I ordered a simple ham and cheese sandwich at 6:30 in the morning (kid forgot to tell me they needed a bag lunch till this morning) via their online ordering as the line can be long. It said ready between 6:45 and 6:50. I get there at 6:50 - they had not even started working on it and there were only 2 other customers in the store. I had to wait about 10 minutes - it may have been faster to walk in and order. Food is good but the wait times are not great and they really should not offer online order to pickup if they can't keep to the times. read more

Food- I frequent this deli for bagels and sometimes sandwiches too! Their chicken salad is 1 of my favorites. 5/5 Service- Lots of hands on deck which is greatly appreciated. The wait isn't usually more than 5 min to order and varies thereafter depending on what you order. Ambiance- Good space, huge deli counter on 1 side of the store and seating for about 30 on the opposite side. Pictures funny signs music isn't too loud. My father in law likes to pick up bagels from this place whenever we visit and I've been pretty happy with the bagels every time. They are very large and very fluffy. If you toast them, they have a nice crisp on the outside but still maintain the fluffy interior. I like the egg, everything, and cinnamon raisin bagels. I grew up in this area, but don't get back enough to keep up with all the local businesses. A search for "black and white cookies" on Yelp led me here. At first all I saw were prepackaged clamshells of cookies from another source, but luckily I asked if they had ones they made fresh themselves and was told they were in the back in a refrigerator, and how many did I want? Not having seen them, I randomly said four, and was informed they were buy 3, get 1 free. I was totally shocked when the clerk came back with 4 of the biggest black and whites I've ever seen--each the size of a small frying pan. Not only were they a hell of a bargain at $3.75 x 3, they were delicious and authentic, which isn't always the case when buying b&ws. The only "off" thing about them was that the frosting stayed moist, which I assume is why they kept them in the fridge, whereas traditionally the icing hardens to where it wouldn't smear. So they weren't the easiest to transport home on the plane, but they completely satisfied my jones for a black and white cookie, which is one of the foods from New York I miss the most! The owner/manager stormed into a neighboring business we attend for children's classes and, in front of clients and children, berated the teenage front desk employee over accusations about parking. Instead of addressing the situation professionally, he chose to publicly confront and intimidate a young staff member who had nothing to do with the issue. The people parked in the lot were paying customers who went into the bagel store while their child was attending classes. To aggressively target a young woman rather than have a respectful conversation between business owners is completely unacceptable and deeply unprofessional. The behavior displayed was shocking and appalling. Families witnessed a grown man yelling at a young employee in the workplace, something no child or parent should have to see. As a customer from a neighboring business, we parents bring dozens of customers to the bagel cafe each weekend. After this disturbing display, many of those families have made it clear they will not be supporting bagel cafe moving forward. Businesses should uplift their communities and support one another. read more

I decided to come here today to give them a try after reading about how good their bagels were. The store was super clean, staff were friendly and service was fairly quick. They have a wide selection of bagels to choose from as well as pastries, cold cuts and deli-style foods by the pound. Probably one of the best bagel shops I've been to on Long Island. I got a bacon, egg & cheese sandwich and a flagel (flattened bagel) with scallion cream cheese. I've had flat bagels before near me but wasn't nearly as good. Theirs were crispy, chewy and flavorful with a generous portion of cream cheese, maybe a bit too much for my liking. The sandwich was cooked to perfection and they do not skimp on the eggs or bacon so you will be full or satisfied after eating one. Going forward, I will be driving a couple of miles out of my way to try out more delicious items like their sesame flagel with lox cream cheese. The location is on a major street and there is plenty of metered parking for all customers. This will now be my go-to breakfast spot. read more

I've been avoiding bagels and bread, in general, for months. Someone brought me a flagel and that sent me spiraling! Haha I've been obsessing over Long Island Bagel Cafe's flagels ever since. The struggle is real, folks! This review is strictly based on the flagels, since they are the only things I buy here (well, along with some scallion cream cheese). The flagels are fantastic and come in different varieties. They even have whole wheat flagels in different varieties. My fave are the "whole wheat everything" or sesame flagel. They cost $1.85 each and they're huge! So if you're trying to cut down on carbs, having a flagel instead of a bagel will not save you too many carbs. But on a cheat day, it is sooooo satisfying and worth it! Wednesdays are their freebie days! Buy 6, get 3 free; or buy 12, get 6 free. I haven't taken advantage of these Wednesday specials yet, for fear I will eat ALL the bagels/flagels all by myself. Haha. Flavored cream cheese will cost you $5.75 per half lb. This will be short and simple! The Bagels here are fresh and good. I would say they are probably the best in the area. The place is super clean and organized. The staff is friendly and I noticed how careful they are with using new gloves when touching your food. The prices are very reasonable and they have a great selection. Me so happy to have found another great bagel spot. Only downside is that they don't take phone or text order on weekends. Great bagels, definitely old school quality. Service is ok, always seems a lot of activity going on behind the counter with many people working but the lines hardly move. Maybe online and phone orders get priority. Prices are high which is surprising for Mineola. I get a pound of acme sliced nova in Roslyn heights for $56 but here it's the same sliced nova for $68 a pound and $2 a bagel is annoying I know I know "inflation " but at some point it's enough and you notice discernible price differences from place to place for the exact same items. I'll deal with the Roslyn heights crowd to save real money. Funny always thought the bargains would be where the property taxes are lower. The fact that they're getting nova direct from acme (which they are) for around $22 a pound OR LESS and sell it for $68 yeah says A LOT! This is not inflation this is exploitation. A relatively new comer to the Mineola community, this shop has quickly become a force in the East Side of Mineola. Originally a Bank of New York, then Chase it is now a full service bagel shop/Deli. It's an easy in and out to Jericho Tpke and there is ample parking in the large parking lot in the rear of the building. Not too big and still plenty of seating. There are plenty of windows here so Bagel Cafe is bright and a very comfortable place to sit and eat. There a full deli here you can have anything you want for lunch served anyway you want, personally, I'll take mine on a bagel. They have a huge selection of bagels, flagals, and bialys too. They have great daily specials many including extra bagels when you buy some. They also have a wonderful selection of pre-made sandwiches. I also had the opportunity to try one of their black and white cookies. I really enjoyed this homemade item... Plenty of tasty muffins too! I have been visiting since the beginning of their existence here in Mineola, NY. I waited this long because usually a business starts out well (hence the rave reviews) and once their repertoire is up quality starts to falter. I don't know if that is the case here or the fact that this LI Bagel Cafe is trying too hard to be that Jack of all Trades. Not only is it a bagel shop, but it's also a deli and bistro-like, a convenience store, and a cafe, and I just think they're trying too hard when they've already got it made. For example: get rid of the Grain Bowls. Today (02/03/2020) was my first day trying it out. It was disgusting. The worst food I have ever had for lunch. Maybe it's the staff (who quite frankly didn't know what to do).. so maybe it's the higher-ups who didn't train them right.. everyone is looking for someone to blame. I ordered the Grain Bowl with Farro.... They were out of Farro so my second choice was the quinoa kale, and grilled chicken for the protein, and for the toppings I asked for the roasted sweet potatoes, corn salsa (never happened), black beans, and the sauteed peppers and onions. Before they started working on it I asked for everything to be hot and that I'll be eating in house. The quinoa was cold and watery. The corn salsa was not added to my bowl. The roasted sweet potatoes were disgusting; they were cold and tasted like the smell of fresh poopy diapers. The black beans were fine but cold. The sauteed peppers and onions were cold and oily and didn't have much flavor. And last but not least the chicken was well chopped and barely warmed up. Parts of it were cold and parts of it still had bone and skin or chicken fat still attached. Ew. It was so gross that I wound up eating the whole box of b+w cookies I bought for the office and a bag of dill-flavored Deep River potato chips. To drink I had the iced vanilla coffee without ice (it was already cold) with almond milk. The combination wasn't great but it was a trillion times better than the Grain Bowl I received. Also, it wasn't in a bowl. It was in a to-go deep dish when I even said it was to eat there, and it was strange... a hexagonal shape. In my honest opinion take down the banner for the Grain Bowls and do yourself a favor. Make people eat salads instead. Also the guy working today wasn't in LI Bagel Cafe mode. I probably said my order for the Grain Bowl five times before he got a pad and a pen. Then he jotted down bagel... And again.. I had to repeat myself about the Grain Bowl... But I probably should have let him write bagel... I think that would have been a better option. The girl working there wound up doing most of the work whilst he took care of "grilling" the grilled chicken breast. I used to get the chicken (with veggies) soup often in the wintertime, but the chicken has been less and less tasty. Almost old tasting. Not fresh. The liquid has become saltier. Maybe use a different vendor for your chicken breasts. It seems like a repeating theme. Two TV's with news 12 on repeat is great torture. It makes sure the guests don't hog the tables. But I wonder if your employees are hurting. I'd recommend getting egg wraps and sandwiches from any other deli in the neighbors. The LI Bagel Cafe eggs taste like arse. Positive stuff: Overall cleanliness four or five stars. Every time I stop in someone is mopping or cleaning up a mess somewhere. During the grand opening you guys had wacky waving inflatable tube men. Those were fun. Generally the music is pretty awesome. Low key and chill. Boar's Head Brand meats are always fresh. Great for making wraps. Wraps and bagels are probably your strong suit. If they don't have something ask for it.. they even have a sign that says it. Usually they have it stored elsewhere. And if they don't have it and you want it they might provide it in the future. Or you can bring it in and they'll use it as per the customer's request. I've seen it done. Great stuff! Also I get it... Around the table/booth seating are tons of happy young ones eating bagels. Some of us dislike seeing babies or children everywhere. Maybe make one section that. Another section with the cute puppies and another section with the corny bagelicious phras(es) posters. There is a bathroom behind the last table booth for customers. Parking is along the side and back of the property. Pulling out is a bit tricky especially if a car is parked right out front. For all of you drivers... Make a right and another right onto the next street and then decide if you want to turn around to go left. In the morning hours they offer various flavors of caffeinated coffee and generic decaf coffee. They have lots of creamers to choose from, a few cow's milk options, and an almond milk. I came here a few weeks ago because I heard a co-worker talking about how good this place was. I went on a weekend morning and there were a lot of people here. Place is pretty small and there are about like 6 tables / booths you can sit at. I wasn't sure what to order but I saw they offer these 'bagel box' specials that come with a bagel, meat, eggs, home fries, and coffee. So I got that and I was surprised it was only $7. I was like wow, what a deal. I sat down and started eating and was very happy with how much food I got for the price. Everything was pretty solid; the bagel seemed about as good as a bagel from a standard LI Bagel place and same for the other stuff. I finished my meal and was very satisfied. I tried coming back this past weekend and the line was out the door. I guess this place is becoming / has become a hot spot. FYI I called over to another LI Bagel Cafe location in Bellmore and they didn't have the Bagel Box special. Thus I'm giving out 5 stars for the value. I went out for a long drive to clear my head the other day (while maintaining proper social distancing as the only person on the car) and found myself in Mineola. The roads were totally empty as was my stomach and since I was cravving a bagel & lox all week, I fired up Yelp and did a search. I immediately spotted Long Island Bagel Cafe since they had a really good rating I of course checked them out. After seeing two stellar reviews from two stellar local Elites, Susan E and Joel H, I knew this was the spot to try. I went with my usual go-to bagel order... an everything bagel slightly toasted with scallion cream cheese, tomato and onion. I actually ordered two bagels and so I could drop one of at one of my best friends houses who lived nearby. The plan was to surprise him by leaving it on the windshield of his car inside of an old parking ticket envelope, ringing the bell and then hiding to watch his reaction. Well... the plan didn't work because I ended up eating both of the bagels. You see... I had eaten mine in the car while parked outside the Bagel Cafe and when I approached his driveway I did not see his car anywhere. Sure, I could have called an audible and placed it in his mailbox or heck, even called or rang the bell... however my stomach had other plans. Every time I have been here, whoever ends up taking my order screws it up. I asked for sandwich on a flagel, get a normal bagel without being told. I ask for a Stent on a roll, they forget to make it on a roll... and forgot to add Cheddar Cheese as advertised on menu. So paying for sandwich as advertised an lacking cheese. Long Island Bagel Cafe in Mineola is one of the better bagel spots on the island. We typically stop by in the morning for some freshly made bagels, breakfast sandwiches and occasionally iced coffee. I'm not a big fan of their coffee (too light for my liking) but their bagels are consistently good. They have a wide selection to choose from, but we usually opt for the everything, whole wheat everything and cinnamon raisin. Service is fairly quick, which makes it a great location for in-and-out breakfast, however not always the most friendly. My other half recently stopped by (during COVID) and experienced some problems in the service department. Welp, let's remove a star for that and you earn yourself 4 stars! Yay! read more

To the right is roomy eating area. There is ample parking with metered spots up front and parking lot along side and behind their building. Usually fairly crowded with a line, but they work and serve very quickly. I've never waited too long. Very good service. Their bagels and sandwiches always good. The place is very clean. Even though it's usually very busy, there is always an employee cleaning the customer service area and tables. Employees are all polite, as well. LIBC in Mineola has the best bagels. I never thought I would write a review about bagels but after tasting this I had to. I went on a Sunday morning, around 10:00. I was surprised that they have a large parking lot. I waited on a long line that wrapped around the restaurant but I moved quickly. The shop employees had the NYC Marathon on all of their large screen televisions. There are plenty of choices for food and drinks. I was pleasantly pleased. I wasn't sure what I wanted because of all the options. When I saw the variety of cream cheese I wanted a French bagel with cinnamon walnut cream cheese, but then my son pointed out a rainbow bagel. I'd never had a rainbow bagel so that was my choice. When it was time to order I saw the eggs being cooked on the grill and I went for a rainbow bagel with eggs and sausage. The best choice I could have made. After waiting about 5-7 minutes I had my order and left. My son was playing a football game so I didn't have time to eat my bagel. As I was watching his game I was concerned about my bagel because I didn't want it to be either hard from getting cold, or soggy from being wrapped up in foil. After and hour and a half game I couldn't wait to eat my bagel. It was still soft and chewy. Delicious. The eggs were fluffy and the sausage was very flavorful. Where do I begin?? As a New Yorker of course I value a good bagel store. Happy to say I have the best bagel store right near home! I had been going to one in Locust Valley near my job at the time and when I relocated, I was sad to no longer be near a Long Island Bagel Cafe but was elated to hear they were opening in Mineola. Long Island Bagel Cafe has not only the best bagels and a wide variety of cream cheeses, but their deli food is the best as well! Whether I'm in the mood for a bagel, BEC, a deli sandwich with Mac salad, or an iced coffee.... my first choice is always LIBC. Their menu is extensive and all the prepared food is delicious. The cost is comparable to any deli/bagel store. It doesn't get any better. I also have to say that cleanliness is a big deal to me and this store is always very clean! Every since moving from LI I obviously can't get quite the same bagels, so whenever I go back for a visit I make sure to stock up. That's exactly what I did at LIBC- mineola. LIBC is one of my favorite stores as the bagels are always fresh, and the perfect amount of chewy. I love the big parking lot and the super accessible hours. Where they lost a star was in the customer service. In this order in particular I got half a dozen bagels and an egg sandwich. I am allergic to sesame (cross contamination is fine, but I just can't eat it outright), so never in my life have i ordered everything or sesame bagels, so when I saw the employee grab the everything bagels into the bag I asked to confirm - "those were onion bagels, not everything, right?" And I was met with attitude and frustration. I explained I had an allergy and wasn't asking for all new bagels, just two onion instead of the everything she grabbed, and instead of just replacing them I was told "no, that's not what you said." While I know I wouldn't have said it, even if I had I would've thought disclosing it as an allergy would be an immediate "let's correct this mistake" regardless of who was at fault. Ultimately will not stop me from getting li bagels, but may go to another location as it was a frustrating experience. read more
