I ordered the lobster roll for lunch with the fries both tasted amazing you get enough lobster it is on Texas toast with butter price was $18 french fries with seasoned perfectly not too salty not too greasy I will definitely be ordering this again I do think $18 for lunch is a little expensive I would say probably about $14 would be a better price for this, but I will not complain because I love lobster and lobster rolls are hard to find in El Paso so I am willing to keep paying for it. read more

This place was great. My boyfriend and I loved the food. The entree I had was the chicken piccata, and my boyfriend had the Quince Bacon Burger. We enjoyed every bite. Our entrees came with a side salad, which consisted of arugula and tomatoes, and being that I am allergic to arugula they were happy to substitute it for ice burg lettuce (they would've substituted with romaine lettuce, but our server informed us about the e.coli outbreak.) When city officials envision downtown revitalization, Park Tavern is what they see when they close their eyes. A locally owned business, that expertly refurbishes an existing downtown building. Even better, they did so in a high traffic area next to San Jacinto Plaza. When walking into Park Tavern, my first thought was how well done the interior is. While it isn't as frilly or fufu as Cafe Central, it's incredibly tasteful and nice. It gives off a somewhat industrial vibe with red brick accent walls and large overhanging vents. To be honest it fits in perfectly with downtown El Paso. The menu and food is really where Park Tavern shines. Our table started with hummus, which although a fairly common appetizer, tasted fantastic and is great for pleasing everyone at the table. It came with a generous portions of cucumber, carrots, and pita for dipping, and when we still had a little dip left over, they brought us some more pita without us having to ask. As for main dishes, Park Tavern has a nice selection of entrees and sandwiches. The sandwich selection in particular is great. Nothing too fancy, but definite crowd pleasers like the french dip or ahi tuna sandwich. One member of our table had the ahi sandwich and said it was fantastic. I snuck some fries and they were great (thick cut and seasoned). Being my first time here, I didn't want to mess around, and decided to go with what seems like a signature dish on their menu...the Elk Tenderloin. It didn't disappoint. Served over a large bed of white beans, and accompanied with cashew grilled green beans, this is a dish I will keep coming back for. The elk didn't have a gamey flavor one might expect it to have, it was tender, flavorful perfection, and the green beans were without a doubt the best green beans I've ever had. If this dish peaks your curiosity, get it, it's probably the only place in town you'll be able to. Other members of our party had various sandwiches or other entrees, and everyone seemed incredibly content with their meal. For dessert we had a scoop of ice cream that was placed in a churro bowl, which was to die for. Churro themed dessert seems to be all the rage lately, and Park Tavern wins for having the best churro dessert hands down. Get this and you won't be disappointed. Overall, Park Tavern is a winner. The environment, the bar, the food, and the staff were all fantastic. The prices are great too. I don't recall a single entree costing over $30 (including steaks with sides), and most of the sandwiches were priced near $12. While the menu isn't anything that will blow your socks off, what they do, they do very well, and it is a very welcome addition Downtown El Paso. TRY IT! read more

Oh my goodness what a great place in downtown El Paso. We came to El Paso from San Antonio and stayed at the Double Tree. We found this restaurant and decided to try it out. The service was great and the food was excellant. We started out with the meat and cheeseboard, which had so much to choose from. Than we ordered the hamburger with apricots. This has to be the best burger I have ever had. Maybe we will get lucky and have this restaurant open in San Antonio! read more

Based on positive reviews, I was disappointed, the food was at best very marginal. Our server was awesome, very friendly. The only reason, we ate at this restaurant is its proximity with Cezar Chavez theater. There are other restaurants that serve better food, with the same cost. read more

I've dined at Park Tavern about 4 times now and just adore the ambiance and the friendly staff. Their happy hour drinks are pretty good and the food is exceptionally well prepared as well. The shishito peppers and mussels are my absolute favorite. They have outside seating with misting fans overhead, which is a nice touch on a nice day. read more

This is one of my favorite places to go in El Paso. I have to eat gluten-free, and, while not obvious on the menu, there are a LOT of options! The menu changes occasionally, so you just have to talk to the servers. I have ordered the bronzino twice now. It is a whole fish that is fried. Super delicious. My husband (non celiac) enjoys the beer selection and has had the rib eye and elk tenderloin. read more

The positive reviews are right, the negative reviews are wrong. This is 5-star dining in a casual setting. We started with the Duck Tostones which were awesome. A side of hot sauce that let each of us control the heat. We had Elk, Lamb, and Salmon for the main courses with each better than the next. Although it had just rained , we decided it was nice enough to sit on the patio and we enjoyed the outdoors. It did not interfere with the quality of service, although we did seem to have about 3 different servers wait on us. We just wanted something small and each ordered the green chili chicken pozole. It seemed small when they brought it but it was quite filling and absolutely delicious. Just spicy enough without being overly so. We simply had a beer with it and nothing special. Have eaten at Park Tavern numerous times over the last few years--until now has been one of my favorite "go to" restaurants in El Paso. But no longer. To start with the good: our server, Juan, was outstanding: pleasant, great service, frequently checked to see how we were doing, but not overbearing either. The food: not as good as in the past. My wife had the chicken sandwich which she said was excellent. However, I had the Cubano sandwich and it was not very good: meat was dry and not very flavorful. Everything was served hot however. My biggest complaint however is that management now adds a 3.5% surcharge if you use a credit card to pay. I think that is petty and over the top. Accepting credit cards is a part of doing business and adding a surcharge to use one is "nickel-diming" and I consider it inappropriate for an upscale restaurant. As long as Park Tavern continues to add the credit card surcharge I will not eat there again. read more

Great experience. Superb service! I have a bad olive / olive oil allergy, and they went above and beyond. We were from out of town and didn't know, but apparently most of the menu has olive oil. They double checked everything that was ordered and pretty much had to work around each item ordered. Great atmosphere, extremely clean, delicious food. Went in for the first time ready for the elk tenderloin. Definitely was impressed by the design and style of the dinning area but felt a little let down by portion size of the elk. The bed of white beans were unfortunately undercooked and too firm to eat so I left them on the plate, I let the bar tender know about the issue. He told me he'd let the cooks/chefs know but kinda just left it at that. Only a few pieces of the portion of elk were cooked medium as requested. The meat was well seasoned and had good flavor. On a brighter note my friend ordered the lamb chops which I got a taste of and they were pretty spectacular. read more

My wife and I went to Park Tavern for our anniversary. We enjoyed the atmosphere. It is nice to see good establishments downtown. We had the best and cheese platter for starters. It was very good and worth the price. Nice variety of meats and cheeses along with berries and nuts. The plate was filling so we split a lobster roll and crabcakes. Both were delicious. The lobster roll had plenty of meat as did the crabcakes. The only downer was that the menu on Yelp is not their current menu. Prices are different and some items like the pork chop are no longer served. I picked this place for the chop. We did advise our wait person of the discrepancy. I still recommend. read more

Came here for my birthday and ordered the elk steak I believe it was called. It did not disappoint at all. My friends and I had cocktails and they were on point! The seating we received was towards the back of the restaurant so we didn't get to experience it all but walking through it you could feel the great vibe and atmosphere here. Definitely a great place to celebrate something special or go on a date you would like to impress. My friends tried their ribeye and I had a bite of it which was splendid! My husband and I went here for a dinner party. Upon arriving, the place is very pretty. The waiters were very attentive. They were a little slow with getting us our drinks, but when they arrived they were worth it. I wasn't impressed with my mojito however. The tavern mule was very good. I ordered the half chicken which was decent, but not very impressed considering it portrays itself as a "high end "restaurant . This place is great! Best food I've had in El Paso. I really loved it. The table shared the mussels and crab cakes and both were excellent! The mussels were my favorite they were served is a great reduction I will get them again next time I visit. I also had a Ceasar salad with shrimp, it was very good.
