I took my Jaguar XK to Jaguar of _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ because I had a rattling sound coming from the rear of my car when I went over bumps or uneven road surfaces. Very annoying. After it had been sitting there for a week I got a call telling me it was X y and z oh and that it would be $7400 to fix. I took it to James who is a very good Jaguar and Landrover mechanic and he diagnosed the car himself to double check the previous shoddy and rushed work of the dealership. I come to find that the noise was none of the reasons the dealership had suggested. It was simply the brake pads shaking and hitting the rotors in the rear. James fixed it and other stuff too for a total of $836. Crazy! It drives awesome again. Honestly if you have a high end vehicle, particularly a Jaguar or Landrover DO NOT take to a dealer, their interest is to charge you more, James's interest is to keep you happy so you keep coming back. Can't say enough about James and Partners in Performance! I live in Minneapolis and was looking to purchase a vehicle from a dealership in Naperville but didn't have a way to take it to a shop to get the vehicle looked at. Long story short, I emailed James out of the blue to discuss my situation to which he promptly replied and we set everything up within 8 hrs of James receiving my email. James performed a thorough pre-buy inspection and provided a report complete with pictures of what was described in the report! How great is that?! Nothing but good things for our 2007 Pilot and 2008 Passat from James. He takes the time to explain things and to do what he can to save you money. The Passat has had emission problems, other shops fixed and then problem reoccurred. James fixed and problem has not reoccurred. Pilot had heater core leak but rather than $800 fix he circumvented the rear heater for $200, sure we have no separate heat in the back but it's not mandatory (still have the front) and with an older "junker" car I appreciate the honesty and trust James provides. If have been going to James at Partners in Performance for just about three years. I found him to be very knowledgeable on repairing both Foreign and Domestic autos. Most importantly, he is very honest and doesn't try to up sell you on services that you really don't need at that time. He and his team actually try to repair a part before just randomly suggesting to replace it, thereby saving you money on repairs. This is my 2nd time here, 1st time with my Audi A6 which broke down, the dealership wanted to charge me an arm and a leg, Partners in performance saved me 1000's, 2nd time was for my work van for brakes, they looked it over well and mentioned I need to change my rusty transmission colant line because it had a leak. If I let it go, it could've cost me thousands in transmission repairs. I highly suggest this shop! James is as good as it gets, Had a brake job on a 2005 Honda Accord (101,000 miles) which groaned for years. Everybody else told me its normal. Now its like a brand new car again. New plugs, a serpentine belt, a tire rotation, and oil change. My car is now running perfect. Have a 2001 Saab 9/3 SE Convertible. ave had problems with it starting. Took it to James by accident but was there and I asked to fix.
