My husband and I visited this location for a Thursday night out. We ordered chicken nachos for an appetizer. These were very tasty. We liked that the appetizer nachos were made on individual chips for easy sharing. My husband ordered enchiladas which he devoured so I assume they were great. I had the tacos reynosa with chicken. Very good but there was a lot of sauce which made them a little sloppy. Both of our dishes were served with a side of refried beans and seasoned rice. Pretty typical for a Tex-Mex place. My husband also ordered a beer. I couldn't indulge in libations due to being pregnant but I ordered a virgin pina colada which was a nice treat as well. Be sure to ask the prices of your drinks. Was charged $32 for one large skinny margarita. Large margaritas on their menu are no where near that price. I rarely update my reviews, but I feel like I should. We are at Parrandos at least once a week and have never had a bad experience. They carried on while in person dining was "not allowed " and we picked up several times. No matter how busy they are we are always treated as if we are the only customers, and everyone else is always being taken care of. It is not Taco Bell prices and it is not Taco Bell food. The food is wonderful. You can spend a lot or keep it cheap, but the quality is there. If you want steak it will cost you, but a tasty bean burrito is $10.00. Both are delicious and worth the money. WOW! I ended up stumbling across this restaurant online when I was in the search of new restaurants to try in the area. So happy I did! The food and service here was absolutely incredible. Their chips and salsa are addicting, their sampler platter was good (the taquitos were probably my favorite thing on it) and their carne asada fajitas were so tender and flavorful. Went on Father's Day so it was quite busy. First time there. Food was good as well as the service. I had the Súper burrito that was not too super but was just okay. Meh. Tonight was our first visit since the restaurant changed names. It will most likely be our last as well. The salsa that came with the chips was very, very watery (a.k.a. tomato water) and the onions were in HUGE chunks. Yuck! My kids insisted on ordering cheese dip with the chips and it tasted like velveeta. But it's a good thing we did because it took SO LONG for our entrees to come out - and the restaurant was only about a quarter full! My 13 year-old son (who is a human trash compactor) only ate the wings that came with his sampler platter. My other son ate mostly just the rice with his ground beef tacos. I did enjoy my trio combination of chicken enchilada, spinach enchilada, and beef taco but all three were overly salty. My husband finished his tacos Mexicanos but commented that he did so only because he skipped lunch. The server was pretty flat and he did not inform us that they were out of guacamole until we received our food (almost thirty minutes after ordering). Wow this place is delicious! As a native Californian I certainly wouldn't say it's authentic, but Parrando's does have mouth watering-ly great food. Some friends and I decided to come here for Sunday brunch - I ordered a mango bellini and their mexican eggs benedict. The part I loved was that it came with so many sides! Refried beans, corn tamal, Mexican mashed potatoes, and fruit with fruit dip. Absolutely delicious combination of foods, and the price can't be beat! I went to Parrando's for lunch with a party of 10 around 2. The restaurant was fairly empty at this time of day. Upon entering the decor was really nice and it seemed really clean and open in there. The patio area was beautiful in the summer breeze. Upon entering I noticed a tortilla making machine where they hand make their flour tortillas I assumed. They brought us chips and salsa which was really good- the salsa was fresh and simple: cilantro, salt, lime juice,onions, red ripe tomatoes, etc. The chips were handmade too and really tasty. Everyone enjoyed them. Our waiter was great, he was caring and attentive and quick. He didn't talk much, but he was very focused on doing his work right. Almost everyone in our party ordered enchiladas and I got the shredded beef enchiladas. They come with salsa, sour cream, and guac (also homemade) and rice and beans. I ordered a side house salad as well. We received our food pretty quick for a large party. I enjoyed the tortillas a lot in my enchiladas, but the meat inside I found a little underwhelming. I was getting a red and green bell pepper taste, and was missing the taste of the beef. The sauce also had a bell pepper/Chili taste to it which was fine, just nothing amazing. Overall it was an average enchilada. I can't say I wouldn't recommend it, because it wasn't bad, but it wasn't anything special or worth rushing back to try again. The guac was really good! It had nice fresh chunks of avocado and a ton of flavor. I'd get it as an appetizer next time. The rice and beans were good! Probably my favorite part. I was disappointed in the rice and bean portion, however. As some of the cheapest ingredients and sides to make, I expected to be given more. The beans had a savory taste to them, and weren't bland by any means. They were seasoned really well! The rice was yellow and had onion, tomatoes and peas in it- almost like a paella-style rice. It was flavorful as well. The most disappointing part of my experience was my side salad. It was extremely small and missing dressing. It looked like the chef took a fork, dipped it into the dressing, flicked it once over the lettuce and then sent it out. It's a shame because from the little droplets of dressing I did taste, it was a really good homemade house dressing! I wanted more of it. I could tell little care went into making that side salad, which bothered me the most. The lettuce looked really fresh, but was still pretty wet. Overall, it was an average experience. I could tell the waiters were pretty professional, and the chefs in the kitchen seem to have a good grasp on Tex mex food, but I'd like to see a little more attention to detail. I'd like to come back and try the carne asada fajitas as well. I was hoping for a really different and good enchilada, but it was just nothing special. I couldn't help but notice plenty of other really good restaurants around the area. Which leads me to say: If you're in the area and want a quick lunch or nice dinner, come try it out, but keep in mind that there's plenty other restaurants out there that might impress you more! read more

Was a mildly hot day but it was pleasant to be sitting outside. The Chips and Salsa came quickly. The Pico Di Gallo salsa was mild, fresh and very tasty. We asked for a hot sauce and they brought us some greenish yellow hot sauce in a small cup. Was very hot and tasty too! We ordered our lunch dishes. Had to get the attention of the waiter a few times before all of us could order what we wanted. For some reason he kept leaving all the time! :-) .. Anyway the food came and it was good. On a scale of 1 to 5, not a five but somewhere between a 3 and a 4. Nothing to write home about. This place with its size, ambiance and a bar that opened out on the patio also could be great place to meet friends, have drinks and then dinner. After a race and a morning of wine tasting, cooking our own food seemed like too much work, so Parrando's it was! Dinner on Saturday night started with some hostess confusion - was there space on the patio or not? Good thing there was, since there was essentially no one inside. We started with guacamole and drinks. I got a big beer of Modelo Especial on draft while my friends all got the Sangaritas (scoop of frozen margarita in a glass of sangria). We ordered the guacamole mild, though I ask for jalapenos on the side. They brought a little cup of finely diced jalapenos, so I was able to spice up my own portion on my plate. The salsa was fresh - chunky and watery - and the chips were thin. Honestly, the chips couldn't handle the guac - they kept breaking off in the very thick avocado mix. I got the combination with one spinach and one chicken enchilada, both topped with green sauce, served with rice, beans, and salad. The chicken enchilada was full of chunky dark meat chicken, and the spinach enchilada was bright green. The rice was yellow with chunks of vegetable while the refried beans were completely smooth. The guacamole on the salad was thinner, as it was mixed with the tomatoes - that was a more enjoyable texture for me than the guacamole that was served on its own. While the service was friendly, it took quite a while (and repeated requests) for our waters. Perhaps it was the crowded patio, which was definitely the place to be. read more

Looking at the menu my first thought was this is rather pricey for a Tex-Mex place. The food seemed like it was a few dollars over average for the area. The drinks were about $5-7 more than I would expect for a margarita. They say Grande $15. It's a regular size margarita. The food was good. Great flavor. Portion of fajitas was small I thought for $20. The beans were lukewarm. Chips and salsa were very nice. My wife's entree was lukewarm. Long and short of it is it's a nice place, a little over priced. I will likely go elsewhere for a reasonably priced good Tex-Mex meal.
