Most slept on place in town. Given the notoriety of Bova's next door and Mike's and Modern a block over, it makes sense, but still crazy how Parziale's seems to get a fraction of their business. Everyone here is down to earth, loving, and talkative - amazing hospitality! These are the best cannoli in town. Fresh and hand-filled, you can't beat it. Honorable mention to Walnut Sandies, pistachio and almond macaroons, and their turnovers. They have amazing, themed ice cookies around each holiday, which are my favorite cookies around. Their bread is baked just hours before opening every morning, with healthy and few ingredients. Try the 8 grain on Fridays or Saturdays, and the Scala everyday. We love Parziale's! read more

My GF and I came here after a recent weekend trip to beantown because its reputation precedes itself. It's tucked away around the corner of the street we were walking on from regular Boston. Annoying thing is that it's cash only but I feel like that's somewhat standard for North End places. There is an ATM about a block away down the street. Regina's is down the block perpendicular to the ATM but trust me, don't let yourself get pulled in that direction (well, you can, but just make sure you try Parziale's pizza too). We came back and ordered two of their square slices to go. The cookies were rudely staring at us from inside the display case. Literally, no fucking manners. We ordered a sprinkles and I ordered whatever flavor the radioactively green one was. The lady behind the counter was kinda rude. There is also literally no seating so either have a place to live or a friend's place to live if you want to eat your pizza at a table. We had to sketchily lurk around until we finally found a place with some cement structures that resembled benches outside of a church. Thank god it wasn't raining. I opened the box and laid eyes on the beautiful, greasy, tomatoy glory that is a Parziale's pizza slice. A ray of sun shined through the clouds and down onto the slice in my eager hands. I took the first bite. The crunch of the crisp crust reverberated through my skull moments before the flavor of the sauce caressed my taste buds. Absolute ecstasy. As I've said 50K times, I'm from NY, so I've had a slice or two in my life. This was one of the absolute best slices of pizza I have ever consumed. Undoubtedly better than sex. Heaven is dying and waking up inside a pool of Parziale's pizza slices. The cookies were good too, your typical sprinkle cookie texture, not too sweet but sweet enough. The green cookie's flavor wasn't overwhelmingly artificial. Parziale's could honestly be located in a sewer with donald trump (ShAdE) working at the counter and I would still give this shit 5 stars. read more

I couldn't avoid it. I had been looking at the pumpkin loaf in the window of this subtle bakery on Price street everyday. I walked by and manager to avoid it for less than 48 hours. The woman working was fantastic. She convinced me the bread wasn't too bad for you. They use real pumpkin and more brown sugar and cinnamon than real sugar. I walked home with my bread under my arm and tore open the bag as I walked through the door. I placed it in the kitchen for a quick photo shoot before I got my first taste. Fireworks. This bread is mind blowing. Fabulous. Divine. Dynamic. All of the cinnamon and pumpkin flavors come through as layers. It's so moist and dense. A cash only bakery right next to the 24hr Bova bakery. I decided to give it a try because the high yelp rating. But it didn't live up to the expectations: 1. Limited varieties: There are not as many choices for sweets as it is at Bova. Only cookies, cannoli, or some lemon squares etc. 2. Price is not much cheaper than other bakeries in North End: $15/lb cookie. Which gave you like $5 for 9-10 cookies. Cookies taste good but not too much different than other bakeries. 3. Pizza is good price. $1.9 per square. More like Sicilian style pizza. Taste good. But again, no topping choices. It's premade sitting behind the counter. 4. Service: people at this bakery is def not as talkative nor friendly as people from Bova. Maybe it's a cultural thing. But I'd rather go to places where ppl are friendly and smiley. read more

While my wife is Italian, I am not (blonde hair/blue eyes). However, I've spent a lot of time around Italian food and markets when we lived in Pittsburgh and it is easily my favorite cuisine hands down. We make all of our Italian dishes from scratch, including the pasta we use which has given rise to extremely high expectations. That said, Parziale transported me back to Florence. The street their bakery is on (Prince) felt like one of the back alleys in Italy where a bunch of people where just hanging out and enjoying their recently found treasures in the form of carbs and sweets. It was such a refreshing experience to go in and have the ladies manning the shop walk us through what they are best known for while serving us up some of the original US Sicilian pizza squares they serve daily. The cheese is browned (which is the way we prefer) and the crust is crispy on the outside and pillowy inside. The tomato sauce is not overly complicated or doctored, it's just well balanced and executed in a simplistic style that I've grown to appreciate. Two slices were just the right amount of food for a big lunch prior to taking a bike tour of the city. After the walkthrough of their other offerings and sweets, my wife and I settled on the cannoli with traditional ricotta filling and chocolate chips. It may have been one of the best desserts I've ever had including those we indulged in during our trip to Italy. The sweetness cut the fat and small amount of grease from the cheese on the pizza and was a perfect finish to our takeout lunch. That's not necessarily the best part, however... we go 3 squares of pizza and a cannoli for $8.50!!! The value they offer is unbelievable, but you must have cash in order to partake in such delicious adventures. Should you prefer some of the less sweet baked good they have everything you would expect from an Italian bakery. Pumpkin loaf, pizzelles, Italian wedding cookies, and fantastic loaves of crusty bread. I don't believe you can really go wrong with anything you order here. Parziale's may not be overly flashy or intricate, but that has never been what the Italian people or cuisine meant for it to be. It was meant to be approachable, comforting, and well-executed which is what this bakery represents in a town where prices continue to rise and chefs/restaurants chase the next big trend in order to charge a premium to their customers. For that, they have earned my business as the go-to bakery in the North End. read more

I like this tiny Italian bakery for several reasons: It's old school Italian. It was established in Boston's North End in 1907. It looks like something I might find back in New Haven. Nothing here is modern. Nothing is new. It's got character. They only specialize in three types of baked goods; breads, pizza, and cookies. When I visited I saw lots of Italian cookies. They don't offer traditional Italian pastries but they do offer some cannolis... and I must say mine was one of the best cannolis I've ever had. It wasn't overly sweet. Parziale's is off the beaten path and not as popular as Bova Bakery which sits next door. But like I said, my cannoli was very very good. My Parvzaile's cannoli was just as good as my Bova's cannoli. I've got to imagine the Italian cookies are just as good. If the customer line is too long at Bova next door then I recommend you give this tiny bakery a try. I know there are a number of bakeries in Boston's North End, but I wasn't looking to visit one that is "the place to go" but rather just an honest bakery maybe off the beaten path. That being said, I was more than happy to find Parziale's while out and about today. Walking in, I was immediately transported back to the time of being a little girl and going to the local Italian bakery with my grandparents. With this in mind, I ordered a couple cookies as well as trying a "new to me but have always wanted to try it" sfogliatella. After paying cash for everything (they only accept cash), I walked for a bit before pulling one of the cookies out. Yes, it did it's job- I was the five year old enjoying a delicious Italian cookie made with love! I tried the sfogliatella a bit later, and it was equally as good. They also had turnovers that looked amazing as well as a wide variety of other pastries, breads plus pizza too. I am glad to have found this little gem of a bakery! read more

This place holds a special place in my heart. Their bakery pizza (and it is bakery pizza, not Sicilian; there is a difference folks) is amazing, brings me back to the bakery my Dad would take me to as a kid on Sunday mornings in my home town, so much that is almost makes me teary-eyed. To be honest, I have only had the pizza and bread, both are great, the place next door to them cannot compare in the pizza department. Only thing that I do not like, is that it is cash only, but if I know I am heading to the North End, I make sure I have enough cash to get more slices than I need lol, I suggest buying extra and freezing some for snacks. read more
