Just moved here from San Francisco, love all those cafes, and hole in the wall diners. It may look ghetto but the food is usually good. This place however wasn't all that. Love that elderly folks hangout there& it does feel welcoming but what I ordered was something I could of made at home & made better. Following a busy morning at work, 3 of us ran over to Parkside for breakfast. 2 of us had never been there, and we are SO glad we trusted our coworker's recommendation! The menu offers something for every pallet, and the meals are simply SCRUMPTIOUS! I had the blueberry crepes (EPIC YUM) and my colleagues had the CA Bene Boat (OMG) and the other an omelet (DROOL). The servers were friendly and fun, bringing our food promptly and refilling our beverages without us uttering a word (which was convenient, since it's rude to talk with our mouths full)!! First I should say we visited 10am on a Saturday so it was pretty busy. This is a greasy spoon diner in all ways. Which I love and the waitress seemed friendly but very busy. The food took about 45minutes. I think I would have given them 4 stars if it wasn't so busy the breakfast I ordered was good the breakfast quesadilla but my boyfriends biscuits and gravy wasn't that great. Pretty good food but the atmosphere and flow of the restaurant is extremely chaotic. There's no hostess so getting a table is a free for all/first come first serve basis. There weren't enough menus so we had to share, and there were only 2 clearly over worked and stressed out waitresses (that I totally empathize with) that were not only taking care of every single table, but we're also bussing, restocking, and checking people out at the front. Extremely friendly service. Wonderful food. My coffee cup never went less than half empty before it was filled up again. The waitresses visited with all of the customers. I had chicken fried steak that was cooked perfectly. This was our first visit to this nice diner and I think that we will become regular customers with each trip to Medford. read more

The BEST breakfast I have had in a long time. A buddy of mine and I went for breakfast this morning. Our usual place was closed due to a kitchen fire so we tried a new place. We had the special...the service was friendly and kept the coffee coming. GREAT coffee too. They get you your food fast and come back several times to see if you need anything more. Their prices are great and they have a wide selection available. I was pleasantly surprised when I ended up here for breakfast one Sunday morning. I had the california bennieboat (sp?) I am picky about my eggs and I love runny yolks but cannot handle uncooked slimy whites so I was happy when the waitress not only didn't roll her eyes at my specific request (ordering them medium never seems to do the trick when I try it) and detailed explanation she was VERY accommodating and my eggs came back perfect. The second time I got the same thing and when she brought my plate she asked me to check the eggs before she left and they were under cooked so she took them right back and fixed it. She was super happy to make sure we were happy. LOVE their holindaise and coffee is good too! read more

My friend and I get together for lunch. It's a locals place, and yes - lots of seniors eat there. It has good prices and a cute menu. Our waitress was too busy to be friendly. I ordered the hot turkey sandwich. The waitress warned me that the turkey was deli, but that was ok. However, the bread was worse than Wonderbread,and it was soaked with a poor lackluster brown gravy. The mashed potatoes must have come out of a box. My friend's sandwich was really nice. Coffee reminded me of the coffee served in cafes in the 80's. read more

I came here after having a medical procedure that I had to fast for. Starving and ready to eat and seeing the good reviews for this place, my girlfriend and I came here directly from the hospital. Upon walking up to this place, I was surprised by the seemingly lack of care that this restaurant has in its theme. Don't get me wrong, I love some greasy spoons but this did not look like a place that was inviting to eat in. The floor is disgusting and unfinished, the seating is outdated and also looks like the chairs were scored at a church dumpster. We sat down and looked at the menu, looked around again and decided to leave. Just not an inviting place to eat your first meal of the day at all. This place is actually somewhat difficult to get to from I-5, so if your passing through I wouldn't recommend it. The atmosphere is very..."local", which is good. We were the only people eating here who weren't seniors or obese, which says something about both the food and atmosphere. The staff seemed very friendly to the regulars but weren't so friendly to us. The OJ tasted from concentrate, the coffee was bland, but the omelette and hash browns were OK.
