I really wanted to like this place because the menu was interesting, but, alas, could not. I'm not fussy at all about my food, but the food was flavorless. We split a broccoli and date sandwich, which of the three dishes was the most flavorful. The other two dishes literally had no flavor. The grits desperately needed salt (and I am on a low salt diet, so generally eat no salt) and the summer squash with vinegar tasted as if vinegar had not come within three feet. More like summer squash and water. Additionally, it was very hot inside the restaurant. Moving the fan to the door would have helped. read more

Passed this on the bus on our way home and decided to walk back and check it out for dinner. The atmosphere was perfect, casual yet classy. Walk up to order, self-serve water and utensils, and very friendly staff. Their menu of unique dishes offered a great variety. I tried the rare seared tuna bowl, with beans, pickled veggies and kale. Was pleasantly surprised. Very flavourful, and very fresh tasting. Tuna was average, but they somehow turned a meal which consisted largely of beans into something very tasty... down to the last bite. All the options looked good, and I would definitely return to try some others! Original menu and everything is either local, ocean-friendly, or ethically raised. My father thinks I come from the east coast to visit him in Victoria. The truth is I come to eat at Part and Parcel, shh don't tell him. The food is always so good, fresh, so beautifully prepared, and the feel of the place is relaxed and prefect. The last visit we had broccoli falafel with charred broccoli (what flavor!), Black lime pork belly with clams and heirloom beans in a delicious rich broth, a delicate fennel and endive salad with breadcrumbs - prefect textures! - and the must-have Moroccan fires with harissa mayo. I'm visiting Victoria for the first time and this place is an immediate "must visit". Menu is very creative and interesting, dare I say it's "fun". Had the fried chicken sandwich (hold mayo) and it was excellent, just enough as a standalone meal for 1, would be over the top with an additional side. I'd recommend 1 main course per person and maybe split a side. Drink selection was solid, certainly no complaints. read more

This is a Portland-style 'order at the counter and then take a seat' kind of place. Friendly service. The food is spectacular - carefully prepared, artfully plated, masterfully seasoned. The restaurant is flooded with natural light during the day. The Moroccan fries are addictive. Charred broccoli excellent. Falafel barley platter is generously portioned. All the food was fresh and tasty. The prices were good considering the high quality of ingredients and prep. Lovely clean space. The order up counter made ordering and paying very convenient for the large group I went with. I have severe seafood allergies, so going to a new restaraunt is always risky. Victoria has alot of restaurants and over the years we have tried most of them. We have become regulars at Part and Parcel over the past couple of years and it remains a family favourite because of the quality of the dishes, the creative combination of ingredients that are chosen that changes as ingredients are available, and the price point always amazes me, as it is low, and the food is just so incredibly good. Kudos to the chefs/cooks and staff responsible for the menu and the front end staff who are always friendly and go above and beyond. Best place to eat in Victoria. read more

we like this place. you can get good food at decent prices because of their cafeteria-style setup (you order and pay at the counter) the food is adventurous, occasionally missing the mark but largely quite tasty. I ate the most beautiful salad of my life there. I don't like that they ask you to pay separately for each thing you order instead of letting you run a tab. My favourite restaurant. Real food that is cooked to highlight itself. (Not sure that makes sense, but maybe you know what I mean.) I guess it means that the people who create these dishes know how to brings out the best flavours in their ingredients. It tastes as good as, or better than you ever thought possible. I'm a local & a big fan of part & parcel. I have a couple of serious food allergies but I never have trouble finding something on their menu to eat. But last week when we went for our anniversary dinner, it just so happened that my allergies knocked out 4 of the 5 entrees on the menu for that night. I did a bit of back and forth with our server who went into the kitchen to ask several times and eventually just asked for the chef to come out to see if something could be substituted. It was a busy night and there was a bit of a kerfuffle trying to figure something out that would not kill me and I would still be excited to eat but they made it happen and I was very grateful. I've rarely had to make such efforts because my allergies are relatively easy to avoid and I felt awful and super high-maintenance making my request but the chef that spoke to me was very patient and thorough and my meal was delicious. However, after our meal I was sort of chastised by the front of house staff for asking to speak to the chef and was reminded how busy they are and told that next time the servers are capable of talking substitutions with me, which was only partly true as my server did not know the answer to any of my questions and I was trying to save time and my peace of mind. I waitressed for years and worked in food journalism and asking to speak to the chef is relatively common practice where I'm from so I was a little surprised at these comments. Without this interaction, it would have been a perfect meal but I got the impression before I left that someone was unhappy at my request. Regardless, I am grateful to have been accommodated and will return again. read more

Part and Parcel was a great find with free parking halfway down the street at the Pharmacy! We ordered the Pork Belly, Moroccan Fries, Beet Salad, and Chicken Heart Skewer. The chicken hearts were awesome - at only $2 a skewer, they were a steal! The Beet Salad had goat cheese and quinoa and was well balanced and fluffy. The Pork Belly was, unfortunately, a little too blackened for our liking, and it was surrounded by blackened broccoli also. Although the flavor was interesting it didn't really suit me. It was also a little too salty for my liking. Lastly the Moroccan Fries were a revelation. I've never eaten Fries seasoned like that. Well balanced, crispy, hot off the fryer, and not overly salty! I gobbled them up! (Excellent portion sizes for all dishes as well;) Finally, we ordered a nice beer to top it off and it came as a 1.5L bottle! Enough for the two of us to share liberally. Not what I expected for a restaurant with food this good. Decor is bare bones, and you order at the counter. But the food is interesting and tasty. We had a cold octopus soup dish with fresh veggies and gnocchi with goat cheese, dates and cumin. Both were delicious. Counter server couldn't have been friendlier. Price was nice too. read more

Thank you so much for a great dining experience! I had the pork belly, the moroccan fries, and the dandelion and apple salad, but I wanted to try everything! The pork belly was excellent, the fries were good, and the salad was nice. The portions were large, so even though I was sharing the fries and salad, it was a lot of food. This is not a complaint. Just a heads up. Part and Parcel has a lovely atmosphere and the service was excellent. It is also super reasonably priced. I would go back in a flash if I lived in Victoria! read more

I've been to Part and Parcel enough times to say that their food is consistently delicious and they're rotating specials are always unique and tasty. The kamut fried chicken sandwich is my go to meal, but I decided to try their open-faced, fried duck egg sandwich the other day. It had a buttermilk dressing and pickled turnips (I think). Just to clarify, I HATE butter milk, and don't like pickled veg, but that duck egg was calling my name so I thought I'd throw caution to the wind and go for it. I am so glad that I did, because it amazing! Their moroccan fries are enough to share for 2-3 people and the ras el hanout & harissa mayo is so flavorful and gives just the right balance. The staff there are fantastic; always friendly, knowledgeable about ingredients. My friend is eats gluten free and the staff member went over the whole menu, saying what she could have, what substitutions could be made, etc...). I would recommend a hundred times over! read more

The staff was very friendly and helpful even checking on ingredients of one dish for me with the chef. One of our favourite places to get a quick bite to eat. Very fairly priced and we like the farm-to-table idea. The decor is simple but interesting, and the atmosphere is laid back and comfortable. The surrounding neighbourhood isn't the best but this place feels like a safe haven and the food is definitely worth it. Try the rare tuna sandwich and their Moroccan fries. Having just moved here from Seattle, Part and Parcel was a great new addition to the Victoria Food Scene. We have been here just about once a week since it has opened and have tried pretty much everything on the menu. There really are no lows. Some things are a little higher than others, but they are all great. Love the chicken sandwich, love the Goat Ragu, Fries are pretty good, but huge order, i forget what soup we had that was amazing, but all of them have been good+ to great, so order away! Oh the chicken wings- get them. They are something that I order somewhat frequently think oh these are going to be great only to be let down- Part and Parcels did not let me down. I don't know what else to say, its great food, friendly people probably my top3 favorite restaurants in Victoria and top visited one. Don't forget they have free parking in the lot. If i have to give one complaint, and it's hardly a complaint it is that there is no cadence to your food, you get the salad and the entree at the same time. not a big deal esp after you try the food. read more
