I noticed that there were some water stains on the ceiling in my house and called Parkside roofing to come out to inspect it. John the project manager came out and told me that part of the roof should be replaced as water seemed to be seeping through and getting the frame wet. When they finally came out, John notified me that they found additional wet spots on the roof and asked if I wanted to pay a little more to re-do an additional 200sqft, which I approved to avoid having to do this again in the near future. I did a lot of research and got multiple quotes before we decided to go with Parkside Roofing. From my first conversation with John and later with Dave, I knew we would be in good hands. With something that's as important as your home's roof, you want someone you feel you can trust and someone who takes the time to explain the process and answer every question. Because our existing roof tiles were in good condition, we were given the option of a totally new roof or a reroof with our existing tiles. We went the latter route and saved a significant amount of money. Another roofer I contacted refused to give us this option. The contract we signed was very clear and we were made aware of what could be additional costs once the work started. Once a date was set, the crew got to work and completed the reroof in 3 days. We had a lot of wood damage and they did a great job with all the repairs. When one of the roofers saw me come out of the garage to run an errand, he noticed that there was some sawdust on the garage floor. I am the son of a home builder and have been on roofs doing roofing myself, so I come into this with a slight bit more knowledge than the average home owner. That is one of the reasons that Parkside got our business. It was between Parkside and another roofer. We were planning a tile reset with new underlayment. The other roofer stated that they don't do estimates and when asked, said that they would be putting one layer of 30 pound felt underlayment. That was the whole reason we chose to do a tile reset in the first place, since we knew the original builder had put only one layer and that this was the reason, the roof leaked. So we immediately knew which company to go with. With Parkside, they provided a very detailed estimate with materials, payment details, and a time estimate for completion. I knew how many squares I had on my roof before John Lee, the estimator arrived. He even flew a drone to get an aerial spec on the number of squares and before he flew it, he guessed at how many squares I had and was right. Everything he said that Parkside was going to do to my roof was exactly what I had wanted and I never had to ask for anything. They knew exactly what to do. They offered 2 new layers of 30 pound felt, new drip molding, new 24 inch wide galvanized valleys, new flashing, a better overlap of tile, new bird stop, and even a new black plastic bird stop at the peaks, rather than mortar which usually slides out of place as the roof ages. They even did extra. They even calked wall seams, potential entry points for water. They even corrected a builder design flaw to prevent future leakage. From their experience reroofing my model home, they knew what part of the roof was a design flaw and an entry point for leakage and wood rot underneath. They fixed it. The built wood stops under the front eves to prevent bird nesting. They removed a plastic owl and even removed a Direct TV dish from my wall. John Lee remains the point of contact throughout the job and there is a foreman, Icidro ( aka. " Easy" ), who manages 4 guys. If you want a good quality, leak free roof, this is the company to go with. I would use them again in a heartbeat and have already referred them to my neighbor. read more

I have an older house and the fascia boards were suffering from a lot of dry rot. Plus the roof had an area where there water penetration had started (luckily it hadnt progressed to a full on leak). Parkside did a great job. They weren't the cheapest bid, but not most expensive either. Right in the middle which is where I usually try to shop. The work ended up being more expensive than the original bid, but that is the problem with bidding on a roof project, you can never be totally sure how much extra work will be required until they start opening up the roof. I reached out the Parkside Roofing for roof repair. They are busy and it was raining a lot so they couldn't come fix it right away, which is understandable. It was smart that John (the manager) used a drone so we can both look at the roof in real time to figure out where the repairs are needed. Once I'm scheduled, the communication was prompt (I prefer texting which is what they did) and the manager and staff are friendly. Price is reasonable as well (some roofers have outrageous quotes!) They fixed our leak very quickly once they are on site and when I ask if they could check other areas of the roof for me they did not hesitate to do so. I needed a repair on a tile roof and I didn't have much experience with roofers and I didn't know anyone who did. Communication with Dave was quick through text and email, which I prefer . I reached out to Parkside to get a quote and told them I wanted a soft quote before they came out to my house. I gave them the dimensions and also what I needed done. I was very specific. They told me the cost which seemed reasonable so I invited them out. After they came to my house, I got a bid and it was 9k higher than the lowest price they said it would be and 6k higher than the highest price they said it would be. Feel very bait and switched and that they initially gave me a low ball quote so they could come to my home. On top of this, I got 4 total quotes and this one was the highest by 3k. read more

I was in dire need to repair my front porch that had an outdated skylight with plastic coverings, some partially ripped away from a past windy storm a few years ago. My front porch has a location where the water funnels and caused rotting on some of the roofing and beams. I reached out to 3 different vendors to repair my porch roof. One came in at a low price, but never followed up with a formal written quote. The 2nd vendor didn't give me the time of day for the repair. When he came to provide an estimate, he did nothing but try to sell me a new roof for $15-20k. When I talked to Dave and John they were very responsive from the beginning and through the entire process.
