A very odd set up walking in. Old school styling and outdated bathrooms. Now to the food, which is the reason why we are here. Two meat combo with brisket and tips, baked beans, and corn muffin were fantastic. The smoke flavored is on par with those fancy KC joints. Parker's recently catered a family event. We had bbq brisket and bbq chicken, baked beans, potato salad, and an apple crisp dessert. The food was incredible the brisket was lean which is a rare thing these days. The chicken was great as well. The sides were great. The food was delivered and set up on time. We regularly visit Parker's when we are craving delicious BBQ. This place is not fancy, but the service is warm and the food is always delicious. I'm partial to their pulled pork, and the cornbread muffin is a must-have side. I also love that there is a to-go station at the front with pre-packaged sauces. I ordered the combo plate with rib tips and "Texas" beef brisket. The rib tips were dry and tough. The brisket was a nice portion, but it was too dry for lean brisket. Their original bbq sauce was okay. Their Carolina sauce was too mustardy, and their spicy sauce was awful. Their service was a little rushed and inattentive. I rounded up to 5 stars, I would give it a 4.5. Great prices, you are getting what you paid for and it's not bad! Very nice staff. Tasty barbecue sauces, my favorite was the hot and spicy. My husband and I got the feast for two, and it was more than enough for the both of us. My only two complaints would be that the brisket was a little dry( add enough bbq and it's alright) and how dark it is in the restaurant. But over all I would eat here again. read more

They've got what you want if you want what they've got. Was expecting the same silky, moist smoked, "no need for sauce it's so good" chicken the rib ranch made years ago before Parker's took it over. That was my mistake. Parker's bake their chicken to death. If you are a smokehouse, why is the chicken not smoked? Goofy. Weird. Disappointing. The chicken was the second driest and worst I've iver had. We took the leftover to give to our yard panda. Maybe he'll eat it. Other things to note. Tiny sides. Asked if the slaw was drowning in the white creamy liquid and the server was kind enough to tell me yes. Never could understand why one needs so much sauce...maybe to moisten the chicken back up? Beans were standard and good, very sweet. Corn muffin also sweet and as expected. Butter tasted fake. Brisket was ok. Pickle was decent. BBQ sauces all sweet as expected. Oven fries had no continuity. One was a quarter of a huge potato making the crunch to potato ratio unpleasant and dry and one was a tiny sliver fried hard. Onion rings were light and crisp but under seasoned and the sauce was bland. Place was super loud, they need acoustical tiles to absorb the sounds of screaming children. Also, less important but a matter of comfort; booths have short backs which makes the experience creepy when you look up and see the people two booths down staring you straight in the face over and over. An extra 8 inches of dividers on the booth backs would be amazing. . For the the price, we definitely expected better. But you know how it goes, mediocrity makes money. read more

This was my 13th BBQ restaurant in Nebraska. For lunch, I ordered an appetizer of brisket nachos, and a refillable soda (Pepsi products). Fresh tortilla chips and nicely smoked and chopped brisket melded with green onion, jalapenos and various cheeses to produce a meal in its own right for one-- and even two adults might be hard pressed to save room for dinner plates. The service was friendly and attentive (thanks, Nicole), so for $18.14 + tip this was a good deal all the way around. I'm looking forward to a return visit to sample more of the BBQ side of the menu. read more

I have vague, but find, memories of visiting Parker's as a child. Specifically on days after spending hours in the sun at the formerly public Lamoni beach. I was thrilled to stumble upon this little bit of nostalgia on a recent camping trip in the Gretna area. We did this in two parts, however. Our first attempt to visit was on our anniversary celebration. At the end of our 45 minute wait time, we were informed that they'd lost water and had to close for the evening. Hugely disappointed, this sent us off on a long and draining evening of finding alternative food (we hit another unexpectedly closed restaurant in an unfamiliar area, landed at one much further away than we'd hopes where we received terrible service...) And then we decided to try for a redemption visit a couple months later. This time we waited for another 45 minutes (I think this is fairly standard for dinner if you don't come early). We were delighted to finally be served. I regret that I don't remember what my husband ordered, but I do remember that he got the cheesy potatoes and we both loved them! I ordered the blackened chicken salad and it was delicious and flavorful and filling! (Especially that cornbread pairing ) The servers were clearly working hard, and it had a very family owned+family friendly feel. We felt lucky to have a spot for the night and enjoyed our delayed meal! read more

ordered the quarter chicken. Supposedly it is to be equal to two pieces of chicken together uncut! it would be more approprivately called an 1/8 of chicken! my piece was tiny and very bony! Went on Father's Day. Expected it to be busy and it was full. Told it was a 60 minute wait, we were seated in 40 minutes. My husband had 12 oz smoked prime rib, which he loved, tender melt in your mouth, cooked perfectly medium, $38. I had the two meat bbq combo (rib tips, pulled pork). It was really good, but I thought a little pricey at $25. Coleslaw and mashed potatoes as a side, both were delicious, potatoes did not even need gravy! And their ambience is quieter and enjoyable. Prices are competitive, too. They used to bring out a sampling of their wedge fries with a smidgen of each bbq so you could taste each sauce. The food is really good and the staff are very friendly. Only drawback is the noise; it's very open with high ceilings & nothing to absorb sounds from all the other patrons. Out away from the city in the cornfields where it's nice and quiet, has a nice rustic small town feel, the employees are very welcoming and super friendly, our server Nicole was outstanding, she gave us a rundown about Parker's Smokehouse, talked about many menu items, even though she was very busy, she kept checking in and didn't skip a beat. Everything here is made from scratch from the smoked meats Down to the croutons. The Onion flower was a great starter, very big and plenty for the 5 of us. Everything we ordered was seasoned and cooked perfectly, tender and juicy ribs, brisket, sausage, rib tips, bbq beans, mashed potato's, steak fries all amazing! The cajun catfish and chicken tenders are also fantastic, there's something about the homemade breading that make them a must try, seasoned light and airy and not greasy. The food was great and found out they make a lot items like sauces and corn bread in house. The place was quiet for being busy and could enjoy our kids with out noise. We ate there yesterday 4 adults 1 teenager. Service was prompt and friendly, restaurant was clean, and food was fairly mediocre. The ribs were good, the steak fries room temperature at best, baked beans a dry clump that looked too unappetizing to eat, the brisket sandwich was so dry that I gave up on trying to eat it with the stale Rotella bun and squirted barbecue sauce on the brisket and ate it with a fork. The cole slaw was very good and the cornmeal muffin was good but would have been better warm. read more

-The spousal unit, offspring, and I rolled in for a late lunch on a mid-May (2021) Saturday. We had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated at 1:30pm...no prob. -While waiting to order our food I tried the three BBQ sauces and was less than impressed with any of them. They were: liquid gold = honey mustard; original = bland; hot and spicy = barely spicy. -For lunch we ordered: -- brisket sandwich ($12.50 w/Memphis style add-on ($0.50)) with potato salad: brisket decent flavor but I see why chopped...might have been kinda tough if sliced. Potato salad kinda bland...needed salt (and I'm not much of a salt guy, but this was really bland and in need of salt). Sandwich needed a bit of hot & spicy sauce to boost the flavor (although the juices running throughout the sandwich from the slaw (Memphis style) was good and added some flavor). -- BBQ nachos with GA pork ($10): spousal unit says they were good. Enough to make a meal for two people! Lots of leftovers to take home. -- Cajun chicken sandwich with fries ($11): offspring said the sandwich was more hot sauce spicy than Cajun-spicy. But good, I guess... Total with 3 Dr Peppers, tax, and 15% tip was $50. Not exactly a cheap lunch for three people. I'm honestly torn about if I'll come back, so I'm giving it 3 stars for now; if I visit again then I will update my review and stars (if warranted). I need to think on it, though. I read the negative comments and have to roll my eyes! We love Parker's. It is casual enough to walk in wearing beachwear, yet nice enough for a great date night dinner. We always share the sampler platter, now. But, through the years, we have actually tried everything. We even love their hot beef sandwich! Holy meat!! Without a doubt, the best bbq of all time. We decided to get the combo platter to try a little bit of everything. The brisket didn't require chewing. It was so tender and juicy, you didn't even need a knife. The blooming onion was crisy and not greasy like most. It was all delicious. Four adults ate and took pounds of food home! There wasn't really a reason to drive to Ashland from Omaha (27 miles) for BBQ at 8pm, but we did anyway. And I am glad we did! Parker's is the same exit off I-80 we have taken to visit Mahoney State Park and also the Air Museum, and it sits in a pretty unassuming little strip in the middle of wilderness. The shell of the building is made of corrugated metal and it looks like a big warehouse- but has adequate signage. There's a big bar to sit at as you come in, and half of the large lot is the restaurant, the other a banquet room. Super simple basic decor, and a nice menu to choose from. BBQ favorites, sandwiches, hot meals, salad, and apps, all to wash down with cold beer (craft and domestics) and homemade dessert. Not only was the meat here excellent in texture and flavor (and not dry!) but the cornbread really shines here. It's moist, flavorful, and has the perfect light sweetness. The baked beans were also excellent, not too sweet- I like mine and little more smokey and savory. Worth the stop in what seems like the middle of nowhere! read more
