I love Parlor! It's great coming here with a group of people because everyone can get what they want. I have been here for dinner and a few times for lunch- it is definitely much more crowded on the weekend. The prices are a little high in my opinion, but portion sizes are big. Sura Eats is definitely my favorite option- love the Bibimbap, Kimchi Fried Rice, and Japchae. The food is also ready very quickly. I really enjoy the empanadas at Karbon. The tacos are not really a good value. I tried to the Osaka Style Okonomiyaki from Yaki Ya and it was not my favorite. I also had to wait 20 minutes for my food and it was not that busy. Definitely would recommend going to Parlor and trying out all the different places! read more

Like idiots we arrived full from dinner. The variety of food through out is worth coming back soon for. They have something for everyone and it the smells were very appealing. They have both indoor and outdoor (covered second floor) seating. Cozy places to sit like chairs and couches plus booths, tables and bars. My only complaint was their cocktail drink menu. Great concept in the Crossroads...came during the week and there were a few people here. That being said it did start to fill up after 530..the post- work rush. Plenty of seating,heated patio on the 2nd floor. And alcohol is served via the bars on both floors. Crowd was mixed with young and old so come as you are.... For my first visit I tried out the Mothe Clucker...made to order, you tell them how hot and what you want on your sandwich as well as sides. They give you a text when your food is ready so you can cat h a table in the meantime. Plenty of TVs and music playing to keep you occupied. My food was ready in under 10 minutes and was very tasty and fresh. Seasoned right the chicken and sauces melted in my mouth with each bite.I highly recommend their sandwich. Although a little pricey with fries($16) it was worth the tasting experience. Afterwards I went to the bar and ordered a drink. This is my first time to Parlour KC. There was plenty of seating on the first and second floor of the building. A great place to hang out with family Ana friends. I decided to check Farm to Market and ordered the Sourdough Turkey Club and substitute the potato chips with French fries. I love their sourdough bread and the avocado spread in the sandwich. Also, we ordered the brioche waffle with strawberries and vanilla ice cream. It was a highlight. I recommend trying the waffle. We also tried the okonomiyaki Osaka style with pork. The pancake was fluffy with good amounts of pork. I wish it was little bigger. read more

I am so happy that Parlor exists. I believe it's one of the only (if not THE only?) food hall in Kansas City. There are two floors, I believe a third in the works, a deck and fun, colorful, modern decor. Parlor is fantastic for groups. No one has to agree on what you are all eating - you can go to any of the seven restaurants or two bars! You can go back and hang out at your table and they'll text you when your food is ready to be picked up (or if you're old school you can stand and wait near the restaurant). Providence Pizza is my favorite, with slices as big as my head, but Mother Clucker is a close second with their highly caloric and indulgent dessert shakes. They're wild. Those don't sound good? Awesome place. A bit hard to describe. It has permanent vendors on 2 floors - like stalls in a food hall - but permanent. There are also 3 bars with excellent staff and skills. You can open tabs, or just get a drink then go grab something to eat. It's all very easy. All the vendors use a text system to tell you when your order is ready. What's different here is the seating and atmosphere. It's really really nice. You can opt for a private lounge-ish space, sit at the bar, a booth, a high-top - whatever works. The atmosphere is just nice. I can't think of anything quite like it. Think of going to a really nice bar with a choice of outstanding food. This is an interesting spot. I have been to food halls like this in other cities and usually it's the younger,hipster, type crowd flooding the place and I am one of the oldest people there in my mid 30s. Well here, it was the opposite. I was one of the younger people here and the place was flooded with people in their 40s and 50s looking for a cool place to go. Door signs like "Yasss Girl" and "Sup Fellas" truly show how while trying to be cool and in, has already dated itself. As far as food goes, I like the variety: sandwiches, pizza, fried chicken, Korean, Japanese, Scandinavian, and Latin American food. The fried chicken seemed like the most popular, so I tried Mothercluckers. The sandwich is huge, like too big for 1 person, and the sauce that says "a little bit of kick" was pretty hot and I like spicy food! I thought it was overall fine, but didn't wow me. Also got a slice of pizza for my kids, it was NYC style. It was solid and for $4 probably the best value in the whole place. Bartenders were friendly and it was easy to get a drink and close out a tab. Probably the best aspect of this place. Basically a high end food court. Very well done. Hipster, trendy vibe. The crowd on Sunday night was a mix of 20 - 30 somethings. We had our kids with us, but no one seemed to mind. Other families were eating there as well. It was very busy, so I'm not sure I'd want to navigate the place with really little kids trailing behind me. The interior is fun and inviting. Good place for a date night or meeting up with friends. Love they everyone can pick different styles of food and meet back up to enjoy their meal together. Lots of food choices to pick from. Not much vegan food, but I was too full from our last stop to eat, so that wasn't a problem. If I was going to eat I'd probably go for the Oyster Mushroom Po'boy from the sandwich place. It's on my list of "must consume soon" foods. My kids had a Captain Crunch Shake and wings from Mother Clucker. Service was sooooooo slow at this place. My husband and son had been here before and Mother Clucker was just as slow then. It's good chicken, my son adores it, but the cost and wait time make me think "meh" about the place. While this place isn't necessarily my speed or style (read: introvert's worst nightmare), it was fun to see what all the fuss is about. I went here last week for drinks with a colleague. The parking is tricky, but the location is fun! Inside, we ordered a couple of apps from Ting's, they were prepared very well and I wanted to order much more. The service was not 100% spot on, hence the 4-stars instead of 5, it felt like even though we were at a table 20 feet from the bar, it was not in any server's section. We've been out here severance times starting from the opening week. It's a really cool space, two stories with a bit of a high end European furniture store feel when you entered and then transitioning to a higher end food court concept spread out over two stories, dotted with two bats, a variety of seating types including bleachers in one area upstairs, and hotel bar style sofa areas. The food options are definitely solid. Loved the Japanese place downstairs, the chicken skewers and pancakes were excellent and authentic to our experience in Japan. The Korean place upstairs has really good bibimbap and I was not disappointed by the japchae. Be sure to douse your food with the spicy sauce. Mother Cluckers had a ridiculous line and puts out a good spicy chicken sandwich, but we were not blown away. Providence pizza is worth a stop for the Detroit style crust in white or red. We dove into the white. The crust is like nothing you've had before. It's like a pan crust on steroids that has been encrusted in parmesan and fried to the outside edge. That being said, the pizza was missing something we couldn't put our finger on. We went back and bought a side of pesto, which helped a little. Maybe some pepper flakes or some type of salty meat. Definitely needed a little help. This is definitely a fun place to meet up. Super busy on weekend nights, moderately busy on weekend days, and with a slightly more upscale, smaller crowd on weeknights, this is a great addition to KC modeled after the European style food halls. read more

A great first visit for us at Parlor. The concept is smart and forward thinking. A food hall with communal dining, seating and bar space. Be prepared for limited parking around this Crossroads district business. Lots of unfinished lots across the street but a small off-street lot and street parking options in the blocks around the building. Fresh seating and a welcome desk greet visitors. A helpful team member was at the desk when we arrived and quickly gave us a run down of what to expect. To get started, we toured the entire business space to explore the menus of the 7 restaurants and 2 bars. There were helpful bar menus and descriptions of each restaurant on every table top. The first floor features a large bar, living room-style seating sections, dining space and 3 restaurants (Providence Pizza Co, Farm to Market Sandwich Co and Yaki-Ya). A main staircase rises from the middle of the first floor and opens up to a large second floor. The second floor features more dining space, 4 restaurants (Karbón, Sura Eats, Mother Clucker and Vildhäst) lining the exterior walls, the second bar and a large open-air patio space. With a variety of restaurant options, we chose Farm to Market Sandwich Co. We ordered an Italian Sub, Turkey Club and fries to share. As we ordered, the cashier collected a cell phone number so they could text us when the order was ready. A great thing about this bar set up. We could open a tab and utilize both bars on the same tab. Easy to use. Easy to manage. Our food was ready in less than 10 minutes. Fries were fresh and well-seasoned. The sandwich and sub were hearty and filling. As we ate, we saw many people converge on the space for the lunch hour. Lots of great potential with this kind of business structure. Hopeful for easier parking options in the future. We are looking forward to another visit to further explore the menus of the remaining businesses. read more

The atmosphere is great. There's a lot more seating upstairs than there is down, and a nice big room full of windows in the front end upstairs. There a bar and multiple restaurants on both floors. All of the staff was incredibly friendly. What I like about the food options is that while it's technically a food court, it's a fancy one. So you're not going to find chain fast food restaurants, but tasty original spots. Another great thing about this is it appeals to all pallets. Those who are more adventurous with food have many different traditional multi-national cuisines to choose from, and those who are less adventurous have classic pizza, gourmet sandwiches, and fried chicken options. You can please your whole group in one stop. I had the Chile Cheese sandwich from Farm to Market. It was delicious, 5 stars for sure, and would definitely order again. The fries were beautifully seasoned and they made it all to order. I wasn't a fan of the drink I ordered from the bar, but oh well. I would say it's maybe a little overpriced per person, it was more expensive than what my parents and I pay for the three of us when we go out but you're paying for the unique atmosphere. read more

It makes me so happy when Kansas City adds another feature that makes it seem a little more like a big city. Parlor is a food hall type experience which is a modern trend in many other big cities including Atlanta and Boston. The execution of this food hall is wonderful in regards to the location and interior. It is situated in an area of Crossroads that continues to grow and has great hours, especially for late night meals! The building is huge, and the interior decoration creates a fun and lively environment. The only downfall is the parking that can be difficult to find on busy nights. There are a multitude food options include Asian cuisines, fried chicken which is quite popular, deli sandwiches, and more! Parlor also has an extensive drink menu, and thankfully they have started a happy hour where drinks are half off. All in all, I do feel that the prices are quite high for the restaurants and drinks, but I do believe you pay for both the food and the experience. The system is extremely efficient as you order your food and find a place to sit while your food is being prepared. Each restaurant will then text you when your food is prepared which only took about 5 minutes when I ordered at Sura Eats. I only hope they can find a way to expand the restaurant selection or menus as I feel like right now it is overpowered by Asian cuisines. Nonetheless, Parlor is a place I could see myself enjoying for many hours, and don't forget to check out the view from the second floor when you're there! read more

Really cool idea to have a two story food court inside this historic building. I met a friend here and it was the perfect place to do so - especially if you have a group, everyone can get what they want from the various vendors and be happy. They have a number of restaurants and two bars, one on each floor. On the Sunday afternoon we went, they had live entertainment downstairs and the patio was open upstairs. We tried the neapolitan/Detroit style pizza place Providence on the first floor, and the Korean food on the second floor. Having never tried Detroit style pizza, I opted for that. It was delicious but intense - very cheesy! My friend's Korean bowl looked fresh and delicious and he was happy with it. We'll definitely return to try some of the other offerings. Street parking in the Crossroads neighborhood was pretty easy, and we were really happy with all the friendly staff as well. read more

I have always enjoyed the vibe of parlor, but today was not it. the quality has gone down at this place since its opening. some tables weren't clean, the floor was sticky, the ceiling was dripping, and there were a few wet spots I slipped on. then to top it off, I ordered a mojito (which was an EGREGIOUS 12$ plus a tip to ultimately taste mediocre) , took the smallest sip and accidentally knocked the glass over and broke it. the bartender didn't offer to remake one or make one for half off.. nothin. especially after getting a really nice tip. so yeah that was pretty damn rude. it was the non-binary bartender upstairs, w the very long hair and flashy facial hair. read more

As soon as I walked into Parlor's front door, I turned around and checked the name on the building, I thought that I had wandered into a cool furniture store. The décor and design is gorgeous and inviting, this isn't a shopping mall food court. I went during the Chiefs game and the customers were very sparse, so I had no wait at the 2 restaurants I tried - 1 was a hit, one was a miss. Cool spot! Came here on a Friday afternoon - wasn't crowded or busy. There is a bar, two food stalls & lots of seating on the first floor. Upstairs there is another bar, four food stalls & again seating with an added patio type seating area. All different options: fried chicken, burgers, pizza, Asian fusion, healthy. I checked out the upstairs bar & the burger joint (Ravenous). I sat "outside" in the patio area. It appears that during summer/fall the windows could roll open allowing it to be an indoor/outdoor feel. Super happy with food/drinks & just the over all feel of this place. Ah, Parlor! A cocktail and upmarket-style food court, similar to that of the Milk Market (Denver, CO) or Aster Hall (Chicago, IL). This place is a short walk from the microbreweries and local distilleries and blends right in with the Crossroads Arts District and wall art. Parlor's main attraction is it's lounge-style food court and cocktail bar. It features 2 full-bars and 7 culinary storefronts ranging from organic/farm-to-table, middle-eastern, Korean skewers, Scandinavian, Italian and good 'ol American Chicken. It's heated-sunroom is an added bonus in the winters, located behind the 2nd floor bar. They feature all day happy hours on weekends, and rotating craft beers and wines. Their cocktail expertise differs, as I personally favor the bar on the first floor. There are adequate number of TVs on both floors (including the sunroom), making this a relaxing environment for sports. All-in-all, Parlor has quickly become one of Kansas City's favorite happy hour and day time destinations. It's attention to modern design, makes you feel like you're trendy. Food menu items definitely reflect that too. It's good for all ages, but clearly targeted at the 20-30 something's. It's a nice place to go for those visiting from out of town. The GOOD: - Rotating Craft Beers (including non-KC beer!) - Happy Hours - Good for Groups, easy to spend 1-2 hours here, after brunch or work - Clean restrooms on both levels (and I'm a guy saying this!) - Open till midnight on Thursdays-Saturdays The BAD: - Small parking lots, leaving you to street parking - Cocktail prices are expensive for the quality Given this, the Goods outweigh the Bads, and Parlor clearly hold true to it's motto, "Drink, Eat, Repeat." About time Kansas City has a food hall. It's a great first effort, too. The space is bright, beautiful, and very colorful. The selection of food is vast (Scandinavian? Korean?) and it's at a good price point from what I can see. There are a lot of great seating options, inside and out, and two bars for each floor. I grew up on food halls like these, albeit not as stunning. I love the variety it offers and the sense of community. I haven't tried all of the food, but I give it five stars for its ambitiousness and use of space. I want to visit and stay. I want to invite my friends and stay. Get the point? The one place I've tried is the Korean comfort food. I had the Bi Bim Bap and it was deceptively big. The flavors were good and I had no complaints, mainly because I'm choosing to love this place. Fresh veggies and delicious egg and meat. It was a little pricey but we expected that. The other downside was a possible glitch. We had one order on our phone but it was from 2 different restaurants. One restaurant notified me when our food was ready, but the other one never did. We got the food, but should have been texted and never were. Great experience overall though. We tried the place out today, we really enjoyed it. It was a really nice day so we decided to try it out. What a fun place with lots of food options. We stayed safe and got the Detroit pizza from Providence Pizza and the Chicken sandwich from Mother Cluckers. Both were very good.
