We had heard so much about Pa's that we couldn't wait to visit & eat there. Sadly it was one of the worst meals ever: slapped thinned out hamburger, burnt on one side on a soggy bun with 2 tiny pieces of pine apple that was unfresh, & even worse salad & avocado. Granted, it was 2 p.m. & perhaps all fresh food was gone. But why not say so? The food we were served looked like scraps from someone else's plate! Awful. Overpriced! My kids' BLT was worse- the only edible part of it was the bread. The fries were decent. Avoid at all cost! ! The setting is lovely but not worth it. I try to keep it healthy so I'm always getting the ahi tuna salad....the portion of tuna is well beyond the size you'd expect, even for lunch! It's delicious if you're trying to avoid fried food, and the fish and chips (according to my husband) is one of the best! Keeping it real for health nuts and all others! We tried to go for breakfast. They said they served breakfast till 11 so we made sure to get there by then. At 10:45 they came out and told us (we were second-to-next in line" that they were switching to lunch after the people in front of us. Set whatever hours you want, but please stick to them. And if "'till eleven" means you have to be finished and paid by eleven, make that clear. Don't ask your customer to extrapolate your prep time or internal logistics. read more

The hard roll was cut into two and it's just so much bread, that I took the filling out from one half and combined it to the other half. It made it 10x better. Everything bagel didnt taste like an everything bagel. It was like a poppy seed bagel. But sita good sandwich . The onion rings were very good! An appt in guilford combined by finding a place we previously went to had gone under brought us to pas place. Certainly not an easy place to find a closed street a re route and a couple of flooded roads later we made it. Simple place walk up order have a seat. It screams made for the summer shoreline traffic. We walked in and other then a 1 other family and a man picking up takeout no one else. I had the corned beef hash and eggs with a grilled bagel and home fries. Both of the girls had the Jordana's artisan one with home fries the other with a bagel and cream cheese. My hash looked like a canned variety but I suspect it was an in house. The sandwiches good. Honestly my biggest gripe had to be the home fries. Plenty of flavor but I was not a fan of the seasoning blend. I would go back just minus the home fries. read more

4.5 stars? You must be kidding! We came to Guilford from out of town for a day trip and decided to try this place for brunch given the reviews. Omelette was overcooked, bacon was undercooked, toast wasn't really toasted. There is no view of Long Island unless you stand on your table. Staying at my boyfriend's Dad's beach house in Madison for the weekend, Pa's Place was one of his highest recommendations and we're so glad we listened. We came all three days in a row for breakfast we loved it so much. Adorable little water/marina-front stone cottage with a small town feel. Went today down to the shore for a little crabbing and during a much needed break had lunch at a place I have never been to eat, PA's. Boy was I glad I did, the menu is fantastic and everything was great. It was nice eating in a picturesque spot. It's such a nice September day, so let's try Pa's Place. We were glad we did. One orders from a window and, when the order is ready, one picks it up at a separate window. Our fish tacos and fish and chip dishes took all of just 10 minutes to deliver, and were delivered nice and hot. The cod fish was fresh with a crisp batter, was tender, and not at all greasy. The chips were nicely fried and flavored, nice and crisp. No ketchup necessary. The fish tacos contained that same fresh codfish along with salsa, romaine lettuce and a nice, tangy chipotle sauce. They are served in two soft taco shells. Nice. We sat at a table underneath a pergola with grape vines over us, which provided some welcome shade, and a water view. Why sit inside on such a beautiful day? No alcoholic beverages, but we had water to drink. Prices are moderate. On weekends they feature live entertainment- generally acoustic. I come here for one thing and one thing only: the shrimp BLT wrap. Whenever I get a craving for this my husband and I drive over to Pa's Place, six pack of beer in hand (it is BYOB :). Pa's Place is one of our favorite spots for a casual laid-back lunch date, which is the majority of our lunch dates. My husband will sometimes get the seared tuna sandwich which is also good but not as good as my beloved fried shrimp BLT (which is a genius creation IMHO). We always buy a bag of the Deep River black truffle potato chips and grab a table outdoors. We never go there if the weather is not good enough to sit outside. Admittedly, we have a very liberal definition of "good enough" weather. We are hearty New Englanders who will sit outside in all kinds of weather so long as it is not below freezing or raining. We often bring our dog. The menu doesn't change between lunch and dinner. It is always reasonably priced casual stuff, salads, sandwiches, burgers, fried seafood, etc. They do have some specials, too. They only stay open until 8pm even in summer which is a bit of a pity as spending summer evenings on the patio listening to live music at sunset was one of the best things about the Little Stone House (along with its highly creative menu). Maybe Pa's will extend its summer hours and shake up the menu a bit for summer. If not, I will still appreciate it for what it is. Many homemade bakery goods (try the brownies). The best BLT ever! (they throw avocado & onion on it-order it on sourdough toast) Friendly service, local artwork for sale, environmentally conscientious, with organic & vegetarian fare available. Road the bike here was a long trip was vary disappointed to find out they were out hamburger rolls and sub rolls, and cashier was swearing about being on the phone to long. Response, Josh you read that's cool maybe that could help you know when you are low on suplies. The little act you put on after your phone call and the swearing was lame and unprofessional along with the rant you left in response to my review. I had one of the best veggie burgers I've ever had; moist, flavorful, with fresh ingredients that you can identify like peas and carrot pieces. You order at the counter, seat yourself inside or out, and your meal is delivered to your table.
