They had a few vintage clothing vendors one night which I loved. Different areas to sit depending on your vibe. Food has never hit the spot for me here. The only thing I have found to be delicious each time is tater tots from Ravenous! My friend ordered from Hungry Hatch and her meal was a shrimp taco and curry chicken taco. Her words " Shrimp was good, but nothing special. The chicken had a decent kick to it. I'm visiting KC for the weekend and Parlor was the perfect place to go for my first night in town! It's a huge place and they have something for everyone. They have a great system where you can spread out and go wherever and then you just get a text when your food is ready and you can go grab it. There are both indoor and outdoor options for seating and you seat yourself. The service was awesome and the drinks were super yummy. Definitely a great place for a quality drink and bite to eat. Ambiance: Came here for dinner with a group of friends and had a decent time. It's a galley/food court style place with numerous restaurants you can order from and eat communally. There are different restaurants on each floor so make sure to scope all your options, and seating is first-come first serve so maybe have someone reserve a table if you have a big group. When we came, there was a DJ playing good music however it was pretty loud and echo-y which made talking across a table very difficult. They do have a patio however it is reserved for private parties. Food: I got the slideshow sliders option and really enjoyed it. There was a snafu where someone grabbed my order because they were very similar so I had to wait for them to make a new order of Korean fries. The sliders however were all excellent with juicy smash patties. The truffle mushroom was my favorite with an amazing savory flavor while the Hawaiian pulled pork could've done with a stronger pineapple flavor. The Korean fries were fun but I was hoping for more heat like a spicy gochujang sauce or hot kimchi but it's mostly savory ground beef with a sriracha-like mayo. The fries are larger cut and get soggy somewhat quickly with the topping so don't wait too long to eat them. Be warned the fries are pretty hefty and can easily be shared among 2-3 people or eaten alone as a meal. Overall this is pretty fun and trendy place to visit that lets people pick their own food adventure. It may be difficult to hold deep conversations if you're in a big party given how echo-y the place is but otherwise definitely worth a try. read more

This is the most posh indoor food market I've been to. Plenty of different seating and ambience options. We chose the patio out back and it has a great view. The food is more expensive than the rest of the city, but pretty good. We got there early and not every restaurant was ready to serve but found gluten free options. It's the perfect spot for any group - from a workweek lunch with coworkers to weekend hangs with friends, and friends of friends. The vibe at Parlor is lively and on trend. I can't be in a bad mood at Parlor, it's just too bright, energetic, and poppin'. Kansas City's hottest food hall, Parlor has 7 restaurants and 2 bars including: Buns Up, Mother Clucker, Farm to Market Sandwich Co, Karbon, Mudbug 2.0, Providence Pizzeria, and Sura Eats. While Mother Clucker's chicken is truly melt-in-your-mouth good, there are days I find myself craving Sura Eats' spicy pork BIBIMBAP bowl. My mouth waters just thinking about Providence Pizzeria's cheesy masterpieces. And the Farm to Market sandwiches look divinely fresh. I haven't had the pleasure of trying or seeing food from the other spot yet, but I have no doubt they are worthy competitors. Parlor can get pretty busy at peak times, but I have yet to not be able to find a place to put myself. From lounge spaces, bar seating, booths, tables, drink rails, and tiered seating for watching "the game," there's as much seating for every group as there is types of food. My favorite place to sit is the upstairs outdoor patio - even in the cold it's busy and warm with heaters. Staff is friendly and attentive. There is a front receptionist to help you out if it's your first time or you have questions. Once you've made the very difficult decision of where to eat, order at the respective counter, they will take your phone number and text you when your food is ready. In the meantime, head to the bar and order a drink. By the time you grab a drink at the bar and find a seat for your group you should get the text that your food is ready to be picked up from the counter your ordered at. Food and drinks aren't too cheap or too expensive - my point is, your tab can get up there if you're not careful. Parlor hosts Karaoke Night Monday's from 7-10pm, KC Crew Cornhole League Sunday's at 5pm and Tuesday's at 7pm, Geeks Who Drink Thursday's at 8pm, and live music every Friday and Saturday nights. "Modern food hall on 3 levels offering a variety of casual & creative dining options, plus 2 bars." While all the food choices were delicious, there was nowhere to sit. I mentioned to the hostess, trying not to be "Karen", that there were several larger tables with only one person seated, drinking a beer and reading a book, oblivious to the fact that there were many people walking around with full plates of food looking for a seat. I like this space! Lots of couches, tables, chairs and space to spread out. The vibe is very relaxed - you can be sitting at the bar and never feel like you are in a food parlor (food court). We ordered from Providence Pizza - had the Little Rhody and would say it was excellent! Great flavor combinations. We ordered an old fashioned from the bar downstairs and even though it was on tap, it was a decent drink. It felt a little weird not to have the bartender involved, but I guess it also takes the guesswork out of your drink. We will return! read more

This place is insanely cool!!! We went with a group of 8 on a Friday night at about 7 pm - they had live music and many tables open. I loved the moment when I walked in and it was just a "wow....." Factor. There are many couches and a very homely feel right when you walk in. From there it goes into a long bar on the side with tables at the back with 3 different restaurants at the back. Then a huge staircase up the center to go into 5 more options for dinner and a bar down at the very end of the upstairs area. Choices are excellent. I ended up getting the sandwich and fries from mother clucker (to absolutely die for....) super impressed. And hubs got a noodle bowl and a skewer from a place downstairs. I love this concept! There's several restaurants inside the 2-story building. Seating is all around, and it's seat yourself. We went around 6pm on a Saturday, and while it was busy, none of the lines were more than 5 people deep. Some places didn't have lines at all. We wandered around to look at all the menus. There's a good variety: pizza (that looked incredible), hot fried chicken, Korean, Japanese, Mexican fusion, sliders, sandwiches, etc. I decided on Sura, which was the Korean place. I've been really enjoying Bibimbap in general lately so that's what I ordered from Sura, beef bibimbap. It didn't take but maybe 10 minutes for my food to be ready. They take your phone number and text you when it's ready. I grabbed some gochujang and what I think was sesame oil and found a table. My food was really good! The pieces of beef were pretty large and everything was seasoned really well. I really enjoyed the gochujang and oil being mixed in. Mine was $12 I think and well worth it. It was a ton of food! My husband went to the slider place, Buns Up. He got the 4 sliders and loaded tator tots. For the sliders, he got the midwestern, the classic, and the 2 black & blue sliders. He says the beef was good quality. The buns were nice, and the condiments were good. The slider with blue cheese had an entire slice of blue cheese. He liked it a lot because crumbles would have fallen off the burger but the slice didn't because it melted to the burger. The tator tots was a large portion with nacho-type cheese, some sort of secret sauce and caramelized onions. This could have been a meal by itself. I had a little bit of this and really enjoyed it. There are bars throughout the place that have the same drink menu. My husband got a Tessellation IPA which was really citrusy. It was $6.50, which is a little pricey but could be worse. Overall, we will be coming back because we really enjoyed the food and there's still several other restaurants we haven't tried. Plus it is extremely close to CrossroadsKC which is usually our reason for coming to Kansas City in the first place. Definitely recommend! read more

What a great concept! You can find hundreds of restaurants with good food and decent service around KC and surrounding areas - but Parlor brings the unique. One large venue hosts small rentable counter restaurants, almost like a giant indoor food truck scene. Local owners creating their favorite cuisine with personal twists left and right. They have a full bar on both levels with great food options on both. You can walk around and everyone in your party can find SOMETHING they like. No doubt. We visited Sura, the Korean grill and Karbón, a mix of Turkish and Mexican flavors and concepts. (Menu in my pictures). Parlor adds something hip AF to the east side of the Crossroads; a food hall with seven unique spots, a rooftop patio, a bar, loads of TVs, and a fresh energy. I was excited when I heard about this concept as many other cities have spaces like this. What's most intriguing is that there are such unique food options in here. You've got hand made noodles alongside savory Japanese pancakes at Yaki-Ya. Who knew there was a 'Detroit-style' pizza? I didn't, but Providence Pizza slings a delicious looking one. Scandinavian eats, Farm-to-Market sandwiches, on and on. This feels like the perfect spot on a sunny afternoon to come down and grab a drink with friends. If I'm honest, as someone with a toddler this won't call me as much as it would've ten years ago, but that's alright because it's got a wide appeal for many. I'm totally digging the Parlor's food court bar on steroids concept, with plenty or seating and lounging areas scattered throughout the two story renovated brick building, it's the perfect place for hanging out with friends, catching up on your Yelp reviews, or just chilling on the rooftop patio. It host plenty of screens, decent WiFi, and seven different food options to satisfy your snacking appetite (see photos for all 7 menus). I mentioned there was a fully stocked bar, right? I checked out the Providence Pizza stromboli and wasn't disappointed. They hand roll the dough and bake up a delicious combo of Italian meats with a side of sauce for dipping. It was pretty tasty. If you're looking for a cool, hip place to meet friends for a happy hour, catch the game, or connect up before the next big concert, the Parlor should definitely make your short list. However, a word of caution if you are no longer in your twenties, just because it looks like you can sit in it doesn't necessarily mean you should. Down in the Crossroads a caldera of food choices are housed in a two-floor space called Parlor (I think I've seen it as 'ParlorKC' as well as 'The Parlor'). A very welcoming and current style of decor and furnishings is spread across both floors, with a mix of seating and table options. Two full bars, one up, one down, serve an extensive drink menu with a fair array of draft and bottled beer options. Wine drinker? You're in luck, because it's nicely appointed beyond your normal social gathering options (i.e., Merlot or Chardonnay?) and a very friendly happy hour highlights the drink of the day, discounted and hand-crafted. So it is a food court, per se, and not your mall-style fare (sit down, Sbarro). The range of offerings go from friend chicken/other chicken, Japanese pancakes (okonomiyaki - say that three times fast), Scandinavian street food (I had no idea they even had streets), Korean, and of course, pizza. I've tried the chicken from Mother Clucker (I like Nashville hot style, and this delivers) and I've had the glass noodle bowl from Sura (rice noodle salad with spicy pork, beef, or tofu), found myself either a table or a seat at the bar, and enjoyed every moment in this atmosphere. I intend to be back for Providence Pizza very soon. So how does it flow? You choose what you want from seven food types, give a number, find a place that you want to sit/perch, and they'll text you when ready. It's urban chic meets foodie meets mobile tech, and the results are pretty fantastic. A multi-season deck/open area will give rise to outdoor experiences popping up. Fair warning: parking, of course, can suck, but it can get really busy in here, as in, elbow to elbow, especially around the 5:00 hour and on weekends. Once the weather warms, First Friday's will amp up the crowds, too. It's another great option in the Crossroads, an area mushrooming with outstanding patios, bars, dining, and culture and Parlor only augments this great scene. read more
