I can see how this could be a fun dining experience with a group of people. When we came in, it was empty inside and we were served quickly. You mark on the sheet of what you want and they bring it out and set up a spinning rotisserie in front of you. Some items are pre cooked and some are raw. The way the skewers were placed on, I was definitely worried about cross contamination. I like that they basically watched the cooking process for us, periodically adjusting the skewers to make sure it was an even cook. The scallop was the best thing I tried. First of all, the service was amazing. When we came in, we got greeted right away, and sat quickly, then given menus right away. Iced water was brought over momentarily too! We came during lunch time on a weekday. This was our first time here, so we didn't really know how this restaurant works. We got our ordering sheet and a pen. There are edible parts but there are also some very hard chewy pieces that are super hard to chew through. The pork jowl is a must! It was superb! Melt in your mouth with some crispy edges. The chicken skin was good, especially if you eat it right when you take it off the heat. The gizzards were definitely not worth it, as it was too salty and too chewy, but maybe with a beer it would be ok? The inside of this restaurant is very dark, like a late night party type restaurant, where you share a meal with your friends and have one too many beers. However, it seems very clean. I've been raving about this place to friends for their skewers, so I finally brought one along for a quick dinner. We joined the Yelp waitlist and arrived within five minutes, but the place was packed and we still waited about 15 minutes to be seated. Once we sat down, the banchan arrived and we turned in our pre-filled order form. The skewers came out quickly and, as always, they did not disappoint. The lamb skewers are my go-to and absolutely the star of the show. Perfectly seasoned, tender, and packed with flavor from the spices. My friend tried some of the beef skewers and those were just as good--juicy, flavorful, and grilled perfectly. Honestly, the skewers alone are **5-star worthy** and the main reason to come here. I usually order the bibim nangmyeon, but this time I decided to try something new: the tteokbokki and the potato pancake. Unfortunately, both were major misses. The **potato pancake gets 0 stars** from me. It arrived lukewarm, extremely greasy, and completely soggy. It lacked any crispiness and felt like it had been sitting for a while. We didn't even finish a single slice of that $10 pancake. The tteokbokki wasn't much better. Some of the rice cakes were oddly cut horizontally in half, making them limp and overcooked. The sauce had an okay spice level but was overly sweet, and the cheese on top wasn't fully melted--it had a slightly gritty texture. At around $13.50, it definitely didn't feel worth the price. To their credit, the staff tried to be attentive despite how busy the restaurant was. A server asked how everything was and I gave honest feedback about the disappointing dishes, but nothing really came of it. When another server came to pack the leftover skewers, I mentioned again how underwhelming the tteokbokki and potato pancake were. He laughed and said, "It's not good?" It's an excellent experience. For kebabs, you can order a variety of proteins and veggies. They also had other snacks and dishes available to order. On this first trip, we just wanted skewers and beer. They did bring out some pickled radish, cabbage kimchi, and egg tofu for us as well. On the initial round, the staff (very helpful and friendly throughout the night), set up our first rounds of meat. The remaining for us to take care of as we ate through our meal. Not sure if it's intended or just our flame, but it was uneven in that one side had a bigger flame than the other side so we kept rotating our meats to they all cooked evenly. Meats are great, standouts are the lamb and beef, while the provide some "dips" you can also select spiciness level when ordered. The beef tongue, corn, bacon wrapped enoki are also great options. It's really whatever you prefer. The only thing I wouldn't get again would probably be the chicken skin. I just didn't cook or crisp as well as I would have liked. Can't go wrong with draft beer. Feeling guilty that I only come here because Little Skewer in Monterey Park is always packed and the wait is too long. However, I would've never tried this spot if it weren't for that. So, thank you Little Skewer! The portions of the skewers here are incredibly generous and the quality of the meat is good. They come with glass noodles and a beautiful amount of garlic (my addiction). I'd get the pork belly, marinated beef, cucumber salad, and the cold soba noodles again. I enjoy eating these at izakayas, but I think the way it was prepared or cooked wasn't my favorite and had an interesting flavor I wasn't used to. This was my first time having Korean-Chinese skewers and I already want to go back! They have so much variety that we struggled to decide what to get. We got a variety of different beef cuts, lamb, pork belly and seafood like shrimp, scallop, squid and abalone. The beef and lamb textures are difficult to distinguish - lamb tends to have a gamey taste which I'm not really a fan of, but you can't taste it after the way they marinated it. We got mild spicy and spicy mala for the beef, and the spicy mala wasn't too strong. I'd get this again over the mild spicy. We got beef tongue and beef tendon as well, and these were all excellent when it comes to texture. Overall, we enjoyed all of the skewers, but when we go back we'd definitely get fewer now that we know what we like.
