I would not recommend, and I only do that when there is more than one reason. In this case? Dishonesty because doing the right thing was just too inconvenient. I had already accepted the outcome and indicated I wouldn't argue, because it wasn't worth the exchange (or the time, or the energy), but it certainly didn't feel like service is a priority. read more

We've been to Parker Garage 3 or 4 times. Most of the time it's very good. I came on a few weeks ago and ordered the Steak Salad. Boy, was I impressed. Nice genorous serving of perfectly cooked steak over a serving a fresh crispy salad, with a delicious dressing. I came in tonight, and ordered the Steak Salad again, really looking forward to it. Boy was I disappointed. Small portion of over cooked steak, over wilted lettuce. The dressing was still good. I asked our lovely server, what size the steak normally was on the salad, she says 6 ounces...which, I think for a dinner entree should be 8...but even so...it should have been prepared like an $18 dollar entree. It was hard to decide on 2 or three stars. There are redeeming features here, but not enough to raise our overall experience beyond the halfway mark. Maybe two and a half... The good: Came here when it was super busy on a Saturday night, and needed to eat something before the PACE show, so we were in a hurry. The hostess was very accommodating. She got one of the big bar tables cleared so we could sit right away and got a waiter to take our order right away. The decor is very nice. The hamburger was very good. (Unfortunately, it was the only thing we found edible and three of us ended up sharing it.) The bad and the ugly: First of all, it is very loud. If the music wasn't booming like a disco dance floor, the patrons wouldn't have to yell to be heard, and the overall feel would be a lot more pleasant. We ordered mostly appetizers so the food would be served quickly. We wanted calimari, but they were out of it. Ordered the crab cake. Big mistake. For $26 you would think there would be more than one... and it would be cooked to a solid cake. Think wet catfood--it looked like a big crab cake, but it was more like a tuna dip inside. The three of us all tried it, but no one could eat it. I ordered a salad with dressing on the side. It came swimming in dressing. My husband ordered the"New England clam chowder". Not at all sure why they call it that. There was no resemblance to any kind of clam chowder, especially New England. The meat in it seemed more like tiny shrimp than clams, and the broth was dark and more bisque-like, not creamy. No bread, no crackers. I am usually up for eating anything that tastes good, so I tried to eat it when my husband pushed it away. It reminded me of when our teenaged son first tried to cook. Lots of random spices that made it simply inedible. As we were in a hurry, we didn't bother to tell the waiter that we weren't happy, but he had to have noticed that three items we ordered were mostly left uneaten. Yet he never asked how we liked it, or offered to get us anything else. Luckily, my mom ordered a burger, which was large, so we ended up splitting it 3 ways. So we didn't starve, and we didn't overeat! The bill came to $90. Pretty pricey for a burger and a couple of bad appetizers. If the atmosphere was pleasant, I might consider going there for a burger and giving them another shot, but I don't like yelling over dance music during dinner, so we won't be back. If you're in the mood for a loud, swanky bar, this is your spot. The drinks are probably good. Not a dinner restaurant, in my opinion. read more

Poor service, Just went in to Parker Garage to have brunch, worst we've ever been treated. We were sat down in a table inside and nobody even bothered to acknowledge us. A party was sat after us and was even attended before us. When we asked for help the staff acted like they were surprised and was given a dirty look by the bartender, we had already been waiting 20 minutes. I'm always excited to try out new restaurants and Parker Garage was no exception. I went in on a Friday night and ordered the Smoked Salmon Two Ways which had hot and cold salmon with herb creme fraiche and capers. The presentation was great and it tasted so good! For our entree we shared a 32 oz rib eye with a roasted shallots -Madeira reduction. The steak was good however, it was $69 and it honestly wasn't a $69 steak. For dessert I had a goat cheese chocolate cheesecake. This was pretty good, not too rich or overly sweet. The food overall was good, but quite pricey. The decor was a little confusing. It was like walking in to a really loud sports bar and then there is a quieter dining area to the side. The service was a little slow, but the staff are very nice. read more

#1. We have NO idea how this place is not a 5-star across the board. IT.WAS.AMAZING! #2. Joe our server from Chicago was legit. He knew exactly how much time to linger before checking on us. #3. My wife had the salmon, I had the sea bass, both were absolutely exceptional. #5. Order the crab cake and brussel sprouts. Trust me, you will not be sorry. Lastly, if after all that deliciousness you have room, order the chocolate dessert with raspberries. I've been to this wonderful restaurant several times and have never been anything less than thrilled. I normally choose the smoked brussel sprouts for an appetizer and their special 19420 Mainstreet Pinot Noir, a Russian River Valley delight. But today we were there for brunch so I opted for something different. I had a mimosa, which had the perfect ratio of champagne to o.j., along with a chorizo hash, eggs and hollandaise sauce entree. I asked our server if the sauce was gluten free. She checked with the chef who confirmed it was - yay! This restaurant is very gluten free friendly. Hubby was yearning for a burger and was extremely satisfied with the Recovery Hamburger and fries. I have to say, it looked terrific - a huge grass fed beef patty topped with bacon, cheese, avocado and fried egg. Needless to say he was full the rest of the day. P.S. I love the ambiance of this historical building and the view of Mainstreet and O'Brien Park. It's a wee bit pricey, but Parker Garage is worth it! read more

Very average in all areas. Wasn't greeted right away. Although I was hungry, and the menu looked promising, I was a little underwhelmed. I did enjoy the truffle fries but that's about it. This is a nice place, the ambience is relaxing and casual. We went in during the late afternoon, so not to many people were here. The staff seemed busy getting ready for Dinner. The bartender didnt know what drinks were on the Wiskey Flight and couldnt speak to the beverages. The Calamari was Good/Average, but not great. We decided to try Parker Garage for dinner after seeing a play close by. We had a party of 6 and had no problem being seated. We had a great waiter. We were disappointed as we ordered 3 appetizers and he came back and told us they were out of one of those. Ok no problem. The we ordered dinner and he came back and told us they were out of the fish of the day, the fish and chips, trout and one other thing. So we changed our orders. The food was very good. We especially enjoyed the bacon wrapped pork loin and egg plant. Since it was our first time there it was a little disappointing they did not offer a free appetizer or desert due to all the changes we had to make. That would have shown good customer service. Stopped by for brunch on Fathers Day and they had space on patio for us which was great!! Our food was good, okay at most but the other plates that passed us looked amazing..even the breakfast sandwiches. The Huevos Rancheros were ok, crust was odd...not sure I liked...but the green chili was good I must say. If we return out this way Id try something else. I got Duck confit tonight. I was surprise that it was a breast and not a leg or thigh, regardless it was under cooked, very tough and not rendered correctly. The butternut squash risotto that came with it was great! This was my second time here and the first time I got the Brussel sprouts (large portion app) and the beet salad both were very good. Poor food, poor service, poor management It took about 50 minutes to get our food, and our waitress never came by to check on us. Our rare steak salad came out well done. They didn't take our salad back to fix, but we had to remove the overdone steak, and they then brought out acceptable steak. Our medium hamburger came out charred burnt on the outside and well done inside. They did bring an acceptable replacement. Management never came by after all the issues. It appears they don't care. Went a couple of weeks ago with a friend. Were seated on the patio. Our server gave us water and forgot about us. The other servers just walked by. After a half an hour I went inside and asked the hostess where our server was. He came out a few minutes later. The food was good. Went back today with my husband and another couple for brunch. Our server was rude. We asked for lemon slices for our water and she brought us a toothpick with 2 lemon slices. What happened to a plate? Only 2 lemons? Is there a lemon shortage? When my Eggs Benedict were served the eggs were so slimy they slipped off the brisket on the English muffin--actually they dripped off it. I sent it back. A bit later our server came back and said, "so you didn't like your eggs?" I answered that the eggs were not cooked. She said, "That's the way poached eggs are cooked." I'd had enough of her rudeness so I told her I had eaten many Eggs Benedict and that was NOT how poached eggs were done. She came to the table and gave everyone water but me. WOW! No water for you!!! How dare you complain!!! When I finally got my meal everyone was almost done with theirs. The eggs were much better, but no potatoes. They said they were coming. They brought some bland potatoes. Not like the ones everyone else had that had a really great flavor. My husband shared his with me. A couple of mouthfuls of the brisket were pure fat. I spit them out. The fossilized English Muffin was soaked in grease. I didn't eat them. Looks like we won't be going back. read more

Parker Garage on the quaint and picturesque Mainstreet in Parker. We've been to this restaurant three times now. The food can range from good to really good. On the latest visit, for lunch, my wife and I were greeted by the hostess who was very pleasant. It took longer than it should have for our waiter to come over, introduce himself and get things started. The menu is strait forward, but has a good range of choices. This time we decided on a burger (sans bun) smothered in green Colorado chile and the Portobello Burger. It probably took 20 to 25 minutes for our food to come out. This is a consistent issue we've noticed on all three of our visits over about 18 months. It is also the reason why I really give this place three stars versus 4, which has great decor, friendly staff (in our experience) a great location and a nice overall ambiance. Additionally, and equally important, they have a great selection of wine and local beers, as well as a fully stocked bar. :D While it took long for our food to come out, this time, they didn't get the order quite right. They brought the wrong side out for my wife. She wanted truffle fries, so the server quickly put in a request to get her some of the truffle fries. Sounds good, but alas, it still took much longer than it should have for the correct side to be delivered. I will add, that when they did, the order was huge! OK, back to the food: the Portobello Burger, made with green harissa, spinach, nut dukkah, among other things, was fantastic. My wife still talks about it that burger and has now gone out and added harissa and dukkah to our spice/condiment option for sandwiches made at home. I tasted it myself, and completely agree. Even if you're not a vegetarian, this dish is well worth a try. I asked for the cheeseburger, no bun, smothered in green chile. It was another fantastic choice. Very flavorful and another good option to consider in the future for re-order. All-in-all, this is a good place to dine. They definitely need to fix their slowness in service. Again, we've experienced it every time we've been. The place wasn't even crowded this last time, so there really is no excuse. If they can fix this issue, they could easily make this a 4 to 5 star establishment. read more

Food is good and ambiance is great. We enjoy their grass fed burgers but we ask for sauces on the side when we order. This was the second time they ignored the request. Nobody checks the order- they just want their $50 and to get you out of there. They tried to fix the order but not to our satisfaction. If we are going to order it, drive to pick it up and pay $50 for 2 burgers you'd think they would want us to have a good experience- I guess not. read more

We have been enjoying this restaurant for over 10 years now but unfortunately over the last few months they have really went downhill. We have tried them over and over again in hopes they would redeem themselves but it has not gotten any better. The steak salad that I use to love was under seasoned and dressing was bland it's like they ran out of salt and pepper. My son ordered the biscuits and gravy and it definitely wasn't your traditional dish as this came out looking like French toast style "biscuits" and the gravy was so sweet like sugar was dumped in the gravy. Some dishes should just stay traditional the way they are you don't have to be fancy and try to switch things up like that. My husband ordered the chicken and waffles, which is a simple dish when made well can be executed to perfection but the chicken was pieces of frozen chicken strips. Extremely disappointing! We ate the food because we were so hungry. The kitchen staff's standards have completely vanished. If you want a good chicken and waffles, just go down the street to West Main taproom there is a much better option. Sorry Parker Garage but you have lost a regular customer, I will no longer be recommending you to any of my friends either! read more
