I heard great things about the donuts and they lived up to the hype. Since it was my husband's birthday, we decided to indulge and get a half dozen. Each of the flavors were unique; so flavorful, flaky, and soft. I think the many layers make them better than regular donuts. The service was fantastic as well. The manager was so sweet and when she found out it was my husband's birthday, she added a little birthday decal to his donut. She also threw in a free donut for us because it was right before Mother's Day. She went above and beyond and made the day memorable. I have been wanting to try this spot since it opened, luckily I finally made it out. It's in a good location and plenty of space inside, if you want merch they have it too. The young lady at the register was very kind and helpful so that was nice because I need input on what to order. Now the doughnuts are a good size with some cool flavors, I got the lemon bar, got my husband the raspberry pistachio, and my daughter the peanut butter cup and we all enjoyed them. I visited with my two siblings and had a terrible experience from start to finish. The two employees at the front were extremely unprofessional and rude. There was no manager on-site, only a "new shift lead" who didn't seem to know what to do. We ordered vegan and gluten-free donuts as requested but were not told they were five days old. Serving products that old especially to someone with dietary restrictions is unacceptable. What made it worse was how the staff behaved. One employee said to my sibling, who has medical issues and cannot eat regular donuts, "Just be normal and eat the normal donuts like us." That comment was insensitive and inappropriate. When I went back to request a receipt, the same employee refused and responded, "No, but did you forget anything else like my phone number?" This was unprofessional and disrespectful. Parlor Doughnuts is a franchise that recently opened in San Antonio and serves some of the most unique doughnuts I've ever seen. For my first time I decided to get their Turtle Cheesecake doughnut and a cold brew. The doughnut was absolutely amazing and baked to perfection. I don't know how they make their dough, but it is fluffy and very filling all at the same time. The blend of the cheesecake with the other ingredients was absolute perfection. The cold brew was VERY strong (and I like my coffee black), so I would probably order something else on my next visit. After a long day of running around, I stopped in to Parlor donuts on my way home to finally try them out. I love how they have a retro and modern feel simultaneously. I absolutely love the decor and the vibe. My husband got a raspberry pistachio doughnut, which was absolutely delicious and better than we expected. I was thinking it was gonna have a big glob of raspberry glaze in the middle, but it's actually in the frosting, and it is very light. It was absolutely wonderful. For myself, I got the maple pecan doughnut, and those pecans tasted so fresh as if they had just been shelled that morning! They had to be the freshest tasting pecans. I've ever tasted on a pastry. And that maple flavor definitely had me wishing it was cooler outside. I also ordered a plain black coffee, and it was a fabulous brew. Very smooth, no bitterness. Great service, my husband had gone up to order another doughnut and it took longer than expected so they gave it to him at no cost and threw another one in for the wait. I stopped in during their grand opening weekend and was pleasantly surprised to see they were already busy! Lots of seating inside and there's a drive thru. So many fresh donuts to choose from. Out of the four I tried, the churro is my favorite so far. It was light and fluffy with just the right amount of toppings to not feel like sugar overload. They also have a few non donut breakfast options if you're not wanting something sweet. For my drink I ordered the white chocolate blondie and that was pretty good. I wouldn't rank this my favorite coffee spot, but glad to have another option closer to home. I'd consider their coffee to be a little bit on the higher priced side. The donuts are $3.95 each and the medium coffee drink was $6.70. Regardless, they were good enough that I'll be back! Can't wait to try more donut flavors read more

The donuts were okay, though definitely overpriced. While it's clear they take pride in their donuts, the overall experience fell short. The restrooms were dirty, and the toilets and tables were wobbly. When restrooms aren't kept clean, it says a lot and makes you wonder about the cleanliness of the kitchen. Because of this, I don't think I'll be coming back. I'm all for supporting small business but they need to make some changes. read more

Having been excited to find a place that offers gluten friendly doughnuts (note, they are not advertised as gluten free - so unclear if an allergy would be safe, only an intolerance), we took a drive to check it out and ordered one gf and one regular. As you can see...the items were not created equal. The gluten free doughnut is more expensive (not unusual for most gf options) and far smaller. For the par, but it additionally was awful. Quite dry and the glaze wasn't flavorful enough nor enough at all to counter the issue. The raspberry filled doughnut was fine, but for the price overall you could go get a whole box of gluten free doughnuts from the HEB freezer section and then swing by their doughnut display for several more regular doughnuts and call it a day. The place is small, but cute, so if what you are looking for is a cute little shop to impress your friends, go for it! However, I don't see that being worth a trip back. read more

Hands down the BEST doughnuts in San Antonio! Very unique and non-traditional doughnuts that really put them in a class of their own. I wanted to check them out to see what the hype was about and although I intended to get 1 doughnut for each of us, I ended up with 4! The raspberry jelly filled was impressive in both the amount of filling and the quality- none of that "artificial" tasting raspberry flavor. Also got raspberry pistachio, blueberry, and maple bacon- none of which were filled but all of which were delicious! The donuts are larger than your typical doughnuts, and we actually shared them over 2 1/2 days and they held up pretty well. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The inside was bright and clean. Sufficient tables if you want to enjoy them there, and a coffee station off to the side. The Cortado I ordered was perfect. The only disappointment I had was that I found out only after the fact that they have an app that earns you points and discounts. No one suggested this to me while I was there, and I opted not to take a receipt in which case I could have added points later. These doughnuts aren't cheap, so earning a little bit here and there is a great incentive. I just wish someone would have told me about it while I was there. This is a national chain, but not a huge one, so you might be able to enjoy them in other places if you travel. I found out there is one near my family in the Midwest! Parlor has renewed our interest in indulging in doughnuts! They even have keto and mini options. read more

The Doughnuts are so fresh and rich with flavor, and also very thick so you need something to wash it down. I recommend milk. Ahhhh..... where to begin? First and foremost, the shop is adorable. Cute atmosphere and while I am not sure, nor did I try to, but it seems like the place where you could pull up a chair and do some work and just hang out. Now, what you've all been waiting for.... The Doughnuts are out of this world; the first thing you see is that all of them are about 2 1/2 inches thick and they are heavenly, delightful, and eating makes you feel like you have no care in the world, like it's the perfect hair day and your bank account is overflowing with cash. The dough is 'slightly' sweet, but not overly so. They are ever so lightly crispy on the outside, light and just enough fluff on the inside. The sandy beach and French toast options are different yet both had cinnamon roll flavor. Think, mom makes cinnamon rolls and your auntie makes them and the recipes are different yet both are delectably delightful in their own way. The Turtle is turtley with smooth velvet like frosting, just enough to make your mouth water and beg for more. I tried the raspberry filled one today and it too did not disappoint. The raspberry tasted like homemade jam, not chemically-fake-plastic taste like a prepackaged roll from the Quick trip. Now for the down side: Y'all aren't eating these in the car without a bib and a HUGE napkin for your lap! (or you can and then head to the car wash to vacuum off your seats) I couldn't recommend them enough! You have to try, you will not be disappointed, they are worth every penny. They are layered and much more substantial and denser compared to the typical ones you will find elsewhere. I had the drip coffee, and it is far above average as a house medium roast. I didn't try a specialty coffee or espresso, but the setup appears to be high-end for making those. The staff is very friendly and care about what they do. This is just the kind of cafe you want in your neighborhood, with a retro, bright atmosphere.
