Of course, Whittier residents remember this bar as Slam Dunk, an OG pinnacle of East Whittier, where you could count on a divey atmosphere, chill staff, and your neighbors coming in for a drink after a long day. In this respect, not much has changed! I commend the Parlor Bar for the upgrades they have made. The inside is clean, the food is incredible, bartenders are skilled, the restrooms are clean, and they even have a private space in the back where you can rent out for parties. $1500 will get you appetizers and bar service for the night. Bring your own DJ! I had the K-Pop tacos, Corn Porn, and the Foreign Cinema. I could eat the K-Pop tacos all day, everyday So good. My group and I ended our night with a game of Pool. Shout out to the bartender (AKA the shot king) for making us some panty droppers. So bomb! Cant wait to go back. read more

Stopped by to watch Monday Night Football at this bar. They have a huge multi-screen display with several televisions behind the bar. They have a good selection of beers and they also have a decent food menu. We ordered a burger, fries and cheese curds. The food was really good. A nice bar in Whittier with live music and pool tables. The house cocktails are great. I even had the virgin versions and they were still great. Some bars were not happy to make me virgin cocktails because it lacked some taste or color but the servers didn't have any problem here. Food came in sharing portion. I think the taste was just ok like they were there just to complete the menu. However, the drinks are really great. read more

Food was good. But we had to ask where to order, and nothing was brought to the table. Had to pick it up from the bartender at the bar. Was asked if we wanted to leave a card for the tab, but we only ordered burgers and 1 soda. Was given the card back but not given a bill to sign. Love this place!! In the afternoon, it's a chill bar with friendly bartenders; a place to have a drink and a bite and listen to some good music and play pool (they have a jukebox). That was the most beautiful burger that I have ever seen. Really delicious food. Perfectly crunch iceberg lettuce, amazing sauce and juicy beef patty. Add crispy fries and you are set. I tried their cucumber drink and it was refreshing. I only got the strawberry drink which was so beautiful. I highly recommended this spot. They got big and free parking. Staff are nice and attentive. They got an attractive happy hours menu. And the prices are affordable and causal. Plus their customers are older and really friendly. We walked in and I wasn't sure this was the place to meet my family on a Sunday afternoon midway between LA and OC but we were immediately greeted by Deanna who was so sweet and said she had a booth for us. I didn't see any booths with the crowd but ok. (Was it a separate room?) We were sat at an updated booth and the food turned out to be pretty good! The menu was on a QR code but she came to take our order. This is a decent local bar that has been upgraded and not a bad place to watch sports. She was very nice and very hospitable and that made all the difference. That's about as good as it gets. read more

I came here with my cousins to watch a Monday night football game and I was pleasantly surprised to see it not crazy full. From the outside you get a really dive-ish bar feel but inside they have plenty of seating both for groups or to pull up on the bar and hang out. The staff was also super friendly and great chatting with, not overly chatty either. Crowd was chill too I didn't see any drunks or too loud groups which is nice. The inside seems to have maybe been updated not too long ago, it was clean, the foot we ordered was great and the drinks were good too. Prices are average, not too pricey or too cheap either but I didn't mind at all. Anyways, I think would definitely be back if I am in the area again. read more

They have lots of TVs and a great place to hangout for the games. Drinks are solid and staff is attentive. There are pool tables and the AC is nice and cool. Our server Arlynene is the sweetest and she took care of our group the whole Friday night. The food is awesome, the wings and the onion rings really hit. A true speakeasy layout bar boasting chic decor, witty neon sayings, and wittier, prettier bartenders than can be found in most fine drinking and dining establishments. The architecture, ambience, and refined furnishings at this hot spot are worth their own 5 star review. There are two main rooms or bar spaces at Parlor Bar. The front room features a full bar, elegant, blue billiards tables, semi-private booths, additional modern chairs and tables near the billiards tables, and plenty of TVs running the big games or events for the day. The front room was spacious, inviting, and remarkably clean when I walked in. An impressive and amusing space. The second room, adjacent to the front room, is set apart by a wall that pushes open rather easily to reveal a second posh bar surrounded with tables. A sign adjacent to the wall reads: Whittier Where The Girls Are Prettier. The possibilities for party time cocktail selfies are obviously endless below this neon pun. That rhymed. This second room contains a most dope audio array perfect for any DJ night or band event. I saw many neatly arranged electro voice and QSC speakers. I bet the hip clientele this place attracts will have scads of happening dance parties under the discoballs in this open space.I noticed there was plenty of floor set apart for dancing, swaying, and cutting loose. I opted to sit at the bar in the front room, have a beer, and assess the staff's version of hospitality. I admit I was pleasantly surprised. The bar staff was exceedingly hospitable, funny, and informative. One of the two bartenders fielded all my random questions about beer, poured me a tasty, cold Lagunitas, and shared a few charming yarns about her most successful costumes from Halloweens past. Needless to say, I enjoyed my time here. read more

2/5 misleading happy hour 5/5 service and atmosphere 4/5 quality of drinks and food. Overall we enjoyed watching game 4 of the World Series here; a ton of TVs and a good amount of space. Our server/bartender was so amazing and speedy even with the crowd. But the biggest disappointment was that Happy Hour prices advertised were clearly not what we were charged, so I'm not sure I'd recommend coming here for the happy hour or maybe just expect to pay close to full price. read more

Everything was beautifully presented, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Our server, Lucy, was warm, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the evening. Manager Denise also made us feel incredibly welcome and took great care of us. From the food and drinks to the atmosphere and hospitality, we had a wonderful experience.
