I have a bumper that needed to be replaced and Josh was someone that came highly recommended so I asked him to take a look at it. He checked it out and said he could do it and asked for $1021 to order parts. I gave him the money but then he never ordered the right parts. I asked for my money back but he still owes me about $300. I've been patient waiting months for him to refund me the full amount I gave him but he keeps saying he'll send the rest but never has. I've politely called and texted repeatedly, and while on occasion Josh responds and even makes appointments to return, he has no showed every time. My check engine light was on and I needed to get my 2000 Explorer smogged for registration renewal. Called Josh and he came out and diagnosed it accurately, ordered parts and got it fixed. It passed smog on first try after his repairs! Josh is a super skilled mechanic at a great price. Note: Be patient if he doesn't get back to you right away via phone or text. He is a mobile mechanic, and doesn't have office/admin support. His skill and customer service is worth the wait. My car was having intermittent starting issues and was stalling at low speed. I requested a quote from Josh Friday evening and he responded Saturday morning with availability that afternoon. He arrived on time and quickly diagnosed the problem - dirty throttle plate. He cleaned it and problem fixed within 1/2 hour! Josh doesn't stand behind his work he doesn't show up on time or not at all asked him to come back to do a repair on a job that he did incorrectly failed to show up stood me up and put me off and then when he finally set an appointment with me had me wait hours for him and then still never showed up had to take it somewhere else to get fixed asked him to return the money I paid him he said he would never did . This review is a month overdue. Josh has worked on my vehicle twice in that time. I found Josh online, and received a very prompt response. I reached out to him one morning after my driver side power window gave out on me while driving. Sounded like a bag of rocks hit my door when I tried to roll it down. Within a couple of texts, he knew what the issue was, and after getting a quote for the parts and labor (still, all via text. Quick and efficient.) I had an appointment set for the next day at my house to do the work. The rate for the work was so awesome, that I had him do my front brakes AND fix an exhaust leak (catalytic converter gasket) all in the same visit. All this done in one morning appointment, before lunch, for less than a shop would have charged for any one of the repairs. Fast forward to this week, and I again needed a repair for an issue that had left me stranded and needing a tow home. While i was waiting for the tow, I already had my appointment with Josh for two days later. Again, this repair trip included another item I added on the spot, and all is awesome. Josh is quick, honest, fair, and worth so much more than whatever he might quote for any given job. I plan on using Parker's Auto Care for all my routine and emergency auto repairs. I'd give Josh negative stars if I could. Total nightmare costing me thousands of dollars and even more headache! He started my head gasket repair in early December, later in the month than he originally quoted me, which by itself would have been fine, but continued to make excuses about why he couldn't come finish it for weeks, then finally finished it and I drove it less than 5 miles before the head gasket blew again. He then took weeks to get started on fixing it again and then kept making excuses for why he couldn't be there every day to work on it. Literally did not have my car for over 2 months (during Christmas time, New Years, both my kids birthdays, ect.). Once finally fixed the check engine light was still on so took it to another mechanic to have all of it checked and was told that there was a part that still needs to he replaced that Josh should have known when he determined it was a head gasket and had I known then, would have been better to just get a new engine. Texted Josh and he admitted he should have noticed it and that he learned a lot doing my repair. Then head my engine completely blow up, while waiting for the other shop I was using to get in the part, my engine blew up even though I had just checked and refilled oil right before driving and had only driven 10 miles. Then had to have my engine replaced by the new shop and waited a week for the engine to arrive so having another week without a car. Texted Josh who said he would figure out about refunding me for what I paid him and then over next couple of months, continued to periodically ask what the status was and he always had an excuse. Tried to tell him even small regular payments were better than nothing but that he really needed to pay me back what I paid him at least since I also paid close to a $1000 on Lyfts and rentals in those two months. He has since stopped replying. So frustrating to have to now take him to small claims court. Unless you want to chance having your car held hostage on your driveway and throwing $ down the drain, DON'T use Josh Parker. read more

Early on a Monday morning after class my brakes went out. I contacted Josh & he asked me a max of 3 questions (great cuz i know nothing) and was at my house in less then 30min with all parts in hand. Parker's Auto Care did not disappoint. About a month ago, I had to replace my timing belt, water pump, serpetine belt, and the various tensioners/pulleys for routine 180k mile maintenance along with a performance crank pulley on my 7th gen (2003-2007) Honda Accord V6. I had originally intended to do it myself so I purchased all the necessary parts but at the last minute I chickened out because I had never done a timing belt replacement before and I was not confident in my own DIY skills. Josh from Parker's Auto Care is the pro to call. Prior to contacting Josh, I had called various local shops, other mobile "mechanics" (hacks/amateurs) on Craigslist/OfferUp, and I was starting to feel like doing it myself would be better than letting some unsure phony touch my car. When I asked one OfferUp "mechanic" how much he charged to do the job, his actual response, was an e-mail that read and I quote "I don't have a light". How is that relevant, you bad-excuse phony? Another Craigslist "automotive technician", quoted me basically stealership prices and "8 hrs to almost 2 days" to do the job. I guess he would probably need to watch the same youtube DIY videos I had watched to learn how to do the job? Josh is not like those guys. He's an absolute pro. Genuinely nice guy, seems trustworthy and he obviously knows his stuff as he's been doing this for years. Timing belt for a Honda/Acura J-series engines? It's a layup to him. He is the seasoned, hardworking dude you are looking for. Not to mention he communicates with his customers well. He informed me that he was going to arrive a little late as a prior job had taken him a little longer than he had expected, which happens from time to time, especially with mobile basically on-demand businesses like this. Other people I have done business with have shown up late with no communication as to what was going on. He provides absolutely fair prices with honest high quality work. I asked if I could watch him work, as I wanted to learn, and he was basically having a casual conversation with me about what he was doing as he promptly knocked out the job within 2 and a half hours. Arrived at 10AM, gone before 12:30. Aside the fact that he is a Sacramento Kings fan, there is nothing negative I can say about him, his work, and his business.
