I phoned Park Place on Wednesday Afternoon in an absolute panic regarding service to replace our battery for our Acura MDX and spoke with Susan in the Service Department. She immediately honed in on my sense of urgency and worked us into their already fully booked schedule. She informed us upfront that we would be waiting a while, which we were completely fine with. We were fortunate that my Mom and I just had lunch and the restaurant owners were so kind as to give us a boost out of the parking lot so we could actually get to the dealership. Grateful to them for getting us going and to everyone here in the Service Department that we were able to be accommodated. Our usual service tech (John Thomas) is currently on vacation so our ticket was initiated with James Key. We have met before so he recognized us upon our arrival. He was very clear and thorough, kept us informed throughout our visit, and identified three items that needed immediate attention - the timing belt, the dead battery, and brake fluid flush. They were able to complete two of the three items (due to a parts order for the timing belt) and returned for the installation this morning. I am glad the battery died on Wednesday since we are going out of the country for two weeks starting tomorrow. Every service technician that we have encountered over the years (been customers at the original David McDavid since 2001 and have an Acura MDX of the same year) has been professional and knowledgeable. James had the shuttle driver give us a ride home, called me when the vehicle was ready, and sent a text for a Lyft ride to our house to pick us up. Door-to-door service is convenient and worry-free. I forgot to get his name, but one of the gentleman there (who recommended a portable jumpstarter which we purchased online) showed us how exactly to use it by opening the hood and demonstrating it. I appreciated that, because I know there is a potential to seriously injure yourself if not done correctly. It is my sincere hope that John, James, and the gentleman whose name I cannot recall stick around because they greet you with a smile, keep you updated on the progress of the service of your vehicle, and make you feel like Family. We will continue to bring our vehicle to Park Place Acura for our future servicing needs. read more

Typically my reviews for dealerships are poor at best. John T exceeded my expectations. Let me paint the picture for you. My car died in the after school parking lot with my little in tow. A Good Samaritan jump started it for us. We arrived well after 6pm and the service department was closed. I knocked, and of all of those left in the dept he was the only one who acknowledged, responded, unlocked and listened. He got me in the system and huge bonus, got me a loaner car since the shuttle had stopped running. This is what a star employee looks like who will give you return customers. read more

Don't try to order parts from them. You will wait forever! I work at a collision repair facility, and order parts that never end up arriving. As a repair facility manager I expect quick delivery so we can repair our customers vehicle in a timely manner. Park Place Acura doesn't even have their own delivery trucks! They depend on the Lexus dealership to deliver their parts. So they have to wait until Lexus delivers all their parts before any Acura parts are delivered. I've tried calling their parts manager, but he never returns calls. I don't like giving negative reviews, but feel people need to know, or nothing will ever be fixed over there. read more

I got my RDX serviced at Park Place. I was able to book the reservation online very easily. Since I was having warranty work performed, I called a week in advance to request a complimentary loaner car. My appointment was at 8AM, and they had 2 other vehicles in the service lane. Tanvir was my service advisor. He was very knowledgeable and easy to work with. Somehow their reservations system didn't pull any of the information from the reservation, but they got it all taken care of. They gave me a 2023 MDX as a loaner for the day. My car was ready for pickup after work. I thought the pricing was fair, and the facility was very clean. I would absolutely come back based on this experience. read more

I wish they could teach their employees how to answer the phone. Second time I have tried to schedule service, and you simply cannot talk to anyone. I was left on hold for over 10 minutes, 3 times in about an hour, and then moved to another line for another 10. A chatbox request for a call back resulted in another robot contacting me telling me to contact the dealership if I needed assistance. LOL. Many service people just standing around everytime I go there, so someone should be able to answer the phone and get a customer scheduled, questions answered. We did buy from there after all. Maybe look at installing a callback system? Seems to work with others. Went to another dealership where they answered within 3 rings and got me scheduled within 5 minutes. It gives me hope. Formerly David McDavid, now park place Acura. This is what I sent to Acura relations and called them, and they didn't seem at all concerned. I have an Acura ILX 2018. I took it to an Acura dealership in Plano, David McDavid in June of this year. There is no service ticket because the service advisor did not recognize it as an issue and dismissed me and sent me home. Fast forward to 10/2022, I called and got in this Thursday 10/27/2022 and was told my warranty had expired. Service advisor Javier said he would work with me. He got in the car and recognized the vibration and how the car shakes when it is stopped. He said leave it here and we will get it looked at and send you home in a loaner. He called me later that day and said that it was much better now, his words. Not fixed, better!!!! You can come pick it up today. I drive back to pick it up. Got papers from what they did with another customers paperwork on it. I kept the copies. There was one piece of paper that stated completed mount neutralization procedure and rechecked. On the way home, it started vibrating again. I quickly called back and spoke to Javier and he told me that Robert the shop lead, adjuster the mounts or neutralized them. This morning 10/28/2022, the car was in reverse, and the rattling/shaking was way worse than before. I called right away and was told to bring it back. Javier and Robert both got in car with me and said they could put it back the way it was before and that there is no fix from ACURA on these rough idle engine mounts and there was nothing more they could do for me. I felt very confused. My car is not fixable, and it is a known problem of Acura. Then shouldn't there be a recall? They said there was nothing more they could do. Javier had Michael Hays, store mgr., call me and he said the same thing. There is no fix from ACURA on these and encouraged me to call client relations. He gave me the wrong phone number 877 286 7071, which is some points reward number. I would think the manager would know the number to client relations. I told him your people told me it was much better. No, it isn't and it's not a fix, it's a band aid. I equate this getting a cut that needs 6 stitches and you only get 4 but are told it's better than before... This is serious to me, and totally unacceptable from ACURA, I've had six or more Acuras and never had this happen. I was even told smaller cars are like this. No, no they are not. All my Acura's were small, ILX, TSX and none did this. This is a useless and inexcusable answer to give someone. What can you do to resolve this? This seems like a very serious safety issue. While waiting for my car to complete service, some customer needed help from parts. He was told to ring the doorbell. After three rings, and no response, he went back to the service writers and told them no one is coming. They sent him back to the counter again, and he rang the bell again, and still no one. Ridiculous. The service writer should have gotten up and gone to find out where the heck the staff running the parts desk were. You don't make your customer just stand there for 20 minutes! There service sucks every time I get service done here it's always something wrong from missing trim clips, forgetting to reset the oil life, over tightening the drain bolt, adding to much oil to the engine, losing the washer fluid filter 2 times, losing the washer fluid cap, missing tire caps. The service team has no idea what there doing nor they care. Bring your car here is more of a headache because there is always something wrong and you end up going back to get it fixed. read more

Park Place Acura Service Department lost my trust. I took my vehicle in for oil change service in May, at which time inspection was about to expire. The multi-point inspection identified one tire tread was low, as well as various other repairs suggested. One problem identified was an oil valve leak. In the interest of time, I decided to bring my car back at a later date for a new tire, state inspection, and the most pertinent issue--the oil valve leak. The advisor stated the oil valve leak would require 1-2 days and a loaner could be offered; which is appreciated. I drive minimal mileage, but had a lengthy road trip set in July so 5 days prior to departure I called and asked to speak to the previous advisor specifically, since he gave me his card. I told him I wanted to proceed with the oil valve leak fix, replace 2 tires (the low tread and second lowest tread), complete state inspection, and purchase a touch up paint bottle (I mentioned this because I was not sure if it was in stock or could be ordered to be ready when serviced). During the call, I also asked what the next pertinent issue previously identified was; he indicated it was timing belt package. I decided to go ahead and complete that as well. I brought the car in on Tuesday and no issues with drop-off or getting loaner. Advisor indicated car would be ready Thursday. Wednesday around 3:30pm I get a text saying "Your vehicle is ready for pickup!" Since I was finishing up my workday, I simply replied I would come tomorrow. No response. The next day, I called on the way to the dealership to double check the car was ready since the text was unlike any previous experience (no multi-point inspection/menu of services recommended offered) and I did not want to drive all the way to the dealership to find out it was not totally ready. The lady who took the call said the car was ready. I arrive to find that my service advisor was not there, but no problem, another advisor would check me out. He verbally reviews the items completed and I asked "and state inspection, correct?" He said no, I don't see that. He indicated I could get it done, but it would be 1 to 1.5 hr wait. I was frustrated - I thought this would be a quick pick up. He then hands me the paperwork with the multi-point inspection printout. I found it very odd several things were marked as items needing attention, including my low-tread tire; however, the two big-ticket items (oil valve leak and timing belt package) were not marked as deficient in the multi-point inspection. I asked why those weren't identified on the list and he had no clue and said he could not access the files. It was odd to me why an expired registration was not identified on the multi-point inspection either (it was marked N/A); something that would prompt a follow-up to customer. I paid the bill but also asked to speak with a manager. First, we spoke about the failure to complete the inspection - he offered to have that completed with expedited service. I asked if the multi-point inspection was completed prior to my scheduled repairs; he told me he could not tell. Strange, I would think when the technician using the computer to log the inspection or repairs it would be timestamped. I explained to him that my concern is that I just paid for two large repairs that I am not even confident were deficient during this assessment. He spoke with the technician but it was never clear if his procedure was to not assess the items scheduled for repair or when it was completed. The vagueness and lack of concern was really disheartening and was really disappointing to hear from a dealership service center. I took up the offer on the expedited car inspection; after 10-15 minutes, the manager returned to say unfortunately the inspection cannot be completed because in the course of the other repairs, the computer system reset the logs and the car would have to be driven roughly 60 miles before retesting - could I bring it back? Uggghhh. So, after spending thousands of dollars at this dealership, I am walked out to my car with complete dissatisfaction and lack of trust for Park Place Acura Service Department. The manager seemed to want to place blame on an unseasoned staff - that he had been here 6 months but was with another Park Place brand previous and he was trying to get this "team into shape." Distressed about the issues, I later realized I also never got the touch-up paint or was directed how/where to purchase at the dealership--this is minor, but again, an omission from the order. A few days later, I received the text survey asking rating, 1-10; 10 being excellent. I replied 3. No follow up. I have been a loyal Acura buyer (this is my 3rd) and have regularly used dealership repair. I will definitely not be using Park Place Acura Service Department in the future. In my opinion, Park Place Acura Service Department is not competent nor trustworthy. Park Place Acura Service Department is not interested in customer satisfaction. read more

Called for service repair scheduled a repair showed up and asked for person they told me to ask for. Told me I had to leave car there asked for loaner they told me didn't have any asked why they didn't tell me in advance of need to leave car for two days had no answer. This was follow up from failed recall so you would have thought they knew what was going to happen with repair. Would like to give zero stars like other reviewers. No one answers phone. Long hold times, sometimes reaching 20 minutes. Often get call center, not service department, who can't help. Continually sent to the voicemail of a service manager who unbeknownst to me quit weeks prior. Phone calls not returned by other service department members. Stood by my car in bay for 30 minutes past my first appointment time to even be greeted. Then, had to redo entire warranty appointment b/c quitting manager didn't file my paperwork. Gave me a rental with muddy paw prints and dog slobber all over car. Poor customer service with no accountability for it. read more

Purchased an Acura TLX when they were called "David McDavid Acura" when I bought my Acura 3 days into driving it all of the lights on the dashboard came on, I called and brought it back up there to have them look at it 30 minutes later they came out and said "all fixed" all of the lights were gone "magically" I assumed they threw in some codes to get it to turn off the lights, a day later my car was jerking nonstop and when I would hit the gas I would fly forward as if I just floored the gas, i explained what happened to them a week later I got my car back, that same day instead of it flying me forward it would decrease my speed and jerk at 30mph I did let them know I felt very unsafe driving my vehicle with my 2 year old in the car and they told me it was missing a fuel pump filter. The filter wouldn't come until next year February it was October at the time so I went months driving my car with this issue and repeated my concerns to the dealership and the service department. I finally got the part February and my car still ran the same exact way it use to. Two months later I received a letter in the mail stating there was a recall on my cars engine, I called up there and asked about the recall and they told me there was no recall. Two months after that I was sent another letter in the mail saying I have a recall so I called and they said yes there is nothing they can do because they "don't know how to fix the issue and don't have the parts to replace anything" I told her I DO NOT FEEL SAFE MY CAR IS GETTING WORSE but I kept being pushed off and told they will contact me soon when they figure it everything out. Basically I was sold a car that had several re-calls several issues all because they wanted to make a quick sell. I didn't want to make this review but I am running out of options to get my voice heard. I am stuck with a car that will eventually go out sooner than later.
