of staying at the Park Hyatt this weekend. This establishment is such a gem. I'm so glad i made this choice, it met all of my needs and exceeded them, as well. 1. The location of this hotel is outstanding. It's on Michigan Ave. near all of upscale and midlevel shopping, as well as so many food choices from fine dining to fast food. 2. Staff here are consummate professionals. Every one you encounter is extremely pleasant. The valet, the doorman, the concierge, the front desk, the room staff, I can't begin to sing their praises enough. A good staff is the first sign of efficient management. It appears their work culture is such that everyone performs their job and gives 120% while doing so. I applaud upper management, leadership is a top down affect, you can tell the hospitality begins and the top and works down to the customer. I never saw a sour face or heard a curt word. This staff is impeccable. 3. I had a room with a Water Tower view. The room was clean, modern, and very spacious. The bedding was comfortable and neatly presented. The bathroom was expansive and had 3 components: counter space with 2 faucets, a separate room with the commode, and shower and tub combination room, which was very large. Multiple people could be in the space all at one time. 4. Lastly, the lobby was modern inviting. A guest could read quietly, look out the windows, or just gather their thoughts. It was quiet and accommodating. I appreciate everything this hotel offers. I'll certainly be back. The location, staff, service, and rooms make this a true 4Star experience. Incredible hotel in a great location. Clean, sleek, decor was on point. I usually always find something I don't find cleanly enough but not this room. Toilet was a Toto, the shower rainfall bathtub was so nice and felt so luxurious. They even provide bath salts! I soaked in the tub after walking around the city in the humidity and heat. The doormen were all so friendly and nice. The only thing I didn't like was a front desk person and one of the housekeeping techs. She had a bad attitude when she brought up an item I had requested. The other thing is you can hear all the outside noise which is LOUD. Police vehicles, ambulances, people blasting music from their car... but given this is the city it's to be expected so I adjusted by using ear plugs at night. After days of men pounding hammers on my house from dawn until dusk and then getting caught in a towel by a construction worker, this girl had had quite enough! I needed peace and quiet. No hammers. No noise. No changing in the laundry room only to find a hammer wielding man in the window! And with the Chicago Ritz under construction (more hammering?!!), that was an emphatic NO. Onto the Park Hyatt. Booked a king and a tub. And that tub did not disappoint. --It was huge. This room didn't have a view, but it did have its own private patio. I preferred the patio to the view anyway. I loved the sleek bathrooms, which far surpassed the Ritz' rather bland (but still classy) bathrooms. But beyond the bathroom, the room itself somehow felt "Fancy Utilitarian" --a title I've never used before. They were halfway to sleek, but didn't quite reach it. Basic and kind of sterile. They were void of details such as grass cloth wallpaper or patterned carpeting. Void of ultra sleek furnishings. They were definitely nice. Comfortable beds and pillows. Just still... oddly "Meh" for a luxury hotel. It was A-OK, but I would not stay here again. Not even for the temptation of the beautiful tub and the private patio. The staff was void of personality; they were unapologetic about their screw up when they first gave me a "double beds" room and no bathtub, and the rooms just not luxury enough for the price tag. The Park Hyatt Chicago is conveniently located in the Magnificent Mile area, which is close to many shops and restaurants. The lobby is minimalist elegant, which is true of many Park Hyatt's. There is also a small library next to the lobby, which was mostly empty the entire time. We arrived after a red eye flight and made it to the hotel about 8:00 AM. I was not expecting the hotel to have a room ready at that time, particularly since I had used a Diamond Suite Upgrade. Much to my surprise and delight, our room was ready at that time. We were assigned room 1407, an Executive Suite. Upon entering the room, the living room was large and spacious. There was a dining room table, which contained a welcome amenity of macarons and other sweets. There was a sofa along with sitting chair and a coffee table. There was a large flat screen TV. The view from the room was fantastic and overlooked the water tower. Along the left side of the entryway, was a long hallway which contained a cabinet with coffee maker and the guest bathroom. The bedroom included a very comfortable king sized bed. There was a lounge chair by the window and a flat screen TV in the corner. The closet contained amenities including toothbrushes and toothpaste. The master bathroom was large and contained double sinks. There is a small vanity area. The bathtub was large and deep, perfect for soaking. There is a separate shower with incredible water pressure. It felt like a swarm of bees were attacking you. Breakfast could either be had in NoMi restaurant or through room service. We had breakfast in the restaurant on the first day. The Eggs Benedict were perfectly prepared, while the over medium eggs were also well cooked. We ordered breakfast through room service on the second day. Once again, the Eggs Benedict was perfectly cooked. The scrambled eggs were also cooked well. Our overall stay at the Park Hyatt Chicago was fantastic. Being able to check-in super early was a huge plus. The room was very comfortable with lots of room. The hotel staff were friendly, professional and helpful. I would definitely consider staying at the Park Hyatt Chicago again in the future. read more

We spent 3 nights here for our Chicago stay. Hotel is amazing!! Five star hotel with four star service. The location is perfect when staying in downtown Chicago. This hotel offers everything you need to have relaxing time. Visited the pool one evening. Had it to ourselves. Nice pool and small jacuzzi. Locker room has steam room and sauna. The workout room very impressive! We didn't have time to workout, but if we did I definitely would try it! Head down just to grab refreshing fruit/herb infused water. Spa looked nice too! Rooms were spacious and bathroom had beautiful sunken tub and separate shower area. Automatic black out shades makes it easy to let in sunlight I the morning or when it's time for bed. Bed was super comfy with lots of pillows. Slept like a rock it was so quite. Never heard or saw a neighbor on our floor 16th Hotel staff was friendly, but not out of the way friendly or helpful. Door men were always out in front and would say hello. At times they would open the automatic door for us. We ate one night at the very posh and pricey NoMi. Awesome view of the Water Tower at night. So pretty and romantic. Food was good as you'd expect at a fine dining location. Very small potion of salmon. Maybe 4 oz? So order sides. We had the squash. Very tasty. read more
