I remember as a 5 year old kid, my grandmother and I would walk here at least once a month for a cheeseburger and the gyro sandwich. They had the Flintstones statue in the back and the owner always made sure to say something nice to me in Armenian... it always cheered me up. I remember seeing the owner deliver food to my grandmothers apartment on days we weren't able to walk there. This was the place my grandmother and I would go to every time she wanted to give me a treat. She was an old school lady who only believe in home cooking but she trusted this place. Here I am, 30 years later with 2 children of my own, and this year marks the 5th year of her passing. I'll be visiting soon with my two girls to treat them to the same meal my grandmother and I once shared. God rest her soul. read more

I love their Philly cheesesteak it's sooo good and one of the only ones I actually like! I've tried a few of their other plates and everything's been delicious too. Selections have gotten better and food is always delicious! We ordered the lamb chops,!it was tender & cooked, seasoned just to our liking. The cabbage salad was delicious and the hummus was fantastic! It's not soaked in oil like others I have tried! We used to live in the the area back in the mid 80's, but today for some reason i thought of this place and we decided to swing by just to see if it was still there, lol , yup still there. They used to sell pizza and have a rotisserie chicken cooking by the window. Although I don't recall eating their pizza, but the chicken and gyros sandwich, wow it's the best. Cannot be compared to middle eastern Lebanese "Toum", because it is not. Overall Paros Chicken is okay. The food is amazing. It always amazes me that some people love to focus on whether the staff was nice to them. Anything short of being gushed over is perceived as rude. Not every country puts on the phony customer service that we often find in restaurants. A restaurant should be judged by the food, period. I would rather eat the food of a place if it's delicious, and I really don't care about them meeting my "needy social" needs. We don't go to restaurants to make friends with the staff. So glad we came across this place during an unfortunate stay at the hospital nearby. Got the vibe as soon as I read a sign saying "'Good food takes time. Call someone you love while you wait they will appreciate it." That hit the spot during a time like this. Food was great and yes, we didn't make calls but used the time to chat and have meaningful conversation. The man at the cashier was very nice and welcomed us like family. Skirt steak sandwich was great. Bread was perfect. It wasn't overloaded with unnecessary ingredients. Cesar salad was huge! We shared and still had leftover. What a great Yelp find! I found myself in east Hollywood and wanted something somewhat healthy so I thought Mediterranean or Greek and Paris Chicken popped up with 4.5 stars, one $ and just a few blocks away. It is next to Jon's Market so there is a big parking lot which is a huge plus in Hollywood! I got the Gyro ($11.00) which is a traditional Gyro (beef & lamb) served on Greek pita bread with lettuce, tomatoes, bell peppers, onion, parsley & fresh Jajiki and it was wonderful. I can't believe this place has been around for 40 years! And I'm trying it for the first time. Very good chicken breast skewers. I'm amazed how moist and tender they made the breast meat. The beef lule was a hit with the kid too. I found it to be a bit too soft. I like to chew a little more if you know what I mean. The plates come with cabbage salad, hummus rice and fries. Stumbled across this hole-in-the-wall on Yelp, as I was trying to find a back-up place for dinner. I knew I wanted something along the line of Armenian food, but couldn't pinpoint what has caught my fancy for that evening. Since Paros was nearby, I headed straight for them (sorry Kavkaz). Once inside it was difficult to pinpoint what I was truly in the mood for. I knew that all I wanted to do was to erase that unpleasant experience I had at The Halal Guys in Koreatown the night before. Being the silly foodie that I am, the first thing that caught my attention was their panini/Cubano-like sandwich called Oottee, something I have heard of and have never had. It was filled with pieces of grilled chicken meat, onions, peppers and feta cheese. I was served with a small side of pickled vegetables. The Oottee was crispy and crunchy, and the filling was very tasty. Not sure how authentic this sandwich is, but it certainly hit the spot. To top things off, I ordered a Beef Kabob Salad to go, just incase I had some cravings later in the evening. Well seasoned kabob meat that was mixed in with a simple salad of romaine lettuce, tomatoes, and cucumbers, and it was delicious as well. Have been eating from Paros since I was a kid. My dad took me here back in the 90's when I was 8. He was buddy's with the owner, Jack. We still order regularly and never get tired nor have ever had a bad experience in the past 20+ years. They have awesome plates with big portions, every item is on point and the taste is unmatched. This was a great deal! A large chicken lule kebab ran me only $11 and I got 2 huge meals out of it! My only complaint is I wish the chicken lule was seasoned with more spices. I've been in Hollywood for a very long time and I can't believe I hadn't heard of this little gem. What an idiot I am, but don't worry, I will make amends by visiting Paros as often as possible. I was in the mood for some rotisserie style chicken, so I did a search and boom, lo and behold, Paros pops up. I checked out the pics and it looked promising, so I decided to make the trip to East Hollywood. Being that it was my 1st visit I went with a few items. I ordered a half chicken with two sides and a spicy beef sando. Oh yeah, and a side of spicy hummus. The chicken was a no-brainer and the sando seemed to be a customer favorite. The chicken was great. It was juicy and falling off the bone. It had very good flavor, but not overpowering. The little salad was nice with a delicious dressing. The rice was very good as well. The garlic sauce was very creamy. I've never had one as creamy as this one. It did lack garlic flavor or maybe I just love garlic and wanted it to be more garlicky. ;) Then I tried the spicy beef sando and that was really good. It's like the Armenian version of a Philly steak and it's awesome. The bread was warm and flaky like a baguette. The spicy hummus was delicious as well. All in all Paros is an excellent neighborhood restaurant that I will continue to visit. Hope you do the same. read more
