Western Omelet with Cheese
Emi M.

I was in town for just a day, I'm from Indianapolis and I got sooo lucky to find this gem!! I wasn't going to be in this area, but on my way to Detroit I had to stop at a tire shop near here ... then I found this place and tried it for lunch. First off this place looks modest from the outside... and their pieces are also modest. You cannot find a place nowadays where you can have breakfast/brunch and a soft drink for under $10. Ii loved my western omelette. There was only one person in the kitchen so the food was not fast, but it was so worth the wait. Service was friendly and nice too. I highly recommend! The place seemed to be filled with lots of regulars too. I can tell this is a local favorite.

Very good food, more than reasonable prices, service with a smile. Solid place, nothing to look at but clean and efficient.

This rock 'n roll themed diner is a downriver favorite for breakfast. The food is consistently…read moregood, even if the same order isn't always exactly the same. For example, I get the "Hearty" breakfast most of the time and it comes with eggs, meat, pancakes, potatoes and toast, and it really highlights what is this place's strength. Eggs: I get mine scrambled and have a nice selection of hot sauce to choose from. Meat: I appreciate that they offer turkey sausage since I don't eat beef or pork, but my wife loves their bacon if that's your thing. Pancakes: quality varies the most here as they are sometimes a little pale (but still good) but more often the idyllic golden one expects when ordering. Potatoes: lots of variety here, too, as my home fries come in different sized cuts with seasoning ranging from none to "no need for salt or pepper?" Toast: Again, wide variety of choices, I go with sourdough most often If this sounds like a lot of food, there are lots of other options that make it appealing to smaller appetites. But what I like about the "Hearty" is all the choices and the variation in style (probably depends on who's staffing the griddle) allows me to order the same meal and still feel like I'm getting some variety. Having said that, keep an eye out for the specials. They sometimes are tempting enough to get me to stray from usual. In addition to good food, the service is always friendly, and we've been back enough times to where I think every server recognizes us. Like I said, it's a favorite.

Ate here for the first time last week. There at lunch time. Service was good, food was excellent,…read morebut it was too noisy for us. There were 2 tables that were a little louder than usual, but even when they left, it was still too noisy. Appears to be no sound deadening in the ceiling. This makes us reluctant to dine here again. When you can't hear the person sitting 2-3' away from you, at the same table, it is NOT a good thing.

The lady behind the counter was nice! The dogs, were delicious! They use a regular non cased hot dog here, so no snap, but the texture was still enjoyable. They pile on the chili and mustard and onions here. Probably the heaviest coney dogs I had all trip. After I was done, I still had a couple forkfuls of chili and onions to scoop up. Super messy, just like all the others. Also.....why do all the coney dog places in Detroit use shitty paper thin napkins? You need to use like 20. All good though, worth it! I can definitely see why Bourdain loved this place. Old school, and delicious!

I get home look in the box and the omelette was slopped together and burned very little yellow showing the has browns were soggy salad looked like scraps and no they did not give me 2 end pieces of toast being that it came from duly i still taste the food not good at all so it was a win for my dog.
