I traveled all the way to this diner near Coney Island for a friend's birthday lunch. It has been voted Best Diner, so I wanted to experience it for myself. The interior is vast and there was comfortable booth seating. For my drink, I decided to get the Chocolate Milkshake with peanut butter. This tasted amazing and was ultra thick, creamy, rich with peanut butter flavor mixed with sweet chocolate. I shared the Appetizer Sampler, which included Corn Nuggets, Mac and Cheese Bites, Onion Rings, as well as Chicken Tenders. These were all very tasty with a delightful crunchiness and well seasoned. Since the menu was extensive, I had a hard time deciding what to order. I finally went with Building my own Sandwich. I selected Pastrami, Muenster cheese, onion, lettuce, tomato on rye bread, with a side of cheese fries. The sandwich was humongous with a good amount of each ingredient, however there was no sauce, so it was very dry. The Pastrami was nice and peppery, as well as tender. The cheese was melty, while the crisp veggies gave the sandwich a fresh element. The Cheese Fries were not good though. There was American cheese (which I'm not a fan of to begin with) on top of the fries and they had become rubbery and tough. The desserts looked yummy, and I was planning to order Chocolate Covered Strawberries, but I was simply too full to eat anything else. And I had to take half a sandwich and most of the cheese fries to go. Service was pretty good. Our waiter was personable and accommodating with individual checks for everyone. Toward the end, it got a little hectic and it took a little longer for items to come out. I wouldn't consider this place to be the best diner ever, but I would be open to returning. Kicked off our girl's spa day with a hearty breakfast here at the ever famous Parkview Diner. Surprisingly enough, I've never ate here before, and had always had a mental note to try here one day, and was glad I finally did. My gal pal said she frequents here enough to know that it's good food, consistent service, and located right off the Belt Parkway that makes it ideal to meet with friends. I am a HUGE fan of breakfast and since we arrived at 9:00AM, the breakfast special menu was still going on, so I opted for the Hungry Man breakfast, with a pancake, piece of French toast, two eggs any style, so I picked sunny side up, a piece of ham, sausage, and bacon. For $18.95, it was ALOT, but I had little to no issues finishing most of it. It was exactly what I wanted and it passed the diner taste test. It was very tasty and kept me full for hours afterwards. The vibe of this place is very typical of most diners with booths or tables to sit at. There are signs of aging, but that adds to the character of the place. Not the same place anymore. Came here for Mother's Day this year. Have been coming to to this diner for 20 years or so. The seating was off with plenty of space available. The servers are great as usual and very hardworking but the managing team ( whatever the lady's name with the bun and glasses ) is unacceptable and bias. Other people that arrived after us were served before us. We asked to sit in the left sided area and were declined by the same lady, 3 parties who arrived right after us were seated on the left side. I love coming to an old fashioned diner. The atmosphere is very charming. I'm usually the type that orders chicken tenders, but this time I ordered brisket if roast beef with gravy and French fries. It was delicious. Highly recommend. I love that you can order anything you want vs other restaurants. I really hope this diner stays opened for a few more years. What an absolutely miserable place. Food is mediocre at best. Service is nonexistent, and it's unnecessary for servers to argue about not wanting to help another server's tables because they don't get a tip from it. That's bad management and training. Tables shouldn't be penalized for needing ketchup or syrup because they asked someone who wasn't their server for it. I know diners always don't have the best reputation although everyone was polite and helpful. The food was good and what I expect in a diner. Prices were fair and I think the best part would have been the desert if I had it. All the deserts looked AWESOME although I resisted temptation. Cakes, cookies, pies, etc. I had the salmon avocado burger with fries, my buddies had the burger deluxe with sweet potato fries and one had the pastrami which looked great. Their food is your run of the mill diner food, from chicken and waffles to burgers and omelets to triple decker sandwiches. Their service is pretty fast and the waitstaff are friendly and pleasant. Unfortunately I go up and down with eating, sometimes I am pounding down too much food, other times I'm blessed and can't eat much and end up losing some weight. The soup was pretty good I liked it but the chips that came with the gauc and chips were not as salty as I would have liked them to be. For $11 I would have liked a little more guac as well. I used to come here a lot when I was younger and I can say from what I remember the pancakes are still just as good. A good classic retro diner with all the menu items you can think of. We came for breakfast so everyone ordered omelets and I ordered the eggs Florentine. I loveeeee the hash browns they have compared to other places who do home fries instead; I much rather prefer the hash browns. We also ordered a strawberry banana pancake plate for the table. They asked us if we had been vaccinated, which is fine -- and yes, we have been. We were seated in a booth and our server was great and checked on us several times while we were there. Food was good and coffee was refilled consistently. My wife had an omelette and my daughter had some kind of chicken sandwich. I had the beef gyro and it was very good. Our friends were in a nearby hotel and we were looking for someplace within walking distance. The hotel desk recommended Parkview Diner, which was just a short quarter mile away.
