Outstanding meal, fabulous service, great ambiance. Came here the Monday after Christmas and they were slammed (a good sign). Had about an hour wait but it was well worth it. Started with the duck tostones...so tasty and the salsa served with it was fantastic. Main dishes included elk tenderloin & scallops. Both were cooked to perfection and just outstanding. The pine nut rice served with the scallops was a really nice touch. The sauce served on the green beans with the elk was delicious. The whole meal was a knockout. Drinks were tasty - they even have Balcones Single Malt whiskey. One of my favorites ans the first time I've seen that on any menu. Well done. Lastly, the service was outstanding. The hostess, Willa, was kind and patient, keeping the crowd informed and answering all questions with a smile. Our server, Sydney, was prompt, and checked on us without being intrusive. And all the while, it was incredibly busy and every person working there was friendly and professional. A truly great front of the house. Hats off to the Park Tavern for a great meal. Came here after work with some colleagues. We were pretty hungry so we went with 3 appetizers. We got the duck tostones, calamari, and spinach artichoke dip. All of those were very solid, and I particularly enjoyed the calamari. For the tostones, the duck was well seasoned. 3 of us ordered the rack of lamb. I would recommend getting them medium as the medium rare was a little more rare than I wanted. The Brussels sprouts were great and well seasoned. Will definitely be coming back! read more

Believe it or not, this is my very first review that I have ever submitted. Feeling really compiled though. My wife and I talking a weekend break travelled four hours for a weekend get away. Looked at Yelp for a special dinner spot downtown El Paso. After a careful search we landed on Park Tavern. The host tried sitting us right in the middle of the entrance path between bar and dining area on a table without a table cloth. Henceforth the name "Tavern". The menu came with steakhouse prices and sides, add ons , etc. so I was thinking an upscale dining in a tavern, but let's try. I ordered the rib eye $47 and my wife ordered halibut $40 and we ordered the extra sides. I even asked about dessert in advance to strategize my entree intake. The rib eye was a very lean NY and her halibut was "tiny" and way over cooked. Incredibly disappointed I did not order dessert to save myself further disappointment. The owner/manager made himself "noticeable" I really wanted to talk with him about my experience but hopefully he'll get this honest but really bad review. All you gotta do is put a little effort and offer the cuts of meat on your menu and it would go a long way. Your waitstaff and customers deserve more!! read more

Awesome! We came here for dinner as a group of 4 from out of state. Quickly seated and about half empty on a Wednesday night. Our waiter was very nice and he had great suggestions. Our group mostly just ordered a bunch of appetizers and desserts. The fries were awesome and the bread pudding was one of the best! Y'all sooo delicious! Another day I tried the chicken piccata, it lacked flavor. For dessert we tried the bread pudding and it was literally perfection and the churro sundae was good but I enjoyed the bread pudding more. Ambiance: 5/5. The Park Tavern is a great spot downtown for drinks and dinner. I went during COVID while passing through town and was very impressed with all the precautions they were taking. They truly care about their guests and their health, which was reassuring. Luz, the Manager, goes over the top making sure each table is satisfied. I observed her walk to every table and engage in conversation to make sure all patrons were satisfied with their orders. Truly A+ people leadership, she was always in the trenches with her staff. Kaila was outstanding and may have provided best service I've ever received at a restaurant. Very attentive and made great recommendations. I ended up ordering the Rack of Lamb and the Lobster Roll to go. Strongly recommend for those visiting, if they are available. Overall, Park Tavern gets a 10/10. They are doing things the right way during COVID while also providing world class service and food. Next time I am in El Paso, I will definitely be back. read more

What a fun atmosphere! Booths had an antique intimate feel to them, lighting is soft, and music sets a very chill tone. We ordered the crab cakes $15, Reuben $17, and French dip sandwich $18 with macaroni and cheese and sweet potatoes fries with side salads. The crab cakes were tasty and the green chili aeoli was yummy, but needed more green chili. For its price, we thought we'd get a few, but only got 2. To be fair they were both large. The side salads were not good. I'm not sure what leaf they use but it was bitter, probably something classy, but not my thing. Reuben with sweet potatoes fries was delicious! Plenty of meat and couldn't get enough of the sweet potatoes fries. Highly recommend. French dip was average and the Mac and cheese was bland. Overall, it was a fun atmosphere, a little pricey, service was consistent, and mostly good food. Would recommend if you are looking for a fun place in downtown El Paso. read more

The ambiance was great especially during covid and a lock down. I was seated right away away from others. I ordered the elk steak which came with a salad and two sides. Great value! I got the steak medium and it came perfect. Only suggestion is plating, it didn't present well. I got a side Ceasar salad which was good but it had a bit too much dressing for my liking. I've enjoyed eating here a few times and loved it, but I found a few dishes that are so so: the French Dip cuts of meat are tough and thick. Asparagus could use some more spices and add a fee more to the side for $6. Dad's caesar salad had brown bits of lettuce. The mushroom side was waaaay too mushroomy tasting, bleh. Park tavern is one of my favorites to go to downtown. It is more pricey but definitely worth it. The cocktails are always really well made and the food is awesome. We ordered the Chilean sea bass and the burger. Both were great. I have also gotten the chicken piccata in the past and it is perfect when I'm craving a lemon pasta. The Chilean sea bass though was another level. It was incredible. Super thick cut with crispy outside and flaky on the inside. The sides paired so well with it too. I've forgotten our waitresses name, but she was extremely nice, polite, and gave her honest opinion about the food! The restaurant was quick to bring the dishes out, and made sure everything was good without hovering. I ordered the Salmon medium well and it was one of the best Salmon dishes I ever had! I also ordered the mash potatoes and macaroni. Both were great but the macaroni was a little hard. I went here when I came into town to visit family and was very impressed. The food was amazing and definitely a change from the usual Mexican food fare around El Paso. I had their version of the classic BLT. I was really surprised at how creative and refreshing their take on it was. They use actual pork belly in the sandwich along with fried green tomatoes and it was amazing. My friend had the peach burger which was another prized choice: We also split the churro sundae despite us being full from our meals. The dessert spoke for itself and was a great way to complete our lunch. As for the interior of the restaurant is very clean and is a little upscale but nothing over the top where you have to dress formal. The service from our waiter was outstanding and my glass of tea was always filled. Stopped by last week to celebrate my birthday with my girls and we had an amazing experience. The venue is lovely. I am a fan of how the mixed industrial with rustic. Clean with rough edges. The area is large enough in and out. Plenty of seating all over. At first we were not sure about the place. The prices are a little high - considering is El Paso. Now, once you peruse the menu you can tell this is no hole in the wall boxed potatoes kind of place. Real food with real ingredients. My kind of place. I am glad we ended up here. Between all of us we ordered salmon, half chicken, pasta, and burgers. Everything was perfect. The only complaint was the chicken being a little dry. We also had the tostones with duck. My, oh, my! I could've ordered two of those and called it a night. Bonus points for picking plantains that were between green and ripe, those are the best ones.
