French onion pasta & beef Wellington burger

We returned to parlor house for Valentine's Day last night. The food was absolutely unreal- as we remembered- but the ambiance has totally flipped! When we were here last (as you can see in the attached photos) there were dark curtains blocking out the very casual plaza, white table cloths, dimmer lighting, and a stage at the front for live jazz music. It really felt transformative and intimate. This time when we walked in we were greeted by a beta fish tank which was incredibly odd lol, all of the curtains were wide open, no live music, wooden tables, confusing decor, it was super bright and so, sooo so loud. Tables were crammed together and you could tell the kitchen and bar were struggling with volume. I wouldn't mention this at all if the entrees weren't 50$. For the very pricy food and cocktails you expect an elevated interior- and the vibe felt really confusing. It's a shame because the food is exceptional- something to keep in mind if you're looking for a romantic date night. Excellent food romantic vibes Still worth trying if you're in the area- just adjust expectations. Dress code online business casual but folks were mostly in shorts and t-shirts.

We actually dined here for our anniversary, December 30th. I wanted to write a glowing review then but I sadly can't remember my servers name. He was FABULOUS! I'm so sorry, wish I knew his name. He was the only male server there at the time so hopefully he gets credit. We made a reservation for dinner & walked in about 6:30pm. We waited only a minute maybe at the podium. It's in a strip mall which is odd for such an upscale place but it was kind of business casual not formal. We were seated in a comfy booth by our server. There was even a card sitting on the table, signed by the staff for our anniversary. Very sweet. This was our first time here so he showed us various specials on the menu. They had NYE specials since it was the 30th so we ordered from that. The drink menu is very small but I'm confident the bartender could have made me anything I asked for. We did not order bread, it's not included but we also did not want to fill up on it. I was dying to try the onion soup & was actually glad he recommended the mini size. It allowed us to try the soup but not fill up on it. I would totally return just for this soup! It wasn't long before our dinners were ready. Once it was in front of me I was honestly shocked at the raw beef but, it was truly seared & sliced to give it that presentation. I normally will not touch rare beef but this was actually delicious! The food was so good & fresh. The drinks were strong, not watered down at all. I actually had to get a Togo box for half my meal but it was a great lunch the next day. We did take home desserts as well which were also perfect. Our dinner was $200 which is quite steep but it was our anniversary & we truly enjoyed it. We will definitely return. I wish they did carry out for the soup. I think I'd order it every week if they did.. Overall I have zero complaints. The ambiance is not overly stiff either. They've made it so it's a mix of casual & elegance combined. If you'd like to dress up, go for it! Thank you, Parlor House for an amazing anniversary dinner.

Amazing Happy Hour! Jessica's infused cocktails are inspired. And Chef Ryan Steffensmeier knocked it out of the park with his beef crostini with house made pepper jam. And his Croque Monsieur with luscious egg yolk dip and Gruyère sauce on the side was crispy and decadent. We also topped it off with an order of the soup trio for a perfect evening. And that soup trio was out of this world. Thanks for offering such a fun option with your great food and a wonderful staff

    Bar area with friends

My husband hosted my 75th birthday here with 50+ of our closest friends and family. Ryan, owner and chef, could not have been more gracious as a host, or provided a more delicious buffet. Everything was perfect! He suggested a fantastic DJ who play great dance music. The food was amazing. From the perfectly done "huge" shrimp cocktail to the selection of side dishes, the beef and chicken were flavorful, juicy and tender. Nothing like you would normally have at a buffet. Our guests were amazed. Ryan even made my favorite white cake with white icing. The servers were so gracious and accommodating. I cannot say enough good things about this lovely restaurant.

    Duck Tortellini

Delicious food, nice ambiance and great service from Coco. We enjoyed soups for starters, then the duck tortellini and lamb meatball sub mains. All were delicious. Cant wait to go back to try the happy hour pork belly nachos and $4 drafts.

    Duck confit

Steak tartar was super fresh and so many options for topping each perfect bite. The cheeseburger Wellington was the star dish, perfectly cooked burger, crispy, flaky pastry, and the fries were some of the best I've had lately. Béarnaise sauce and the Gruyere sauce were perfect for dipping both the Wellington and fries. Duck confit was fall off the bone tender. Apple crumble cheesecake was light and creamy. Cute place, we will be back!

I can't believe we've missed this hidden gem. Everything was great. Server was outstanding, the place was decorated very nicely for the season. Then the food was great. The charcuterie board was excellent, the special elk also excellent. Then for dessert bananas foster. We will be back!

Certainly a chef driven restaurant. Don't let the location of a strip mall fool you, it's beyond a tremendous experience. Food was amazing from start to finish. wine list was heavy on the French selections (it's a French cafe after all) but had some great domestic choices as well. Can't say enough good things about this restaurant. Our gluten allergies were acknowledged and selections for us were plentiful. Great dinner!!

First time here and it was perfect from start to finish. Jessica, my bartender/server, was amazing. She had suggestions from app to dessert, and was impeccable with her service throughout my meal. Though I did not indulge in the libations, the other guests were raving about her crafting skills. The food was everything you would want for a French Inspired establishment, and reminded this Cajun of being home again in Baton Rouge. Even the ambience of this lil cozy restaurant made everything even more perfect. Def will be back myself, and recommend to anyone looking for high quality cuisine in the Dunedin area!

Excellent food and service. Easily one of my favorite meals in Dunedin and really Tampa.

Parlor House deserves all the accolades. This place is a diamond in the rough. I can see the care they take into their approach to their menu items, especially the specials. Jess is an amazing bartender/mixologist. She cares. She has crafted some really great holiday special drinks to enjoy. I especially liked the fireside old fashion. She brought Maple bitters from Virginia, especially to make this drink. Wellcrafted. Let's venture onto their soup flight. I can't say enough about the French onion... One of the best renditions I've had. Their broccoli and cheese is exceptional as well. You can tell they use high quality ingredients to make these soups. They put thought into the menu, the experience they want you to have and you can tell. Everyone we spoke to at the bar was a regular. They come back time and time again. This place is amazing.

Good, but nothing special - Almond Old Fashioned - this was nice. The almond was a nice change from a normal old fashioned Appetizers/Entrees: - Prosciutto & Date Flatbread - this had a nice amount of proscuitto, but there was too much balsamic dressing as it overpowered the whole dish - Spanish Octopus - TINY! It has nice flavor, but there's not a lot of octopus in it, which defeats the purpose - Seared Sesame Ahi Tuna - very nice flavor, but they only gave 6 pieces of tuna and 3 wonton chips for nearly $30 - Cedar Plank Salmon - best thing we got. It's the only dish that had the perfect amount of everything and was enjoyable to eat. The cedar gives the salmon a very nice flavor - Port Wine Glazed Pork Osso Bucco - disgusting mushroom risotto. Pork was undercooked so we had to send it back to be fixed. Came back cooked correctly and tasted decent. They gave a good amount of pork. This place is ridiculously pricey for the small amount you get for most of the dishes. Lots of issues with our visit and it just isn't a relaxing place to eat with how loud it gets. 2.5 stars overall.

Upon entering, I was struck by how small the space was, but it's cozy and intimate, and I understand exactly why it's been voted the most romantic restaurant around. It was our wedding anniversary, and we were acknowledged for 22 years of marital bliss. We were seated in the back left corner booth - THE prime table for two, right next to the sommelier station. We were promptly greeted by Sean, our server. There are some people you just know, from the moment they greet you, will take great care of you all evening. Sean has that rare tableside manner that blends personality, hospitality, and professionalism that exemplify the truly elevated dining experience. His presentation of the menu was practically an oration, painting a vivid picture of each dish, activating the cephalic phase of digestion. We started with his recommendation, a goat cheese bite for hors d'oeuvres. I'm still not sure what the base was, but it set the tone as the catalyst for every flavor that followed. For starters, my wife and I both chose the bisque: an onion-and-potato-based delight. I honestly don't remember what was in it, and honestly, I didn't care; it was perfection. From there, my wife went with the Black Pearl salad while I opted for the Caesar, curious to try their take on the classic. Her choice was the clear winner. The Caesar was generous and beautifully plated, but not the standout of the night. During his presentation, Sean claimed the filet was the best in Tampa Bay. Naturally, we had to find out for ourselves. Served Pittsburgh style, it did not disappoint - the heavy char deepened the juicy, flavor-packed bite with every cut. Best filet in Tampa Bay? It has my endorsement! Finally, dessert. We finished strong with the Banana Foster, a recipe with origins from the owner's grandmother. We also went with the Tarte Tatin, reportedly the most popular dessert on the menu for the past 18 years, per Sean. Once again, extraordinary. We're used to heading into Tampa or St. Pete for elevated dining. So happy we found this "pearl" right in our own backyard. Take my money!

I was told "there will be at least a 10-15 minute wait, to give my name, and to wait outside." I thought maybe there were enough people waiting already to take up the empty tables, but that wasn't the case. We sat outside in the cold waiting and watching the guy stand at the bar doing nothing to help bus the empty tables, some of which were right by the window. After 15 minutes or more, we were finally called in last walking by the same uncleared tables, led to another table as the table cloth was being placed on it, no menus, no apology for the extra long (unnecessary) wait outside in the cold. When we finally placed our order, we waited some more. Finally our server said "there was a mix up and our order had not gone through." When Mom's favorite seared salmon finally arrived, it was dry and overcooked. I have never written a bad review on Yelp in my life. But, I hated to see my precious Mom & Brother treated this way. When speaking with our server, she informed us that management classifies the waitstaff as 1099 independent contractors, meaning they receive a $0 hourly base rate from the restaurant and rely entirely on this mandatory guest fee for their paycheck.I have a physical copy of the check showing this automatic fee. While the sign claims this "supports our team," classifying standard restaurant servers as 1099 workers instead of W-2 employees is a massive red flag that contradicts federal Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) guidelines. Independent contractors set their own hours and operations; servers do not. Furthermore, a restaurant cannot legally leave a server's direct hourly base wage at zero by relying entirely on automatic service fees.We love supporting local staff, but we want our money going to businesses that respect basic labor laws and compensate their employees legally. Hopefully, public pressure will force management to fix their payroll structure. The server said the restaurant was on the verge of bankruptcy and had to make changes. Sadly they chose to break the law. On that note the service was lovely, the food very tasty. I asked to sub corn for flour tortias and she was able. We don't directly live in the area, and its been a while since we've been here. Its always good, with good portions and not a chain. Its so unfortunate.

It is a small cafe tucked behind a convenience store. This was about 10:20 on a Tuesday. It is a small but quaint cafe, only two tables were occupied, so seated right away. The server brought us waters and menus. We browsed the good number of items. Now I do love quiche, and it looked great, but my interest went to the Shirted Eggs. New to me. So I went for that. My wife chose the Veggie Omellette, but changed when they did not have Salsa. So she picked the Blueberry French Toast instead. We chatted for a bit and I took photos. Shortly our meals came. I thought the Shirred Eggs would be scrambled but they were added to the bacon and heavy cream, unbroken, so cooked but juicy, and topped with cheddar. It was delicious. And the warm, toasted, baguette was superb. My wife really enjoyed her French Toast, lots of fresh blueberries, fluffy and fantastic. I wish we tried their coffee also but already had several cups this morning. Then we looked around for a baked goods display since server told us they made their own baked goods. None out but they had fresh croissants, so we got a regular and a chocolate to go. Now my wife was driving today, so couldn't resist tasting my regular croissant. Yum. It was still warm and flaky, but I only had 1 bite. Quaint place, nice decorations, great service, great food. Check it out! Plus a nice military discount!

I also bought a baguette (which he said he imports from France and bakes on premise. Great place for breakfast or lunch. FYI, there are probably a dozen tables inside for dine-in. The owner is a happy and very friendly host from the French Caribbean.
